LSO-Course Registration

Hi,
How to register completed course into SAP. Please help.
Example. There is a course Type in Course catalog same Course type Learner attended in out side of the organization. Now we want to register the course is completed by this person or user. How to register.

As I mentioned in my previous message, since you already have same Course Type (Same as outside Course type) in your system you may consider doing following:
1. Underneath of the course type which is available in your system create a course with the same dates as your employee attended outside course.
2. Book the employee for that course, Firmly book the course and follow up the course to transfer the qualification to employee's master data.
For reporting purpose, you can use Description Infotype at Course Type Level (for ex: creating a Subtype or whichever way you want you can use it or you can have a custom relationship)

LSO course authorization for Organizational Unit

Hi,
Is is possible to restrict courses in a course catalog according to Organizational unit. In the system we can restrict users to specific courses through structural authorization, but is it possible to maintain authorizations on Organizational units for LSO Courses or course types.

Disappering is the right behavior. On delivery method WBT participant type 'O' cannot be booked because WBT can be only accessed using Learning portal and Learning portal cannot be logged in using Org. Unit. So this is not possible for this release.
But i have heard in EHP4 this option of Org. unit booking on WBT is possible but not directly but system will take care if you select an org unit for booking.

LSO : Direct deep Link to LSO-Courses

Hi there,
we need to build links to specific LSO courses which should be shown in an iView within our EnterprisePortal.
So how must the basic LSO-Url
<address of the SAP Web Application Server > <SAP/BC/BSP/SAP/HCM_LEARNING/LESO.HTM
be modified in order to deep-link to a certain course or course-folder ?

If it is possible to locate the URL of the course, you may try to modify the parameters in the BSP iView to point to the right course or course folder directly.

LSO - Course type is displayinf free of charge when there is a cost fee

HI,
I've created a price for one course type and would like to see it displayed in the LSo Portal if the employee checks the course info.
But when I open the course information, the Fee details are bringing free of charges.
How can I make it work? Today I'm not using the integration with FI-CO or billing. Is it an issue?

I've created the prices in IT 1021 using LSO_PSV2, the price is not coming. I've found a SAP note that I'm trying to apply that tells me there is something wrong with this field in my current SAP version.

LSO Course Program Issues (Need Instructions)

We are currently investigating the need for the course program functionality at our organization and have setup a few with mixed results. We are running LSOFE603 and have been live for over a year so the portal and configuration appears to be correct. If I subscribe to the course program then a course program can not be found error is displayed. In addition to this I can book in the seperate course types from the learner portal but titles seems to be missing from the display.
Does anyone know where I can find clear step by step instructions on how to setup a course program? Everything checks out okay from our setup but we continue to have issues. Thank you in advance for your response(s).

use lso_pvct > Create Course program
Enter abbrev, name, language, & save
when you save, it will ask you to manage course blocks.
you can create sequential or non-sequential course blocks.
You must save the blocks before you can add course types to them.
Once saved, edit the course program > Course blocks
add your course types to the blocks; either sequenced or non-sequenced.
config for course programs is
1) number range intervals
2) relationships for the course type object EK
3) Define object type > Structure search LSO-l-ek
4) Followup for course type EK

How to find the LSO course in ECC?

I have heard that ECC6.0 comes with some SAP sample courses that can be played.
Could you tell me how to access them?

I don't think LSO comes with test content, however you can easily make some yourself by using the authoring environment and repository explorer. Just upload e.g. a Power Point Document. You might need help from BASIS-ressources to configure your Authoring Environment and Repository Explorer.
T-code: LSO_PUBLISHER will show you if there is any data in the system.

Course registration in workflow

Deal all,
As iam new to workflow, i will brief about my requirement,
logon to portal -->search for particular course -->book registration for a course
-->fetch basic employee data --> if employee position >= mangager --> automatic appoving and send notification mail to that employee .........else employee position < manager --> fetch course information --> if approval requires --> send it to line manager for approval --> he approves/rejects
>send notification mail to employee.....else approval not requires>automatic appoving and send notification mail to that employee.
if anybody is having idea on this please send ur suggestions,answers.

You have given the flow like

your steps should be like
1. Find the BOR first of all , if it is not in standard SAP then you have to create your own BOR object.
2. The way to find it out as
      a. use SWELS t/code to switch on the events
      b. execute the book registration process.
      c. use SWEL t/code to disply event trace - it contains the object type like event, BOR object and
          Workflow template.
3. Create the workflow by using SWDD - workflow wizard

LSO: Course notes, words get joined in portal

Hi All,
I am facing a situation in LSO. For a course, I am maintaining Infotype 1002, Description- Subtype 0003, Notes. Say in 3 lines I am maintaining it in this way
This course is designed for all the trainees in the organization so that
they all get to know the real time scenario that is happening for the
past few days before they have joined.
Now in the portal it comes like,

Look at the bold portions above. These words which are the end and start words of the Notes in R/3 gets joined in portal.
How to get rid of this?

LSO Course Program Objects - EHP2

Hello, everyone I am on a LSO Project and we have applied the EHP2 BSP, and we dont not see the Course Program Object "EK" within the list of Course Object, nor do we see the relationships that are associated with Course Program. Can anyone tell me how to correct this issue.

I am in the same situation. When I go to Delivery methods I can create the delivery method ( it should be in the menu as item 12) as a 9012 as the Delivery attributes exist. I just don't have the object - s/b EK

LSO Course/cirriculum creation FM

Are there any function module in the system to create Course or Cirriculum in LSO.

Hi Nash,
Is the below what you are looking for if I have not misunderstood your query :
1. Execute transaction PFTC.
2. Provide the Task type as Workflow Template and Task as and get into change mode.
3. Navigate to the Triggering Events tab and you can see BOR Object type
4. Click on the Green Icon to activate it.

LSO Course Program Follow-Up

Hi there,
We are using Course Programs (EK) for many of our training programs. We opted for either Course Programs or Curriculum Types but the beauty of Course Programs is it only shows learners (during follow-up) that have completed the required Course Blocks.
We don't follow-up the Course Program itself, only the participants. This works great because Administrators can jump into the Course Program and if any new people appear in the follow-up, the Administrators automatically know they have been followed-up in all the required courses in the required Course Program Blocks.
The only gripe we have is that the Course Program Follow-Up doesn't flag whether a learner has Passed or Failed the courses within the Blocks.
For example, Person A has PASSED all courses within the Required Course Program Blocks.
Person B has FAILED all courses (or a portion of courses) within the Required Course Program Blocks.
Because both these learners have been followed-up in these courses, they both appear in the Course Program Follow-Up. But obviously Person B has NOT PASSED the Course Program. It would be great if it flagged this.
The only workaround we have is that our Administrators need to run a Particpants Booking report (LSO_RHXBUCH0) for every single person to make sure they have passed. This is becoming very time consuming and it would be nice if there was a way for the Course Program to somehow flag this.
Is this just wishful thinking? Is there any solutions or BADI's that can do this for us?
Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have Booking for personal an organizational unit? If so, As a result, you Run the Reports for org.unit and see the result of all bookings.
Otherwise, you can use BADI's that can do this.

LSO- Course Groups and Course Types are not displayed in Spanish

We are having issues with the
data like Course Groups and Course Types not being displayed in
Spanish on the Learning Iview.
The Data in the Course Catalog is loaded in Spanish and
English and I can see the Course Catalog in Spanish when logging on in Spanish in the back end.
SAP asked us to apply few notes as below
#1247020 OTR: Texts are not transported
#448220 OTR: Text is not determined/incorrect text is displayed
We have applied the above as well and we had no solution.
However the Problem is NOT related to Texts/Labels as these are displayed in Spanish.
The Problem is related to the data like Course Groups and Course types not being displayed in Spanish in the front end.
SAP also came up with the below which did not help either.
The system will pick the language texts in the sequence
maintained in the view T778L. If the system does not find text in
login langauge , the application will search in the sequence
maintained in the view T778L .Therefore you can change the sequence
of the languages in the above view as per your requirement.
Let me know if anyone has a solution to this or has encountered the same problem.

Is this production or is this in a development system? The dropdown displayed comes from the standard tables. If it's working in development system and not in production, then the chances are higher that the translation didn't go through.

Custom workflow for course registration

Hi,
I have an assingment to create list where items are courses and when new item is created you can give max participant value. List and columns are ok. (max participants(integer), current participants(integer), open/closed(choice), all participants(text)
So this is what I want to do with workflow:
When someone wants to join the course, person will click "Join course" button
workflow starts and it will add +1 to 'current participants'
workflow adds display name of person to column 'all participants'
if 'current participants' is same as 'max participants' then course will change 'closed'
I can use SP designer with workflow 2010 so is this impossible?
I have possibility to use visual studio 2010 but i'm not very familiar with C# workflows.
My biggest worries are that
how to store all participants to one column (multiline text) with workflow
how to display participants column only to admin users.

>> you can hide this column from default view or maintain a different list where course name(lookup)
and this attendee (multi line) will be saved. You can add this multi line in master course list as well (depending on your design)
Using SPD workflow you can update same list item / different list item / and it has many other action.
For 'State Machine workflow' you may need VS.

SAP LSO Course Evaluatio Form format in LSO_PV15

Hi,
We have a requirement from client about Course Evaluation Form.
- When we open the course evaluation form in T.Code PHAP_CATALOG or in the learning portal the format is displayed in PDF or smart form.
- When the course administrator opens the same form in T.Code LSO_PV15 to complete the manual course evaluation the form is opened differently and the form display is not gr8.
Can you please help is there any configuration we would have to do to display the evaluation form in PDF format?

yes, wat your seeing is correct only, as administrator in ECC side it will show as 2nd screen shot.
In portal it will display as WDABAP application, like appraisal template.
and print view (PDF view ) is common in Portal and ECC side.

LSO - Course follow up

Hi,
In LSO_PV15 there are two fields namely 1) Participation confirmed (field = CONFIRMED) and 2) Course Passed (field= PASSED). I suppose the field 'Participation confirmed' refers to learners attended the course and the 'course passed' refers to the course test results (=Passed, failed or Not rated). In our organisation, for delivery method 'Classroom training' we do have test results so course pass/fail is not applicable. In the follow up screen the 'Rate participation' step is mandatory whithout which the course cannot be followed up. If I select the course pass as 'Not Rated' the follow up screen rasies an error message 'Unevaluated participant cannot be followed up'. Any ideas as to how to work around this?

a) Follow up participation (no proficiency changes allowed) You can always follow up the participation, regardless of the participation rating (such as Passed, Not Passed).
