LSO_PP40 (Course Notification List) MS word document Download Error

Hi All,
We upgraded our system from TEM to LSO .
Previously we are using t-code PP40 for Course Notification List and Genrating word output. It was working fine.
Now we are using T-code LSO_pp40 for the same and trying to genrate word output . but it is not genrating proper output.
I found that at runtime, that some fields like (Legacy org code, Room No , Buliding no ) is not having any value.
when i am removing these field in run time, output is producing.
We have some config at SPRO as below related to this , currently i did'nt changed the name of program(RHKMIT30 to RHKMIT30_LSO for all the programs ). I tried this by Changing the program name for one field (Legacy Org Code), but it didn't work.

Good news so far, but it's really hard to tell at this point... Safe Boot repaired the HDD without telling you anything and Repairing Permissions corrected some other things.
If things were not right, then your OS may be incomplete or a mixed/confused one then you may need to reinstall the big 10.4.11 combo for your Mac, or even do an Archive & Install.... maybe even a reinstall of Word!

To open a document you must have installed an Android application for it. The file is downloaded but can be opened with Firefox, but with the specific app from Android.
Try installing a documents app and for sure it will work.

Urgent Help Regarding PDF and Word Document Downloading

I used Oracle Intermedia to store my PDF and Word Documents in the database using Oracle SQL Loader. Then I used PL/SQL Server Pages and Oracle Web Toolkit for the downloading of my documents.
Now the problem is I saved all my formatted documents in the databse and for retrieval I am using following code in my stored procedure

But when it prompt the client to download the file actually it gives the junk file name like 'B104ea56' (which i understand is the address of the blob address). What I want is to show the "SAVE AS" download box with the proper document name which is stored in my field in the following way

2 PLANNING.PDF
3 MANUAL.DOC
4 STANDARD.TXT
If I set the MIME type for the file format than it automatically starts download the file to the client browser, that I do not want, It should ask the user to download with the proper document name.

Presumedly you'd like those documents being accessiable by users as well, so they should be put on a web server, ftp or nfs sharing. You can just add the urls to those documents, or the directory they are in, into robot system as starting points and let robot run to collect them.

Safari and Adobe Reader - document download error

Hello,
I have Adobe 10.x and when clicking on links to open a pdf in Safari, ie bank statements I receive an error message. I realize this forum is for Safari only, but for review purposes I have tried to download pdfs in Firefox and Chrome as well. The error message reads "/Downloads/doc-9.pdf could not be opened, because an unknown error occurred. Try saving to disk first and then opening the file." That would be great if it gave me the option to save it, but it doesn't. I also checked on Adobe's site, but couldn't find any answers. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

From your Safari menu bar click Safari / Reset Safari. Select the top 7 buttons, click Reset.
Relaunch Safari. See if that made a difference.
If not, try troubleshooting the Safari .plist file.
Quit Safari. Open a Finder window. Select your Home Folder in the Sidebar on the left. It has a small house icon. Then open the Library folder then the Preferences folder.
Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop. Relaunch Safari. If that helped, move that .plist file to the Trash, if not move it back to the Preferences folder.

Julie, I might suggest that you investigate the workflow a
bit deeper. For starters, what RoboFlavor are you using? RoboHelp
for Word or RoboHelp HTML?
I suppose either way, you need to more deeply examine how the
conversion occurs. There aren't all that many folks that use
RoboHelp for Word any more. Most are using RoboHelp HTML. In
RoboHelp HTML, there is a template used to map Word Styles to
RoboHelp styles. If you were to get your styling mapped accurately,
there shouldn't be all that much work to making changes to the
underlying Word documents. Of course, if the source Word documents
change, you currently have to delete the HTML topics and re-import.
Either that or totally abandon bringing the content in from Word
and just edit the resulting HTML pages that were created.
As for merging, I think we need more information as well as
knowing which RoboFlavor you are using. I know you said you *have*
RoboHelp for Word, but you didn't actually state you were using it.
So I'm left wondering as I'm sure others are.

Unable to merge word documents

When attempting to merge word documents an error occurs.
"There were errors encountered while combining files. Do you want to open the combined file or return to the file list and try again?"
In the merge list, they show up as a red X as status "Error (file skipped)"
Computer is Windows 7 Pro, fully patched and joined to a domain.
Word is version 2007 (fully patched on SP3)
Adobe is version X Pro (10.1.13)
Adobe X Pro and Microsoft Office has been reinstalled. A full virus scan has been done, nothing found. A clean up of registry has been done with ccleaner.
File location does not matter, I have tested locally and through a network share. The files open in word no problem and can be converted to PDF from word without issue. The issue persists in all user accounts so its computer wide.
All other files merge fine, only Word is effected.

Are you able to convert these files to PDF on their own?

One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for problem in Safe Mode...
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive
Reboot, test again.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it could be some hardware problem like Video card, (Quartz is turned off in Safe Mode), or Airport, or 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check the System Preferences>Other Row, for 3rd party Pref Panes.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

/System/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons
/Library/LaunchDaemons
Open Console in Applications>Utilities, check the system log for the date/time of the last problem & next startup for clues.

How do I make Word documents to open in Word automatically after downloading the way they used to before I chose "Do this automatically with all files of this type?"

I teach online, and my students post Word files to a Gradebook where I can click on the link and download their papers. Recently, because I got tired of having to tell Firefox what to do, I checked the box that tells it to open all Word documents with Word automatically. Now, it downloads the files, but they don't open in Word anymore, so I have to go to Downloads and open them manually. I don't know why this changed--I thought I was saving myself time. Going to Applications doesn't work--it says, when I type in Word documents (that doesn't appear in the list unless I type it), that I've chosen "Always ask." But when I click on the link, I don't get that old dialog box anymore! Help!

I need to download content from a webpage onto a word document so I can submit an assignment

If you phrase your question in something specific,
I am using Pages and want to embed a photo into an article I am writing.
I think different browsers save photos just fine but you would want to Save As and have the browser Ask with each save or download where it was to go, otherwise navigate to the default download folder and move it to a more suitable location or just point to it in Pages.
I think this should go in forum for Pages if that is the app you use.

Not sure what you are saying but Pages just opens Word documents, drag the Word document onto Pages' icon.
Or open the Word document from the Open dialog.
If you are talking about testing a Word document after you have exported it from Pages then you will need of course to have Word to open it but there are free clones of Word as well such as LibreOffice, Openoffice and Neoffice that will do that as well.

Odonnells52 you will still need to install Adobe Acrobat Professional prior to being able to make edits to PDF or utilize Acrobat. By default the installation files have been saved to your download folder.
If you continue to face difficulties with the Adobe Download Assistant then please see Troubleshoot Adobe Download Assistant.
You can also download the installation files directly from Download Acrobat products | Standard, Pro | XI, X if you are unable to locate the downloaded installation files.
