LSO offline player configuration

hi team,
Could someone shed some light on LSO offline player post installation configuration. The standard installation guide doesn't talk anything about the offline player configuration.
As per my knowledge, the offline player installed on the local PC directly connects to Content Player through http session, so is there anything that we need to mention like Content player URL in the offline player. so that it will directly interact with Content player everytime.
i believe there are won't be any functional changes in the backend right, on the LSOFE. please explain.

Where as i know there is no functional change required for this other than normal configuration for LSO.
Need to provide credential whenever you want to connect to backend system .

  • LSO- offline player-Is the content secure?

    Hi
Is it possible to record the content in a PC or write the content in a CD from offline player? meaning is the content is secure?

We have a concern that if we allow offline player, it may allow employees to record the course on a CD and is there any possibility to restrict this.

  • LSO online tests via offline player

    Hello,
Is it possible to use the offline player to download the test and make it locally?
When I look in the help provided with offline player I can see that it only mentions
    WBT.

You can configure offline player to have the learner select the location of the content "Show selection dialog for Data Sources" in the offline player configuration. When the learner books the course in the portal and selects to take the course offline"Download Course, a dialog will appear which asks to either identify where the course is located locally or download the source online.
The learner can select the local source and click "local available source". I like this method because it allows the learner to choose if they want to download or use local distributed content.
Let me know if this helps.
    Cheers

  • Offline Player : Synchronize course is always disabled

    Hi All,
I am trying to download a course, play it offline and synchronize back to portal to update the learning progress.
Downloading of the course is succesfully done, but Synchronize course is always disabled.See the attached screen shot
I downloaded 3 or 4 courses, synchronize is disabled for every course.
Currently I am using LSO offline Player SP10(LSOOP6010_0-20000709.EXE)
I could not find a way to enable Synchronize.
Do we need to configure any other things to enable Synchronize
    Please suggest

    Hi Rubert,
I am not sure why that synchronize is disabled.
But I found way to Synchronise courses..
Once you download the course with the offline player.
You will see a refresh link ...Click on that...
Navigate through the contentin offline player.
And in the portal, you can see Switch to Online Player.
Click on that,It will synchronize the course from offline player
    Hope I am clear

  • How to install the OffLine Player for LSO

    Hi ,
I looking for a documentation in order to install the OffLine Player for LSO , and also if the Learner Portal will propose the install on every PC ussing the Learner Portal  ?
    Thank you .

Yes, there is a document in Service Marketplace which discusses this. I am only familiar with LSO 300.
    https://websmp201.sap-ag.de/~form/sapnet?_FRAME=CONTAINER&_OBJECT=011000358700000107422007E
I don't recall if it is on the standard course details page or not (we have done a lot of customization to our Learning Portal), but we have a separate section on our course type details page which reads as follows:
    Download Course
You can play this course offline if you want, for example, on a laptop. To do so, you must download the content files to your computer. Please note the following:
    - The actual download and subsequent display is done with the help of the Offline Player, which must be installed on your PC. Install Offline Player
    - When you switch back to online playing, you can synchronize the progress you made offline with the data in the Learning Portal.
    Download Course
Please note that there is a requirement to have the Java SDK loaded on the computer in order to deploy the Offline Player.  This is big hassle to incorporate into the installation process, but we had our IT group create a batch program to 1st install the Java SDK, followed by installation of the Off-line player.

  • Is LSO content player on an independent server?

We try to install/configure LSO.  When it comes to the content player, we are not sure whether it is an add-on to ERP or EP.
Would you please explain ? Thanks!

    Hi,
The Content Player (LSOCP), is based on a Java Platform, so you have to install it and configure in your SAP J2EE Engine.
    Depending on your ERP version (i suppose 6.0.X), you have to install the corresponding version;
    - LSOCP 600 (no EHPs)
    - LSOCP 602 (With EHP2)
    - LSOCP 604 (With EHP4)
Follow this thread to solve some issues after installation:
Unable to play content in LSO Content Player.

  • SAP Learning Solution u2013 Offline Player - Application size?

    Hi Guys,
I've been engaged to package and distribute this software for a client and need to know the installation size (MB) of this application. They haven't ordered the software yet but expect a quote for distribution to their entire network which is difficult without knowing how large it is.
I've looked high and low and can't find any information on this application so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Even just a rough idea is fine.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
if you mean the pure Offline Player that has to be installed on the learner's client I can tell you the size from my recently installed Offline Player for LSO 600:
The downloadable .exe file from service marketplace has 14,5 MB and the whole installation directory after installing it has 12 MB.
    Regards
    Günter

  • LSO -- where in configuration do you enter URL for portal / corses

LSO -- where in configuration do you enter URL for portal / corses

    Hi Matt,
Another address not mentioned in the other posts is the CMS address where your courses are physically stored. In the IMG you will find it here:
Training & Event Management - SAP Learning Solution - Learning Portal - Content Player - Specify CMS Address
Enter the appropriate http: address beside the setting CPCFG/RSURL
Once a learner clicks to launch a course from the portal, the system will go find the appropriate course in the CMS directory and then find the Content Plyer address previously mentioned to launch the course.
    Hope this helps.
    Best regards,
    Danielle

  • LSO Test Player

    Hi,
Is it possible to change the text of a button which is in the LSO Test Player application?
We would like to amend the text for the finish test cmd button.
If this is not the best forum for this, please can you suggest where would be more appropriate.
    Regards,
    Rob

    HI, Niladri.
If It was in authoring environment during testing WBT local, it would be 4),5) relevant for you.
    1) Check config of your LSOCP <j2ee-server>:<part>/lms/checkconfig?sys=<backendsys>&client=<client>
    2) See configuration http://<J2EE-server>:<port>/lms/mediator/config
    3) Check tech users(LSO_CP, CMS_User) roles and acess in backendsys
    3) Also check RFC SAP_LSO_BACKEND
    4) Downgrade Java\reinstall
    5) Use another version of LSOAE

  • SAP Offline Player - Screen Resolution is too low

I have a customer that has the SAP offline player 6.02_5 and is working from two monitors.  He appears to have his monitors configured identical from my dual monitor setup in which I have no issues but he is getting a pop-up that reads:
This computer does NOT meet the minimum requirements (Current 1024x640/ Required 1024x768+)  Your screen resolution is too low.
Could this possibly be a video card issue?  Everytime that he tried to launch the SAP Offline Player the message above pops up on the users pc.  Any ideas?
    Your response is greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Matt

One person reported he found an app with a simular problem. Unfortunatly there is no real fix. Yell at the maker of the app for not supporting something as basic and trivial as 720p.

  • KDE: Flash player configuration appears in category Lost and Found

Adobe flash player comes with file
    /usr/share/kde4/services/kcm_adobe_flash_player.desktop
This file contains a line controling where the flash player configuration should appear in the KDE system settings:
    X-KDE-System-Settings-Parent-Category=personal
Unfortunately the parent category does not exist. Hence the Adobe flash player configuration control appears in category "Lost and Found".
The line should be replaced by:
