LSO Correspondence - Language Setting

Hi All,
I have a requirement to generate LSO correspondence in languages other than the default English. We have customised all the standard correspondence templates in English and also have created correspondence in French. However, if a user logs in as a french user (with Language key chosen as French) and tries to trigger LSO correspondence, it still gets triggered in English. Can you please help as to what needs to be done, so that the correspondence gets triggered in French?

Hi Uthra,
You can change the output laguage in IMG under SAP scirpts > Correspondence>Form Layout -->Editforms.

Hi,
The values in that field come from FND_LANGUAGES_VL view. The data in this table is seeded by Oracle and you are not supposed to add/delete/update records in this table.
In case the languages that you want are not available, you may create an attribute in Person DFF to capture correspondence language and the list may show values from a custom value set.

No English language setting with European date formatting available

The English language setting in my iPod bought in Finland forces date format to the American MM/DD/YYYY style. There is no English language setting that would result in the European DD.MM.YYYY or DD/MM/YYYY format.
Either making date formatting separately configurable (as time formatting already is), or adding another English locale with European-style date formatting solves this problem.

Yes I agree, date format should be language independant. This is very annoying!

How do I change the language setting in itunes

I'm sure this is a very basic question but I just can't seem to find anywhere to change the language setting. I live in Japan but would rather use itunes in English as I've twice now deleted my entire phone book on my iphone and had to go to an old backup. I suppose I should just have my girlfriend keep setting it up like the first time but I thought the whole point of apple crap is that even a nitwit newbie like me should be able to figure out how to use it.

Where is the language setting in pages 5.0?

please can someone tell me where is the language setting in page 5.0. this is for the purpose of spell check, for example, change british english to american english, the word "personalized" is red-underlined because the current setting is in british english, how can i fix this? thanks.

hmm this seems like to resolve the problem only temporarily.
when i shut down pages and reopens, it jumps back to the british spelling. how can i make this fixed to the american spelling?

Which operating system are you using? If it is a Mac then you will want to make sure that English is at the top of your list in the Language & Text Preference pane.

Language setting in PDF'd Word documents

I have some old Word documents from another user that I change monthly and convert to PDF. For some reason, the language setting in the PDFs is already set to English US. When I create a Word doc from scratch, using Office 2003, the converted PDFs don't automatically get set to English US. Instead, the language setting is blank in the PDF and has to be manually changed in Acrobat.
I'd like to find a way to pre-set the language in Word so it converts to an English US PDF, but I've tried every obvious menu setting in Word without any success. Does anyone know how to set up a Word doc so it converts to an English US PDF. It would save me a few extra steps since we have to make our PDFs accessible here at work.

I assume you mean for accessibility. You will need to set that in either Distiller or the Adobe PDF printer. Those are the two parts used in creating the PDF, not Acrobat.

[BUG] Editing contacts with italian language set

This behaviors happens only when WebOS is set to Italian language:
1) when editing an existing contact, it shows up as a blank one, as if I was creating a new contact from scratch. Actually, the contact data is there, but somehow hidden! When changing it (so, actually, writing back from scratch), it does change, but can't see the original contents.
2) When creating a new contact, I can't add a phone number, while I can add other items (email, address, URL, etc). Saving it and then editing it, goes back to point 1. Thus, the only way to save a phone number is dialing it, then saving it from the Phone app.
I have an European GSM Pre, WebOS 1.4.1

First, when you do create a new contact (in Italian), what happens when you try to type in the Phone Number field? Does the cursor appear, or is the field grayed out? Does nothing happen when you tap on the "+ New Phone Number ..." field?
As long as I tap it, the field become dark grey, as it was somehow activated, but when I release my finger it comes back to normal and I can't type in it (no cursor).
Besides that, I can add a new contact. Other fields are working fine, but in the Email address and IM address field, the cursor doesn't appear on the very left (beginning) of the field. It stays almost in the middle, as it's keeping room for a button, and actually if I click on the left, it pops up something like an empty list or menu. Besides this glitch, I can edit those fields.
By the way, the phone number field is the only one that is 2 lines long (in italian). I don't know if this means something, but maybe this screws the interface up.....
Second, what happens if you change your language selection from Italian to English, then try to edit an existing contact? Are you able to see existing text then?
Yes; it works perfectly.
Also, try creating a new contact with your language selection set to English. Are you able to enter a phone number at that point? How about editing a contact created with language set to English while still set to English. Can you see existing data within the contact editing screen?
Yes, everything works fine, as long as english (US) language is set.
Next, switch back to Italian and view the contact created under English. Can you edit existing information without it blanking out?
I can't see the existing information; I can't edit any phone number obviously, because the field can't be activated. If I try to overwrite data by writing on those field that I know they contain data, it doesn't work: name of the contact doesn't change, and editing the email address (ie. writing it back from scratch) adds another address.

About language setting in owb 11gr2

I have a problem in the owb language setting, that all the message of error codes can not be correctly displayed.
It reads like this:
XOQ-01400: ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿
Maybe that's because my OS is in Chinese version, so Oracle or owb chooses by default to output the message in Chinese, which could not be correctly displayed.
Is there anyway I can change the output error message language to English? Is this an issue with Oracle language setting or owb language setting or both? Thanks very much for your kind help.

Thanks for your help. I tried your approach, but it does not apply to my case. I guess it's because the messages were not encoded in English when they were generated from the server side, so merely changing the client side ide setting is not enough.
I wonder if there is a way to change the language setting on the server side, but I don't want to reinstall Oracle or OWB, which is an onerous task and causes loss of data.

Wrong language setting

help!! i accidentally changed the language setting from english to something unrecognizable. how do i get to language settings again to change it back???

Scroll down to the last menu option but don't select it.
Scroll up one menu item. This should be Settings.
Press the Center (Select) button. This takes you to the Settings menu.
Scroll down to the last menu option but don't select it; in English, this is the "Reset All Settings" option.
Scroll up to the third menu item from the bottom one. This should be Language.
Press the Center button to select Language.
Select your preferred language from the list.

Foreign language setting??

It seems crazy, but I can't figure out how to put pages into a setting so that I can write in Spanish without red underlining every word...there MUST be a way...right?
If you have any idea how to change the language setting, PLEASE let me know! It would be much appreciated :):)

Click the Inspector button to open the Inspector window.
Click the Text button (T) in the Inspector window to open the Text Inspector.
Click the More button to expand the Text Inspector.
Choose the desired language using the popup menu in the Language section of the expanded Text Inspector.

You should create an initialization block, in which you check the language of the logged in user. The user who logs into Oracle BI EE can be found in the fnd_user table. Then you should be able to verify the language of the logged in user.

Sounds like your Apps Store is set to the wrong country for the AppleID you are using on your iPad. You need to go to the Apps Store on your Computer, and then scroll down to the very bottom of the screen. There you will see a little flag button. Click on it, and select the flag for the correct country. That should fix your issue.

LR 3.2RC Language setting

Nothing too serious but there is something strange with the language setting in LR 3.2 Release Candidate.
After installing it starts up in Dutch. OK, I'm living in The Netherlands but I like the language to be English. So I choose English and close LR. After restarting the language persists to be Dutch.
After trying a few times I decided to choose French, restarted and got French. Finally chose English again and after a restart, "voila", I got English.
Just can't find any logic in it...

In Windows, the current language of LR is stored in the Registry under Key "[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Lightroom]". This key affects all versions (2/3/3RC) of LR. It seems that somehow your first change did not get written back into the Registry.
