  • TNS-01169: The listener has not recognized the password

    Dear All
I am using Oracle8 Enterprise Edition Release 8.0.5.0.0 on Windows XP
    My problem is that
When I tried to stop listener by using lsnrctl80 stop it gives me the subjected error,
while when I stop the listener from Windows Servcies it stops successfully.
Plz note that when I start listener by using lsnrctl80 start it starts successfully.
Following is the information of listener.ora

Plz note that I alsed tried to give password same as the internal passwrod, and remove PASSWRODS_LISTENER but same error occured in each cases.
Thanks in advance for your help

I did not find the exact solution on the suggested site. only found the Error Code and description.
Then I searched on Google.com and found following result which has successfully solved my problem.
    LSNRCTL> change_password
    Old password:
    New password:
    Reenter new password:
    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=DBDEV1)(PORT=1526)))
TNS-01169: The listener has not recognized the password
    LSNRCTL> set password
    Password:
    The command completed successfully
    LSNRCTL> change_password
    Old password:

    Connecting to (DESCRIPTION=(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=TCP)(HOST=DBDEV1)(PORT=1526)))
TNS-01169: The listener has not recognized the password
    LSNRCTL>
Regardless of how you enter the password, through a single line or on the prompt, the change will not be successful. To change the password, you have to remove the line passwords_listener in the file listener.ora and then change the password.
    Thanks

  • Listener Error "TNS-01189: The listener could not authenticate the user"

Good morning. We have a dual-homed (one home is 10.2.0.4 and the other is 10.2.0.5) server running a 10.2.0.5 listener. We accidentally applied the April2011 PSU to the 10.2.0.5 home without shutting down the listener. The PSU installed correctly but the listener now gives the error "TNS-01189: The listener could not authenticate the user" when any attempt is made to run the following lsnrctl commands: reload, stop, services, and status. When the start command is issued, it informs us the listener is already running (which is correct). The listener is working properly handing off database connections but we cannot administer it.
Would installing the PSU while the listener was running cause this problem? Any idea on how to reload the listener? We even went so far as to deinstall 10.2.0.5 on the server and reinstall it with a clean cloned copy of 10.2.0.5. We also tried to create a new listener (which it did) but would not start the new listener. It said one listener was already running.
From EM Grid Control, we can administer the listener (make basic changes to the listener.ora file) but we cannot stop the listener from EM Grid Control either. (Not a surprise.)
    Ideas? Thoughts?

I have read the Metalink doc (Doc ID 285439.1) and it seems like the two homes are causing some type of conflict. I am just not sure how to resolve the issue. I tried unsetting ORACLE_HOME in both 10.2.0.4 and 10.2.0.5 SID environments. The error I get then is the basic TNANAMES error. That sequence looks like this:
    +>unset ORACLE_HOME+
    +>echo $ORACLE_HOME+

Am I not clearing out the ORACLE_HOME properly (as suggested in the Metalink doc)?

  • No luck importing from SonyHandycam DCR-DVD650?  I am using USB import to my MacBook that is running OSX 10.6.8. The MacBook is not recognizing the camera.  Any ideas what the issue could be?

I am not having any success in importing my videos from Sony Handycam DCR-DVD 650 to my mac book.  I am using the USB connection.  The macbook is not recognizing the camera.  The macbook is running OSX 10.6.8.  Any ideas on what the problem could be?

http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2361 There's a recommendation that when using this camera to record in the 'Standard' format instead of VR format. So if you know what the setting was you used to record the disk that's a starting point.
According to this website the camera should be compatible with iMovie '11
    http://help.apple.com/imovie/cameras/en/index.html?lang=en_US
So here's some steps to take to get the Mac to recognize your camera.
    1. Try it more than a few times, sometimes it can take 2-4 attempts to get iMovie to recognize a camera for the first time.
    2. Always get the power adapter for your camera out of the bag. Hook it to the wall outlet, then plug your camera into that. Don't run it off the battery.
    3. With the camera plugged into the wall, in DV playback mode. Hit play and just let it play video out continuously, then reboot the Mac. As soon as you see the desktop, launch iMovie. Go to File Menu > Import from Camera and see if the Capture window opens with your video playing through.
    4. Make sure iPhoto doesn't try to launch itself automatically when it detects your camera has been connected to the Mac. Sometimes it tries to steal the videos off of a camera and 'blocks' iMovie from seeing the camera when it's attached. So make sure iPhoto hasn't interecepted your camera and is not running at all when you launch iMovie
No guarantees, but some things to try

  • How do I access youtube videos on Safari?  Resetting the browser has not fixed the issue.

So far the issue appears only with youtube.  If I search, pressing "return" results in the image that's attached.  (It has not reappeared in Firefox or Chrome.  I just updated Firefox to 16.0.1 yesterday.)
It looks as though this might be an issue related to plugins, though I'm not sure how to proceed from here.  All relevant software updates have been applied.

Try some fundamentals such as opening Disk Utility (Applications - Utilities - Disk Utility) and Repair Disk Persmissions, run this 2-3 times. You can also Reset Safari, go to Safari - Reset Safari - Check all Boxes. Also while you are in Safari ensure all  your plugins are up-to-date. Safari - Preferences - Plugins (I believe) and update them.

  • Is Ipad1 still secure considering the company has not kept the operating systems up to date for this model?

Is Ipad one still secure considering Apple has not provided it with the proper operating systems?

With Firmware updates, Apple will usually offer instructions to complete the update, since they require an additional step to complete. It sounds like you haven't finished the Firmware update completely.
Since it's your computer and investment, I wouldn't risk it and would visit your local Apple Store and let them solve the problem. In the meantime, read this link from Apple:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1557?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
...to bring you up to date on the procedure.

  • I changed my apple id, but the cloud is not recognizing the new id. It keeps asking for the password for my old apple id, but when I enter it, it tells me it's incorrect.

I wanted to use a different e-mail account for my apple id. I had no trouble changing it, but now when I try to use apps on my phone, they don't work (and they don't sync with the corresponding apps on my other apple devices). It keeps asking me for the password for my old ID. I have tried entering both (old and new, IDs and passwords) to no avail. I went to the store where I bought the phone (ATT) and they tell me that this is a common problem. Can I fix this myself or do I have to go to a store, which is a hassle?

Did you change the name of the AppleID like described here?

  • I am running 6.1.3 on my iphone 4. In the last week, I have not been able to log into my Comcast account. The phone is not recognizing the user name and/or password. Both are the same that I use to log into email on my PC and they work fine. Any tips?

I am getting the same message when I try to log in thru www.comcast.net on Safari, the Comcast Xfinity app and adding Comcast to my email accounts. I've also turned the phone on and off with no good results. My husband had the same problem and finally opened a Gmail account and had his Comcast email forwarded there. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Have you tried adding your comcast account using the built in IOS mail app.
If you're using the Comcast Xfinity app, then look at their support site or ask the app developer.

  • I'm running V10.6.8 and the system is not recognizing a San Disc adapter that I plug into the side of the keyboard. This always worked in the past. Whats changed?

I'm running V10.6.8 and the system is not recognizing the presence of a San Disc (SDHC) adapter that I plug into the left side of the keyboard. This always worked in the past. Whats changed? I can't upload my images to a folder.

Another item I'd found when getting an SD card for an older camera was the lack of backward support from the SD card if it was too new, while a newer camera can sometimes use an older SD card at a slower read-write speed. There are limits and ceilings on what kind of card works with old/new stuff.
So I ended up taking a nice SD card back to one store and had to settle on a 'walmart kinda dubious kingston two pack a cure' for the older Panasonic Lumix. Smaller capacity but seems to work OK for the era. I don't trust kingston with macs, but this 10 y/o Lumix seems to not care about that.
Hopefully you can obtain the correct cards, because some stores only sell parts for their inventory of cameras. And some adapters are limited too.
Depending on what I'm doing with the card and the camera it goes with, I attach the camera to the computer and not just the card in a reader. That way I can file items inside the camera SD card in a way the camera won't overwrite them. Later when I save everything from the card into an external hard disk drive, all my filed folders of images by date (I created in the SD) appear in order, in the later archive. Easier too, when I burn to DVD or CD media, to create yet another archive away from the computer or the camera.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • My lightroom 4 will not import my files from my compact flash card . It has been working for years with out fail but now there is no import previews and it says the files are not recognized by raw format support in LR

I have lightroom 4 I've had it for years and it has imported my raw files from my CF card without issue . Now when I plug in my CF card to import new files it says import operations not performed and there are no image previews . When I continue by hitting "import" I get a pop up window that states "the files are not recognized by raw format support in Light Room"

Don't feel too bad.  If the D4S has as many menus and custom functions as my Canon 5D Mark iii its easy to get messed up.
If you downloaded from the link I gave you it will be Lr 5.4.   The link was just to show you when the D4S was supported.  The newest version is 5.7.1 and can be downloaded here.  Don't know your OS so you will have to pick Windows or Mac.   Product updates
On my Mac I just run the downloaded installer program (its a full version and not an small update) and it installs the new version and erases the old version.  If you are on Windows you will have to get help from a windows person.

For the past five weeks, iCloud has not recognized my automatically downloaded song purchases as songs within iCloud. After the songs download, they appear with the ominous striked out cloud next to a duplicate song with download cloud. To get a fully functional song library that I can use to iCloud playlists and use all the other wonderful features of iCloud, I have to delete the automatic downloads and download the new version by clicking on the iCloud download icon. This is tedious. I have considered just turning off automatic downloads, but I rely heavily on my television shows downloading while I'm asleep and being ready to watch when I wake up.
If anyone has a solution, I would greatly appreciate your help. I'm sure I did something to goof it up.

    Hi Giovanni,
The configuration you have wonu2019t work. You have two different web application servers: Netweaver and Tomcat. Your user credentials are only established in one of them: Netweaver. When you configure trusted authentication in Tomcat you have to authenticate the user in this Web Application server. The REMOTE_USER canu2019t pass from one server to another.
You can confirm this capturing your request using Fiddler in your browser.
If you want to configure the integration BI4 into SAP Enterprise portal, you can follow this guide:
    http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/BI4IntegrationintotheSAPEntreprisePortal+7.0.x
