LR5.3 bugging me to update to ACR 8.3

So I install LR 5.3. Now every time I send a DNG to Pshop CC things grind to a halt as LR complains about not having ACR 8.3.
But Pshop CC Update shows no ACR update available. (It's running 8.2.) Both Adobe Application Manager and Creative Cloud apps think everything is updated. There is no manual 8.3 updater.
For that matter, my Premiere Pro is also outdated but AAM and CC apps claim it's up to date.
What's going on? How can I get back to using your professional applications professionally, without these interruptions and bugs?

Photoshop interop bug after installing update

I recently updated to ACR 5.3.0 (along with a few other updates, I wish I could be more specific, and it would be nice if there were a way to keep track of updates and optionally remove them, like Windows has), and the message about Lightroom being ahead of ACR (with the option to render, etc) finally went away. However, now there's a new problem. When I select an image and do Edit in Photoshop CS4, Photoshop opens up the photo, but Lightroom doesn't put it alongside the original image in the collection - it's now shown as being in a different folder even though it's saved to the same directory on disk. Here's what it looks like - I "edit in photoshop"ed a photo, and it created this new "folder" that now contains the single photoshop-exported image.
When I hover over them to see the location, the only difference is that the top one points to
c:\users\theuser\documents\...
and the second to
c:\users\theuser\Documents\...
When I do "show in explorer" on the single image, it brings up the correct directory (containing the other photos).
Maybe an unnecessarily case-sensitive string comparison somewhere causing it?
Either way, I'd love to know whether this is a known issue.

For some reason you have two folders with the same name, but one has an uppercase letter for the first letter. The problem has been reported before, but I don't recall anyone coming up with a consistent fix. I do notice that your folder names include a single Quote character ' Placing such characters in file names has in the past caused problems with Edit in Photoshop. So, removing them would be a good starting point for a possible fix.

You can't install 9.2.1 or earlier on any Mac that is only Mac OS X bootable. In fact you need to use the restore disks which came with those Macs to install 9.2.2 on those Macs. 8.6 is only possible to install on Macs which came with 8.6 or earlier. The 9.1 disk may be useful for your 1999 PowerMac G4, but won't be of any use for a 2006 Powerbook G4.

OK - here is what I've done in the past. As I want to be able to save my photos on a DVD that can be read by both a PC and a Mac, I am burning them in Finder. I start by downloading into IPhoto. I'll flag and edit the ones I want to print or post to the web. After that I want to take all the keepers and move them from IPhoto to various files I create in the document section of Finder. I've done it both ways in the past, copy and paste or just drag over, all the files would transfer over. Now there may be dozens of pictures that do not move over - very random, in one case there were only 6 photos and the 3 vertical ones did not copy over.
I'm wondering if this is a software issue or if there is just too much data being moved around. FYI there are 2 Nikon cameras I use and the files from both do this.

How do you update to ACR 8.4 in Photoshop CC?

Hello, all!
I hope someone can shed a little light on updating the ACR plugin in Photoshop CC from 8.3 to 8.4?
I'm running LR 5.4, and when I send a photo from LR to PS, a pop up appears saying that my "version of Lightroom may require the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in version 8.4 for full compatibility. Please update the Camera Raw plug-in using the update tool available in the Photoshop help menu".
OK, that sounded simple enough. However, when I do that, it comes back with all of my "applications are up to date", even though the ACR plug-in says it's 8.3. Searching on the web, I find a lot about ACR 8.4, but nothing about manually updating it, downloading the plug-in, etc.
Any help would greatly be appreciated.

No, I don't absolutely need ACR 8.4, but would like to use some of the new features. I'd also rather not have yet another app (dng convertor) using additional resources w/PS & LR open.
Bottom line is that I finally got it to update to ACR 8.4.
I went through the dance again with Adobe support trying to get it to update. This makes about the third or fourth time I've had to contact their support for updates - in the past, it was the CC desktop app that failed to update itself.
I keep notes every time about what is done, and they seem to have the standard process of:
Ensure AAMUpdater Notifier Process, Creative Cloud process and Acrobat updater process is not running.
Run the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool for the app
Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe -folder.
Delete the AAMUpdaterInventory folder, AdobeApplicationManager folder and OOBE folder.
Click the Windows Start button and type %AppData% and press enter.
Go back to AppData folder, if you are in Roaming folder and open the Local - Adobe folder.
Delete the AAMUpdater folder and OOBE folder.
Delete all the files and folders from temp folder - Ignore the files which are unable to delete it.
In the past, that worked for getting the CC Desktop app itself updating correctly.
However this time, Adobe Support could not get it to update by those and requested that I uninstall all of my Adobe products and reinstall....seriously, Adobe...EVERYTHING? That would take hours since I use a lot of other Adobe products.
I decided instead to start minimal at first. I already tried the un/re-install Photoshop, so I did that again, then followed up with un/re-install Lightroom - but ACR remained at 8.3.
Adding one more to the mix, I uninstalled Bridge this time, and I noticed on the unistall of Bridge, it mentioned something briefly in the process window about ACR..hmm.
When I reinstalled all three (Photoshop, Lightroom, and Bridge), ACR was updated to 8.4. Apperently, Bridge has a hook into ACR that wasn't totally releasing it for updating. It's probably just my systems, but I had the same identicle results on my laptop as well as my desktop.
Maybe that will help someone, but your mileage may vary!

Sometimes when an application is open like messages, whatsapp, cortana search and then when you click on windows button, instead of going to home screen the application is refreshing. Its really annoying. Please let me know how to fix this issue.

Hi, ssckm1087. Welcome to Microsoft Mobile Community. Have you tried checking if there is any update on the phone's system apps? You may try doing it by going to Store > ... > settings > check for updates. If this did not work, try performing the workarounds provided on this link: My phone does not work or respond as expected. After updating to ACR 6.4.1 i've got no new lens profiles

Hi,
i've installes LR3.4.1 and CS5 x64/x86.
Now i've bought a new Fujifilm HS20.
I read that within ACR 6.4(.1) a lens profile for the Fuji HS20 is included.
So i start the update out of CS5.
The update to ACR 6.4.1 runs without errors and completed successfully.
After a restart of my system i tryed to open an HS20 RAW within CS5
and i saw that no new lens profiles were available.
Same within LR3.4.1.
But booth (LR & CS) are knowing ACR 6.4.1.....

Ok, i think this was my mistake.
I thougt that with the RAW support also a lens profile would come.

i understood that RAW support and lens profiles do not come togehter.

In Photoshop CC, Help Updates shows no updates but ACR is 8.0

Im on Windows 8, 64 bit. I have tried clearing my AAM cache and that hasn't helped. I tried downloading a patcher but it only trys to install on PS CS6. FOr some reason it won't register that I need to update Camera Raw to 8.1. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.

I was able to update PS-CC to ACR 8.1 using the following method:
I have CS6 already installed and already updated to ACR 8.1.
Today the Adobe Application Manager seemed to update itself to the Creative Cloud manager so I used that to download and install the Try version of Photoshop CC.
Photoshop CC installs with ACR 8.0; however, if I do a Help / Updates… in PS CC I get the old Adobe Application Manager back, not the Creative Cloud app, and the AAM does find the ACR 8.1 update compatible with PS-CC as well as the CSXS Extensions 4 update for CC that the CC Manager installed for CS6 this morning,
So it seems that the older AAM knows how to update PS-CC and the newer CCM knows how to update the older PS-CS6.

Updated to ACR 8.4 now bridge can't access it. OSX 10.9.2 (latest version)

Just update to ACR 8.4 and now Bridge will not access ACR. Photoshop will, but not bridge! I'm on a MBP runnibng OSX 10.9.2. Any help?

I'm in the same sinking boat, and since Adobe has kept the 8.4 updater live, I think there might be a couple more to join us.
When you spoke to Adobe, were they aware of the problem, or were you the only person in the entire world that had this problem..... except for me and the other people that have posted.
I have not seen a report from the CC group.
Any chance that you also have Photoshop Elements on your computer too? I noticed that the updates included something for that too.

LR5 and the 5.4 Update

Good Morning,
I began having troubles yesterday after installing the 5.4 update. After numerous attempts to solve the problems I was having, with help from folks here, I ended up having to uninstall, then reinstall LR5.
This morning I reinstalled LR5 and the LR5.4 update. Everything works fine in the boot process. LR5.4 will load to the Library Module. When I click on the Develop Module, or any other action, I get the error message, "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working". I've tried restarting and only get the same results.
I am using Windows 8, LR5 with the 5.4 Update and had no troubles until this began yesterday.
Does anyone have any advice or a potential fix to this? I could not find any answers within any of the threads here.

You could try installing LR 5.3 and see if that fixes the problems.

How do I update to ACR 9? I am currently on ACR 8.7 and the creative cloud says Photoshop CC (2014) is up to date. I have tried a reboot and I have signed out of CC and back in.

Something may be messed up with the updates-detection mechanism on your computer where uninstalling everything Adobe and running the CC Cleaner (from Adobe) and reinstalling might help; however, there is a manual installer you can download from this page, that might work:

1. Check the cycle count of the battery against the rated life for your model. The battery may be due for replacement. If the power adapter is connected almost all the time, the battery may need replacing even though the cycle count is not too high.
2. Follow these instructions, or these for OS X 10.8 or earlier.
3. In the Energy Saver preference pane, uncheck the box marked
Enable Power Nap while on battery power
if it's shown (it may not be.)
4. You can also try resetting the SMC.
5. Make sure your system is up to date in Software Update.
6. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

It's your choice (and there is no need to SHOUT). You will find that more and more apps will require iOS 5+
If you decide to update then connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases - you may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case.
