Hi Experts,
This is regarding LSO in MSS.
In MSS, manage participation, is there any possibility to have all the cancellation
reasons shown like in case of admin portal. Appreciate your help.

This is known std. behavior. It will take from T77S0 SEMIN WEBST
Sorry, this is not provided in standard but you can fulfill reqt. by implementation of BADI 'LSO_CANCELREASONS_C' and bring all cancellation reasons in MSS. Hope this will help you.

I need to pass the PERNR of the selected employee from the general information page to the BSP page leso.htm (package LSO)
I think it is possible to pass a dynamic url parameter by customizing the view V_T7XSSSERRES.
I am looking for the parameter I have to pass ???

LSO - Manage Participation (MSS)

In Manager Self Service (MSS), I can see courses that occurred in the past when I view the catalogue..... I should only see future events as the manager.
What configuration is required for this?
Also, I can also successfully book employees onto a course that occurred in the past. This should not be allowed.

Front end components are needed for LSO

Dear experts,
We want to implement Training & Eventmanagent in ESS portal. I searched in sdn .But i didn't get proper solution. It seems from EHP5 onwards these services /iviews are obsolete and TEM is repleced by LSO only.
for LSO Implementation which Business Package and portal components I need to be installed and which Add on to be installed in Application server.
our landscape: portal: NW EP 7.01 ehp2 , ess wda1.50 sp5, mss bp 1.51 sp5
R/3-----ECC 6.0 EHP5
please suggest me regarding Front end Software Components with SP's for LSO implementation.

Profile Match up and Training Event details without LSO.

hello,
We have requirement where we want to show Profile Match up and Training Event details in MSS.But we are not going to use LSO.
so now que is without LSO there ivew will work or not. Now this iview are present in MSS folder.Is this iview are using LSO function module because of that they might not work?

To make it more clear.... sorry for not explaining this initially.
1. There is a service in ESS(ITS) for profile match up.
2. For mss siddharth is asking from where does the data come in case of pv7i and 8i
So the answer for MSS is that if you need to use profile match up without LSO then you make use of the ITS based profile matchup service to identify how you will carry out a development.
I am not aware of any existing transaction for profie in MSS so you need to develop but the answer to your question is
"you can certainly use TEM (without LSO) to create profile match up in MSS".
This has been done for most of the customers by SAP as not everyone uses LSO.
Function RHPP_SHOW_PROFILE_MATCHUP will help you achieve this very easily without LSO.

MSS and Training & Events

Hi,
We are using ERP2005 (ECC6) and have implemented the ESS & MSS 1.0 Business Packages on EP7. I noticed there is virtually no Training iviews - I have created IAC iviews for PV7i and PV8i on integrated ITS as suggested for ESS but what do I do about MSS? Do I really have to install the old HTMLB MSS Business Package for managers to be able to book their employees on courses? Especially as SAP note 1007341 excludes support for the ESS-in-MSS workset...
I've looked at the PE-LSO Business Package, but we don't want to use all the PE-LSO functionality (or pay for the extra licensing) and I couldn't see a MSS part to it anyway - it was all ESS.
What is the recommended (and supported) solution?

I have been pondering the same question. If you have a look at note 720460, it says:
<b>Attention ERP 6.0 customers:</b>
Services in SAP Employee Self-Service based on the external ITS are no longer supported with SAP ERP 6.0 (formerly known as mySAP ERP 2005). For more information refer to SAP note 870126. SAP recommends to use the Web Dynpro (Java) applications instead.
As a consequence the ESS-in-MSS functionality as part of SAP Manager Self-Service of the BP for MSS 60.1 (HTMLB) is also no longer supported in SAP ERP 6.0. The Web Dynpro (Java) ESS-in-MSS functionality within the Related Activities iView should be used instead.
However, some services are available on the integrated ITS (e.g. Course Offering PV7I) and therefore supported for SAP ERP 6.0.
ESS services which have been converted by SAP to the internal ITS and which are included in the ESS-in-MSS standard delivery (of BP MSS 6.01 HTMLB) are supported for SAP ERP 6.0.
That last paragraph seems to imply that it's supported. Maybe there is a way you can link PV7I on the integrated ITS into the Related Activities iView?

Anyone know whether the LSO BSP application is compatible with MSS Self-Service for My Employee ....ie the manager acts as the employee.....

Hello Jambo,
unfortunatelly it is not. The ESS in MSS functionality is a hightly integrated application, with the XSS Floorplan Manager (FPM) as the integrating part. The LSO BSP application does not have access to this FPM. Thus it would not get notified if you select an employee.
A possible solution tho could look like this:
Create a FPM application (WD Java) which serves as a proxy application

Call the BSP application within this WD Java application and somehow pass the pernr to it.

Integrating LSO with EP

Hi
I am required to integrate learning solution with EP 7.0 (NW2004s). If anyone has installed the LSO BP in EP 7.0, please share your experiences with me and also please provide related links or information. Also let me know what steps I need to consider for implementing LSO because LSO doesnt seem to be like ESS in terms of installation and configuring the portal.

Hi,
We did install a new EP 7.0 with ESS/MSS/LSO with ERP 2005 backend.
While installing the EP 7.0 Portal by SAPINST, we selected the following Software Units in the Usage Type screen to install the required packages. (You may have different requirement in this screen based on your Scenarios.)
- BP ERP
- LSOCP
- XSS
- AS Java
- BI Java
- EP
This installed all the required components. We created a BSP iview for HCM_LEARNING in the Portal and attached to a Role. Thats all we did in the Portal related to Learning solution.

Dear Friends,
We are implementing E-Recruitment, ESS/MSS, and E-Learning for our client. We are having PA, OM, Time and payroll already in place. We configured EP 6.0 with ESS/MSS deployed in the portal.
Now we are looking for E-Rec. **Do we need to deploy E-Rec and E-Learning in the same portal where ESS/MSS is there or else E-Rec in different.**
Do these 2 sub modules come as seperate business packages or else a part of ESS/MSS. If it needs to be deployed in different portal then how the integration will happen with MSS?
What are the components we need to deploy for E-Recruitment? Does it come as seperate tab like ESS/MSS or else a link within ESS/MSS?
Kindly guide us.

I am assuming from the info that is given by you that you are not going ahead with Ehp4 versions of LSO & eReccruiting. In such a case, you have the following options.
eRecruiting : Can be in the same instance as the core SAP HR or in a different system. Also, portal is not a MUST for versions Ehp4 and below.WAS is enough. The choice of UI can be either BSP or WDA.Full UI version of WDA is with Ehp4 only.
In the same server scenario, the portal system is connected with the SAP HR system.
In a different server scenario, core HR is linked to eREC using ALE & eRec in turn is linked to the portal system. (useful only for MSS role with eREc as you are not using the other roles for eRec availble in Ehp4)
LSO : Here too, the learning portal can be in the same portal as your ESS and MSS and connected to the core HR.The implementation options too can vary for the LSO:
Option 1 : LSOFE,LSO CP and LSO TM in the same server
Option2 : LSOFE and LSOCP in a different server from LSO TM
Option3 : All 3 in different servers.
You can use the content administration of your ESS/MSS portal for your Content management

Should I activate LSO?

Dear all,
Basically what I need are the functions in Training and Event Management. However, LSO provides the "Curriculum Type", which is something I want. So we want to use the LSO T-Codes (e.g. LSO_PSV1, LSO_PVCT) for operations instead of the traditional one.
In this case, should I:
1. Activate the business functions for LSO in SFW5?
2. Should I activate LSO in SPRO > Training and Event Management > SAP Learning Solution > Activate/Deactivate SAP Learning Solution?
3. Is there anything I must configure in LSO before I can run everything smoothly? (Currently I know that I must maintain the number range for course participation document if I want to book by LSO_PSV1)

Short answer is yes.
If you don't activate LSO, you'll be using TEM which does not support 'Curriculum'.
What EHP are you on? In EHP4 or EHP5, LSO comes pre-activated i.e. you don't need to activate it in the IMG node.
If you want to use TEM, you use the TEM tcodes, if you want to use LSO, you implement the portal functions and use LSO tcodes.
Activating the business functions is not required unless you want to use the 'Course Program' and the other Portal business packages - MSS for LSO, Instructor portal and BI dashboards.

Business Events iview - to include LSO web courses

Good day. I'm new to the Sap World, this explains my question. Our R/3 is SAP ERP Central Component (ECC) 5.0 and portal is SAP NetWeaver 2004. My question is related to HCM and LSO. For MSS - Employee Data - Personnel Development - Business Event the iview calls function hrwpc_rfc_ep_read_events which displays business events/classroom courses (E) but no web courses (ET). We need to integrate both in the iview. Does SAP has a solution for this, under the given implementation? Could I change the code myself, where can I find info for this? Which are my options? Any help will be appreciated.

You can always display Trainings of the employee including E-Learnings & classroom training of the employees you are managing.
Check the data ,if the employee is enrolled to a E-learning object ET, secondly, check if the manager has authorizatuion to display object ET & relationship of participation (IT 1001) .You can check with the help of trace on the MSS user when tring to load this iviiew if there are any authorization failures.

Manage Mandtory Assignment in LSO

In MSS Portal for LSO I have link called as ' Manage Mandatory Assignmnet'. I have assigned the Course Type for a person under this link and have observed a relaitonship is created between D and P (A 615).
I need to understand the whole functionality of this link. Need to know the utilisation of this link.

The person needs to have a participation record valid during the period of assignment. Let me explain a scenario where the
person has attended the course . However his superior feels that he needs to improve his proficency and makes the same course again mandatory by creating a new assignment. To enforce this the application needs to look for the existence of a valid participation during the assignment period.

In Portal, if the Learning Portal page is added in the Employee Self Service role then, the portal test ser should have Employee Self Service role.
Please ask Portal consultant of your team to identify the role and assign it to the Portal test user which you are using for testing.
And in Org Structure there should be a manager for that test user. This manager user should have manager self service role in Portal so that a work flow Task will get created in Manager's inbox in MSS.
