Lr5 Camera Calibration Only Adobe Standard under profiles

Hi I have Lr5 and I am shooting a Sony A77.
In the Develope Module - camera calibration - In the Profiles I only have Adobe standard and nothing else.
Can you help please.

The usual list of camera profiles is only for Nikon and Canon cameras. You'd have to create your own profiles, or find someone sharing.

Aptus II 8 Adobe Standard color profile missing from LR3.5?

I was wondering, several versions ago, (2.7 I believe) the Leaf Aptus II 8 aka Leaf Aptus 40 was added to the list of supported cameras. My version of Lightroom 3.5 (MacOs 10.6.8) can read these files, however there is no Adobe Standard color profile for this back. When I go to the calibration tab it just shows embedded. These files are uncompressed .mos files and not jpegs or tifs. With my Leaf Aptus 75 I use the Adobe Standard profile and like it. Is this a bug or just an unsupported feature of the Aptus 40?

Thanks, that sounded like a good idea and it got me thinking. Why not trash the profile and import it from another computer. Doing that I found that the file sepraratly downloaded on another computer has the same problem so I can't move it over. The other computer is OS 10.5 Leopard whereas mine is 10.6 Snow Leopard. This leads me to believe that this is an Adobe issue.
Would any other Mac LR3 users please go to Library>Application Support>Adobe>Camera Raw>Lens Profiles>1.0>Canon and see if there is an "exec icon" next to the file named...... Canon EOS 5D Mark II (Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L USM) - RAW.lcp
I'd appreciate it and it will help isolate the problem.

Camera calibration only shows ACR 3.3 & 4.4 in Lightroom 2.5

I can't find anything recent about the camera calibration options except they are out of Beta, but shouldn't I see something other than ACR 3.3 / 4.4? I thought there was a list of cameras there previously.
I'm on Mac 10.4.11.

Be thankful you've seen ACR 3.3 and 4.4 in Lightroom 2.5. Having installed the LR 2.5 update twice, all I've seen is a camera calibration called "Beta".
As usual, I log on as administrator to perform Adobe updates. In this particular case, after upgrading, and logging in as a User, Beta was the only profile listed.
Having just purchaased and installed Xrite's Color Checker Passport, I used that software to create a profile for my new Canon 7D camera. I currently have just two profiles, Beta and Canon 7D Neutral. The rest of the camera profiles provided by Adobe are still missing.
Spending several hours searching for .dcp files (camera calibration files) I see that doing a search for .dcp files in both visible and hidden file locations, I've found two locations where .dcp files are located namely:
1) C:\Documents and Settings\Strenk\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Canon EOS 7D Neutral.dcp (Color Checker Passport created)
2) C:\Documents and Settings\ All Users\Application Data\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Adobe Standard
While I haven't attempted to do so yet, I'm guessing that copying files from location 2 to location 1 will allow you to find the camera profiles that Adobe provides in the Lightroom 2.5 update.

Camera Calibration - which Profile to use?

This is a spin out of another thread in the forum - How do I avoid magenta discolouring?.
I am using a Lr 5.7.1 on OS X Mavericks (10.9.5) and photos from 3 cameras - Nikon D600, Nikon D40, and Canon 450D - they all exhibit a very similar behaviour with RAW files described below, but it much more noticeable with the Nikons and very noticeable with the D600. I have been using Lr since version 3 (I think but I might have started with version 2, I cannot remember).
By default I have always imported my RAW files leaving the profile under Camera Calibrations as Adobe Standard. I have been moderately unhappy with the results I was seeing in Lr, not with all the images but with quite a few of them; in a nutshell they don't as I envision them and they don't look the way they look in camera. With "the way the look in camera" I mean inspecting the histograms and clipping warnings.
I am fully ware that Lr does not read the picture control settings of any camera, my Nikons have always being set to Standard.
Below are 2 screenshots from a photo taken with the D600.
1) Histogram with Adobe Standard profile
2) After and before view, left "Adobe Standard" right "Camera Standard"
There are 2 different images, the histogram is changed, the greens are render differently. I also know which one I'll pick for further work, the right image, the one with Camera Standard as the profile.

Camera profiles can be used for creative purposes, no disagreement there. However, I don't think this is the sole purpose of camera calibration and camera profile, isn't it? My point on the original post is that it seems that Camera Standard, with both my Nikons set to "Standard" picture controls, seems to better reproduce the colour rendering intent of both cameras, specially if greens are involved. All I am looking for is advice regarding best practice. This is absolutely non trivial from my point of view, best practice is not a matter of personal taste as I am sure you know. Insisting that default settings are best practice, I am not saying you are saying this, is not helpful.

I don't think this possible. I cannot find a way to do it with smart collections or the filter library. I'll keep experimenting.

Problem with camera calibration profiles

I've been using Lightroom 4.2 on windows with a Canon 450D for a while and i only use raw files.
Under the "Camera Calibration" tab I could chose betwen acr4.4, Adobe Standard and a few canon presets (paysage, neutral, etc.)
In my opinion the ACR4.4 profile gives me better and more natural colors most of the time
Last week i upgraded for a Canon 650d. When I import my pictures and go the "develop", I can only chose betwen the Adobe Standard and the canon presets. There is no ACR x.x profile (replace the "x" by whatever it should be for a 650d)
It's not the end of the world but is it possible to download it ? or did they remove it completely for newer camera models.
In the "about adobe photoshop lightroom" windows, it says i have Camera Raw version 7.3. Reinstalling lightroom made no difference and all my drivers are up to date.

ACR is legacy profile. No new cameras have it. It won't disappear for older cameras though.
Adobe Standard is Adobe's, well, current standard.
If not optimal for your tastes, you can modify it using DNG Profile Editor.

Camera Calibration Profile for Leica D-Lux Typ 109

I have Lightroom 5.7 with Camera Raw 8.7, both supposedly the latest versions, and yet I do not see any choices other than Adobe Standard under the Camera Calibration Profile menu. I have the newly supported Leica D-Lux Typ 109, and was expecting to see some camera specific choices in the Profile menu. Am I mistaken?

Most cameras only have an Adobe Standard profile:
492 camera models have Adobe Standard profile.
166 camera models have profiles in addition to Adobe Standard, mostly Canon, Nikon, Olympus and Sony.
The only Leica model that has more than an Adobe Standard profile is the M8.

Development Module: Apply Camera Calibration Profile to existing RAWs

Hi - I just found how to change the default settings in Camera Calibration (ALT changes the Reset to Set Default) and from what I can find, any newly imported RAWs will have these defaults applied. My question is: how do I apply these defaults to images already imported?
Also, what I specifically want to change is the Profile: Adobe Standard to Profile:Camera Landscape (for example) and apply that to all the images I already have shot with this specific camera body. So, two questions: Does setting the defaults include the Profile or is it only the "Shadows, Primary Red, Green, Blue" that gets saved as a new default and can these changes only be applied to newly imported RAWs?

Default setting include ALL Develop settings, including the settings in the basic panel, the lens corrections etc. For this reason, you should take a test image, perform a reset first, then apply what you want to be active in your defaults, and set the Default.
Defaults will only be applied to your images (based on Camera Model) while importing or when doing a "Reset".

Develop Module/Camera Calibration/Profiles - how to delete old ones

I want to deletes some unused Camera Calibratiuon Profiles but I can't find them on my HD. I asked Tech Support, but the files are not in the location they said. They said to go to: HD/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/CameraProfiles. They are not there. There are only two folders there: Adobe Standard (with profiles for different camers) and Camera (for more camera profile).
Where are the profiles I created using Color Checker?

The path is correct expect you must look in the Users Library: HFS Path: Mac HD:Users:~:Library:Application Support:Adobe:CameraRaw:CameraProfiles
Worst comes to worst, do a find using the name of the profile (or .dcp extension)

Develop module, camera calibration, Fuji X Pro 1 Camera Profiles question

In Lightroom 5.3 with camera raw 8.3, for my Fuji X Pro 1 lightroom is only showing "Adobe Standard."
Is there a way to have it recognize the various shooting modes on the camera?
The initial raw preview looks awesome, but as soon as lightroom builds a preview, it goes back to the standard flat and dull image that will require tweaks.
Surely I am just overlooking something?

You’re not overlooking anything.
Adobe doesn’t recognize shooting modes of any cameras; however, for Canon, Nikon and now Olympus, Adobe supplies “Camera Match” profiles for some theoretical shooting modes, that are closer to the camera JPGs than Adobe Standard but are still just approximations. Adobe has no way of knowing exactly what other companies are doing for their raw-to-jpg conversions so it’s a bit of reverse-engineering to get what they have, now, anyway.
Fuji X-trans cameras are particularly troublesome for Adobe because of the novel camera sensor layout and I wouldn’t expect Adobe to spend even more time doing custom X-trans things unless the camera’s become a popular professional platform. Somehow I doubt that so don’t hold your breath.
You can change the Develop Defaults for your camera if you want things to be different than the initial Adobe-factory-defaults look. Experiment with applying your tweaked settings as a Develop preset during Import, first, while you perfect the new Defaults, look.
You can create your own color profiles for your camera if you’re willing to spend the $100 on a Color Checker standard color target.
Basically don’t both setting things on the camera to affect how your raws are developed in LR because they won’t translate across, except WB. Spend your time learning what to do to get LR to make things how you want them with the least effort.

Camera Calibration list apparently not populated

I'm using the Lightroom 5.7.1 trial. I've imported some images and want to apply the camera profile (camera is a Pentax K-S1, which is supported). In the Develop module, Camera Calibration pane, I see the Profile popup. This popup contains only "Adobe Standard" and "Embedded". Should I be seeing a list of cameras here, or should I be choosing "Adobe Standard" with the profile for my camera being applied automatically?

Adobe creates camera matching profiles primarily for Canon and Nikon cameras. Other brands typically are provided with an Adobe Standard profile. This is a profile designed specifically for the camera that took the image. But other profiles are not provided. When you see Embedded as the profile, you are looking at a non-raw image such as a JPEG or TIF image. Profiles are only provided for raw images. If you shoot JPEG then whatever camera style you choose in your camera settings will be applied to that JPEG image and will be reflected in what you see in Lightroom.

In light room 5 under camera calibration the only option I have is adobe standard. Nothing else.

I have seen the tutorial that shows different models of cameras coming up under camera calibration in light room 5. The only option I get for my sony cameras is Adobe standard. Is there some setup procedure that I have missed

There may be only one profile depending on which camera you have. Multiple profiles are only available on some camera.

Show us a screenshot of the filename in LR that includes the extension of the file.
Right-click on one of these files and do Show in Explorer, then show us a screenshot of the files in the folder that includes the extensions--maybe a Details view.

Camera profile say Adobe Standard with DMC-LX3 files

Am I doing something wrong here.
I import raw files from Panasonic DMC-LX3. It is stated as supported in Lightroom 2.3, but under Camera Calibration I only see Adobe Standard?
Does this have something to do with the exception in DNG file handling for the camera (see, http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop/cameraraw.html?camerarawnav )

It might but I don't think Camera Matching Profiles have been issued for other than Canon and Nikon at this point.
