LSO - Manage Participation (MSS)

In Manager Self Service (MSS), I can see courses that occurred in the past when I view the catalogue..... I should only see future events as the manager.
What configuration is required for this?
Also, I can also successfully book employees onto a course that occurred in the past. This should not be allowed.

LSO - Manage Participation

In MSS (Manager Self Service), Manager cannot book employees when the optimum no. of attendees has been reached. Should be able to book until the maximum has been reached.
How this can be taken care of through configuration?

I already saw a screenprint of how the application should look like. On the screenprint the field: participant shows the possiblity to call up a selection screen. This is missing in our application. Does anyone have a clue?

MSS Manage Participants Course Catalog

Hello All,
I was wondering if there was a way to limit the available course groups shown in the Course Catalog in the Manage Participants application (Employee Course Assignment).

Otherwise you might want to try limiting the course catalog using structural authorizations.

Issue in direct reportees for manager in MSS Team

Hi all,
I have configured my system according to the document Manager Self-Service (MSS) - MSS team view, managers who do not hold chief position prepared by Mohsin Syed .
In MSS-> Team -> Employee information I am getting the direct employees even the manager is not chief.
But my problem is same manager cannot see the direct reportes in other places say : attendance overview , employee course assignments-> manage participants etc..
see the screenshots : In the same page, no direct reporting employee for attendance over view , but there is for Team calendar.
For the same manager, if he try to book for training, there is no direct reportees.
What I have missed ..please guide me what to do..

Dear Mohsin,
In the Table TWPC_DAATAVWGRP, I have created the new entry 'MSS_LAV_EE1. Assigned to group of Data views in "MSS_LAV_EE_DIR1".
Then in Object and Data Provider -> Organizational Structure Views -> Group Organizational Structure Views,
MSS_LAV_EE -> Assign Organizational view , I have added 1 more entry MSS_LAV_EE_DIR1(Direct Reports)
Then In NWBC I have got a new option Direct Reports and under that I have got 1 person as Absent. but 2 person at work is not showing. Actually there are 3 direct reportees to him.
this is 1 concern
Under Working time->Attendance overview->Select Employees, it is like this :
1 more thing.
Under MSS-> Team-> Employee course Assignments-> Manage Participants : For manager who is Chief can see all direct reportees and book training for them.
For manager who is not chief are not getting the direct reportees so that he cannot book training for them.
If I can retrieve the direct reportees here, then all issues are solved.
Kindly help me with what changes I have to make in system.

LSO_MSS Manage Participation Employee Name is missing

Helo All,
I am facing a strange problem in LSO.
When Manager access the Manage Participation iview, Under Direct Reportees, we could see Object Type as P, Position and Org Unit.
But Employee name is missing. Instead of Name dot(.) is displayed.
I checked his roles and authorisataions. everything looks ok for me, and i also checked with other managers login, all others are able to see name of the employee.
That will be great, if you can provide me your inputs.

Steps to Create Infoset Query (SAP Query)
Steps on how to proceed to create a Query:
ADHOC QUERY
A query can be created to extract information from master records i.e Infotypes. For example, by creating a query , the data relating to an employee contained in various Infotypes can be extracted.
Proceedure :
Decide on the various Infotypes we want to make the query. Decide on the area where we want to query i.e Global area or Standard area. Standard area is client specific and globel area will include all clients.
Menu : HR u2013 PM u2013 Admn - Information System - Adhoc Query
Select area standard and select the user group already created
Creation of new query :
TC SQ03 - Select Environment u2013 Select Standard Area - Enter -- If new user group is to be created, enter name of the user group, click on create and enter necessary information and exit after saving
TC SQ02 - Enter name of the Infoset u2013 Create u2013 enter name of Infoset - Data source -- > Table join by basis table u2013 give name of table e.g pa0000 - Enter - Click on insert table if we want to include more tables u2013 give name of table one by one and after finishing, place cursor on the joining lines and right click to delete unwanted relationships - check - and go back - field groups - include all table fields - click on generate button   - go out
TC SQ03 - Select user group -   eg. Payroll
Infoset - Enter name of newly created Infoset
Assign users and Infosets - Assign infosets - put tick on payroll - save and go back
TC PAAH - Expand the nodes and put tick on relevant fields depending upon necessity
Save the query by giving the same name as infoset for easyness..

ECM (Compensation Management) in MSS

Hi ,
We just did install ESS/MSS ( version mySAP ERP 2004), and did not find any Compensation Management compoment under the MSS menu in the portal .
Is Compensation Management in MSS standard SAP ? Or other installation need to be done ?
Any Help/Experiences is welcome .

In ECM there are 2 parts;
Budgeting & ECM Admin.
The Budgeting for ECM is done using BSP.
Compensation Planning is done using MSS and further processing for ECM is done using R/3.
So for ECM, only compensation planning can be done using MSS.
To navigate, Click on Manager Self Service --> Planning --> Compensation Planning or Compensation Approval.

IView for assigning substitute for a manager in MSS

Hi Gurus
Is there any inbuilt iView (in mySAP EPR 2004 or 2005) for assigning a substitute for a manager when manger is not available or goes on leave so that managers MSS tasks can be carried by his substitute/assistant/backup manager etc.

I would like to add a link to learning solution in the part Self Services for My Employee (ESS in MSS)
I need to pass the PERNR of the selected employee from the general information page to the BSP page leso.htm (package LSO)
I think it is possible to pass a dynamic url parameter by customizing the view V_T7XSSSERRES.
I am looking for the parameter I have to pass ???
Any ideas?

Hiring Manager in MSS Create Requisiton Request

Hi,
When creating a requisition request you can enter HIRING MANAGER in the pdf-form. Then after the form has been through the approval at the upper-manager and approved, the value from the field HIRING MANAGER is not transferred to the requisition's field "Hiring Mangager" under Basis Data that the Recruiter can see on the Recruiter's Dashboard: Requisitions in the Recruiter role.
My question is whether it is meant like this and HIRING MANAGER in the pdf-form is only used for finding the manager in the workflow (for the rule)? Or it is an error?
We are using BP for MSS EhP4 SP04 + ERECRUIT 604 SP04 + BP for MSS 1.41 SP04+ BP for Recruiter 1.40 SP04 + HCM_ERC_CI_3 + HCM_MSS_ERC_CI_1.

Hello smit ,
You can find out the enhancement ( BADI defnition ) that corresponds to MSS Requisition request .
Debugging the same will let you know why the error is coming .
You could also be due to config done under MSS -> recruitment.

Talent Management in MSS.

I am implementing Manager Self-Service for BP 1.41. And want know , Why does not appear in the navigation area the following workset Talent Management, Recruiting?
What is the cause? What should I do??

This is because you are still accessing the old MSS role...
through user admin assign the new MSS role from the EhP4 folder and you will get the Talent Management link...
Instead of the role - pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.manager_self_service
Assign the role - pcd:portal_content/com.sap.pct/line_manager/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.bp_folder/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.14.roles/com.sap.pct.erp.mss.manager_self_service

Batch job to follow up WBT participation in LSO (confirm participation)

Hi,
We are finding a lot of our users in LSO are neglecting to click on "Confirm Participation" in the Learning Portal after successfully completing their web-based training.
Of course, this means that the course remains in their "current" training activities area and most importantly, this means that the qualification related to this course type is not imparted.
Due to this, we are looking at setting up a batch job to run nightly. This job will look for situations where a person has successfully completed eLearning but neglects to confirm participation. In these cases, the system will confirm participation for them.
What is the best way to make this happen?

"Our WBT courses do not get followed up at all in the new standard way."
We experienced this as well after implementing the solution in note 1796928. The cause of our problem turned out to be a missing authorization on the user account we use to run the web content player. In our case, the user had no read authority for infotype 1001 so function LSO_LA_SAVE_LEARNINFO_C never made the call to function ZLSO_IF_AUTO_CONFIRM.
To discover the cause, we needed to debug function LSO_LA_SAVE_LEARNINFO_C, however since it runs in a separate task we couldn't debug directly.
To get around this, we added messages of type X at various points in the function's enhancement code. This forced the function to dump at runtime, and we then looked at the runtime error log to see the contents of the dump message. This enabled us to find the problem. Maybe you could try this same debug-via-dump approach to identify the source of your problem.
Another thing to check is that users have authorization object P_LSO_FOUP.
I also want to mention that as part of our implementation, we made the same enhancement to function LSO_CP_WRITE_SCORMDATA as was made to function LSO_LA_SAVE_LEARNINFO_C so that function LSO_CP_WRITE_SCORMDATA also calls function ZLSO_IF_AUTO_CONFIRM.

Enterprise Compensation Management in MSS - Missing??

Hi,
We've installed the MSS 1.0 Business Packages and we intend to use ECM. Our HCM backend is ECC 6.0 and the Portal is 7.0.
Trouble is, I cannot find the ECM workset in the Portal Content under "Content Provided by SAP" folder. I asked the Basis team to install the BP again, in case there was a mistake in the first installation, but that did not help.
I looked through the help documentation for MSS BP 1.0 and in the release note it is stated that the iViews for ECM in MSS no longer exist, but further down the help tree, it explains the various iViews for ECM!!
Needless to say, I'm very confused! Does it mean ECM in MSS not available in 1.0 and I have to install a lower version (MSS 60.xx) to have this functionality? Or perhaps there something special that I need to install or configure?

reasons shown like in case of admin portal. Appreciate your help.

This is known std. behavior. It will take from T77S0 SEMIN WEBST
Sorry, this is not provided in standard but you can fulfill reqt. by implementation of BADI 'LSO_CANCELREASONS_C' and bring all cancellation reasons in MSS. Hope this will help you.

Sort of field Approval in MSS Approval time by manager

Hello Experts,
When I use the Time approval by the manager in MSS, in the approval field I can choose from Approve (all), Reject (all) or Resubmit (all). Standard the screen opens with Approve (all). Does anyone know if this order can be changed and that the screen starts with Resubmit all?

Well this will require both the front end and backend changes
The RFC Function Module called is HRMSS_CAT_WD_APPROVAL. I believe
values for the approval column are either fetched from backend
(FM HRMSS_CAT_WD_APPROVAL) or are coded in webdynpro application
sap.com/msscatapproval.
