LSO - Test Time doubles in the Learning Net

Hi Experts,
I have created a Final Test using author tool. The attribute for the Test "Maximum test time (minutes)" which is set , works fine when i run Test Preview through the Author Tool.
But when i play the complete course, i.e. the Learning Net, through Content Player, the test shows Double the time mentioned in the Author Tool.
I hope someone can help me with the solution

Hi Tania,
Setting the switch to 1 did not help me.. it was already one... tried changing values.
The problem was i guess with the AE maybe or with the Windows VIsta on my system.
There was no issue when i tried running the same on other system where there was no vista. Windows Vista needs a separate version of AE. So i really do not know wehre the issue was...

Insertion time doubles when the cache is distributed on more than 3 nodes

Hi,
I am running some tests where I am persisting 1,000,000 person objects in the cache in batch of 500 objects(using putAll). Prior to the insertion of each batch, we fetch the previous version of the person(using getAll) already in the cache to do some operations with the persons that we want to insert (very basic operations).
Then we insert the new version of the objects in the cache. (the objects and all their previous versions remain in the cache).
The cache is a distributed cache and the objects are serialized using the POF format. In the map, the key is the person SSN + version number and the value the person itself. There are indexes on the person SSN and on the version number.
I notice that when I run the test with the cache distributed on 2 nodes, I have a throughput of 1,400 inserted objects per second.
The throughput is the same with the cache distributed on only one node.
However if the cache is distributed on 3 nodes or more, the insertion throughput decreases to 700 objects per second.
In my configuration, I uses a distributed-scheme with a com.tangosol.util.SafeHashMap for the backing map.

Hardware config and node distribution across it? Hard to figure out what's going on if we don't know even that...
If it's on one machine, are you swamping the CPU, memory, disk (any of) on this machine. What are the OS tools telling you. Ditto, have you probed the Coherence nodes, JVMs - and your own code - with JMX (or some other tool)?
If you are on multiple machines, have you run the network tests that Coherence provide? What were the results?
What backup count are you using?
Etc. Etc. :)

LSO - Test element creation in AE

Hi All,
I have been trying to create the test element in AE. Online test is easy but it is independant of the course. I want to link the test to the course created. So i am trying to create Test element in the Learning Net. But i am not able to get it. I mean if i attach an excel sheet or word doc as a test, will it do? but then how do we record the test score? Like online test, can we create something here? I am really confused.
Need your help expert. Please do reply.. would be really grateful!!

If i understand your requirement correctly, You want to attach exel sheet or word document (your questions).
You will not be able to run the test as the attachment of exel or word doc. and hence there will not be any results can't be stored in SAP.
With what i understand my suggestion is use Pre test, post test or Final Test funtionallty.

Hi,
What is the exact help you require? Releasing & publishing of the learning nets is pretty much straight forward & there is a wizard which takes you through the step wise instructions of doing this.
Make sure you are connected to the content repository(Content Management System) from your AE
Create learning nets in AE
Open the repsoitory explore & checkin the learning nets.
If i am not wrong when you check in the learning nets , you can also choose to release & publish it.
If you are not connected to the connected the content management system, contact your BASIS/Netweaver ppl to configure the same .
Also make sure you specify thsi path in your AE

Hi:
I need to write a program in LabView that is capable of testing two parts at the same time.
Explanation:
I star the test on a unit, once all the electrical test is done move that unit to the pressure test without loosing the current test information and continue the test of the unit thewn generate a serial number only if it passes all the test. Then while the previous unit is going thru the pressure test star testing another unit for the elecrical test and so on.
I am using LabView 2012

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

I dont no whether problem with java code or XI .but its a very simple java code.
Just i am getting 6 Xpath values and comparing those values with "" OR Null.if the condition is true i am displaying some text message.

Why are the options for "When Firefox starts" NOT clickable in Firefox 5? I want to choose "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net" but Firefox won't let me.

In the previous version of Firefox one could choose to save tabs so that when Firefox opened, all the tabs from the previous sessions appeared. This was done in Settings > Options > General > Startup. In the menu for the "When Firefox Starts" one had the option for "Windows and tabs that where opened last time you accessed the net." in Firefox 5.0, this menu is gray and not clickable. Help, please?

Possibly you are not saving your "browsing history" which is what the session history is tied into.

There are several things that are related to private browsing and not saving History
* Private Browsing Ctrl+Shift+P
* You selected "Never remember history" in first drop-down of Tools > Options Privacy and all of the check marks disappear (See picture above)
* "Permanent private browsing mode" was check-marked under "Use custom settings for history" in the first drop-down of Tools > options > Privacy (see picture above)

Time Capsule doubling up the back up

Need help. Have a 200gb Hard drive. At the moment i have used about 84gb on my Macbook pro.
Time Capsule has doubled the backup and its showing about 224gb on the TC. People who have backed up on the Time Capsule, must know how time consuming the first backup is.
How do i delete everything on the Time Capsule?. If i do this wirelessly it will take a week i guess to delete. Can my Mac not be connected to the Time Capsule through a USB. Maybe that will make it a bit easier.
Any help would be appreciated...

If the sparsebundle file is showing double to what your Macbook is then you will need delete and start your backup again, somehow it must have become corrupted or time machine is confused..
Do do this, open up airport utility and at the bottom of the dialog window click on manual setup
Look at the menu on the next window and your will see a light blue disk icon. Click on that and you will notice on the right pane an option to erase the disk.
The USB connector on the time capsule is for connecting things such as other USB hard disks, USB hubs and USB printer. You cannot use this connector to back up your time capsule only the Ethernet connector will allow this or to back up wirelessly.
I would suggest for you to back up using an ethernet cable connected from your Macbook to time capsule for your first backup and if you cannot do this then you will have to be patient to back up wirelessly, at least the initial back up should be much less than the double figure you were getting.

One Idea is to use custom activeX substeps, for example, Antonio Lie mentioned the substep "OnNewStep" in my last post. Is there also a "OnDoubleClick"?
Does anyone know a list of activeX substep that can be used? Or are there other ideas?

1. Currently it is not possible to change the behavior for double clicking on a step. It is a good idea though, and we will be consider to add it to the next versions of TestStand.
2. "OnNewStep" is the only "special" substep. It was implemented for internal use and it is not documented yet.
3. If you want to know more about substeps you can red the Reference Manual, Chapter 13 is a good place to start.
4. I want to make clear that "OnNewStep" is called every time you insert a new step. The sequnce editor gets the substeps list and if it finds the "OnNewStep" substep in the list It calls it using the API. The substep can use any adapter type, It does not have to be the ActiveX adapter.

Hello Brandon,
The reason for that is because Extend clients are not members of the cluster, so they require proxy servers within the cluster in order to be able to connect.
If you want to do this you will need to use a remote invocation service, which simply allows you to submit agents into the cluster for execution on the proxy server. So the proxy would execute the code you mention and send the answer back to the client.
This following page should shed more light on the subject.
