LR6 Slow performance, anyone else?

So develop is moderately faster with GPU acceleration activated. But I've run into a few issues when editing .RAWs that cause significant slowdown:
1. Attempting to do any sort of white balance or exposure adjustment becomes incredibly slow after applying any spot removal, brush adjustment, noise reduction, or if effects are added. This occurred on 5.7 as well, but it is much more pronounced with Lightroom 6/2015.
2. Speaking of brush adjustments, they are SLOOOOOW. So slow it almost makes it impossible to use. The time from click to the paint appearing is almost delayed by a second. Turning off GPU acceleration actually makes it a bit easier to use.
3. Cropping is jittery, turning off GPU acceleration makes it worse. This is frustrating when you want to make very small adjustments to your crop.
These are the biggest issues I've been experiencing out the gate. Wondering if anyone else has noticed this? I've pasted my specs down below. I don't think anyone from Adobe will be seeing this post. But I hope some performance updates come down the line. Otherwise I may just switch back to 5.7.

importing new photos is just a nightmare! I dont know what is going on... Lightroom is eating away 40% CPU and nothing is actually happening...
Turned off GPU to see if any faster... nothing

Is LR6 SLOWER for anyone else? Major issue for me...

So I updated CC. I'm running a Macbook Pro Retina, 10.9.5, 2.3Ghz i7, 16Gb RAM
Imports are WAY slower now than they used to be. I convert to DNG & create Smart Previews. I don't know what's changed, but it is way slower than it used to be.
Also, when editing photos via Smart Previews, sometimes the photo takes WAY too long to load....it just stays pixelated. I'll move on to the next photo or plug in the external drive...but LR5 never did that.
I'm not sure what is happening with these "performance enhancements" but I'm definitely not seeing it.
Any way to get this to speed back up? I've got 2 weddings next weekend & I can't stay up all night importing photos.

Try turning off the GPU acceleration. It's under Preferences/Performance.

Servers are slow again - anyone else?

The Apple servers are VERY slow tonight - I can barely even load trailers. Anyone else seeing this? I'm the the Southeastern US.
I purchased an AppleTV for my parents this weekend since we've loved ours so much - now Apple has gone and messed things up royally by intermingling "purchase only" titles with rental titles and now slow servers. I almost hesitate to give it to them at this point!

It may well be that the servers are a little slow due to demand, but there are other factors you need to eliminate before making that conclusion.
Your ISP could simply be throttling your connection, this is easily spotted as all your downloads will be slowed down accordingly. What is more difficult to spot is the appliance of filters to your service which will target certain services but not others.
Ralph, yours is an entirely different issue, you appear to be unable to connect at all.

IBook app slow for anyone else too?

I have noticed when i try to use my ibook app its running slow. This is happening on my iphone 4, and old 3GS. Its especially noticeable when you flip books to horizontal to read, it takes it a good few seconds to flip over.
i know seconds is not a big deal, but in any other app when i turn the phone it immediately flips over the screen. And i remember when i first got the ibook app it wasn't like this. more recent thing, and happening on both phones. so i don't is this a software bug?
anyone else with this issue?

One odd thing that I noticed is that when I FIRST open my Pooh book (the free one), it gives me an error, telling me that the required resources aren't there, and doesn't open. Then I can open it again, IMMEDIATELY, and it opens just fine. I deleted the book the first time (because it would never open, and would always give me that error), and now it opens, but only on the second time...

After updating to iOS5, browsing (playing) music on the lock screen has gotten really slow, has anyone else had this problem?

As the title states, browsing music while playing it on the lock screen has really slowed down, while it used to zap to another song quite instantly it now takes about one, sometimes two seconds to do so. Did iOS 5 cause this? Will it be fixed? Any other explenations?

I rarely record automation, and when I do I never do a second pass (usually hand draw automation in) but I have had problems with Logic 7 no longer playing back automation. I've been told its fixed in Logic 8, but in the mean time here is a work around.
Select the region where the automation is (if there is no region, create one using the pencil tool and expand it to cover all automation) and go OPTIONS menu -> TRACK AUTOMATION -> "Move current track data to region data." Now everything should play back as expected. If you want to edit the data, simply select "move current region data to track data" and edit away.
For some reason, Logic 7 will sometimes stop reading track automation data, but I have yet to have it stop reading region automation. This is a bug, and according to other users, has been fixed in Logic 8. Hope this helps until we eventually upgrade

MARS slow performance after latest patch?

I just moved our small MARS 50 to 4.3.2 and we're still crawling. The GUI is ungodly slow, is anyone else still having this issue? I saw a lot of complaints of MARS in regards to the 4.3.1 code, I'm not seeing much an improvement to 4.3.2.
Anyone else relate or have advice for me other than frequest reboots?

In our case, it was some bug with NAT sessionization. We have Checkpoint devices, but I'm not sure if it's limited to CP or any NAT device. Turning NAT sessionization off really boosted performance. Our pnparser CPU utilization went from >70% to <30%. It's a per device DB setting, so Cisco has to do it.

Anyone else notice slower network performance since Apple TV 3 update?

Ever since I updated the ATV to the 3 software, my download and "ready to play" times have increased dramatically. Several of the rented HD movies also stalled during playback, something that never happened with the Take 2 software. Noticing no network problems with other connected devices. I connect via Qwest DSL 8Mbit service via an Apple Airport dual band N router (late 2008). Anyone else see this slowdown?

I'm running:
- Mac Mini running iTunes sharing a library with my AppleTV
- AppleTV running 3.0.1
- Time Capsule running the wireless network
Since the last update I've been having significant streaming problems between my iTunes library and the AppleTV. Streaming video was stopping every minute or two, downloading from iTunes Store was very slow, and even basic music streaming was stuttering regularly.
Looking at my Airport Utility client connectivity graph, I noticed that the AppleTV connection was plotting a significantly different line to my other wireless clients on the Time Capsule. Sorry, I'm not a Wireless expert, so won't try to diagnose this graph.
So I tried different wireless channels. I tried removing wireless clients. I tried rebooting all individual components. Nothing changed.
So I plugged in my Airport Express and swapped my AppleTV to a wired connection to the Airport Express operating as a wireless client in a WDS network from my Time Capsule.
Everything now works just fine. No stuttering, not dropouts, fast speeds.
My suggestion is that in the latest software for AppleTV, Apple have broken the Wireless code.

Is anyone else's computer performing worse after upgrading to Mavericks?

My laptop's battery life has decreased by at least a fourth and my computer now takes forever to load anything whether it's just loading a webpage or trying to open a program such as Pages or iTunes. Everything is just so much slower. My laptop also starts heating up faster and is loader than it has ever been after making the switch. OSX Lion was much better in my opinion. I have tried reparing permissions in disk utililty and that made my laptop perform better for about 30 minutes and then it went back to running like crap.
Please if anyone else has had this problem and has fixed it, please let me know a solution, I've been using a Dell now because my MacBook Pro isn't performing well enough.

Check Activity Monitor and sort by %CPU to see if any processes are hogging memory.
If mds and mdshelper are hard at work, that's Spotlight indexing, and after a few hours things should speed-up.
Also try Safari->Reset Safari

Is anyone else having an issue with performance in Mavericks?

My computer is brand new. Just bought it a week ago. Since I installed Mavericks, I have been having very big issues with performance. It now takes forever to start up, it loads programs extremely slowly, and it randomly freezes for a few minutes at a time. Is anyone else having these issues? I have already re-installed the OS. What else can I do?

Mavericks has certainly made up for all the problem-free updates I've had in the past! I have significant system drag (endless spinning beachballs....), Safari is incredibly slow, Mail - gmail & icloud - almost unusable. I'm desperately hoping the first OS update fixes things.

I have been using Firefox for many years now and really like it, now the version 4 is extremely slow, anyone else having the same issue?

I upgraded to version 4 last week and find it extremely slow compared to the previous version - like so slow that some pages do not even load. I have downloaded and gone back to version 3.6.17 and everything is back to the normal I have known for years with Firefox and it is really fast again...so now I know that there is nothing wrong with my computer and that the supposedly very very fast version 4 is much much slower than the previous version 3.6...so what gives? I'm not keen on going back to the new improved version 4, though I know it will not be supported soon...anyone else having the same issue?

-When it upgraded to 4 is VERY slow and freezes often

Windows 8.1 with creative cloud logged in makes Desktop slow, anyone else have this behavior?

So I had this problem I was trying to figure out for the last week with a new laptop. When I installed the laptop everything was lightning fast. After I finished installing all the software, Windows desktop was slow, particularly starting applications like task manager would show a blank dialog for 30 seconds. Outlook, would be laggy and CrashPlan Desktop application would take 2 minutes to get past the splash screen.
To figure this out, I created a 2nd user on the system and everything was fast again. So I started copying data from one user to the other. When I started connecting applications, I noticed the Desktop slow again after logging into Create Cloud. I then logged out and checked. Definitely has to do with being logged into Creative Cloud. Anyone else have this behavior?

I have tried lots of fixes including renaming files. The only thing that works for me is to remove the following windows updates:
KB2995388
KB2975719
Turn off auto updates before you start as you need to reboot afterwards.
I set auto update to the download but let me choose option otherwise these 2 re install themselves.
I'm hanging on for our free upgrade to Win 10 now....
