LSO - viewing progress of a course

Hi,
Which transaction can I use to view the completion/progress of a course?

Hi Shivani,
Please check the never compessed list like described in SAP Note 746917 #14.
Kind regards,
László

Is there a way to track "pages viewed" progress with PDF's?
Example: Student downloads a PDF from school portal -- Teacher can track who downloaded PDF, when and how many pages were view (where student stopped)? Similar to Flexpaper?

The only other way I can come up with at the moment is by submitting the data via a URL to your server... The user will still have to allow the URL to be opened, though.

    Use a different device.
Adobe did not develop Flash for iOS devices and has ended all Flash development for all mobile devices.
You could try a different browser from the App store such as Skyfire or iSwifter.

  • LSO: Tracking Course progress for SCORM Courses

How does SAP track progress/placeholders for SCORM-enabled published Captivate projects, that is, if a learner stops playing content part way through, is the learner placed back where they left off when they return?

    Hi Harshal,
I'm not a Captivate super-user nor a content expert, but it's always important to ensure that the publishing settings are refined to pass the data that is important to the customer (it sounds like you need 'location' in this instance) and that the settings align with the instructional intent of the content.  In other words, help them determine what data they need for functionality and reporting and publish the content to reflect that - not less and also not more, to ensure the optimal amount of data is passed to the LMS.
    Good luck,
    Sharon

  • LSO Learning progress from content player

    Dear Experts,
In the Portal, the paticipant can view the Learning progress( this Learning progress is a consolidated display of the content) can this learning progress be shown unit wise or chapter wise in the table of contents. instead of the consolidated display,
    Please advice.
    Regards
    Rajeev

    Hey Ravi,
    Thanks for sharing your perspective.
After thinking further about the real estate question, I believe that, at least in the US, most instructional designers aim to present content at 800x600 pixel size.  This accounts for differing monitor sizes, etc.  If this is the case, then good instructional design (e.g. don't put too much content on a screen at once) should assure that content could be played in-line (in the BSP page).  Since the navigational controls are at the bottom, that wouldn't have any effect on width of the page and could also be accommodated.
I'm still of the opinion that SAP LSO (and all leading LMS systems) should evolve to presenting content in the base window.  Perhaps there are some extreme exceptions where the extra real estate would make a true difference.  In that case, perhaps the learner should be offered an LSO learner setting where they can choose to display content in-line or in a separate window....let them decide   Alternatively, one could offer the Training Administrator an infotype setting where they specify whether the content should be displayed in-line (default) versus in a separate popup (this could be used on an exception basis).

  • Viewing progressive video on different systems

    Hi everyone,
I've got some 24P (normal, from a DVX100) video here that I'm editing, and I'm wondering what to expect it to look like when I'm finished. While editing, on my progressive (obviously) computer monitor, I'm seeing ugly interlace lines on every 2 out of 5 frames (PPPIIPPPII, or however it's ordered). My NTSC (interlaced) monitor died, so I can't check it out on that right now, but I presume it would look fine on that. I know these pulldown frames are part of getting 24P on miniDV tapes, but how do I make them less visible, or not visible at all, while viewing on a progressive device?
What if I'm watching it on a TV with progressive inputs? Will I see the pulldown frames as interlaced, as I now do on my computer monitor? Also, if I export to a web format, like MP4 or H264, how will it look? I'm messing around with the "progressive" setting in the frame controls of Compressor, but it doesn't appear to be doing anything. I can still see the interlacing.
I suspect there's something simple I'm overlooking. In my browser, it says the field dominance is set to Even. It should automatically be set to none if it's progressive, right? What might this indicate? I captured in NTSC DV.
In summary, how do I play it on something other than an NTSC monitor and not have the interlacing in the pulldown frames visible?
    G5 DP 1.8   Mac OS X (10.4.4)   1.25G RAM

hmm... now I'm back to 98% I think. lol.
I was referring to 24P NTSC 29.97 and not true, 23.98 progressive. Sorry about that. So, to try and straighten up my understanding, any NTSC output sent by Final Cut Pro, through my camera/interface and sent to a composite input will be 24P 29.97 with the 3:2. Therefore, this signal should ALWAYS be sent to an interlaced, NTSC monitor? And if I want to pretend I'm watching it on an interlaced monitor, but actually use a progressive monitor, I should get a converter/interface with HDMI or composite outputs, which will then output a proper progressive signal, without the 3:2, and I will then see the image without the horizontal lines, even though my original signal has the interlaced frames?
If I'm still missing something, how do I watch my timeline from FCP on an external, progressive monitor without seeing the 3:2 artifacts, yet still using the 29.97 signal, with the 3:2 pulldown intact? There must be a way to see it without the artifacts on a progressive monitor, other than going through Cinema Tools... No? It doesn't make sense that I wouldn't be able to do this. Patrick, you were saying newer screens can handle 3:2 and deal with it?. Will just ANY recent monitor (LCD, CRT, OLED, Plasma, Anti-Matter, whatever) do this through its composite input? I have a Dell 2407 with a slew of inputs, one being composite RCA. Can I get a non-jaggie, 29.97 viewing from this otherwise progressive monitor?
Thanks for potentially the last time

  • LSO - XI - Skillsoft integration, launch course

    Hi Gurus,
I am working on a scenario where we are launching and tracking web based courses (Skill soft a third party).
Let me give you more details of my scenario.
    1) Commnication is from SAP LSO System to Third Party(Skill Soft) through PI(XI).
    2) We are following this approach - Client Proxy>XI>Web service(SkilSoft) and it will be synchronous call.
3 ) From portal user should be able to Lauch, or Track the course and will get response back to SAP LSO system/portal from Skill Soft.
For above approch we have copied a class CL_LSO_WS_XI into a custom and modifying its method to launch the course.
Now I need help on how to pass the parameters like customerid, assetid, courseid etc to PI(XI).
If anyone has worked on similar scenario and has reference code or reference material for modifying the method (of class CL_LSO_WS_XI ) to launch the course, please reply.
    Thanks in advance.
    Akash

    Hello All,
I am having similar scenario of LSO integration with Skillsoft via PI. I have already referred the PDF XI Configuration for SkillSoft Integration.
The flow of interface in my scenario is
    Portal(FrontEnd) <-> ECC(BSP Application at Backend) <-> PI <---> External Learning Vendor(SkillSoft).
    1) Commnication is from SAP LSO System to Third Party(Skill Soft) through PI(XI).
    2) It will be synchronous call.
3 ) From portal user should be able to register, book,Lauch, or Track the course and will get response back to SAP LSO system/portal from Skill Soft.
    4) Portal is the frontend and backend is the BSP application(ZHCM_Learning).
Can you please let me know the details how you handled this scenario and passed  the parameters like customerid, assetid, courseid etc to PI(XI). Also let me know what would be the best approach to follow in this scenario..Is there any BAPI / RFC available for this scenario or need to go via proxy.
    Thanks

  • View private iTunes U course from PC

Is it not possible to access materials as a student in a private iTunes U course from a PC? How about from a Mac but without having to go through an iPhone or iPad?
    Thanks

    Hello,
To access any content (info pages, posts, or materials) in a PRIVATE iTunes U course, you have to use an iOS device (iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch). PC or Mac computers WILL NOT do it.
Our college has a private iTunes U authentication server. We keep it because of this exact limitation of PRIVATE iTunes U COURSE. Our Private iTunes U collections can be assessed on iOS devices or any PC or MAC computer.
This limitation is only on PRIVATE iTunes U courses.
For the Public iTunes U courses, however, the users can access some of the Info pages (course description and outline) and the Materials (video, audio, PDF, web links) on a PC or MAC computer.
    Hope this helps.

  • LSO -  How to reverse historised courses to firmly booked

    Hello Friends,
Well we have situation where I'm supposed to move a course to Firmly booked. I have tried to change the delimit date through T Code - RE_RHGRENZ1, however I can only extend the date and also allows me to edit participants but the status remains as Internally Followed up and not as Firmly booked. If I only extend the delimited date it wouldnt alow me to again perform the follow up and historise.
Kindly could some one guide me on this please...!
    Regards,
    Shankar

All the wait list participants will continue to appear even after the follow up and historising the course.
We will have to manually cancel the wait list participants before performing the follow up.
Not sure if there is any other way.

  • LSO - Follow up for WBT Courses

    Hi Experts,
I have created a WBT Course which is accessed by the learner.
My question is how do you manage course follow up for Web Based Training from the Instruction and Tutoring tab on the portal?
What all relationships are to be maintained to do the same?
Would request you to please tell me the detailed steps to do the same.
    Regards,
    Shweta Thakkar

    Hi Shweta
The participation record with relationship 614 between the course(ET) and the person(T) is maintained. Now when the participation is followed up, the additional data table HRPAD614 (for WBT) is updated with the follow_up field set to 'X'. I think in the standard portal there is an option given which says 'Set course to completed' which does the follow up part. I think this partly answers your question about which relationship is maintained and which tables/infotypes are used.

  • LSO Workflow for Participants from Course Admin and Instructor

    Hi All,
As par standard SAP we found that there is no approval process/Workflow for participants if they are booked by course administrator/Instructors.
Please suggest if we have to make some enhancements or if I am missing some standard configuration here.
    Regards,
    Umesh

    Hi Connie,
    Thanks for your reply,
Yes at the moment I am concentrating on the Classroom training part only.
As you correctly pointed out that the few of the Associates will not have the access to the computers/training system they do request by telephone/email to training department directly and I think this is the process in most of the organizations.
Now if the admin is booking the courses on behalf on the employee, it should go to the Manager for approval and subsequently the employee should be also informed.
So I am looking for similar process.
Kindly let me know if this can be achieved in some way, e.g (some sap customization or some simple enhancements).
    Regards,
    Umesh

  • How to view progress of a file in a hidden folder.

We are pushing out a 7 ish GB .zip file from SCCM to around 1000 remote servers. I need to be able to check all 1000 servers for the temp file it puts the file in before it is completed. From what I have read all the file names could be different on
each server as SCCM makes the temp file for each new software push.
I would need it to be able to show the date the file was created and what size the file is.
So far I have only been able to get the file to show up when it is 100% completed using
    function check-remotefile {
        PROCESS {
                    $file = "(filepath)"
                   $testserver = test-path $file
                    if ($testserver -eq $true)
                    echo "$_ file d$\(filepath) "
                    else {
                        echo "file not found" }
    Get-Content  C:\(filepath).txt | check-remotefile
I am at a bit of a loss as what to do next.

Our software dist team want's to be able to check and see if the file has stopped downloading or see if it has error out.
I know I can check  when the file is completed, I would like to be able to avoid having to check each of the 1000 servers to see how far along the temp is.

  • LSO Authorization Profile

    Hi,
    We are using R/3 4.7, LSO 2.0
The purpose is that some user should be allowed to view/book only certain courses. This is done by the Course creator. For this he is using Authorization Profile. Is there anyother way other than this.
We have course groups and course subgroups created. We have created an authorization profile which stores the ID of the Group objects and saves. It is then assigned to the user.
The issue is this has to be done in production server. The server is set to not modifiable. For this we need to copy all the object type & ID from the production server and then create a new profile and then move using Transport Request to the production server from development server.
Do any one have idea that would have the same authorization profiles without breaking the client modifiable lock or transport request from development server.
    Thank you,
    Regards,
    Boobalan

    Hi,
If you don't have authorization for the transaction 'IL01', enter this transaction and in another window open transaction SU53. This will display the authorization check failed details. From there you can find out the the authorization object checked.
    Regards,
    Soumya.

  • Delete a photo permanently after selecting in *album view*

In iPhoto 11 in Lion 7.1, I know that if I select some photos in an Album (that is, in single Album view) and delete them, they will be deleted from the Album only, not from iPhoto itself. In other words, the photos will remain in Photos view:
I can of course search for the identified photos in Photos view, but that means noting (in single Album view) the photo numbers assigned by my camera (eg., P6160092) to each photo and then, for each photo, changing to Photo view and searching for a photo and deleting it. Time-consuming, inelegant and tedious.
Doing the selection in single Album view is important because I will often want to delete neighbouring (repeat or faulty) photos, or the nearby originals of a panorama created from them. Deleting quite a large number of photos is important because it is so easy to take many versions of a scene.
Therefore, what I would like to do is to select them in single Album view and then tell iPhoto to delete them not only from that Album but also from Photos view (and therefore delete them from the computer).
I was able to do that in an earlier version by selecting the photos on Album view, then pressing CMND OPTION DELETE, then CNTRL-CLICKING on iPhoto's Trash icon and choosing "Empty Trash". I haven't dared do this on my present collection in case something goes badly wrong. "The Missing Manual" is no help here.
So, how can I do that please?
Also, I note that if photos are displayed in Events view, the resulting Events are not in alphabetical order (like I have my list of albums) which seems unhelpful. So what is the point of Events view if it simply duplicates the list of Albums?

    You ask:
So, how can I do that please?
    But you have already answered:
selecting the photos on Album view, then pressing CMND OPTION DELETE, then CNTRL-CLICKING on iPhoto's Trash icon and choosing "Empty Trash".
Sorry but I really don't understand what you're asking.
    Regards
    TD
