LR5 Nikon 24-70 F2.8 Vignette Profile too bright top right corner on D4

I have recently upgraded to LR5 from LR4. I've noticed that the top right hand corner of my shots with the 24-70 2.8 seem to have a bright corner when lens correction is applied. Otherwise I'm loving the new upgrade. Any ideas? I've tried resetting and I'm still getting it. Do I need to download different profiles?

There are (or can be), of course, editable regions in the head of a document. Typically, around the <title></title> you will find 'space' to put links etc, and meta tags:

Further down in this same document, I find:

showing a stylesheet link and an embedded style.
So it's not so much that you can't have editable areas in the head of the document, it's more that you can't overlap or improperly nest ANYTHING.
You can also (am I repeating myself?) make a tag's attributes editable. I use that feature most notably for applying different IDs to <body> tags for different neighborhoods in my sites. By applying different body IDs, I can control more specifically elements on those pages. But that's a conversation for another time!

Do you have the latest camera raw installed for Photoshop? If so, you can find the profiles in /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Nikon/ . Lightroom should recognize them if you move them into your home directory's Library folder in the exact same folder structure (but in the Library folder in your home directory). This is assuming you are using Mac OS X. No clue where these files would be on Windows. If you don't have Photoshop, you can install Camera Raw using the combined installer with DNG converter which is a free download from Adobe. This should (I think) give you the profiles in that exact location without owning Photoshop.

I have been shooting my D800 for over a year now, and I have not observed what you are discussing, particularly in outdoor, natural light situations.
I have downloaded your NEF, and imported it into Aperture (3.4.5). I notice two things right away: 1) you are using Uncompressed NEF, 14 bit recording; and 2) you seem to have a custom White Balance. The former should be of no matter, but would be interested if you have been able to discern any advantage over Lossless Compression, 14 bit?
However, the important concern is with the Custom White Balance impact on the rendering of NEFs in RAW in Aperture. I am planning to do a study of this, and am wondering if you could test your resutls in similar shots with Auto White Balance rather than any preset (yours or the camera standard presets)?
I by practice only shoot Auto White Balance (and RAW), but recently I have found benefit to using a preset WB when shooting video since that result will not be modifiable later on the computer. After doing this, I have sometimes forgotten to reset the WB to Auto before again shooting stills in RAW, and the resulting difference vs once reset has been curious.
While it is well known that Picture Controls when used and shooting RAW will likely result in wide differences between the Camera Preview and Aperture's first rendering, I am less certain what the dynamics of White Balance settings and first rendering in Aperture.

Lr5 Camera Calibration Only Adobe Standard under profiles

Hi I have Lr5 and I am shooting a Sony A77.
In the Develope Module - camera calibration - In the Profiles I only have Adobe standard and nothing else.
Can you help please.

The usual list of camera profiles is only for Nikon and Canon cameras. You'd have to create your own profiles, or find someone sharing.

LR5.4: Why does automatic lens correction profile no longer work for SONY NEX-5N?

Starting in LR5.4, if I attempt to apply automatic lens profile corrections, LR applies a profile for a Hasselblad LF 18-55 camera lens instead.
Formerly, in LR 5.3, the 'make' in the lens profile pane automatially matched the EXIF 'make' of the NEX-5N; namely, "Sony", and the correct lens profile was applied automatically.
In LR5.4, I must now manually select make = "Sony E" to appy a "setup=custom" profile before LR applies the correct lens profile. The minute I set 'make=Sony E', LR applies a profile that matches the lens in use: either the "Sony E 18-55mm F3.5-F5.6 OSS", the "Sony E 16mm F2.8 OSS" lens or the "Sony E 55-210mm F4.5-6.3 OSS" lens that I use.
Another issue: I am not certain of this, but I swear the LR5.4 lens profile correction now *increases* pin-cushion image distortion, whereas it worked beautifully in LR5.3. (I should take a photograph of a grid to see if my impression is correct.) Are the lens profile corrections applied to a camera with EXIF make="Sony E" different from those applied to an EXIF make="Sony" (i.e., the NEX-5N)? If so, this is a shame, for it means LR no longer fully supports the NEX-5N.
Does anyone know how to resolve this problem?
(I believe LR5.4 may have picked up on recent product line changes announced by SONY, wherein NEX will be marketed as Sony Alpha E cameras, and I imagine they will be changing the EXIF 'make' of new cameras to reflect this. However, that won't be changing the EXIF make of my NEX-5N.)

Why is that so and how can I get the proper lens profile automatically if the lens does have its own Adobe profile loaded?

Pick the correct lens manually then choose 'Save New Lens Profile Defaults' from Setup drop down menu. Lr should remember the lens and use it as the default in future. See screenshot below

JRMC4.0: Method profiler not picking the right class instance

Testing with JRMC 4.0 + R28 1.6
Method profiler works on unit-test cases. However, when using it on a large scale application, it did not work properly for some of the classes and methods (zero invocation count).
I searched internet and saw some ppl mentioning about multiple class loader could result that weird behavior. I only using one simple spring class loader, therefore don't know how to resolve it...

Thanks Erik. The issue is resolved without me doing anything on the application side... I switched back to JRMC 3.1.2, and it works fine.

Applying profiles: Did I do right?

I'll try keep this simple...
Objective
To supply a page advertisement as a press-ready PDF to publishers specification 1.3 PDF Ink density not to exceed 300%
Processes and Results
I downloaded and installed the following profile 'ISO coated v2 300% (ECI)' which seem to best match this fairly basic specification.
1. Open main image in Photoshop and save JPG with profile mentioned above applied. Placed image in ID_CS4. >Edit >Assign Profile and apply same CMYK profile to image. Export PDF/X checking same profile applied. Result = PDF >Output Preview: highlighted large dark areas exceeding 300 Total Area Coverage and not useable.
2. Same as above without applying profile to original Photoshop with same result.
3. Open main image in Photoshop and save as RGB .PS file with no special profile applied. Placed RGB .PS image in ID_CS4. >Edit >Assign Profile and apply 'ISO coated v2 300% (ECI)' to CMYK profile of image. Export PDF/X checking same profile applied. Result = PDF >Output Preview: almost prefect with only small number of pixels exceeding 300 Total Area Coverage. The colour looked good on screen and this is the file I sent.
Conclusion
Option 3 seemed to work ...it sounds as though it shouldn't but it did. I would be very grateful for any observations or simple explanations from prepress guru's out there. From my experience it appears that publishers are becoming more demanding with ad copy specs especially with online flight-checking delivery systems. I would like to expand my understanding and devise a simple work process that meets every requirement.

The reason option 3 worked is you made a conversion from RGB into the ISO coated v2 300% (ECI) CMYK profile during the export. There has to be a color conversion for a CMYK profile's total ink limit to be enforced—simply assigning a profile has no effect on total ink.
If you want to place CMYK make sure ISO coated v2 300% (ECI) is the destination CMYK profile when you make the conversion to CMYK in Photoshop.

[Profile] Choose own 'Top 5 Artists' & 'Top 5 Albums'

In addition to recently played artists and public playlists, include a "favorites" panel/tab that shows the user's top 5 artists and top 5 albums (think High Fidelity style). And these would not be automatically generated by what they've been listening to the most lately - the user would be able to personally select and change their top fives to reflect not only what they're digging right now, but also their tried and true all-time favorites.
I think this would make user profile pages a better reflection of users' tastes, because recently played artists and public playlists provide are somewhat limited.

IP Profile Too Low?

A BT engineer recently visited home to resolve some problems I was having with slow broadband speeds (max speed was ~1.8Mbps). He fitted an NTE5 faceplate and since then, speeds have improved dramatically to around 3.4Mbps.
I have a very stable line, and had been synced at 4000kbps with an IP Profile of 3.5Mbps for over four days. However, after using the Kitz max speed calculator with my line attenuation of 51.1dB, I think I should be have an IP Profile of 4Mbps.
So, I restarted my HomeHub 2 to attempt to resync at a higher speed, but it has actually fallen to 3808kbps (I can't find out what my IP Profile is currently as I have already run one speedtest within the last 60min - as soon as I can find out, I'll share on here).
Attached are the results from my recent BT speedtest, and the ADSL line stats from immediately before my recent restart.
Am I being overly optimistic of my line being able to support an IP Profile of 4Mbps? Should I be able to squeeze out a bit more performance than I'm currently getting? I am connected to the HARBURY exchange and so still using ADSL Max.

Adding a shared mailbox to a user's Outlook profile, who has reviewer rights only, via PowerShell

I'm working on trying to create something like a knowledge base for my company, and what I'm trying to accomplish is to create a shared mailbox on 365, add users to have read-only rights to the Inbox (which I can achieve via PowerShell) so they can't delete
the articles, but it seems that by just adding Reviewer permission to a user, it doesn't force the mailbox to open on the end-user's Outlook profile - it only seems to automatically populate if I go through the exchange admin console and allow Full Access
through User Delegation.
Is there a way, via PowerShell, to open a shared mailbox in a user's Outlook profile?

My profile only- Brightness and volume buttons stop working (+)

I am having intermittent problems with my profile in OS X. It's the latest update, which I can't check (More on that in a minute).
At random intervals of more than one week, my MBP's brightness and volume buttons stop responding. As soon as I notice that, I try to open system prefs. One bounce on the dock, then nothing. Console: one bounce, then nothing. Terminal: same thing.
This only applies to Apple software, and only some Apple software. "About this mac" doesn't work. Same applies to Safari, Disk Utility, App Store, Activity Monitor, Quicktime, etc. Chrome, Firefox, Pandora, Adium, et al function normally. For some reason, iPhoto and Garageband do start and run normally.
I just tried restarting Finder (shift + Apple menu, selected 'Force quit Finder' with Finder in the foreground). Now Finder won't start. Spotlight runs, but you can't use it to open anything that won't open via the dock or Finder.
My trackpad settings have changed as well- it no longer recognizes 'tap to select'.
I tried logging into my 'safe' troubleshooting account (untouched settings, nothing installed). Everything works fine under the safe account; the only trouble I could spot was that the cursor wouldn't change from an unmoving pinwheel. I could still click on things, open apps, etc.
I'm 99% sure that a simple restart will cure everything but I'd like to solve the problem. It's kind of a big deal when my primary machine gorps up for no reason.

Apparently, part of an old install of Little Snitch persisted when I upgraded machines. The above example repeats itself over and over in my console messages, hundreds of times.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I just did a clean uninstall using the latest Little Snitch installer- no more console messages about it.

Thunderbird shows 3 default profiles? Is this right? I just installed it and recovered my profile from another computer.

My previous computer's hard drive said it was failed. I copied off the thunderbird profile before it crashed.
I bought a new computer. I restored the thunderbird profile. Within a few hours, the email and file folders revert to a 2014 data file any anything from that time forward does not appear. So I went in, uninstalled thunderbird, deleted all the thunderbird profiles and their files and put it back on again. Within a couple hours, it did it again.
So I again uninstalled thunderbird, searched everything thunderbird and deleted all I could and downloaded a fresh copy of thunderbird and then restored the profile again. Within about 30 minutes there are now three different default profiles for thunderbird. I don't know what else to do. The e-mail files aren't changed yet, but I'm waiting...... Are three supposed to be there, I would think not. I certainly didn't create them. Somebody know what to do??????

No, Thunderbird would create a new profile upon start if it can't find an existing profile.

Nikon D300s images too bright and interlaced.

So this is my first time shooting and editing video and I'm getting some weird errors.
I'm running Windows 7, and when I view the video files after downloading them from the card, the whites all seem too bright and blown out, no matter which media player I use. When I import the videos into Premiere CS5, the whites are not so blown out and there's detail.
BUT when I'm done editing and save the file as a HD H.264 720p 24fps file, the whites are again blown out AND there's obvious interlacing.
How do I get my whites to not be blown out, and how do I get the output to be deinterlaced?

You've told others on this forum to use professional monitors.
Not everyone has access to a professional monitor. I will never have access to a professional monitor. Not everyone is a video professional and not everyone cares to be one. I just want a video that looks good on YouTube. A professional monitor is not an option.
All I know is that on the same monitor, when playing the originals and the final exported file the whites look noticably more blown out than they do when previewed within Premiere.
The D300s only shoots in progressive, but when I export from Premiere (making sure Progressive is selected) the video looks interlaced.

How to change the "created by" name in calendar entries

My iPad calendar events have a typo in the "created by" name field. Does anyone know where this name comes from and how to change it?
I'm running the latest iOS. I sync with Outlook on a stand-alone Windows 7 PC via iCloud (not using Exchange). It does not seem to matter on which device the events are created.

This type of question should really be asked in the Feedback on Developer Exchange forum or by email the site administrator directly, I'm sure the people that recieve these messages as part of their newsgroup services don't want read about DE specific problems.
That being said, click on "My Profile" in the top right corner of all NI web pages. From there click on "Modify Profile". You will see a box containing your information including your "Alias", click on edit and change your alias.
