Dear FG,
Can we configure LSO without configuring Content Management Server (CMS), Is there any possibility or way around?
All replies with be highly appreciated.
Let me answer your question in 2 parts.
1) If you are not going to use WBT/Online test then you are fine.
2) If you are going to use WBT and Online test as delivery method then you need CMS to be configured.
As the content is not stored in ECC you need CMS to hold the content for WBT based Del method.
You have diffrent way to fulfill CMS requirement a) Use your SAP KM b) have a dedicated WEB DAV protocol CMS.
Hope this helps.

  • DMS Document Management from SAP LSO and IT1062

    Hi Experts
I need to use the Knowledge Link Infotype (IT 1062) for linking to documents in the DMS for use from within SAP LSO.
I can upload the documents using Tx OAOR, but how do I add the link to the document in IT 1062?
Is there another way of uploading the document which I should be trying?
What is the best / easiest way to upload a document to DMS and also link to it in IT 1062?
    Thanks in advance

    HI Everyone
I`v done a research and i believe its better to do the standard way of managing contents for LSO.
Based on my finding its better to use Kpro(Knowledge provider) for this purpose. DMS and CMS Services both are Kpro Services when DMS uses(in standard way) for documents related to MM and CMS recommended for LSO.
CMS can link to KM(Knowledge management) and also using Authoring Environment you can manage all contents related to LSO.
AE allows you to use external Authoring Tools in order to provide eLearning. indeed you can use CMS repositories to store LSO Docs.
Since you may decide to give users an access to learning material it is a good idea to upload docs in a way that easily being accessible from web.
Integration between CMS and DMS is possible( refer to link below: Integration of CMS & DMS).

  • Error opening a Manage Report template with Formulas and Summation

    Hi Expert,
My j2ee web application is setup is such a way that when there is NO connectivity to the Crystal Report Server XI, it will use the Crystal Report for Eclipse functionality and opening report templates located in the relative path - This works fine.
But when there is a connectivity to the CMS Server, I have this error when opening a manage report in Crystal Report Server XI that contains formulas and summations. But for other reports like chart and listings no problem.
    This code triggers the error:
    ReportClientDocument clientDoc = reportAppFactory.openDocument(infoObject,0, java.util.Locale.US);
I found out there's a conflict between CR libraries  for Eclipse and libraries for RAS Enterprise Server XI.
How can I solve this issue so that I can support the two scenarios - with or without CMS connectivity, I can still view reports.
    Error Stack Trace:

You must isolate the CR4E and RAS SDK jars using separate classloaders - simplest is have separate apps, if rolling your own class loaders is out of project scope.
    They do not work together.

  • EJB developing in using NWDS with JDI

i created EJB for client java proxy before creating DC.
but i can not check-in it.
do i have to create New DC? and then do i have to create EJB inside DC? or SC?
if i have 10 EJB and 10 EAR source in NWDS, do i have to create 10 DC for 10 EJB and then 10 DC for 10 EAR?
please guide me how to work in using NWDS with DC and DTR for CMS.
i just want to use NWDS with JDI in order to manage source
    thanks
    venjamin

    hi,
you mean it's better moving my EJBs i created into one DC?
i can not move my EJB in NWDS to new one DC
    how can i do that?
actually i developed 30 EJB in using NWDS without CMS, i have deployed those ejb to SDM via NWDS directly but now i am tring to use DTR in CMS.
so using DTR, do i have to <b>develope in DC</b> for developing EJB?  or develope EJB without DC and then can i move it into DC? is it right concept?
please drop me on right direction
    thanks

  • Learning Solution implementation cenario

    Hello,
It is possible to implement the LSO without the Learning Portal? We want to implement the front-end of the LSO in Share Point using SAP as backend system. Anyone had make this type of implementation?
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards

    Marques
There is only BSP Application HCM_LEARNING available in Learning portal which is the front end and to answer your question, I will say no to that.. In between SAP provides a well intiuitive screen for Learning Portal so why do you want to go with developing a shrepoint?

  • Knowledge Link IT 1062

    Hi Experts
Has anyone used the Knowledge Link Infotype 1062 for connecting Course Type to a Knowledge Warehouse from within LSO before?
i understand this can be done, but am looking for specific details on setup of KM / DMS?
ZWHat is needed, what isn't needed and if any configuration needs to be done to link this to Infotype 1062.

I need help trying to install Win 7 behind Win 8 on an uefi bios. My laptop as Insyde 6.2 bios, and does not have an boot from file or uefi shell option. How do I boot win 7 without cms (legacy) bios mode? Because When I use my restore dvd's to install Win 8, it sets te bios bacck to uefi mode. So I cant install factory disks in legacy mode, so I have to install Win 7 in uefi mode.
    David

    Satellite C875-S7103
Downloads are here. Lots of 64-bit Windows 7 drivers and utilities.
When I use my restore dvd's to install Win 8, it sets te bios bacck to uefi mode. So I cant install factory disks in legacy mode, so I have to install Win 7 in uefi mode.
I don't understand, David. Why can't you reset the UEFI and install Windows 7 from there? No need to restore Windows 8 again. You'll replace it.
Only Windows 8 Pro comes with downgrade rights (to Windows 7 Professional). So you would need to pay for it.
In order to boot using UEFI from the Windows 7 installation media, follow this procedure.
-Shut down Windows 8 while pressing the Shift key to completely power off.
-Power on and press F2 while the Toshiba logo is displayed to enter the UEFI Setup Menu.
-Go to the Security tab and set the "Secure Boot" setting to "Disabled".
-Go to the Advanced tab, enter "System Configuration" and set the Boot Mode to "CSM Boot."
-Press F10 to save and exit.
In order to successfully install Windows 7, you need to remove the existing GPT partitions during Setup and create new ones.

  • Hooking LDAP with Weblogic for Authentication

I have a lot of users in an LDAP-Directory and I would like to map this directory to a Website on my Weblogic instance.
Now, I've added LDAP into my Security Realm in Weblogic, what do i add to the web.xml ? Is this sufficient?
Do I need to change anyting else in my Weblogic configuration than adding OpenLDAP Support in Authentication?
    Thanks!

    HI Tim,
Yes LDAP can be used trough SAP BP CMS (BO authentication).
That's means all the users has to be imported into CMS and after that BPC is using for authentication BO certificate to authenticate to CMS.
    So you have also SSO.
You don't need Active directory in this case.
Any way BPC is still working also with Microsoft Active directory without CMS but you have to decide what kind of authentication satisfy better customer requirements.
You can use or Microsoft Active Directory or CMS but you cannot use both in the same time.
    Kind Regards

  • Is it possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external system without SAP PI?

    Hi,
as asked in the title, i am wondering if it is possible to integrate LSO 600 with an external (non-SAP) system without using SAP PI/XI. The external system is a middleware application which can handle RFC functions, IDocs besides the usual web service communications.
However, i don't know how LSO and SAP PI are integrated so i wonder if their interfaces are such that instead of SAP PI another middleware could be used.

Web Services are used. If you were to implement the services in your 3rd party middleware and configure SAP to call it, I suppose it is possible. The external course catalog can be used for CourseEnrollment and LearningProgress. See the application help for details. Don't expect to receive support from SAP with such a setup however.

  • LSO - URL for the CMS and CP

    Hello
I am trying to install LSO for a customer of us.
The components are installed, but during the configuration I need some URL's, but I have no idea how to retrieve the URL.
For the CMS we are going to use the portal.
What I need is the following URL's:
    of the CMS
    of the Content Player
    of the Repository Server
    of the Offline Player
    url-prefix of the master repository.
    Please advise
    Kind regards
    Boudewijn

URL of the CMS is WebDAV URL of one of the KM repositories .
Content player has to be configured by providing R3 user credentials and Portal user credentials at the following url
    http://<hostname:port>/lms/mediator/config
Check performed here should show OK for successsfully playing contents from portal. And I hope you have deployed Content Player software on portal.
Try using  http://<hostname:port>/ for content player url.
Also please let me know at which step do u require these URLs

  • Third party CMS for SAP LSO

    Hello all,
In the master guide for the ERP2005 it says that a Content Management system is required for the Learning Solution. We are planning to set up SAP LSO with a third party Content Management System. What is the minimum requirement for a third party CMS and is there any experience
with Micorsoft Office Sharepoint Service 2007 (MOSS2007) or IBM Content Management?
MOSS2007 seems to only support a subset of WebDAV
    funcionality.
    Regards
    Erik

    Hi,
I hope links like this are allowed with the new SDN rules. We use something called [Click Stream|http://www.sweetlets.com/click_stream.html].
Quite nifty little tool and not even expensive.

  • How to move the changes from one system to other without using CMS

    Hi
In our project they are migrating NWDI 6.40 to NWDI 7.0.
During migration CMS won't be available.
Could you plesae tell what are the different options are there to move the WebDynpro changes from (NWDS) Development to Quality system and then production system without using CMS server?
If i will create a development package and import this packgae in Quality package will my new changes also be available in Quality server?
    Thanks & Regards
    Susmita

    Hi Susmita
I wasn't completely sure, but from your description of your problem, it seemed like you would have access to your DTR during your upgrade. The following solution assumes as much. If this is not the case, you'll need to do things slightly differently, but the solution will still be possible.
Depending on the scope and size of your changes, it may be practical for your developers to deploy directly from their NetWeaver Developer Studio (or for a designated administrator to install the NWDS and do the same). To do so, from the Development Configurations perspective, create a new NWDS project for each of the DCs you want to deploy. Then right-click the project and choose from one of the deployment options. (Deploy new archive and run will allow you to see if your deployment has taken effect.) When deploying, the target server is the one set up as your J2EE engine in the NWDS properties - you'll consequently have to modify this when the target server for your deployment changes (from QA to production, or vice versa).
Note that this is only applicable in certain situations, and only as a short term stopgap measure. This sort of practice - developers or administrators deploying haphazardly to servers other than those intended for development - is precisely what the NWDI is designed to prevent (and is one of very few things it's fairly good at doing). For instance, if your QA and production systems are attached as TEST and PROD runtimes systems respectively in your NWDI, a full assembly and subsequent full deployment would usually occur to these servers when deploying with the NWDI. This is a much stronger guarantee of consistency than the build that will be performed within your local NWDS to deploy your changes. (Conversely, the rigidity of the assembly is perhaps the NWDI's greatest design flaw.)
(Also, Snehal: thanks for the information on the sapmake_util blog. It's not something I've encountered before and looks very useful.)

  • Profile Match up and Training Event details without LSO.

    hello,
We have requirement where we want to show Profile Match up and Training Event details in MSS.But we are not going to use LSO.
so now que is without LSO there ivew will work or not. Now this iview are present in MSS folder. Is this iview are using LSO function module because of that they might not work?
    Thanks in advance.
    Jayesh talreja

To make it more clear.... sorry for not explaining this initially.
    1. There is a service in ESS(ITS) for profile match up.
    2. For mss siddharth is asking from where does the data come in case of pv7i and 8i
So the answer for MSS is that if you need to use profile match up without LSO then you make use of the ITS based profile matchup service to identify how you will carry out a development.
I am not aware of any existing transaction for profie in MSS so you need to develop but the answer to your question is
"you can certainly use TEM (without LSO) to create profile match up in MSS".
This has been done for most of the customers by SAP as not everyone uses LSO.
Function RHPP_SHOW_PROFILE_MATCHUP will help you achieve this very easily without LSO.
Please feel free to ask for more details.

  • Merging projects/.lso files without bouncing?

I have 5 short pieces of dialogue/foley(each in a separate .lso file) that need to end up in 1 edit.
The client has the rough version and will reply shortly with possible changes. Someone else is going to compose music (also in Logic) and i'd like to be able make changes and cater for the added music without having to go back to the smaller projects and bouncing again.
I don't mind doing stuff by hand and so far it all seems to work except moving/copying -ehem- automation between projects.
Any experience or workflow tips for doing this?

Yes, I'm a big fan of folders. There are a few caveats, tho, which I'll tell ya 'bout:
If you have tracks muted (at the track level) and you pack a folder with those tracks, your mutes will come along for the ride. Great! This is what you'd expect. But, if you ever unpack the folder, the mute status of the tracks gets lost.
So before you unpack a folder, check to see if any of the tracks contained therein are muted. If so...
    1. As a safety precaution that you won't hear the wrong regions playing after you unpack the folder, enter the folder and mute all of the individual regions of that track.
    2. In the event that you already have individually muted regions on that track, before muting anything else (as in step 1), color these muted regions so you can later differentiate them from unmuted regions. For this purpose I use red or an "ugly" color.
Now, when you unpack your folder, the red/ugly colored regions will stand out as an indication that:
    a) that track was originally muted within the folder at the track level and needs to be re-muted
    b) if you don't get around to muting that track for a while (it can happen), at least the rest of the regions on that track won't play for the meantime because you muted the individual regions. Here's an example:
    M = track mute
    o = individually muted region
    --- = region
    INSIDE THE FOLDER...
    Track 1 [M] ----------- o-------- ------- o--------
    Track 2 [  ]           ---             -------
    Track 3 [M]       o-------- ------- o--------
    • Color the individually muted regions red/ugly. Mute the other regions.
    • Unpack the folder.
    • You can now re-mute the tracks that were originally muted within the folder, these tracks being indicated by ugly-colored regions
    • manually unmute the non-colored regions.
    Hope that's not too confusing!
