LSO - Course follow up

Hi,
In LSO_PV15 there are two fields namely 1) Participation confirmed (field = CONFIRMED) and 2) Course Passed (field= PASSED). I suppose the field 'Participation confirmed' refers to learners attended the course and the 'course passed' refers to the course test results (=Passed, failed or Not rated). In our organisation, for delivery method 'Classroom training' we do have test results so course pass/fail is not applicable. In the follow up screen the 'Rate participation' step is mandatory whithout which the course cannot be followed up. If I select the course pass as 'Not Rated' the follow up screen rasies an error message 'Unevaluated participant cannot be followed up'. Any ideas as to how to work around this?
The IMG documention says
Follow up participation (various options):
a) Follow up participation (no proficiency changes allowed) You can always follow up the participation, regardless of the participation rating (such as Passed, Not Passed).
Thanks,
Terence

  • Mass Qualification Transfer during LSO Course Follow Up

    Dear all,
May I confirm if mass change of qualification proficiency during a course follow up is possible? I've noticed that I cannot change the proficiency value in the mass change dialog.
    I am using ERP6 EHP7 Stack 04
    Thanks,
    Steven.

Hi Stephen, check your follow-up settings for the appropriate delivery method, via IMG:  Training & Event Management > SAP Learning Solution > Recurring Activities > Follow-Up > Control of Process Steps (table V_LSOFUPROCESS) and then have a look at the appropriate delivery method.  Ensure that the "Process" selected for the appropriate "initial" setting is "D - Follow Up Participation (with Proficiency Change)" and "F - Follow Up Pass Result (with Proficiency Change)."  Those settings controll whether or not you're able to change the proficiency of the qualification earned by completion of the learning activity.
Also, take a look at the relationship on the related course type D-A028-Q (course type imparts qualification) has a proficiency set against it in the master data of the course type.  From your screenshot above it looks like no proficiency was set for this relationship.
    Good luck!

  • LSO - Course follow-up when participant was absent

    Hi all,
Is there a config in IMG that I have to look at to have an automatic cancellation of a booking when following up a participant that was absent.
Currently, our system does not cancel participation as part of a course follow up when we rate the student as absent. Therefore, the course still shows up in that participants ESS portal under completed courses even though he did not attend.
Ideally, what I am looking for would be to automatically cancel the student with a reason code of absent.

    Hi Steve,
    Please check the IMG
Training & Event Managementl --> Employee Self Service >Business Ad Ins (BADIs) for ESS> BAdI: Set Up Customer-Specific Attendance Cancellation Reason
    This will clarify your Query.

After firmly booking the course, follow-up screen is in display mode. I am not able to select pass/fail/reason for fail on the follow-up screen. Also, qualifications are not getting transferred to the participants (IT0024), after follow-up is done.

  • LSO Portal - Course Follow-up Warning Message in Portal

    Hi Gurus
When i try to do the course follow-up in portal , i get a warning message after i complete the attendance & course assessment of the participants and when roadmap status is at completed , i get a warning message on top of the roadmap that "Your Course Follow-Up could not be saved". This happens in the LSO portal from administrators role.
We have setup the right control options at course type level.

    Hi Amit
I have checked the master data and found that everything is fine.
When i try to follow up from R/3 , i get a error message in the last step of follow up activity as "Error While data was intserted in the database".
Strangely this happens for the course which got over on 12-Aug-10 , but the same course which was on 13-Aug-10 , we were able to follow up the course from the portal without any errors.
I have checked the relationships , schedules,  correspondence infotype etc , all the data items are maintained identical and all the participants are active in the system.
    Am i missing something here.
    Please help.

  • Manage Course Follow up link SAP LSO

    Dear Experts,
I have a query regarding the Manage Course Follow up link in the SAP Portal. I am using only Classroom training delivery method.
In this standard webdynpro application there are 6 steps to be followed to complete the follow up process:
    1. Select Course
    2. Confirm Attendance
    3. Evaluate Participants
    4. Transfer Qualifications
    5. Review and Save
    6. Complete
I have a requirement of only following the first, second and finally the last step. I need to skip the intermediate steps. So how can these be hidden and the screen displayes only the 3 steps required?
Can u please suggest how can i acheive this?
    Thanks!!!

  • Course follow up out of order, incorrect Qualification dates

    Hello,
I have a situation where courses followed up out of order results in qualifications with incorrect start and end dates.
    Background
    - Course Type imparts Qualification.  Qualification is valid until 12/31/9999.
    - Course Type has 3 courses (A = 1/1/2011,  B = 2/1/2011, C = 3/1/2011)
    - Person enrolls in each of the 3 courses
    Scenario
    - Course A is followed up. Person has Qualification for 1/1/2011-12/31/9999. Correct.
    - Course C is followed up. Person now has Qualification for 1/1/2011-2/28/2011 and a new record for 3/1/2011-12/31/9999. Correct.
    - Course B is followed up. Person now has Qualification for 1/1/2011-1/31/2011 and 2/1/2011-12/31/9999.  No new record was created. Incorrect.
There should be a qualification entry for each course attempt.
    - Course A should impart Qualification for 1/1/2011-1/31/2011
    - Course B should impart Qualification for 2/1/2011-2/28/2011
    - Course C should impart Qualification for 3/1/2011-12/31/9999
If Course C followed up again, the qualification dates are correct, but this is a manual process (i.e. admin needs to re-follow up all the later courses in order).  Is there a programmatic way to ensure the qualification dates match the course dates when followed up out of order?
    Thanks,
    RM

I am very interested in this thread because I have encountered a similar problem with BLOB columns, except that I am also seeing this with CLOB's.
Essentially the all the data gets 'migrated', but the CLOB and BLOB columns are all mixed up!
    Any solutions?

  • Selecting Not Rated value for Pass field during course follow up

    Dear Experts,
We have some courses that are not assessed and as such there is no rating that can be attached to the participant. During course follow-up via LSO_PSV2, the Pass field does have the drop-down value 'Not Rated' but if we select it, the error message Unevaluated participation cannot be followed up appears.
Is there a way to make the Pass field optional? I've looked in the config at the Control of Process Steps but the only option is either Signature and Activate.
    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you
    George

Facing the same issue on clicking on the check box for followup.
Did you manage to resolve this?

  • LSO course authorization for Organizational Unit

    Hi,
Is is possible to restrict courses in a course catalog according to Organizational unit. In the system we can restrict users to specific courses through structural authorization, but is it possible to maintain authorizations on Organizational units for LSO Courses or course types.
    Regards,
    Asad

Disappering is the right behavior. On delivery method WBT participant type 'O' cannot be booked because WBT can be only accessed using Learning portal and Learning portal cannot be logged in using Org. Unit. So this is not possible for this release.
But i have heard in EHP4 this option of Org. unit booking on WBT is possible but not directly but system will take care if you select an org unit for booking.

  • LSO : Direct deep Link to LSO-Courses

    Hi there,
we need to build links to specific LSO courses which should be shown in an iView within our EnterprisePortal.
So how must the basic LSO-Url
<address of the SAP Web Application Server > <SAP/BC/BSP/SAP/HCM_LEARNING/LESO.HTM
be modified in order to deep-link to a certain course or course-folder ?
    Cheers

    Walter,
If it is possible to locate the URL of the course, you may try to modify the parameters in the BSP iView to point to the right course or course folder directly.
See the documentation: [Technical Settings for the Learning Portal|http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_02/helpdata/en/e6/e7cf3b8fe10428e10000000a114084/frameset.htm]

  • Course Follow up

    Hi,
For follow up of a follwed up course is there any settings in the confiuration,as a SAP standard functionality we can do the follow up for a course only once.
If a add a participant to a followed up course is there any other way we can do except unflogging the follow up button in course info infotype.
    Thanksa in advance
    VK

    Hi VK
The otherway of following up followed up courses is:
When you execute followup transaction you will see all the fields greyed out for a followed up course but you can perorm followup by selecting all button (Though the fields are greyed out select all button would provide you an option to make changes in the second screen)
Go through the following thread to have your problem solved.

  • LSO Course Program Follow-Up

    Hi there,
We are using Course Programs (EK) for many of our training programs.  We opted for either Course Programs or Curriculum Types but the beauty of Course Programs is it only shows learners (during follow-up) that have completed the required Course Blocks.
We don't follow-up the Course Program itself, only the participants.  This works great because Administrators can jump into the Course Program and if any new people appear in the follow-up, the Administrators automatically know they have been followed-up in all the required courses in the required Course Program Blocks.
The only gripe we have is that the Course Program Follow-Up doesn't flag whether a learner has Passed or Failed the courses within the Blocks.
For example, Person A has PASSED all courses within the Required Course Program Blocks.
Person B has FAILED all courses (or a portion of courses) within the Required Course Program Blocks.
Because both these learners have been followed-up in these courses, they both appear in the Course Program Follow-Up.  But obviously Person B has NOT PASSED the Course Program.  It would be great if it flagged this.
The only workaround we have is that our Administrators need to run a Particpants Booking report (LSO_RHXBUCH0) for every single person to make sure they have passed.  This is becoming very time consuming and it would be nice if there was a way for the Course Program to somehow flag this.
Is this just wishful thinking?  Is there any solutions or BADI's that can do this for us?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you.
    Shaun

    Hi Shaun Kitching,
Do you have Booking for personal an organizational unit? If so, As a result, you Run the Reports for org.unit and see the result of all bookings.
Otherwise, you can use BADI's that can do this.

  • LSO - Course Certificate Correspondence based on "Follow-up"

    Hi ,
We did define a new Correspondence which send the "Tanning Certificate" to the learner .
How we can have the correspondence to be automatic based on the "Follow-up" of the course ?
The Follow-up can be done in the Learning portal for an on-line test or via transaction LSO_PV15 .
    Regard's .

    Hi,
You can automate the process of followup action.
You can use the function modules
    LSO_BUFFER_PARTIC_CONFIRMATION and
    LSO_UPDATE_FOLLOWUP.
Is this something you are looking for?
    Thanks

  • LSO - Course type is displayinf free of charge when there is a cost fee

    HI,
I've created a price for one course type and would like to see it displayed in the LSo Portal if the employee checks the course info.
But when I open the course information, the Fee details are bringing free of charges.
How can I make it work? Today I'm not using the integration with FI-CO or billing. Is it an issue?
Thanks in advance for any help!

    HI,
I've created the prices in IT 1021 using LSO_PSV2, the price is not coming. I've found a SAP note that I'm trying to apply that tells me there is something wrong with this field in my current SAP version.
Let's see if it will help or not.
    Thanks for your reply.

  • LSO Course Program Issues (Need Instructions)

We are currently investigating the need for the course program functionality at our organization and have setup a few with mixed results.  We are running LSOFE603 and have been live for over a year so the portal and configuration appears to be correct.  If I subscribe to the course program then a course program can not be found error is displayed.  In addition to this I can book in the seperate course types from the learner portal but titles seems to be missing from the display.
Does anyone know where I can find clear step by step instructions on how to setup a course program? Everything checks out okay from our setup but we continue to have issues.  Thank you in advance for your response(s).
    Regards,
    Matt

use lso_pvct > Create Course program
Enter abbrev, name, language, & save
when you save, it will ask you to manage course blocks.
you can create sequential or non-sequential course blocks.
You must save the blocks before you can add course types to them.
Once saved, edit the course program > Course blocks
add your course types to the blocks; either sequenced or non-sequenced.
    config for course programs is
    1) number range intervals
    2) relationships for the course type object EK
    3) Define object type > Structure search LSO-l-ek
    4) Followup for course type EK
