LSO Problem

Hi Folks
We have an issue with our LSO 300 system. According to SAP documentation, the course events which are occured in the past do not trigger a notification but in our case, the system is sending out notifications for the past events as the training coordinator book some people just for record keeping purpose. These attendees are factory employees and it is not required to send them the notifications.
I tried the suppress the automatic correspondence using a Badi but the system is not recognizing the badi as well.
Helpful answers will be rewarded.

HR LSO: Problem with Course Owner in formular

Hi ABAP Gurus,
my problem concens the following aspects:
MISSION: I have to create a bookingconfirmation where the attandee can see some details. This Confimation should base on LSO_PWB_COVER_CONFIRM but its necessary that the course owner (name, email, telnumber) will be added to this form.
PROBLEM: I know that i have to add the course owner to the formularinterface, but the Problem is, that i can't find it in the System. There is no Entry for the Cours Owner in PPVAR or LSOPPVAR so that i cant add it to a workarea. Does anybody know where i can find the course owner in the system?

Course catalog problem - LSO

Hi All,
We are facing strange problem in LSO in displaying the course catalog properly for all users.
We are using mySAPERP 2005 (ECC 6.0) SP11. LSO 600 FE,
We are using structural authorization profiles in the R/3. The catalog was displaying the catalog properly before 2 days back.
Now, for some reasons few of the users having the problems in accessing the course catalog (catalog doesn't show most of course groups, course type, and course).
It skips some of the course groups, course types, and course.
Anybody has an idea what is the problem ? Appreciate your help in this regards.
Note : I correctly maitained the catalog in R/3 by choosing/checking subject area infotype for every topmost course groups.

Thank you very much for your reply. Figured out the problem, as you said the subject area inoftype flag is not being checked.
But, to my strange I am not able to figure it out why it has happened ?
Why the flag is being removed automatically even though I have done these settings and saved it properly in production server 1 month back ?
This happened in quality server too, for initial 15 days, it was shown properly and then....the same problem has started with the course catalog in quality server also ?
Why this kind of inconsistent behaviour ?
Is it the problem with any of TR's movements to Qual, and then to production server ?
Also, we have maintained the structural authorizations correctly in oosb and oosp tcode of backend ECC.
Please share your experiences.

BI LSO - use of business content: problem and limitation

Hi,
we are working on BI to develop some reports from LSO data. We are using 0HR_LSO_1 and 0HR_LSO_3 for participation and resource reservation and a lot of custom datasources from infotype 1001, 1000, 1042, 5007, and so on.
We have met lot of problem in modelling a simple and flexible BI data model, because of lack of information from business content and time dependent maintenance of many information.
Just to report few of the problem we have, we notice that
1. no link between EK and D object is extracted by standard datasource, so no information is there if a D as been attemped as a single course or as a course between several from an EK object;
2. no master data is there for the 0LEARNER characteristic and no link is there with 0EMPLOYEE to better describe P object; if participant is not a P object, you don't have any information about it (!);
3.no master data is there for the 0TRAINTYPE characteristic; we needed to add lot of information to better describe the D object (!);
3. presence of 0TRAINGROUP in participation datasource may cause doubled of information (doubled count of participation) if D object is located under several L object in ovelapping time interval;
3. resource reservation datasource is not able to extract data if resource type is not defined in LSO;
4. performance is quite poor caused by lot of calculation doing by FM "read_infotype_1001" type;
5. no pre-enrolment is considered in business content;
6. no link between resource and participant is there, so you cannot provide any report of type "who partecipate to the edition with this reource type" in a simple way;
We have to develop lot of custom to handle lot of problem like those; so I would like to share experience in BI LSO data flow design and development: please let me have your observation.

LSO - Follow-Up Course Participation

Dear All,
When following up a course in SAP LSO, I marked the course participation as 'absent' for ppl who did not turn up for the course. What happens in the system is that a cancellation will be triggered, thus this person will not be reflected in any attendees/participation report. What I need is actually is a report where I can see participants who are absent and present. But, when system cancels the participation, it creates a 040 relationship in table HRP1001, thus there is no way for me to differentiate between someone who cancels before the training, and someone who were absent during the training. Has anyone run into this problem before? Pls advise. Thanks.

You may need to differentiate between these 2 scenarios
A: Attendee Cancels Course Attendance Before Occurence of Course
In this case, user will need to withdraw the attendee from the course before user can perform "follow up" of the course. This is where a cancellation reason can be specified.
B: Attendee Did Not Show Up During Course
In this case, when user select the course to perform "Follow up" from the dynamic course menu, user should be presented with a screen that shall list all course attendees assigned to the course run.
User may mark that the attendee had not show up for the course at this stage. See screen shot (https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/download/attachments/26779/CourseFollowUp-LSO.jpg)
You may want to ensure that the following config point (IMG>Training & Events Management>SAP Learning Solution>Training Management>Recurring Activities>

LSO - Issue with Factory calendar End Year and creation of New courses

Hi,
Recently we are experiencing an Issue in LSO with the system hanging while creation of "Course with Resources".
Upon Analysis we identified that while creating course with resources and by checking "Period without Days off" option references the set factory calendar in LSO config and since this set Factory Calendar has an End Year in 2005, the system hangs trying to reference this factory calendar.
For some course types we are unable to even enter the course creation Data screen. These course types have " Main schedule" (with / without pattern) pre defined.
The issue does not seem to occur if we extend the factory calendar to current period or future.
Please let me know if anybody has faced this issue, if extending the factory calendar the right solution and what is the impact of exteding a factory calendar in HR module. Is the factory calendar referenced anywhere else in HR module?
Note: in LSO config you can set the factory calendar in Training and Event Management>SAP Learning Solution>Training Management>Basic settings>Control Options for Days Off,

We had to add a numeric and /or a special charachter in the password

Custom error messages when booking traing in SAP LSO

In SAP LSO i implemented the BADI IF_EX_LSO_CHECK_BOOKING~CHECK_BOOKING in the code i throw error message in the object ct_message_tab of type DCMESSAGE.
When the error is presented within the portal two things are not the way i want it.
1. The error message can be up to 50 characters per message so i need to append more line to ct_message_tab, each line is presented with the read error symbol prior to the line. i want multiple lines with only one error symbol
2. I:001:000 Voor deze training hebben we aanvullende persoonsgegevens van je nodig.
I:002:000 Geef hiervoor je akkoord op de disclaimer bij "Informatie" in dit leerportaal.
I:003:000 Heb je vragen hierover? De cursusaanbieder beantwoordt ze graag.
the message are presented with the message number and message id, I only want to display the the msgv1 to msgv3.
Hope anyone got a clue.
Finaly the next problem, when pre-booking a course only a SAP pre defined error is shown, so the custom ct_message_tab is not visible on this screen.
I use following code three times because of maximum length of 50 characters per message line

SAP LSO - Time Mgmt integration

Iu2019m working in a SAP environment where are managed companies in more countries and all companies are using SAP Learning Solution (ECC6.00 EhP4).
We are introducing a new country A, in which is managed company X, having 3 personnel subarea (PS1, PS2, PS3). In country A we are introducing SAP Time Management module too, to be integrated with SAP Learning Solution.
Since PS3 has a different mgmt in Time, we have defined 2 PS groupings, one for PS1 and PS2, and the other for PS3.
For the 2 PS groupings, we customized 2 attendance reasons for training:
0110 u2013 Training as attendee
0111 u2013 Training as instructor
Even if we have 2 different PS grouping, we need to maintain the same coding for absence and attendance reasons.
The integration SAP LSO and Time Mgmt has been activated and itu2019s perfectly working.
Unluckily, the requirement of the company X is to receive automatically attendance records from SAP LSO for the employees belonging to PS1 and PS2, but not to PS3, because all attendances and absences of employees in PS3 are coming via interface from an external system.
We canu2019t filter the 2 attendance reasons coming from this interface, because not all type of training is managed in SAP.
My questions are:
1. Do you know if it is possible to disable the SAP LSO integration for PS3? How can I do that?
2. There will be technical problem for countries not managing Time solution? Will SAP LSO try to send attendance records to Time also for these countries? How can I avoid that?

Course appraisals in LSO not shown in Portal ?

hi,
we are using learning solution LSO 600, backend-system ERP 2005 (ECC 6.0). I have created course appraisals in the customizing.
now i have the problem that there is no link in the portal. i can book courses, cancel them, show the training catalogue, etc....etc.....
but where do i have a link to the course-appraisals-web-application ???

Hi Martin,
In order to make the connection between the course and the appraisal, you want to create a relationship A/B 608 (IT1001) between the course type (object D) and the appraisal template (object VA).
What I have done is to configure all the relevant actions for course type creation (e.g. Actions D, DETE, DETR, etc.) to show this relationship so that my training administrators can choose to link an appraisal template to a course during the course creation process.

Problem with LSO_PSV1

Hi all,
I'm working on TE module for the first time and I have a problem with bookings.
I have activated the LSO Solution from spro but if I try to make a booking from the LSO_PSV1 the system gives me the following error:
"User canceled maintenance, no change executed".
If I try to make the same operation from PSV1 it works!!!
Someone has some suggestions?

[LSO] Resource types blocking

Hi,
We have implemented SAP LSO at a customer, but during a training course we gave to the client, we came across the following problem:
When we are creating a course type and open the screen for attaching resource types (we have created multiple R objects) while someone else is executing the same action, SAP says the resource type is blocked by the other user (who first opened the selection screen).
We think this is quite strange since we are not actually changing the R object, just creating a relation with the course type (object D)
This is a problem since a large population will use LSO and probably create course types at the same time.
Is there a way to solve this problem ?

A Workaround will be create the relationship Event type-Resource type after the Event type is created. You can do this by PP01 tx.
An example of this: centralize the creation of the relationship Event type-Resource type in one User (let's to say yourself).
Well, when anyone creates an Event type that requires a Resource type, he/she will send the requirement to you, and save the Event type without this assignment.
Then, in certain moment, you take the list of D objects that requires a specific Resource type, and:
1. go to PSVR transaction
2. select R object > right click > change
3. (you'll go to PP01 transaction) select the Relationships infotype and create the B022 relationship for each Event type.
Also, you can build a custom program that do something simmilar in order to automate the process.
Alsomore, i'm thinking another workaround:
You can change the relationship behaviour, in order to create only the "A" link when you create an Event type (that avoid to lock the resource), and then by using a program that run let's to say once a day, check every A022 relationships without the "B" link and then add the corresponding B022 relationship in R objects.
But i think meanwhile the "B" link is not done, many reports can bring erroneus or bad information.

AICC Course Completions are not writing back to LSO

We are on LSO 602 and we have both SCORM and AICC courses. We have implemented the Single SCO Badi w/ the sample code that was provided. This has helped solve the problem w/ the Single SCO completion progress, but we are having problems now w/ the AICC courses.
AICC courses are not writing anything back to the LMS (we can see this through the API log while playing the courses in AE). Now, when a student takes an AICC course in the portal, passes it, and confirms participation, they are followed up as Failed and Confirmed Participation. The completion specification infotype specifies that 0% of the Learning Objects is required to pass the course.
This has made it unclear as to whether we can use the standard implementation of teh Single SCO Badi in conjunction with AICC courses.
Has anyone had success w/ AICC courses writing completion back to SAP LSO correctly? And has anyone has success w/ AICC courses while the Single SCO Badi is implemented?

We do have the same problem. We implemented interface to a vendor for aicc courses and once course is completed they are sending as 100% completion to our CP but SAP tables are not updated at all. Did you firgured it out what's the solution for your problem

Additional Field to the LSO Follow up Participation Screen in LSO_PV15

Hi All,
I have a requirement in LSO where i need to display an Additional Field called SCORE in the LSO 'Follow up Participation' (TCODE : LSO_PV15) Screen. The Field appears on the Screen when i enhance the customer include in table HRPAD25. Now the problem is how to make this field editable for the LSO administrator. Is there any BADI that does this? Or should we go for Implicit Enhancement.
