LSMW ERROR AT SPECIFYING FILES

Hi,
I am trying to create an Organization Units using PPOCE transaction code (batch input). I followed the process through until Display read files and Display Convert file.
I got this error that Unable to Read LSMWTest_OrgUnit_OrgUnit_REC.lsmw.read.
Can anyone enlighten me on why I got this error and how I can resolve it? Is it related to authorization?
Thank you in advance,
Sunny

Hi,
Do you mean that I should make my project and subproject name shorter becasue the file name is derived from the project and subproject name. Also, I am not sure how these files(conv and read files) are created on SAP application server. How you know how it is created?

  • File Error: The Specified file is open and in use by this or another app...

    I have imported a string of pictures and dragged them into the FCP timeline. I render them and it renders a certain percentage then it stops and says "File Error: The Specified file is open and in use by this or another application."
    After reading this, I quit out of FCP, restarted my computer, opened FCP, nothing other program, tried to render again and same thing happened. It renders part of it then the error message pops up, then I can render again and it will do another percent then it will pop again and so on.
    Suggestions, or does anyone know why this happened? Thank you very much for your time.

    okay - don't know where you've got your scratch disc set but hopefully it's to another drive other than your boot.
    The same drive where your render files should be located, ie some drive other than your boot drive.
    Can you copy the jpegs over to that drive into a folder.
    Delete them from your tl, delete them from your proj. Save your project. Close fcp.
    If they're on your boot drive - delete them.
    Reopen fcp and Reimport them from the new location.
    Sorry for all the steps - but we have no idea how you have configured fcp or your level of experience. Trying to cover all the bases ...

    FILE ERROR: The Specified file is open and in use by this or another application.
    I get this error when I import a .MOV created by Live Type. All applications, except FCP, are closed. I can reboot the computer and get the same thing. It happens when I try and "render all". Thanks.

    It's probably either spotlight looking at the files, or some anti-virus program thinking your render is a virus.

  • Cannot render files.  The following message appears: file error; the specified file is locked

    Suddenly I cannot render any project in Final Cut 6, because a message reads: file error: the specified file is locked.  Any clues on what to do?

    The reason we suggest searching is there are too many possible causes and unlikely answers and FCP6 was a long time ago.

    WHen i want to render a clip on the timeline it tells me this message"file error: The specified file i locked."drive and file and they are not locked.
    What setting do i check for this
    because up till now the program was rendering all clips on the time lne
    I have checked the the drives and files and they are unlocked.
    please advise
    i have to render the clip from the timeline as n export then bring it back in
    annoying !

    Before I ask you to check permissions on the drive you save your material and output files, try creating a new project, copy everything from the old one in it (highlight-copy-paste in new project) and save as with a new name. Does this work?

  • File error: The specified file is locked - HELP!

    hello,
    everytime i try and save my project i keep getting the error:
    File error: The specified file is locked
    i went to the project and "get info" and saw that the file is locked...i also noticed that every other file in my computer is locked as well.
    i just got my machine back from the repair shop...is there a setting i can use to turn off all locked files??
    thanks,

    Paste the text that Neil posted,
    *tell application "Finder"*
    *set locked of every item of entire contents of home to false*
    *end tell*
    into the white area under the Record and Run buttons. Then click Compile, then the Run button.

  • File error - the specified file is locked, Final cut pro

    file error - the specified file is locked, Final cut pro

    I usually get this when I try to save a project and it isn't stored on my HD(usually external HD or RAID). Sometimes I can do a save as and save it to the desktop.
    Sometimes everything is cleared up with a restart. It seems like it is a FCP7/OS developmental need which is mute because 7 is no longer supported by Apple.

  • LSMW : Unable to Specify Files . Logical path incorrect ?

    Hi Guys,
    I am trying to upload Goods movement Using the Standard LSMW 0110 program RM07MMBL.
    When I try to execute the step Specify Files ,system displays an error message "No Logical Path specified."
    The Source File is in my Local PC .
    When I click the Converted Data File in the Specify files list
    I get a popup which asks me for a Logical path and a Logical File and both these parameters a mandatory.
    I tried to maintain the parameters and entries in transaction FILE also.
    But it says 'logical path not assigned to the physical directory.'
    What is the correct method for this.
    What steps should I follow ..
    Pls advice

    Hi,
      Refer the oss note 753511 released for this kind of error you face in LSMW, I am pasting the content of the note below,
    ******************Note Content,
    Symptom
    The system issues an error message for the logical path or file when you perform the "Specify files" step in the Legacy System Migration Workbench (transaction LSMW) although you have made the correct assignment in transaction FILE.
    The error messages are as follows:
    The logical path <PATH> does not point to the physical directory.
    The logical file <FILE> is not assigned to the physical file.
    or
    A logical path was not specified.
    Other terms
    Logical path, logical file, transaction FILE, LSM Workbench
    Reason and Prerequisites
    Some import interfaces that you can also use with transaction LSMW work with logical path and file names.
    Transaction LSMW itself, however, works with physical file names. To be able to transfer the LSMW file with the converted data to the import program, you must specify a logical file name for the file with the converted data in addition to the physical file name. In this case, the system displays additional fields in the 'Specify files' step in which you must enter the logical path and file name.
    Solution
    The error messages may be due to several causes. Check the following:
    Have you maintained the logical path and logical file name and have you assigned them to the physical file specified in the "File" input field of transaction LSMW?
    These settings are maintained in transaction FILE.
    When you use logical file and path names, you must specify the name of the physical file with its path. If you have not specified any directory, you cannot assign any directory to the logical path in transaction FILE. In this case, the system uses the SAP Home directory on the application server by default. Bear in mind that the file name must not exceed the maximum length of 45 characters, including the path.
    Up to LSMW version 1.7.2 (*):
    If the logical file name specified does not point to the physical file (although it should do), the system adjusts the logical file name, that is, the information in transaction FILE is changed to the entries made in transaction LSMW. This may lead to unwanted side effects if the logical file is also used somewhere else. Therefore, SAP recommend that you always use separate logical paths and file names for transaction LSMW (the problem is corrected as of LSMW version 1.8.0, see below). If the logical file does not exist yet, it will be created upon request.
    As of LSMW version 1.8.0 (*):
    The settings of the logical file are checked but no longer adjusted automatically as in version 1.7.2 (see above). If there are inconsistencies, the system issues an error message. If the user is authorized to maintain logical paths and file names (as for transaction FILE: "Maintenance authorization for cross-client tables"), transaction LSMW can create the logical path, the file name and the file. Due to this automatic generation, the user no longer needs to make adjustments in transaction FILE. Therefore, we especially recommend this procedure.
    To display the version of transaction LSMW, select "Extras" --> "Display LSMW version" in the main menu of the initial screen.
    You should also bear in mind that as of Basis Release 6.20, that is, as of LSMW version 4.0, transaction LSMW is no longer an add-on but is delivered with the standard system.
    Hope this helps,
    Rgds,

  • LSMW: "Error in Uploading File" error code 6

    Hi All,
    I have created a simple LSMW project for deletion of Purchase Requisition in Development server. It is working as per the requirement there. But when I tried to Export the project and import it into our Production Server, system gives "Error in Uploading file".
    Hence, I recreated the project in Production system. Here again when I reached the step "Read Data" the same error occured. I wanted system to read the Purchase requisition numbers from a text file which i have already mapped in the steps previous to " Read Data".
    Also, system says "Error Code 6"
    Can anyone please highlight possible causes of this error message?
    Regards,
    Vishal Data

    Hi,
    first you have to check TEXT file data - why because you are tested in Development server with test data , but that same test date not available in Production server na
    prepare PR numbers from Production server -convert into Txt. format
    while running LSMW - close all Excel file and Text file ,
    at the time of Import and Export - system will start Specify Files- item - that time you will give Production data Text file then Upload
    I think now you can't face any error

  • LSMW Errors for Excel file upload

    Hi all,
    We've loaded an Excel file with 20,000+ records into SAP using LSMW and a background run. However, the LSMW returned errors for about 2,000 of those records and seems to have processed the other 18,000. Questions as follows:
    1. Is there a way to extract the 2000 records into another Excel file?
    2. If so, how can I isolate the 2000 records so that I can reload them with correct information?  I do not want to have to go through each record one by one to find them.
    3. How can I identify what the problem was for a record that produced an error?
    Thanks in advance. Points will be awarded for helpful answers.

    u have used LSMW which will normally create a Session which will be executed using SM35 in background mode...Goto the session and click on errors...the errors are been shown up..U can correct there itself or else prepare another one with correct data and do a lsmw once again.

  • LSMW Error When Uploading file (Return Code 1)

    Hi SAP peeps,
    Just upgraded from ECC6 EHP5(SAPKH60507) to EHP7(SAPKH61707), and trying to copy over an LSMW into EHP7 using export/import Project...
    The export/import works fine from eg. EHP5 to EHP5, but the import into EHP7 is getting an error... It's not even getting to the point where the .TXT file is even imported into the new system. It's getting stuck trying to select the damn file off the local machine...
    I've debugged it and this is what it's doing in EHP7:
    In FM /SAPDMC/LSM_PROJECT_IMPORT2, it's doing a call to CL_GUI_FRONTEND_SERVICES=>FILE_OPEN_DIALOG
    This is supposed to return 1x row for the .TXT file I've selected for Import (file from prior Export)
    The file entry resides in: CHANGING       FILE_TABLE              = l_filetable
    However, in EHP7, it seems to have a bug in it such that there are 2x rows in l_filetable - the 1st of which is BLANK!
    The subsequent read of this table and call to FM 'GUI_UPLOAD' is not very happy about this:     read table l_filetable index 1 into l_filename.
         CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_UPLOAD' EXPORTING FILENAME                      = l_filename  .......
    Exporting/Importing from EHP7 to EHP7 also has the issue - so seems to be specifically related to EHP7 Import functions...
    I've also debugged EHP5, and this BLANK row doesn't appear in the table l_filetable, and therefore the issue does not occur...
    Could this be Unicode related somehow? If so, what to do and how to fix?  The EHP5 was made Unicode compliant before the upgrade started as it was a mandatory pre-req...
    Any ideas? Anyone seen this before? Any thoughts appreciated... Can't find any SAP OSS notes related to this either... :\
    Cheers,
    Nick

    Hello,
    Please implement the SAP note 2066358 and test again.

  • LSMW : Error in uploading file ( step 9 read data)

    Hi,
    I am creating customer master data using batch Input in LSMW. I have 9 structures in 3 levels. The first struct is bgr00. The next one at lower level is bkn00 and then I have 7 structures bkna1 bknb1 etc.
    There is no error with the field mapping.
    I am getting an error that says 'Identification specifications missing for source structure BGR00'.
    Please help.

  • LSMW Error When Uploading file (Return Code = 7)

    Hi all,
    I got this message in step 9 'Read Data'. I've checked everything about file i'm doing as always. The fle is not open during the steps and file format is Text (tab delimited). Could you please tell me what is the problem?
    Regards

    RC 7 = unknown error
    you can just be sure that it is not one of the other listed errors:
    file_open_error               = 1
    file_read_error               = 2
    no_batch                      = 3
    gui_refuse_filetransfer       = 4
    invalid_type                  = 5
    no_authority                  = 6
    unknown_error                 = 7
    bad_data_format               = 8
    header_not_allowed            = 9
    separator_not_allowed         = 10
    header_too_long               = 11
    unknown_dp_error              = 12
    access_denied                 = 13
    dp_out_of_memory              = 14
    disk_full                     = 15
    dp_timeout                    = 16
    OTHERS                        = 17
    you may have to debug the read program. Click personal menu, then activate the box in from of display read program.
    you get a new step 9, which gives you the source for the read program. there you can set breakpints for the debugger, which will start when you execute the read step (which is then step 10)
