LSO - WBT is showing in portal 31.12.9999

Dear All,
We are facing one problem, When we are booking (WBT)course it is showing in the portal unlimited. How to control this one. Is there any possibility to change in BSP page. This booking periods in which table it will store.
Please give me your valuable inputs on this.

are you using the same user to access backend and portal?. In backend, did you try from transaction PHAP_CHANGE with that user?. If you try with transaction PHAP_ADMIN in backed you are accessing as administrator, so you cannot compare the behaviour in PHAP_ADMIN and portal.

9i Reports Graphic using JSP not showing in Portal

Using Portal Rel 2, 9iAS Report Server Rel 2, Oracle 9i database and 9iDS Report Builder, SUN servers and Windows2000 (for Builder).
I've created 2 reports very simple, using scott.emp table, one tabular (deptno,ename, salary) and one line graph (ename,salary) both created as .RDF (paper layout) and .JSP (web layout).
The tabular reports both work fine on portal (after setting Oracle Reports Security as Servelet and as JSP).
The graphics only work as Servlets , as .JSP it shows the little box with the red x.
If I run the reports outside of portal, all 4 work fine.
Any idea what might be the problem?

I am not sure if my colleague has check-in/publish it in AE. I'll check on this one.
3) go to the LSO back-end and create a WBT
Do you mean creating a Course Type with Delivery Method "WBT"? if yes, I've done so. If no, then how do I do it?
4) enclose the cheked in / published content
Do you mean creating IT5006 - Course Type Content to link the content to the course type? if yes, I've done so. If no, then how do I do it?
5) try to find on the portal again
I'll ask my colleague about Step 2 and then I'll re-try again..

Determine Fields for Business Card on Area Page - does not show on portal

I'm trying to add new fields on the overview page of service personal data IT0002
I found "Determine Fields for Business Card on Area Page" in customizing and added new field, but it doesn't show in ESS portal service.
Does anyone have any advice what I need to do to make it work?

Bizcards is only customizable via IMG as of EHP3
Lower releases might require additonal steps/modifications
For EHP3 you need to ensure you are using EHP3 software components and have EHP3 business
function switched on (be careful though switching on this function is only reversal via restore to point in time
before switching it on) - also check note 1159911 if you have switched this one and/or see no fields
Worth also trying the following
Check V_T7XSSPERBIZFLD for existing fields and positions
Add supplementary fields and position numbers to V_T7XSSPERBIZFLD
OR
Check V_T7XSSPERBIZFLD for existing fields and positions
Overwrite required positions and fields in V_T7XSSPERBIZFLC

Web App not showing in Portal Preview

We are running two web apps (Wordpress sites zebraWP and zms) under our subscription at Azure. They both show under the old management portal but only one shows in the new portal. Reading through a previous question, I went to resources.azure.com and
the site (zebraWP) that is not showing shows Error: 'Resource not found'
The website otherwise appears to function normally.
I am not sure how to correct this. I have a nice example of what should be there from the other site but am reluctant to try to edit anything myself.

You can work around by using resources.azure.com to create the site with the same name (zebraWP). Make sure you put the matching location and serverFarm with the origin site. For instance, location "West US" and serverFarmName
"DefaultServcerFarm". See if it helps.

How to delete course content (LSO - WBT Training)

I need to know how I can physically delete course content out of the KM without ruining anything in the portal or in the SAP tables. You can mark it as 'obsolete' via the Repository Explorer (right click on the content and you will see the option.) This means it is not available for re-use or for use in a Course Type.
I have a vendor requirement to physically remove the content from servers and I fear that simply marking it obsolete it will not be sufficient.

I was given this bit of information from our LSO implementation partner and these were the steps that were executed. We have tested and at this time this seems to be the best approach.
1. Mark content as obsolete in the AE
2. Access the content folder from the WEBDAV URL, and delete the content from the server.
3. Either mark corresponding course type in the Master Data Catalog to not display on the internet or delimit the course type ( do not delete).

Employees' photo cann't be showed in portal MSS. Can anybody help me?

Our portal system met one urgent problem in MSS for providing employee's photo from ECC6.0 system to portal.
It is like that: some of our portal mss accounts, who are department managers, can not see their employees' photos in the portal page through their computers. But the others do not meet the problem in their computers. Even for the same employee, his manager can see his photo in certain one computer, but can not see the photo in another computer. I guess maybe there are any conflicting IE configs to the portal for showing photo datas.
Has anybody met this similar problem?
Who could be so kind to help me? I will very appreciate you.

Application Configuration changes not showing in Portal

Hello Guru's,
We are on EP 7.02 and EhP6 on backend.
We are using WDA based ESS Applications.
We have a requirement to hide Directory and Index tabs on ESS Homepage .
So followed the below steps to do the same:
1. SE80 - FPM_OVP_COMPONENT
2. Application HRESS_A_MENU - Application Configuration ZHRESS
3. Start Configurator - and click on Component Configuration to hide the tabs.
4. Done with the changes and modified Overview page in Portal to have the new Aplication Configuration.
The issue is, for me it is working fine, it is hiding the tabs and showing only the Map. But for other users it is showing all the tabs Map, Directory, and Index.
Please help. And also when a user does personalization in Portal where do the changes go ?

How were you able to solve this issue. I am having the same problem. I did the Z copy for all the standard configuration and assigned the custom role ZESS to ZHRESS_CC_MENU_AREA_GROUP. When i change the the options in general settings to invisible for MAP and Index , I can see the tabs getting hidden in the preview mode.In portal the changes are not getting reflected. You said about enhancement. Could you please explain what you did ? . Your help is greatly appreciated.

SAP LSO- (WBT)Confirm Participation link in course detail page is missing

The end user has finished working on the content and has properly logged off and closed the Content Player.
When he comes to the course detail page in the Learning Portal, he finds that the 'Confirm Participation' link is missing.
Following is the configration that has been set for the Course Type( has the delivery method 0003-WBT)-

Form updates not showing on portal page

I have a "Report from Query Wizard" report that shows a list of training
classes staff are requesting. This has a link to an update form so that
our boss can check Yes or No.
When I click Run or Run as Portlet from the Providers tab everything
works fine. But when I show the portlets in a region on a portal page
the update results don't show up. In other words, you can see the list,
click on the update link in any row of the list to get the form of
interest, make changes and Submit. The data actually gets updated in the
database table but the data changes will not appear in the portlet
report unless I re-add the portlet to the page region.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Webcache is probably running. Try setting the report refresh interval to .01.

BI Administrator shows a Portal runtime error

I integrated SAP BW system with SAP Portal. All the connection tests (Sap Web AS connection, ITS connection, Connection Test for connectors) run successfully.
I also installed a BI add on u201CBI Administratoru201D on Portal and performed all the steps on SAP BI system.
When I try to access one of the functions of BI Administrator I get Portal Runtime Exception on all the windows in Portal (bellow, in the middle, etc.).

The following error generally occurs because of permissions problem. Please make sure that "Everyone " user has full control for the System created at System Configuration. Also same with "Everyone" group.

LSO - hide course group in Portal display

Dear experts,
My client has created a extensive Course Catalog with all course groups and course types that will be necessary for the period of one year.
After creating that they found out that one particular course group has courses that will not be available for some time during this period.
We were able to hide all courses removing the flag in course type information IT, but the course group itself is still displayed in the Portal.
For the record, this course group does not have the flag Subject area in IT 1063 because it's not a group root.
Which would be the best solution to hide the course group? I'm trying to avoid to make changes in the structure of the course catalog in the back end, but I'm not sure if there is any solution for that.
Any ideas?

Thanks for your reply, but my problem is with a course group, object L, not a course type. The course types are already hidden the way you've mentioned. IT1029 is not allowed to objects L, only D.
My problem now is how to hide the course group to what these hidden courses are assigned. It's displayed in the Portal without any courses.

Square symbols showing in portal

I am using BEA portal 9.2 for English/Arabic portal. Some of the Arabic letters are displayed as square symbols on the portal. During edit time of the arabic contents (Articles, News, Ads) everything looks good, but when presented in the portal I am getting square symbols in random Arabic letters. The content is stored and presented using UTF-8 decoding. when I uploaded the content using windows-1256 encoding, the square symbols disappeared from the portal. I need to use UTF-8 for lots of reasons. but until now I wasn't able to solve it.
Anybody has any idea why could this be happening? please help

a. Save the html from the browser and using any binary editor, check the binary codes of the character, if they are correct then the problem is with display , otherwise the problem is with the way you have stored it
b. If the binary characters are properly encoded in UTF-8 for arabic then check which font is being used on the browser. Is the font capable of displaying arabic characters? Is the language set to arabic in the html? Is the Content-Language response header set?

LDAP user details not showing in Portal UME

We have implemented kerberos single sign on using the kerberos xml datasource file and have the corporate LDAP as our UME source.
However certain user details that are maintained in LDAP (such as department, street etc) are not being pulled through to the portal UME.
We know the connection to the LDAP is OK as we can create new users and they appear in portal UME - its just that it seems to be missing several user attributes.
Is this related to the settings in the xml file?
And if so, what needs changing??

all the attributes that are available in your LDAP can be made available in the UME via the dataSourceConfiguration. The default files does not include every attribute since these may vary from directory to directory.
