LSO Course Program Follow-Up

Hi there,
We are using Course Programs (EK) for many of our training programs. We opted for either Course Programs or Curriculum Types but the beauty of Course Programs is it only shows learners (during follow-up) that have completed the required Course Blocks.
We don't follow-up the Course Program itself, only the participants. This works great because Administrators can jump into the Course Program and if any new people appear in the follow-up, the Administrators automatically know they have been followed-up in all the required courses in the required Course Program Blocks.
The only gripe we have is that the Course Program Follow-Up doesn't flag whether a learner has Passed or Failed the courses within the Blocks.
For example, Person A has PASSED all courses within the Required Course Program Blocks.
Person B has FAILED all courses (or a portion of courses) within the Required Course Program Blocks.
Because both these learners have been followed-up in these courses, they both appear in the Course Program Follow-Up. But obviously Person B has NOT PASSED the Course Program. It would be great if it flagged this.
The only workaround we have is that our Administrators need to run a Particpants Booking report (LSO_RHXBUCH0) for every single person to make sure they have passed. This is becoming very time consuming and it would be nice if there was a way for the Course Program to somehow flag this.
Is this just wishful thinking? Is there any solutions or BADI's that can do this for us?

Hi Shaun Kitching,
Do you have Booking for personal an organizational unit? If so, As a result, you Run the Reports for org.unit and see the result of all bookings.
Otherwise, you can use BADI's that can do this.

LSO Course Program Issues (Need Instructions)

We are currently investigating the need for the course program functionality at our organization and have setup a few with mixed results. We are running LSOFE603 and have been live for over a year so the portal and configuration appears to be correct. If I subscribe to the course program then a course program can not be found error is displayed. In addition to this I can book in the seperate course types from the learner portal but titles seems to be missing from the display.
Does anyone know where I can find clear step by step instructions on how to setup a course program? Everything checks out okay from our setup but we continue to have issues. Thank you in advance for your response(s).

use lso_pvct > Create Course program
Enter abbrev, name, language, & save
when you save, it will ask you to manage course blocks.
you can create sequential or non-sequential course blocks.
You must save the blocks before you can add course types to them.
Once saved, edit the course program > Course blocks
add your course types to the blocks; either sequenced or non-sequenced.
config for course programs is
1) number range intervals
2) relationships for the course type object EK
3) Define object type > Structure search LSO-l-ek
4) Followup for course type EK

LSO Course Program Objects - EHP2

Hello, everyone I am on a LSO Project and we have applied the EHP2 BSP, and we dont not see the Course Program Object "EK" within the list of Course Object, nor do we see the relationships that are associated with Course Program. Can anyone tell me how to correct this issue.

I am in the same situation. When I go to Delivery methods I can create the delivery method ( it should be in the menu as item 12) as a 9012 as the Delivery attributes exist. I just don't have the object - s/b EK

LSO Course Programs - set up correspondence

I have done some basic configuration to enable automatic correspondence for course programs (delivery method 0012), and it seems to be working because I can see the messages in SOST. However, when I click the correspondence history button in LSO_PSV1, the following message is displayed:
No correspondence history is possible for delivery method Course Program
Message no. LSO488
If I turn off automatic correspondence in configuration, I am able to see the pending messages in the worklist. Once I'm in the worklist, I can switch to the history log with no error. But I can't get directly to the history log from LSO_PSV1.
Is there a switch somewhere where this is activated per delivery method?

SAP released a note to address this issue:

Here are the manual instructions. Note that there are two fields in table labeled "Corr. History Support". Check the first one.
Go to transaction SM30
Enter "LSOTFORMP_C" for Table/View
Select "No Restrictions" for Restrict Data Range
Click on "Maintain"
Check the tick box for Corr. History Support for Attribute 0012
Save.

LSO Course Program

I have already implemented SAP Notes 1343228,1247792 , 1140483, but still problem is there.
I have checked`backend from Tcode LSO_SUBSCRIBE_CP, system is not showing the Participant selection filed. so from sap backend also i am not able to subcribe.

SAP LSO impart qualification on course program block

Hello,
I am trying to solve a problem with course programs. As you know you can create course blocks within a program. What I want to do is have qualifications imparted on the completion of each block. Unfortunately, the "follow-up" process that imparts qualifications is done only on the completion of the entire course program. Does anybody know of a Badi or user exit - or any solution - that will allow me to impart a qualification upon completion of a course block?

Does your course block have a required sequence to it? If so, perhaps you could impart the qual based on completion of the last course type within the course block as a workaround...

How to assign course program block elements to Course Block

Hi !
I have created a Course Program and added course program blocks but i am not able to add Course Block elements to it.
Please guide me how to do this. Is it related to EHP level ? We are at EHP3 level.

Why am i interested in "Course Program" is becuase our Training institutes has requirement of assigning five (5) Web-based trainings to a group of Management Trainees.
Out of these 5 WBT, one is mandatory for group & out of remaining four they have to complete any two.
I have tried to work-out this through Curriculum but it is not working the way we want. So interested in "Course Program" & its usability.

How to reopen a course after follow up

Hi experts,
I'd like to know if there is a way to reopen a course after follow up in LSO_PV15. The preoblem is the following, many courses were followed up without transfering the qualifications, so I'd like to know if I could follow them up again, this time transfering the qualifications. Is it possible?

Your approach is absolutely the best possible way to assign qualifications which you have missed imparting them through course followup activity but be very sure of the qualification start and end dates and also create the link b/w course and qualification to have sync data, if you have not maintained.

If you want to uncheck "followup" check box in Infotype 1026 for a course through PP01, first you need to uncheck "No Maintenance" in table T777i for Infotype 1026 (Infotypes per object type). However, it is not the best practice to maintain this infotype manually (especially after followup). If you have made a mistake and have no choice than unchecking followup flag in IT1026 you can follow above steps.

LSO course authorization for Organizational Unit

Is is possible to restrict courses in a course catalog according to Organizational unit. In the system we can restrict users to specific courses through structural authorization, but is it possible to maintain authorizations on Organizational units for LSO Courses or course types.

Disappering is the right behavior. On delivery method WBT participant type 'O' cannot be booked because WBT can be only accessed using Learning portal and Learning portal cannot be logged in using Org. Unit. So this is not possible for this release.
But i have heard in EHP4 this option of Org. unit booking on WBT is possible but not directly but system will take care if you select an org unit for booking.

LSO : Direct deep Link to LSO-Courses

Hi there,
we need to build links to specific LSO courses which should be shown in an iView within our EnterprisePortal.
So how must the basic LSO-Url

be modified in order to deep-link to a certain course or course-folder ?

If it is possible to locate the URL of the course, you may try to modify the parameters in the BSP iView to point to the right course or course folder directly.

Course program: meaning of validity period of course/curriculum type

Hello,
After the installation of enhancement pack 4, we noticed some new columns in the course program block for course and curriculum types: validity period and alternatives.
Can someone explain to me the (functional) meaning of these fields (maybe with an example)? I can't find anything in the SAP documentation about this.

How to register completed course into SAP. Please help.
Example. There is a course Type in Course catalog same Course type Learner attended in out side of the organization. Now we want to register the course is completed by this person or user. How to register.

As I mentioned in my previous message, since you already have same Course Type (Same as outside Course type) in your system you may consider doing following:
1. Underneath of the course type which is available in your system create a course with the same dates as your employee attended outside course.
2. Book the employee for that course, Firmly book the course and follow up the course to transfer the qualification to employee's master data.
For reporting purpose, you can use Description Infotype at Course Type Level (for ex: creating a Subtype or whichever way you want you can use it or you can have a custom relationship)

LSO - Course follow up

Hi,
In LSO_PV15 there are two fields namely 1) Participation confirmed (field = CONFIRMED) and 2) Course Passed (field= PASSED). I suppose the field 'Participation confirmed' refers to learners attended the course and the 'course passed' refers to the course test results (=Passed, failed or Not rated). In our organisation, for delivery method 'Classroom training' we do have test results so course pass/fail is not applicable. In the follow up screen the 'Rate participation' step is mandatory whithout which the course cannot be followed up. If I select the course pass as 'Not Rated' the follow up screen rasies an error message 'Unevaluated participant cannot be followed up'. Any ideas as to how to work around this?
The IMG documention says
Follow up participation (various options):
a) Follow up participation (no proficiency changes allowed) You can always follow up the participation, regardless of the participation rating (such as Passed, Not Passed).

Mass Qualification Transfer during LSO Course Follow Up

May I confirm if mass change of qualification proficiency during a course follow up is possible? I've noticed that I cannot change the proficiency value in the mass change dialog.

Hi Stephen, check your follow-up settings for the appropriate delivery method, via IMG: Training & Event Management > SAP Learning Solution > Recurring Activities > Follow-Up > Control of Process Steps (table V_LSOFUPROCESS) and then have a look at the appropriate delivery method. Ensure that the "Process" selected for the appropriate "initial" setting is "D - Follow Up Participation (with Proficiency Change)" and "F - Follow Up Pass Result (with Proficiency Change)." Those settings controll whether or not you're able to change the proficiency of the qualification earned by completion of the learning activity.
Also, take a look at the relationship on the related course type D-A028-Q (course type imparts qualification) has a proficiency set against it in the master data of the course type. From your screenshot above it looks like no proficiency was set for this relationship.
