LT1423p not running at native resolution on Windows 8.1

Hi,
I have had the LT1423p touch mobile monitor for about 6 months and it was running fine with Windows 7 and my T440p notebook. Recently upgraded the notebook to Windows 8.1 and am having problems with the mobile monitor not running at 1600x900 resolution.
It runs at ALL resolutions except 1600x900 (e.g. it is fine up to any resolution up to 1440x900). However if I select the resolution to be 1600x900 (either via normal windows screen resolution dialogue or via Lenovo Display Link Manager) it runs at a resolution of 1280x1024 EVEN THOUGH Display Link Manager and default Windows screen resolution dialogue think it is currently running at 1600x900.
It is a very strange issue. Initially I tried with the default LT1423p drivers and have since upgraded both video drivers and displaylink drivers to latest version.
Seems like people here are running with Win 8.1 successfully so I am wondering why it is not working for me.

Been doing some more testing on this.
As it happens the screen resolution does look OK but Windows 8.1 is drawing screen objects with a weird resolution. If I take a window and slowly drag from my notebook screen over to the mobile screen the window resolution is perfect while I drag it across, and then as soon as more than half of the window being dragged is on the second screen, the resolution of the application window (like Windows Explorer or Firefox) just changes to a low resolution that matches a 1280x1024 screen.
The screen itself seems to have the correct resolution but OBJECTS within it have some sort of downscaling applied to them which just seems bizarre!
Going to http://www.whatismyscreenresolution.com/ via firefox in both screens reports different resolutions (1600x900 on notebook and 1280x1024 on mobile monitor). However if I drag an icon or set a 1600x900 wall paper with no stretching they look perfect.

Hi, I have just bought a 22" Westinghouse monitor connected to the dvi and I have no idea on how to display its native resolution of 1680x1050 I have tried mirroring the two monitors and it will not allow me to view the native resolution on my new monitor.

When mirroring, your Macbook Pro will default to the highest resolution of the lowest-resolution display. In this case, your external monitor must be driven at your Macbook Pro's highest resolution; 1440 X 900.
If you configure the external monitor as an extended Desktop, you can increase its resolution to its maximum. In extended Desktop mode, both displays can be driven at their highest supported resolution.

I really need some help. Recently I went from using Visual Studio and SQL 2005 on a laptop (32bit system - Windows XP) to a desktop unit 64bit processor with Windows 7). SSIS on the laptop worked just fine and I could execute and open packages in SSIS; however,

am getting the following errors every time i try to run my projects in debug mode what can be the issue.

Facing error#3500 while running AIR native extension for windows

Hi,
I am stuck in a problem regarding AIR native extension from couple of days.Whenever I tried to run an extension for windows it gives error code 3500 (extension context cannot have the method ie methodname).I am doing all things correctly but don't know where I lack.I am using Flash Builder 4.6 and 64 bit machine.I made the sample extension POC for android ,they are working fine.No such issue.

Elements 12 will not run. I am using windows 7, all updates have been made. When I try to open it up, it loads at first, then closes, and will not open up again. I need help with this, as I have not found a single answer in this forum that works.

As stated, I just downloaded elements 12. Every time i open it up, it gets to the organizer home screen, then shuts down. After this, it will not reopen. I have made all the updates to my windows 7, and I have searched this forum and have yet to find an proper solution to this issue, and by the looks I am not the only person with this issue. I have read many articles about this problem, but I can't really see where the solution is for me.
I need to compile a Visual C++ program that uses msado15.dll. I have Windows 7 SP1 with Visual Studio 2010. I'm targeting Windows Server 2003, 2008 and 2011.

I found a "fixed" file called msado60_backcompat.tlb on a blog, after using it it works on WinServer 2003 and 2008 but not on Windows Server 2011.
Any ideas how I should proceed to solve my problem?

External Samsung 2443BW native resolution not listed

I have a 2007 24" iMac to which I have just added a Samsung Syncmaster 2443BW external monitor on the mini DVI interface. The Mac finds the monitor fine but the preferences panel only shows available resolutions up to 1680 x 1050 at 59.9 Hz rather than the 1920 x 1200 at 60 Hz which is native for the hardware and the same as the iMac panel. I am using the Apple DVI to VGA adapter for hookup and am running this on the analogue input (VGA) to the monitor. I have swapped the VGA cable with a known good one to no effect. Any suggestions fro how to proceed would be welcome. The extended desktop that is desired is usable at the lower resolution but the display is well below it's potential since it is running below native resolution. Thanks for any help offered

Why does the MacBook Retina 15" do software scaling to the native resolution of 2880x1800?

OS X does not allow changing the viewport resolution to the native 2880x1800, and it suggests 1440x900 as a retina optimized one. This means that software scaling is done on the fly. My question is, why?
I have two suspicions:
1. Running everything at the native resolution puts a bigger strain on the GPU, hence slowing down the OS, putting down battery time.
2. The number of apps using retina-ready sprites is miniscule, hence Apple does not want to mess with the user experience. Although I doubt it, as software post-processing is done even now, and apps with non-retina sprites look slightly blurred. If the native resolution would have been used, they would just look a bit more blurry.
Just some comments:
1. Switching to the native resolution will make everything smaller, up to the point of not being usable. But this is a non-argument, as the OS could be smart enough to use bigger versions of the sprites/icons/text. Apple already demands that developers use hi-res sprites (OS X Human Interface Guidelines), hence everything could be scaled x2 and it would be the same size at 2880x1800, as it is at 1440x900 in the current version of the OS.
2. Technically it is possible, as outlined here: Running the Retina MacBook Pro at Full 2880x1800 Resolution. Have a look at the comments too, there are some interesting observations in line with this question, but no definite answers.
3. I am aware that the OS X Cocoa server is running at native resolution at all times. This question is concerned with the viewport resolution, which requires hacks to be set to the native one.

LabVIEW Program not running if i lock my PC (using an EXE made from LabVIEW)

Hi everyone
I observed some odd behavior when I was running my program on a PC. I prepared an EXE for a LabVIEW program, this am running on another PC. Purpose of the program is to read a text file and follow the command given in that text document, we are accessing parallel port, calling third party EXEs in this. It is not running when I minimize the window or lock the PC. Do we have any property in VI properties for this?

Hi Anil,
Minimizing the application or locking Windows should not stop the executable from running. Can you reproduce this behavior on the development PC? Also try to create an executable with a simple VI that counts the number of iteration and check for this behavior ?

EM Daemon is not running.

Today when I started my laptop (XP SP2 with Oracle 10gR2, used as stand alone just for practice) I tried as usual to start the listener and called the EM DB console. I do this operation everyday and today I noticed from the console that everything was down, listener and connection to instance. This never happened so I started thinking of what I might have changed last time and the only operation I did was creating 2 directory objects 1 for data dumps and one for the relative logs from the command output. I used expdp from command line to export a table and this worked fine. Nothing else.
Today not only the console is not working but sqlplus gives as output:
ORA-01034: ORACLE not available
ORA-27101: shared memory realm does not exist
What I found is that when running
emctl status dbconsole
the output says : EM Daemon is not running.
I checked the windows services and all needed processes seemed to be running.
Despite I tried to restart the DBconsole process nothing changed.
Then restarted the OracleService<SID> process and checked again with
emctl status dbconsole.
Again it goes "EM Daemon is not running". But if I try to restart it tells me that the agent is already running.
I thought nothing had been fixed, instead surprisingly everything was now working fine, console and sqlplus.
Any idea of what might have happened? And ... is it regular that I still see the message EM Daemon is not running even if everything seems to be up and running ?
I then restarted my laptop and had exactly same experience - nothing was up despite the OracleService<SID> process was started in the services panel as well as the listener and the dbconsole agent.
Again, the situation was fixed by restarting the OracleService<SID> process although the output of emctl status dbconsole shows "EM Daemon is not running ".
This has happened overnight, and as said the only operations I did were those 2 basic creations of directories objects and dump of a user table. Until yesterday I never needed to manually restart the OracleService<SID> process.
Please let me know if you would like to see any logs or have the precise commands I ran.

Thanks Madrid - it is weird because my laptop is isolated on may desk, and does not connect to any network since one month back. I have always been working with the loopback adapter that I configured months back following the indication on the Oracle site. So I configured it with 192.168.5.5 and always called the em console via my hostname and port, and the hostname is locally mapped to the above IP in the hosts file.
Coming to your advise, I noticed that EM configured with my localhost as the host name. In example, in the homepage the listener looks like LISTENER_"pasticci-116b1b" being "pasticci-116b1b" my hostname.
But above all - what I can't understand is what happened between yesterday and today to have triggered this kind of problems, since before shutting down yesterday I only did those apparently harmless operations...

Native resolution problem on Boot Camp running Windows 8.1 on Macbook PRO 15 (2011)

Couple days ago I purchased a DELL U2414h display, and I came across some problems while trying to use it with Windows 8.1 on Boot Camp.
Everything works like a charm on MAC OS X and I get 1680x1050 resolution on my 2011 15 inch Macbook PRO, and 1920x1080 on the external DELL display.
The problem starts when I run Windows 8.1... I get my native resolution on the Macbook, but the maximum usable resolution on the external display is 1776x1000. There's an option to choose 1920x1080, but when I do that, the screen looks blurry. Is there any way to overcome this problem?
I'm using HDMI Adapter, and I installed all the drivers which were downloaded while installing the Boot Camp

No I haven't, but could it be the case? The same display with the same adapter works fine while running the MAC OS X.
But yeah, the adapter converts the mini display port to HDMI (as far as I know)

Not a solution yet, but received the following from one of the tech people I've been e-mailing back & forth with.
"I'm sorry that you have been unable to submit your podcast. The podcast submission form is currently offline. When trying to submit the podcast you will receive this message "We are Currently Experienced Technical Difficulties". Once the issue has been resolved, I would be glad to inform you.
Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available."
Who knows, maybe the problem isn't with my feed after all.

Can LCD TV 32HL833B not achieve native resolution (1920x1080) from a PC ?

I've bought this LCD TV for use mainly as a PC Monitor. It's currently at 1280x1024 but the text is too big & blurry and I've read that it would be much better in its native resolution of 1920 x 1080.
The PC is running Windows XP with standard "Plug and Play Monitor on INtel Q965/Q963 Express Chipset Family." which only has a VGA output. I didn't have this resolution at first so I downloaded a driver [1] update 6.14.10.5016.
I now have 1920x1080 as an option on the Windows "Display Properties"/Settings but when I apply it, the TV overscans [2] with a huge area to the right hand side of the screen. The screen adjusts as I scroll right but I often miss pop ups from the Windows tray.
I tried to run PowerStrip [3] but the resolution keeps reverting to 1280x1024 (where no overscan occurs). And secondly the TV refused to power off and, although after a hard reset it is OK, I'm concerned about damaging it.
I'm willing to purchase a graphics card with a HDMI output but on reading page 18 of the HL833B spec [4] section "Acceptable PC signals through HDMI terminals" am now concerned that the maximum resolution I can get is only 1280x1024 (which is what I have now via VGA). There's another table where the maximum resolution from "Video HDMI" is the native resolution 1920x1080 (as expected).
Can anyone advise
1. Why is the max resolution of a PC signal through HDMI only 1280x1024 ?
2. Would buying a graphics card help to achieve 1920x1080 ?

There are no HLP files in the Windows 8.1 Update. There are many in Windows.old Windows 8.0. System32.
Alerted to this bug during hardware installation. New audio card Asus Xonar STX help file is in *.hlp format. Like all 8.0 help files, Asus HLP will not open. Windows 8.1 fresh install will not open any HLP file and opens window linking me to this
