Lr5 won't install on my mac

Cs6 has uploaded fine, Lr5 won't it just keep saying .... "you are running an operating system lightroom no longer supports ...i'm on a mac and have L4 installed now and working fine
thanks

The oldest version of the Mac operating system LR 5 will install & run on is 10.7
So if you wanted to use LR 5 you’d need to update your operating system first. I know it's a pain, but at least it’s no big expense. Before you go ahead you’d also need to determine whether your Mac will run the current version 10.8 – you can check that here…

  • Docs to go won't install on my mac

    Hi,
I've recently bought a palm TX, and have been experiencing trouble  with the included software apps for my mac.
I've installed palm desktop, and some of the other apps such as adobe reader, but for some reason docs to go won't install.
i can load the disk image off the CD, click on the VISE installer icon, accept the terms of use, but it get's stuck when the progress bar appears.  the last thing it says before "not responding" is...
    items to install 240
    "searching  [computer name]"
    or something along those lines
I've tried repairing disk permissions, i'm logged in on the admin account, reinstalled palm desktop and there are no other apps running.
I'm using OSX 10.4.11 (tiger), a palm TX, and the palm desktop version is 4.2.2
I've also tried downloading 4.2.1 rev D but same result.
    please help!

    Thanks for your reply,
The version included on the CD is Docs to go ver 7.  According to the datavis website, it's mac compatible, and it certainly looks like a mac compatible installation procedure.
I've found getting technical help from datavis pretty much impossible, as i need a registration no. to e-mail for support, and as I can't even install the program, I've got no registration no.
Is there anyone else out there with a TX using docs to go on their mac???

  • Mavericks won't install on newest mac mini fusion drive

I have a mac mini, latest version.  I have a fusion drive.
Mavericks won't install on that drive.  I get this message:
This disk doesn't use the GUID Partition Table scheme. Use Disk Utility to change the partition scheme. Select the Disk, choose the
partition tab, select the volume Scheme and then click Options.
Well, I did that, up to "choose the partition tab."  Then it says "you may only split this partition into two. To do this, click +."
I did that, and there were two partitions.  the only option left is to select apply, which I didn't.
The "options" were still greyed out.
    So now what?
    Thanks for any input.

Lion creates a recovery area with a minimal version of OS X and it may be unable to do so due to use over the years, and possibly other resizing operations (Boot Camp).  It could just need more space, if you only have less than 8gb free.  Lion shuffles and merges the two systems when it upgrades.  You can burn the image downloaded from App Store by finding the dmg file inside the "Install Mac OS X Lion.app" bundle, dragging it into disk utility, then burning from there.
Otherwise, you can appropriate a MBR/BIOS formatted 4GB thumbdrive, 8GB of either EFI or MBR/BIOS thumbdrive, flash storage device, or external hard drive, and format it, using the restore operation through disk utility to copy the contents of the installer disk to the media.  Exposed via the alt key before the Apple logo, should show the bootable media, where you can format over the former installation.
As always, backup your files when upgrading.  I recommend if your installion is over a year old to wipe and upgrade if you can't make otherwise the media bootable, using your 10.6 recovery dvd.
If you cannot find an external medium to backup your files before the upgrade, if you need to format via disk utility (Through 10.6 media), you can consider Dropbox as an option (2GB free account).
It's not uncommon for the partition to simply refuse operations, including upgrades and resizing.

  • PE 12 won't install on my Mac. Message says close running programs but none are running

Why won't Photoshop 12 for mac install? I get a message to close running programs but none listed and none are running. Tried several times including restarting computer

Tried that but nothing other than the Finder was open in activity monitor. However stumbled on the fact that Sugarsync was running although it did not show up anywhere. Closed it and installation worked!

  • LR5 won't install in specified folder

I have a custom folder setup as my default installation folder in my Adobe Application Manager but Lightroom 5 won't install there. Instead, it just installs in the default folder that all Adobe applications do, which is Program Files/Adobe/. All my other applications install in the folder I've specified but LR5 doesn't.
I've updated the Adobe Application Manager and ran the Creative Suite Cleaner but I'm not able to get it installed where I want. Any thoughts or suggestions?

This is what I did to solve the problem:
    1. Install Lightroom 5 from Application Manager.Run the Program.
    2. Go to Help - System Info and copy the serial number (save in a file).
    3. Uninstall Lightroom 5 - there were 2 entries 'Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5' and 'Lightroom 5'.- uninstall both.
    4. Download and install the trial, specifying the folder that you want to intall it in.
    5. Run the program and paste the serial number previously copied when asked.
It should not have needed this - something as basic as this should not have been missed and makes me really worry about Adobe's testing procedues. What shold have been a few minutes work took far too long to do, not including all the work to find a solution.

  • Adobe photoshop lightroom won't install on my Mac - error can not open file

Adobe Photoshop Lightroom4 will not install on my Mac. "Error can not open file" when trying to open will installer. If I cannot get it to work I would like to return product.

What version of Mac OS are you using?  What is the exact name of the file which you are double clicking on?  If you right click on the file and select Get Info what does it state under the Open With section?

    Hi TracyHorvath.
I will be happy to help you.
So that I can better assist you, I would like to ask a few questions.
    1.  How is the printer connected to the computer?  Is it connected directly to the computer with a USB cable, with an Ethernet cable to a router, or wirelessly?
    2.  If the machine is connected with a USB cable, are there any other devices, such as a USB hub or extender, connected between the unit and the computer?
    3.  Are you receiving any specific error messages when you attempt to install the drivers?
    4.  How are you installing the drivers?  Are you using the installation CD that came with the machine or are you using drivers downloaded from the Canon USA website?
I look forward to your reply.  Should you need immediate assistance, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).

  • Flash Player won't install properly in Mac

I have repeatedly attempted to install the most current version of Adobe Flash Player in my 10.8.4 Mac without success.  Actually it installs, but does not give me opportunity to accept your terms (which I am willing to do).  When I try to open a file, it is black.  What do I have to do to get this to work properly?

    Junie,
    Hi...
I really appreciate your assistance.... I installed firefox. I have MAC version 10.5.8... I think I should have stated that on my prior post......sorry.
The version of firefox I installed on this mac works until I attempt to use a app that requires flash. I updated the flash player with the correct version that firefox requires.
to no avail will the plugin update. when attempting to update the plugins, I get a message from firefox telling me that I do not have the required system in the mac in order to update the plugins.
So...I am going to continue to investigate and analyze where I am going wrong in my attempts to reinstall adobe flash on this mac....
I will keep you apprised to my outcome. Any further assistance that you may possibly provide me would be Great!!
    Thanks again,
    Scott

  • LR5 won't install on mac ox10.6.8

bought into the cloud for photographers. Photoshop cc loaded just fine and works great. Lightroom 5 will not install. tried safe mode, creating a root user. still not installing. Shouldn't be this difficult.

saw my answer on another question of the same problem. Lightroom 5 needs Mac OS 10.7.  My current 10.6.8 won't do it.

  • Purchased PS LR5, but it won't install to my Mac OSX 10.6.8

the installer demands for OSX 10.7 or higher, but the Mac says "no updates".
Any body with a good idea?
    Thank you in advance ...

  • OS X Mavericks won't install after erasing Mac Hardrive for reboot

So I decided to reboot my computing and now the new OS X software won't install

If you do have an iMac, Late 2012, restart the iMac holding the Command+Option+R keys so you boot from the Apple internet servers, you must be on the internet to do that.  You can then choose Install Mac OS X and reinstall your operating system.  Then proceed to go to the Mac App Store and download and install Mavericks.

  • Firefox 17 won't install on my mac 10.5.8, white circle with cross through, it previously worked an hour ago had to delete because an annoying toolbar add on?!

Firefox worked merely hours ago on my computer, had to delete as I explained above because of a dodgy toolbar from some website, deleted firefox, tried re-installing and won't work. Tried links on other help pages to download older firefox version and comes up with page "Whoops are you lost firefox page" and redirects to where I was. Very frustrating. I just want my firefox the way it was ?!

Firefox 17.0 and above requires Mac 10.6 or higher. The last version made for Mac 10.5.8 is Firefox 16.0.1.

  • Lion won't install on my Mac mini. Why?

I have a 2 yr old Mac mini with 2.53 GHz Core Duo CPU, 4 GB of RAM and it's running 10.6.8. I just downloaded Lion but the installer says it can't install on my HD. Why not? I cannot find any info about what to do.
Is there some software on my computer that the installer does not like?
Does Lion need a completely new partition to install on?
If so, why is this not mentioned anywhere ?
