LSO : External Instructor Fees
Hello All, I have a doubt regarding External Instructor ( External Person Type H). Please let me know, where and how fees of external instructor (Person) should be entered? While Creating external instructor/Person, there is no option for Costs. Is it in the course as the cost item? But in this case the fees vary from person to person. Thanks, Ash
Hi Ash,
With LSO Module you can to define demand, scheduling the course, billing and settling fees of resources.
In the main menu choose the cost item,
In the cost item you can define all costs of a course. You require cost items if you want to use the functions cost transfer posting, internal activity allocation for instructors, and price proposal determination.

VIJAYWhen you create Cost item, on the same screen, you get "Not related to transfer" and other option to transfer.So choose the option to transfer it will show fields for cost element and controlling area.Where you can give the required value.
It will be Cost transfer posting.

for your requirement raise one servoce PO for 1000-00, with item category 'D',
for that line item , it is possible to maintain sub-services line items,
but, it is not possible to maintain raw materials under the service activity ,
if you want to valuate paint cost also, maintain the sub service line item with short description ,
at the time of SES , u can create individual SES, for all sub services,

LSO: Instructor Portal for external instructors
Hi,
I would love to know, what your experience with this scenario is;
Instructors are 3rd party and need to access the instructor portal from outside the organisation's firewall. The HCM system, of course, is on the other side of the firewall, so not accessible for the instructor.
So, we'd need to set up the LSO or part of it outside the firewall and replicate the necessary data from the core system to this one.
Ideally, instructors should be able to
- see courses and delegates
- communicate w learners in a collaboration room
- upload material to share with learners
- capture delegate assessments
- see course assessments
How do you manage the requirement to have some data outside the firewall, but as much as possible behind it?
What are the tech options you use/considered to provide instructor access whilst guranteeing highest possible security?
You may not use this scenario, but have similar challenges with access for external delegates.
Any ideas and exlerience will be appreciated.

SvenSince you are asking, I myself would not feel comfortable exposing the services externally. Mainly because your "clone" system will have sensitive data and the services being exposed are part of the HR module. Although I'm not an advocate for Cloud based systems, this and also some other LSO topics are where the SAP on Premise solution really lacks behind. I'm sure there are plenty of implementations out there similar to what you are planning but that doesn't mean it's a best practice. Theoretically as long as your infrastructure is safe (firewalls, reverse proxies, SAP solutions up to date on security and properly configured, etc.), I guess you would be able implement it. I myself would look at other options (custom implementation of the required external services, mix of Cloud and on Premise, etc.).

LSO External Users booking courses from Learning Portal !!!

We want external user book a course using LSO. In order to do that, we have created the same user in Portal and R3 (using SSO). This user has related an External Person object "H" using infotype 1032, subtype 0001. The problem comes when this user booked from R3, and thru Portal we are not able to see any course at all..... If the user books from portal, R3 is booked as "US" object instead of "H" object. My questions are:
1. Is this configuration OK ? What else I am missing ?
2. Can results from courses be saved for external user in R3 (H object) ?
3. How can we save final results for external user using Portal ?Hi Chandra,
Thank you for your information, but is showing courses in portal. The problem comes with external user from portal, when users book a course from Portal, is register (R3) with the object "US" instead of "H" External Person. If we book the user from R3 with object "H" (External user) it does not showing any course in Portal. I believe it has something to do with the BADI (Assignment User ID to Learner)
"In this IMG activity you make the settings required for deriving the learner from the user ID. In the standard system, the user ID is used to find the person, who in turn represents the learner. If the SAP system cannot determine a related person, the user ID is used as the learner. For example, you can determine a business partner or an external person as learners with the help of the user ID and use these in the Learning Portal "

Hi ,
Currently we are using delivery method external elearnig with course content static( urk) infotype. After bookng and completing the coures we are directly uploading the results in HRPAD614.
Now, we are planing to go for Ext. WBT delivery method and want to use the fucntionalities like tracking progress etc, i konw that to use external WBT we need to use AE to get all the fucntionalities - need to maintain course type content.
Can any one please let us know with out using LSO AE tool can we get all the information using the url of the external system directly configured in the system.

LSO - external Person (customer)
Hello,
I created with PSV8 "external" persons for the Learning Solution. How can I connect the User (US) with the external person, so that the external person can book courses via the Enterprise Portal and see their history? How can external persons register on their own?
We have the CRM System in use, can I use these data also for the LSO?

As a general rule, the Object types like external person,.qualification, qualification group,Buss event group are created from the frontend.You can use PP01 or pp02 tcode.

LSO 200 Instructor Notifications
We are using LSO 200. When Instructor(s) for an event is replaced or removed, he/she do not receive email notification of change. Of course, the "new" instructor does receive a change notice. Is this a gap in system functionality or are we missing something in configuration? Any help is appreciated.

You CAN import 3rd party created tests into the LSO using the Authoring Tool. There are a number of SCORM conformant products and vendors that will output a SCORM package for you to import. Such a test can be added to a course as a separate SCO or be standalone.
Here are some SCORM conformant tools for test creation:
Articulate Quizmaker
Adobe Captivate
The issues come up when running reports on the test data. Since SCORM data is placed into SCORM tables in the LSO, the delivered reports for test will not work as expected. Custom reporting is an effective way to get the test result data you will need.
Import a test is just like importing any other SCORM content in AE.

By extrenal trainings, do you mean course type which is of type "External WBT" or "External classroom training"?.
If so, then usually information is exchanged bewteen the SAP & the other external system in a standard way through pre-defined messages.I have worked only through XI for such a scenario. In Exchange Infrastrcuture, there are standard XML kind of data which is used for LSO & external trainings. Through this, the booking,cancellation & other related data are passed on to the SAP system from the external systems.
For this to work, there are a few things that need to be ensured.
The same person should exist in both the systems.
For WBT, the course content is externally hosted & is linked thru infotype 5042 when the course type is created
For classroom trainings, the course(E) & not D is linked with infotype 5042 for external training details.

Instructor Information Report not being generated
Hi,
I have created a few instructors using the transaction OOER in TEM module. I am able to find these entries in HRP1000. But when I generate the standard report Instructor Information (tcode: S_PH0_48000096) the output is not displaying.
I tried changing the object type from P (Person) to H (External Instructor), even then it is not working.
Is there any SPRO setting which needs to be done so that this report is generated.

This report does not display the external instructor info (for this, you can use report S_AHR_61016527 with OTYPE H and reporting period All) but the resources which are created via t-code PSVR and assigned to a business event.

you can maintain this in that path: Human Resources -> Training & Event Management -> Settings -> Current settings -> Resource Management -> S_AHR_61011893 - External Instructor.
you can maintain:
1) Object (first name, last name).
2) Relationships (belong to a company).
3) Address.
4) Name format.

first you customize the external instructor in img-training and event mgt-business event preparatiion -resource management- create room and external instructor after that you have assign when you do in business event preparation-business event type and you can see the room and external instructor in the report the tcode is s_pho_48000096 where you can see details of instructors you have to do in book tcode is pv00 where you will do

From my experience you need to follow the following steps:
1. Create busness event groups
2. Create business event types
3. Create resource types
4. Create resources
5. Create external instructors (if any)
6. Create companies (if any)
7. Create locations
8. Manage integration switches (SEMIN rows in T77S0 table)
For the master data creaton activities above, you can create LSMW to make it possible for mass data upload.
After your business catalog and all other master data is in place,
1. Plan business events - PSVP
2. Create business events wth/without resources - PSV2
3. Book attendees- PSV1
As recurring activities:
1. Firmly book the events.
2. Cancel events (if needed)
3. Follow-up events.
