LR5 catalog error message after Windows 7 OS repair

I had BSOD happening shortly after installing 5.4 update first and second Canon scanner driver for windows 7 a couple days later. I wasn't sure which program was creating the BSOD so I tried a few things and BSOD was getting worse. I restored comp to later restore point when I created a LR5 restore point. Still had BSOD. So I just did a windows repair. When I got back to desktop the LR5 was back to 5.3 and Canon scanner was unplugged. So far its been 2 days and no BSOD. Now I went to start LR got an error message "Unexpected error opening catalog" I'm guessing since it was rolled back it can't reconize the catalog. I don't care for losing it because I did all the work I needed to do. So I can just start with new imports, but I can't open LR. Where do I go from here. Should I create a new catalog or update LR to 5.4 and see what happens.  I hope it is not the update that was creating the BSOD. Any help thanks

My original post states I had upgraded LR5 to 5.4 and later installed Canon scanner shortly on another day. My conclusion was that my Canon scanner was the culprit because my original cd packaging was out of date which I did not realize until I tried to install it on my Wins 7 and message box said it was not going to work or compatible. I proceeded to Canon website to get a driver that will work with Wins 7 and installed it, a day later after using it to scan documents and started to get BSOD. It's been a few days now with no scanner installed and everything is working fine so far. Maybe by the weekend I will try to re-install the scanner or by a new one compatible with Wins 7.

    Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I did some research into that error message and it appears as if it is a virus or malware. I would recommend that you run your anti-virus and anti-malware software to fix this issue.  It appears to be related to a Conduit search program or add-on.

    In general, when desktop software is using Flash Player, it's because they're embedding an Internet Explorer window in the application.  If you don't have Flash Player for Internet Explorer (aka. the ActiveX Flash Player) installed, then the desktop application isn't going to work. 
    So, fire up Internet Explorer
    Go here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
    Follow the prompts, and then re-launch the application after you've completed the installation in IE.  Hopefully that sorts it out for you.

    after perusing other subjects with playback issues: 
    this is the fix: 
    -Launch Control Panel - Double click Quicktime, If you do not see quicktime, look on the top left side of control panel and switch to classic view. This will then allow you to see Quicktime.
    -Now click the advanced tab and click on Safe Mode GDI Only, Apply, then ok.

    Yes, i had the same error message after upgrading to 7.3.
    I am using windows XP - i went to the Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs -> Scrolled to iTunes & clicked on Change (not Remove), then clicked Repair. It all works fine after that.

    I wiped it out and restored from backup but I am still getting the same message.

    I uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and that fixed it. Here are the specific instructions that I was given.

    As you can see i'm a newbie on this board, however I've frequently visited here once in a while.  Anyway, the problem I currently have after I upgraded my cpu from 2.53 ghz to 3.2ghz HT (Northwood) is that I not very often (few times so forth since monday) see this error message after reboot my pc :

    As i stated before I've never seen this message before the upgrade.  So, here is my configurations:
    BEFORE
    875P NEO-LSR w/ BIOS v. 2.0
    2.53ghz 512 FSB CPU
    9500 Readon 128mb video card
    Dual IDE HD 80gb & 160 gb (NON SATA)
    1gb Dual channel memory (512mb on channel 1  -  512mb on channel 3) (KINGSTON pc2700 module)

    3.2ghz 800 FSB 512mb (L2 cache) CPU
    9500 Readon 128mb video card

    * may be this causes this error message because as I read it on the discription page of the 875P NEO-LSR that it will only support DUAL channel (PC3200 type) with HT CPU.  So, i suspect this may cause the problem but I havent try to rearrange my memory to one channel (1 x 2) yet.
    I will greatly appreciate it if someone in here who may has experienced it before or know what all this means.  Please advise

    Here is my situation, I just freshly installed Windows XP Pro w/SP2 prior to this cpu upgrade ...I did the os last weekend and upgraded the cpu the day or two after which is monday of this week.  So, can I just do the BIOS update now with the os already inplaced ???  I assum the aswer is yes, however I just wanted to confirm before I do it, you know

    There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive M:.
    I don't have the box checked to enable disk use.

    I would take it back to the store that you purchased it at and get a refund. Or alternatively, if there is an Apple store near you, take it in there and see what they can do for you. How old is your iPod? If it's been less than a year or you purchased and extended warranty then it shouldn't cost you anything to get it fixed or looked at.

    Make sure you have the right system requirements before you start to update the iOS, you will need:
    Apple ID (required for some features)
    Internet access
    Syncing with iTunes on a Mac or PC requires:
    Mac: OS X v10.5.8 or later
    PC: Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
    iTunes 10.5 or later (free download from www.itunes.com/download)

    Your photos should be safe as they are in the Library.
    As to the download issue: contact Mac App Store support. There's a link on the right hand side of the Store Window.

    For troubleshooting your issue, please take steps as below:
    1.Go to IIS, make sure the web application is actived.
    2.Go to IIS -> Applicaiton Pools, make sure the application pool related to your web application is started.
