LS Communication Server Service Stopping unexpectedly

I have a 2008 R2 Server where the LS communication Server Service is stopping unexpectedly. It's restarting ok it seems, but the issue is resulting in the server not working as intended.
The service usually shows as Running in the Services Management Console. However if you watch it in Task Manager you can see it stopping and then restarting. It does this every minute or so.
In the event log I can see the following 7031 Event over and over. Not sure how to fix this one though

Do you see any related events in Event Viewer > Applications and Services Logs > Lync server?
What version of Lync is installed? Is it Enterprise or Standard?

There is no Lync Server section under Applications and Services Logs. There is an LS Applications, however there aren't any events underneath it.
From what I can tell, Lync isn't installed on this server. The LS Communication Server service along with 3 other LS services (Config Download Service, Linkage Server, & PTZ Tour Server). The role of this server is that of an HVR. It's designed to interface
with video recording devices and record that video. It's unable to do so.

  • SQL Server service stopped unexpectedly event ID 7034

On one of UAT server we are having  issue with SQL Serverices and they are stopped unexpectedly .There is failure details  in Event logs \SQL Error logs. we havent done any of the changes on server.
    Event id : 7034

    Hi,
so late but still, any solution you got or still  waiting for that?
Are you able to check os\sql logs and find out anything which may appear that causing and putting a cascading effect on the services?
Also you can add some more attempts for the services to try like below:
    Change the recovery actions
To resolve this issue, change the recovery actions that the Service Control Manager (SCM) will take when a service fails.
To perform this procedure, you must have membership in
Administrators, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To change the recovery actions for a service:
Open the Services snap-in by clicking the
Start button, Control Panel, and Administrative Tools, then double-clicking
    Services.
Note: For Windows Vista, use the
Classic View display option in Control Panel to see the
    Administration Tools.
In the details pane of the
Services snap-in, right-click on the name of the service you want to stop and select
    Properties.
Click the Recovery tab and specify the recovery actions for the service (for example, restart the service or the computer, take no action, or run a program).
It will be  good to share any logs around the time it fails.
    Thanks for sharing.

  • Cold Fusion service stops unexpectedly

With Cold Fusion MX 7.0.2, the service stops unexpectedly. In
doing this, the WWW service stops, as well. I have not found a
thing reagrding this problem. This has been happening for a while,
and on serveral of my servers. We run Windows 2000 with IIS4.0.
Adobe seems to not have a clue, which really bothers me.

You need to find out what is going on as your server stops or
hangs. First, confirm that coldfusion has really stopped. Turn on
the internal JRun webserver on one of your servers. Next time the
site 'stops', try to connect to coldfusion administrator using the
    internal webserver -
    http://localhost:8500/cfide/administrator/index.cfm.
If this connection works, then CFMX is actually still running. So,
then it would appear your issue is IIS or the connector between IIS
and CFMX. Confirm you are running the latest connector. Check the
    connector logs.
If cfmx has truly stopped there are several things to do:
    check the cfusionmx7\logs. Does the
application or server log show lots of errors just prior to the
stoppage. Is the application log full of errors - clean them
    up.
    check the cfusionmx7\runtime\logs for
errors, especially just prior to the stoppage
    Run
    thread dump - is there
a common template running in each of your traces during your
    hangs
What is your technical support incident number with Adobe? I
will be glad to work with that engineer. Email me your incident
    information directly.

    Hi,
I am a SQL Server DBA and I am currently working on setting up email alerts in case if SQL Server services stop abruptly.I have currently written a VB script which runs every 1 hr and checks if a SQL Server Service is running or not. This VB Script runs
with the help of Windows Task Scheduler. In case if a SQL Server service has stopped, this VB script immediately sends an email via. SMTP Server.
Please let me know if this is a good solution or is there any other better solution or is there any feature available in SQL/windows using which the same can be achieved.

    SQL 2008 R2
    OS: Windows Server 2008

  • IWS service stops unexpectedly all day

Installed 6.0 SP5 on Windows 2000 SP2. Web server service iWS will stop and of course the site fails... The following information is part of the event: startup: server started successfully, . )
and the other is event id 25

I have no idea what to look for or why it keeps stopping... Help...

I am seeing this same problem with the same setup (v6.0 SP5 on Windows 2000 SP3). I get event id 0 and event id 25 in the Windows Event Log, with no information in the server's logs, and the server restarts.
This happens when I run stress testing against my web server, with 5 different users constantly making requests to the server. Sometimes the server will run for an hour before crashing, and other times it will run for 5 or 6 hours. It seems very random. I am not seeing a noticeable memory leak in the httpd.exe process that is running, and my CPU usage is only at about 40-50 % (nothing else is running on the machine).
Manish's link in his reply to the original posting is no longer a valid URL. Is there somewhere else where I can see the information he was referencing from the old iplanet web site? Or does anyone know what may be causing this?

  • VXML Server Service Terminates unexpectedly

I'm having an issue with a CVP 7.02 install where the VXML server service keeps terminating on its own. The Event Viewer on the server simply states the VXML Server service has terminated unexpectedly and this has happened nn times. I have looked at all the logs I know of (..\Tomcat\logs, \Cisco\CVP\logs, \Cisco\CVP\VXMLServer\logs, and the app log paths themselves) but there is no indication of what is going on to cause the service to crash. The intrestiong thing is somtimes it crashs even when no calls are going through the system so I doubt that it is load related.
I do have a TAC case open on this, but i am just curious to see if anyone else has run into this before.

I have a similar solution for the Java Options.
This problem has come up for us recently on a different set of servers.
We are migrating a customer's CVP from CVP4 to CVP7 using tech refresh - so new servers - and the VXML Server (as a service) always crashes after 46 mins on both boxes. We have other CVP7s installed with no issues on similar hardware.
When it runs from a command window as I described above, stays up forever.
We have ES22 installed (that updates the JRE and fixes a stability problem with the service - similar to the JRE post I made above).
In the course of TAC trying to figure out the problem, they asked me to change the JRE options in the registry, so that if when the probelm reoccurred we would get a heapdump file in the HeapDumpPath location.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Apache Software Foundation\Procrun 2.0\VXMLServer\Parameters\Java\Options
    -XX:+HeapDumpOnOutOfMemoryError
    -XX:HeapDumpPath=C:\Cisco\CVP\VXMLServer\logs
Once this was done, it simply would not crash. If I take this out, it will only last 46 mins.
It writes the hs_err_pidXXXX.log files in WINDOWS\system32 and they say
    #  EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x002d002d, pid=8052, tid=7436
Current thread (0x4a2cf560):  JavaThread "Cisco Unified CVP VXML Server: Administration Connector" daemon
They always say the current thread is in the Admin Connector daemon, which agrees with the fact that it runs fine from the cmd line, but not as a service. The DE has no clue as to what's wrong and says something may have been corrupted during the install. I have a hard time believing this, as the problem is exactly the same on both machines.
Isn't it amazing that the change to the Java Options makes it stay up.
    Regards,
    Geoff

  • Error causing 'Adobe Central Output Server'  service stopped

A error message was logged in the Central Log as follows:
-Unable to remove file 'D:\Jetformdata\Server\Data\JF3A51.dar'. Permission denies.
    -Shutting down client agents.
    -Warning: skipping disabled task JfShutDn.
    -Exit
And then the service 'Adobe Central Output Server' is shutted down.
And when the service is re-started manually, everything is alright.
What event will trigger this kind of error?
Here are the Jetform server configuration:
    Window Server 2003 SP1
    1 GB RAM
    Thanks a lot.

When Cental does it's house cleaning it will delete files in the collector directory based on the "Delete Exension" setting in the Central Process configuration. Yours is probably set to da* and a file with the extension dar is getting in there with permissions set such that Central can't delete it so Central dies. Change the setting to dat and you will probably be allright. It looks like the dar file goes away anyway because on restart everything works fine.

  • SQL Server services having stop

We're using SQL server 2008 r2 but having lot of issues. My application running on SQL server but it stop everyday. SQL services stop then my application automatic hang then i restart the server then after my application work.

    Hi harigaurav,
If SQL Server Services stop regularly every day, then you can check the Start Mode for the services in SQL Server Configuration Manager, check the Windows Scheduler or use some monitor tools to monitor SQL Server services status.
If SQL Server Services always stop unexpectedly, we can configure SQL Server Agent to restart the SQL Server and SQL Server Agent services automatically. To configure automatic service restart:
Open the SQL Server Management Studio Management folder, right-click the SQL Server Agent entry, and select Properties.
On the General page, select the Auto Restart SQL Server If It Stops Unexpectedly check box.
Here, you should also select the Auto Restart SQL Server Agent If It Stops Unexpectedly check box.
    Click OK.

  • Automatically start SQL Agent service after SQL Server service fails and starts.

    Hi!
I have SQL Server 2008 R2 with two main services - SQL Server and SQL Agent.
I'll try to describe my situation. It happens very occasionally, but sometimes SQL Server service terminates unexpectedly. It's my log:

As you can see, SQL Server service  terminates unexpectedly. Then SQL Agent service tries to start SQL Server service. After unsuccessfully attempts to start SQL Server service, SQL Agent service stops itself. I have the option setting in SQL Server
service to start itself after unexpectedly stop within 2 minutes and it is works well. But I have to start my SQL Agent service after this manually. Unfortunately, I can't investigate the reason of my SQL Server stops unexpectedly and in this case I just want
to make the settings to start both of my services SQL Server and SQL Agent automatically after this.  How can I set up this? How can I make my SQL Agent service starts after SQL Server service?

    Hello,
SQL server agent service depends on SQL server service so unless SQL server service comes online agent will not come online so agent is depended on SQL server not the other wise.
Now is your server 2008 R2 patched to latest service pack (SP2).If not please upgrade it to latest SP.Some fixes are there in Sp which will subside this issue. Can you paste output of
    select @@version
    >>Then SQL Agent service tries to start SQL Server service. No this is not the case

Did you checked sql server errorlog and windows event log completely. Please do so and paste if you find some more info

  • RoboHelp Server Service Crashing

At random times, sometimes hours, sometimes days apart, the
RoboHelp Server Service stops and our server is therefore down. We
are running on Windows 2003 Server. I am using internally created
databases instead of SQL. What could be the cause of this??

I've seen this type of pb reported time and time again with
internally created dBs, SQL, ... . The only commonality between the
different posts is that everybody encountering this pb are using
hosting on a Windows 2003 server. Maybe somehting there... Never
    tested on a different environment
We have done intensive testing of RH server 6 and 7 on
Windows 2003 and reverted to X4 because of systematic crashing. Our
net admin made some pretty interesting findings on this (see
history postings on this forum from Peter Buelens). Generally
conclusion was that it was badly programmed :-).
For the quick fix, this could work for some but if the
service crashes 20 times a day (like it did with us) the amount of
up time will be very limited !
The best solution we found so far is to stick to X4 version
that seems to be a lot more stable. Only draw back, we can't
upgrade to RH Office version 7.
Any comments on this are more than welcome.

  • Database service stops

    Hi,
I am recently having a problem in one of the laptop used by our testers.
The laptop has got following config:2GB RAM Intel Centrino Processor,Windows XP Sp3, 80GB HDD
It has oracle DB 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.2.0.4.0 - Production,
    Oracle Forms&Reports 6i,8i.
Our appliction is based on Oracle 2Tier architecture.
When the user opens the application the DB server services stops most of the time. And the we have to start the services manually.
I Dropped the server and again recreated it but it didnt solved the problem.
Can any one give any input into this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Kumar

Check the windows event viewer and database alert log when next time this service stops.
    That might provide a clue.
Having said that, your system has 2 GB RAM and you are running database along with app server (?) on that. Memory availability is going to be an issue and a cause of problems too.

  • Windows Server Service Provider Registry fails to start - error 1067 The process terminated unexpectedly

    Hello experts,
I have a SBS 2011 Essentials installation that suddenly has an empty dashboard.
    Event viewer:
APPLICATION LOG - Event ID: 1000 Source: Application Error
    General Description:

Description: The application requested process termination through System.Environment.FailFast(string message).
Message: Unhandled exception in OnStart: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Not a valid Win32 FileTime.
Parameter name: fileTime at System.DateTime.FromFileTimeUtc(Int64 fileTime)
SYSTEM LOG -Event ID: 7031 Source: Service Control Manager General Description:
The Windows Server Service Provider Registry service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this xx0 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 60000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
When I try to start this service I get 'error 1067 - The process terminated unexpectedly'. I have checked all dependencies of this particular service and they are all running properly. I've restarted these dependencies, disabled Kaspersky
protection, restarted the Server a few times to no avail.
    Any ideas? Thank you!

I had this exact same problem! Thank you so much Robert for posting a link to that script! That is truly an amazing Powershell script.
I had all the same errors that AK772 mentioned, but I chose to zoom in on a different issue that the script pointed out. When I ran the "Test CA Infrastructure" step it found several errors. When I looked at what the script was doing there it was
comparing the server certificate thumbprint in the registry (HKLM:\Software\Microsoft\Windows Server\Identity) with the personal certificates (Personal Certificates in the Certificate snap-in using MMC). When I looked through them individually, sure enough
the thumbprint in the registry didn't exist in my certificate store. I have NO idea how this could have happened!
However, from there, I changed my Google search criteria and found the following excellent article:
    http://titlerequired.com/2013/04/29/windows-server-2012-essentials-an-error-prevented-the-dashboard-from-opening/
This told more about that error and showed how to regenerate the certificate identity in the registry. This totally saved me! Once I ran through the steps that he outlines, even though I got a timeout error towards the end, I could see that the certificate
thumbprint had changed in the registry and now existed in my personal certificate store.
Once I saw this, I tried going into services and manually starting the stopped "Windows Server Service Provider Registry" service. Sure enough it started right up, no error this time. Finally, I restarted the server so that all of the other dependent
services would come back up and re-ran the linked script above and everything was perfect.
Thanks so much for the breadcrumbs in this post and all of your contributions. I hope that this post will equally be able to help someone else through this very troublesome and evasive error!
