LTE Band 12 Support for better connection

I was deeply disappointed to find the recent 5.1.1 release of Android didn't include adding Band 12 support to the Z3C! The Sony representative I spoke to in March said the phone had the radio to be able to connect via Band 12 and just needed to be enabled in the software. Recently they enabled Band 12 for the Z3 (http://www.androidpolice.com/2015/06/03/t-mobile-updates-its-xperia-z3-to-lollipop-throws-in-band-12-lte-support-for-good-measure/) so they clearly have the software to do this already, anyone know if they're going to add it to the Z3C? For anyone on T-mobile it will equate to a substantial improvement in signal availability and strength (further reach, better building penetration), and everything else you do is much less important than that! I'd definitely have prioritized this over LinkedIn integration... Anyone else agree? Heard if/when band 12 will be added? If you have more information or just want want to note that you want this too please respond.

I know perfectly well what VLAN is since i work with networking every day and that's why i asked because i still cannot understand what maharaja mean by AC VLAN support. I asked because i might be able to help since i use VLAN with AC a lot so don't understand exactly what he find to be missing. I'm pretty sure what he is looking for is already there.
Not sure why you felt it necessary to post such a arrogant reply which is not helpful for anyone, but asking for VLAN support could be several things so that's why some further explaination would be necessary to understand what exactly the request is about. I guess you  made you point to tell everyone you know what VLAN is, but then you should also realize that the question in the first post might need some further explanation since the feature might already be there.

  • LTE Band 12 support on Lumia 640 series devices

T-Mobile USA recently began to offer service on LTE Band 12.  Many of its newer devices support Band 12.   I have been reviewing the specifications for the new Lumia 640 devices, and am very surprised to notice that the "LTE Dual SIM" versions of the 640 support Band 12, but the non-dual-SIM version -- i.e., the model that T-Mobile USA itself will be selling -- does NOT list Band 12 support.
I'm hoping that the device actually does have the hardware to support that band and that the reason it's not being listed is for regulatory reasons.   If that was the case, then presumably the capability could be enabled by a software update at a later time.
Band 12 support is something I am looking for in my next phone and this will impact my purchasing decisions.   So with this all in mind, a few questions:
    1.  Does the T-Mobile version of the phone have the hardware capability to eventually support Band 12?
    2.  Will the dual SIM LTE version of the 640 work on T-Mobile's band 12?

Models sold in the US often have different hardware than those sold elsewhere in the world because US networks have a habit of doing things their own way in complete deference to the rest of the world. The only other country that has its own hardware variants these days is China.
You will have to check with T-Mobile if their variant has any different hardware than other US variants because the specs on the Microsoft web site are not likely to show it.
Band 12 is not T-Mobile's, it is the same Band 12 that every other network uses, if you can get a model which supports that band then it will work.

  • Wildcard Certifiate support for Unity Connection

Does Unity Connection started supporting Wildcard cerficates for the Unified messaging with Exchange integration?
CUPS 8.6.4 started supporting it for Calendar integration but we are not getting any document related to Unity Connection which states its supported now.
    BR,
    Sachin

    Hi,
    Thanks for the question.
Okay so I did some digging and found a few details that will help clear this up.
    1. The documentation is wrong and we will be getting it correct as soon as we can. The CUC 9 admin guides states that you need to create an 'External Service' however this configuration has been changed.
    2. Yes, Exch 2010 and I'm sure Exch 2013 will be supported. TTS uses IMAP for the connection method and as long as Exch permits IMAP traffic you're good.
    3. To configure TTS, of course enable IMAP for Exchange. On the CUC side, you'll need to start with the class of service and check the following "Allow Access to Exchange Email by Using Text to Speech (TTS)". Then you'll need to create a new unified messaging service where you add the details of the Exch server and make sure to check "
Access Exchange Email by Using Text to Speech (TTS)". Then apply that UM service to an end user and test. FYI, when you check the message from the TUI it will be the option of external messages (default option 7).
Let me know if you have any other questions.
    Good Luck,
    Brad

    [Subject edited for better exposure]

Thanks GLIMMERMAN76 for your reply. When I looked at the specs again, I missed some vital information. Here is the correct specs: NETWORK LTE Band 13/4 (700/1700 MHz), CDMA/1xEVDO Rev. A (800/1900 MHz) GLOBAL NETWORK EDGE/GSM (850/900/1800/1900 MHz), HSPA/UMTS(850/900/1900/2100 MHz) Now, if I port my phone/number to AT&T, Would it work fine with all features? I am asking this questions as now all the new phones come with inbuilt GSM.

  • CS4 drops support for databases?

I just got off a lengthy call with Dreamweaver tech support,
and they confirmed that there is no longer any support for database
connectivity using ASP.Net VB in the new CS4 version. The only
connectivity that is supported is through a Spry Dataset. The
technician said that this appears to be a security related issue
and that Adobe has no intentions of changing this.
    Why would Adobe do this?
I have used Dreamweaver for many years, and this was one of
the strongest parts of the program, and the decision ends our
company’s use of any newer version of the product.

The dropping of support for ASP.NET was announced in August
    2007, but
support for ASP, PHP and CF hasn't been dropped. The reason
    for .NET to
be dropped isn't just security, its down to Adobe never being
    able to
keep up with all the updates from Microsoft for .NET. They
    just can't
    compete with Microsoft's own products.
I am still on CS3, and don't have any plans to get CS4, as
    the features
don't make a big enough difference for me, yet. So if you
    need .NET
support, stick with CS3, but you will only be using getting
    .NET v1.1 so
you will be far behind everyone else.

  • Lumia 920 support for LTE in Korea

So I purchased an unlocked version of the lumia 920 from an online retailer and just received it today. I popped in my 3G sim that I was using with another phone and it connected fine and well. 3G speeds were fairly fast. 4g speeds are very fast in Korea for phones that are sold here and want to experience those speeds on my new phone. I would like to upgrade to a 4G sim with accompaning plan with my current carrier in Korea, but my question is if it is even possible to do this...
After doing some research, I found some websites with some interesting information...
    seekingalpha.com/article/1071481-nokia-lumia-920-there-is-a-non-lte-version-nokia-forgot-to-tell-inv...
    www.expansys.com/blog/?p=2096
According to the above sites, 4g is disabled in the firmware for factory unlocked phones. Is this true?
It also showed a set of pictues of the packaging's device labels - one showing the 4g lte bands and one without.
Checking my phone's box and it is without the 4g lte frequency information.
Both of these sites mention something about Nokia "working with the carrier" to provide an update that'll make the phone compatible with that carrier's 4g network. Is this accurate information? In the best case, i could just buy a 4g sim, change to an accompaning 4g plan, replace sims in the phone and have 4g connectivity.
But if 4g is disabled for persons who purchase global unlocked  versions and want to use it where nokia has near to no presence in (Korea for me) and like the above site says - have to wait for nokia and the carrier to provide an update, what steps have to be taken for 4g to be enabled? Do I have to make a formal request somewhere? Is there an automation process where this update is automatically generated? Or would I have to just wait and pray for something to happen...
Being a Nokia fan in Korea has its rare downs.

    Hi mate,
Yes if you have purchased a version of the 920 from overseas that has LTE disabled for the moment (due to the fact that the 920 variant that you have purchased is made for a market where 4G is not yet available e.g. the case with the 920 I have that is for Great Britain), then the LTE functionality will be enabled in a future update that is for sure, when LTE service is available in that variant's country.
Have you checked if you already have 4G on your 920? Goto Settings > Mobile Network, and check under "Highest connection speed" if there is a 4G under the 3G and 2G already there. If it is really bothering you though and there is no update on the situation after a couple of months or you wish to do it now, please contact your local Nokia by clicking the Nokia Support link at the bottom of this page.
    Hope this information helps you.

  • Lte support for lumia 1520 model in india

    hi,
am planning to buy the lumia 1520 here in india.
What is the model number [ rm 937 or rm 938 or rm 939 or rm 940 ] of the model sold officially in india ?
does this model have support for 4g/lte networks, irrespective of the fact that carriers in india currently do not offer 4g/lte networks ?
is it true that even if the model has 4g/lte support, it is disabled for sale in india ?
    Thanks in advance
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hi hardisk88,
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
The RM model compatible with India is RM-937. The phone supports LTE frequency bands, however your network provider should also support this service to enjoy LTE connections using your Lumia 1520 in India. Here's the supported LTE frequency bands: LTE bands: 2100, 1800, 2600, 900, 200.
    Hope this helps.

  • Will VS 2015 offer any better javascript support for intellisense compare to 2013 or 2012?

Ive started using AngularJS and the intellisense or code completion features are kinda blah in 2012 and done appear to be much any better in 2013.  Is there hope for 2015?
Other developers doing alot of front end work with javascript, especially with some of the newer frameworks are using tools like Webstorm for the front-end code and leaving VS for the back-end code.  Id rather not use two different IDE's if possible.
Luckily, for now the front end code isnt that extensive on my projects, but that is starting to change.
    eg.

  • HT2822 What is the better Connection on Apple TV v2, Ethernet or Wifi 802.11n???? does not support with ethernet gigabit?

What is the better Connection on Apple TV v2, Ethernet or Wifi 802.11n????
Does not support with ethernet gigabit?

If you have stable wifi with good connectivity it should work fine - in reality many people struggle with wifi.
I was plagued by interference issues with wifi whenever the microwave was used and would always use ethernet now as my first preference for stability.
As the house is not wired for ethernet several years ago I tried mains powerline network adapters that are made by many companies.
I use these from Devolo currently:
    http://www.devolo.co.uk/consumer/81_dlan-500-avmini_starter-kit_product-pictures _8.html?l=en
They are excellent and you can create a wired network in minutes without running long lengths of cable.
As with wifi they never achieve the highest rated speeds and are dependent on the wiring quality but are more than adequate for HD streaming to multiple AppleTVs.
Many other manufacturers produce these eg Belkin, Netgear etc as well as lesser known brands.

  • Supported LTE bands vs networks

As you may have noticed, iPad Air 2 supports virtually all LTE bands, available on iPhone 6 and below - and yet, it does not support some LTE networks that work fine on iPhone 6, 5S and 5C (China Unicom being such); similar story with iPad Air (A1475). Having approved the network for iPhone but not iPad seems odd on Apple's behalf, and I'm wondering if that may change via future firmware updates. Thanks for your time; any feedback is welcome!

You aren't going to get an answer from Apple here. This is a user to user help forum. Apple is not here.

  • Lte bands supported by iPhone 6 GSM from USA

    Hello all,
I live in Norway and my brother goes to school in USA.
I was planning to get him to buy me an iPhone 6 but i worry if the USA GSM iPhone 6 support the LTE bands in Norway.
I know this was an issue with iPhone 5 and 5S.
In Norway we, for the most part, use band 3, 7 and 20.
So my question is does the iPhone 6 GSM sold in USA support LTE bands 3, 7 and/or 20?

The going rate at applestore in Norway (with todays exchange rate) for the base 6 with 64GB is $1043 so there is a substancial amount to be saved, close to $300.
Yes, I know. We had an exchange student from Rena Norway last. She bought an iPhone 5s before she left because of the substantial cost difference. LTE was not an issue as she was mostly using WIFI on her phone.
I am traveling to Norway during December of this year. It will be my second trip having visited Oslo and Rena on my last trip. I was there during Norway's independence celebration. Had front row seats at the palace in Oslo for the parade. Really enjoyed the clothing. Also experienced Kippers and three different kinds of Caviar. For one of the meals I was greeted with reindeer and it was really quite good.
When I travel to Europe I use my iPhone 5 and just get a sim when I arrive. Never had a problem. No LTE data but for my needs the slower 3G worked fine.
