LTE for Japanese iPhone 5 (gsm) model A1429 **unlocked** ME039J/A

I have been reading forums for years, never posted before so here goes.
I purchased an unlocked iPhone 5 from an online merchant. I was replacing the iPhone 5c that was stolen from me. Any way, The phone arrives and I pop an an old t-mobile nano sim in it and it registers on t-mobiles network as 4G (not 4G LTE) I figured this was because the service was not active. I decided to go with NET10 as my provider. Any way it activates as TFW 3G. I almost lose my mind... I'm finding out that this iPhone may not support LTE in the United States... I am hoping this is incorrect... Although 4G is nice to have I would most rather prefer LTE service.
PLEASE HELP..

Due to the variances in how LTE is implemented, it is unlikely that
you will get LTE on an iPhone meant for other than the US market.
If LTE is important to you, sell that iPhone and use the funds towards
the purchase of an iPhone meant for the US market. You have run into
one of the problems of trying to use an iPhone outside of the intended
market for that particular model.

I would like to know if iphone 5 GSM model A1429 is unlocked and is available in stores in the US in order to buy and use in Europe. Please let me know.
    Thanks

Not officially for sale in the US, at the present time, although Apple's flagship store on 5th Ave, in New York City, gets supplies from time-to-time. However, no GSM US model iPhone 5 will support LTE anywhere other than North America. It will not support LTE in Europe. If you want LTE support in Europe, you need to purchase your phone in Europe.

Hi have a iphone 4 gsm model. Can not activate because I do not know carrier. The phone is in setup so I can not get serial numbers or imei number. Sim carrier is blank. Can anyone assist

You need a Sim inside the iPhone to activate it.  If the iPhone is locked to a carrier,  you need a Sim from that carrier.  The person who sold you the iPhone should be able to give you that information, but if it is not available, you need to get it from Apple Care.  Call them.

  • IPhone 4 (GSM Model) Touchscreen Presses by Itself?

I had gotten my iPhone 4 on July 15th, 2011. One day, the touchscreen became unresponsive and started to press random parts all on its own, therefore calling and sending text messages to my contacts. The iPhone became uncontrollable after that.
I had tried restoring to iOS 4.3.3 three times, however the restore failed with an error message from iTunes all three times. Then the iPhone got stuck on a recovery loop. (The screen with the USB cable and the iTunes logo.)
I had sent it in to the Apple Store for servicing.
Unfortunately, it happened again twice for the past 2 days.
However, this time I was able to restore to iOS 4.3.5.
My friend had told me that her boss in Taiwan also had this issue with his iPhone 4, but he got a replacement for his iPhone.
    Can anybody help?

yes my iphone4 is also listed as iphone3.1

Standard warranty is for one year, and doubled to 2 years if AppleCare or AppleCare + is purchased.

  • HT4993 I asked for this iphone 5s to be factory unlocked, because i need to use it inside/outside the country, now i'm outside and this phone is locked, i need assistance!

Can somebody help me?! Those people from sprint gave me an iphone 5s locked, even when inasked for an unlocked one, now i'm outside the country and i need to use it with another carrier and it just say: "sim invalid"

You bought a no contract iPhone, not an unlocked one. Had you purchased a Verizon one the GSM side would have been unlocked but you have to follow Sprint's process to unlock the GSM side of their phone. If there is any way possible you need to return this phone and get your money back or sell it and use the money to buy an unlocked iPhone.

  • Can I buy Model A1429 (GSM model) in Canada?

In apple's announce, New iPhone has 3 models, A1428 (GSM model) , A1429 (GSM model) , A1429 (CDMA model) .
A1428 model can use LTE on band 4 and band 17.
But I hardly use iPhone in Canada, wherease I can use iPhone in other countries (ex. UK, Germany, Singapore...)
So I want to buy A1429 model in Canada.
Can I buy Model A1429 (GSM model) in Canada?

The answer is no you can not Canada's cellphone providers uses the A1428 model only not the A1429 CDMA/GSM used  in the United States unless you are a (sprint) or a (Verizon) subscriber.

That's fine, but it is not clear what you're asking when you post in English.
Again, if your iPhone is locked to a carrier, only that carrier can unlock it. If you just purchased this iPhone from someone, ask that person the carrier to which the iPhone is locked.
If that's not what you mean by "blocked", you will have to explain further.

  • How to use 4G or LTE in my Iphone 5

    hello
    how u doing?
i am from Oman and am using the Iphone 5
but i have a problem which is that i cant use the 4G
my network company do provide 4G service
when i go to Setting > Cellular i have only ( Enable 3G)
how to get Enable LTE option??
so later i can use the 4G

OK, but which LTE band is used by your network for its 4G service?
Here are the bands supported by each iPHone 5 model:
    GSM model A1428*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1700/2100, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 4 and 17)
    CDMA model A1429*: CDMA EV-DO Rev. A and Rev. B (800, 1900, 2100 MHz); UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5, 13, 25)
    GSM model A1429*: UMTS/HSPA+/DC-HSDPA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz); GSM/EDGE (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz); LTE (Bands 1, 3, 5)
If you have, A1429 GSM, your network needs to use 4G bands 1, 3 or 5.  Otherwise your iPhone will not be able to use the 4G network of your operator.
    I hope this helps.

  • HT3939 LTE service Digitel venezuela for iphone 5 model A1429 GSM

Good afternoon to let me know when the LTE service will be available for digiteloperator in my country Venezuela

Hmmm. I just ran GeekBench here in Sydney and it has identified my A1429 iPhone 5 as a CDMA version. Whatever, it is running fine on LTE on the Telstra network here.
Is this just a glitch in GeekBench or is Apple really using the Verizon A1429 version interchangeably with the GSM-only A1429 as the world-phone?

  • I have iphone 5 model A1429 , i want to know it will be suppourted for lte in UAE

Du network is working in LTE to be suppourted for the iphone 5 , i want to know whoch model will be suppourted .

There are currently no carriers in UAE supporting LTE on the iPhone. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1937
Be careful if you are buying a phone from the US with the intent of using it in the Middle East.
The A1429 is not available as an unlocked phone in the US and may not support the 3G frequencies used by some carriers there.
You would be smarter to purchase a phone from an authorized source in your own country.

  • Is the Iphone 5 model A1429 (CDMA) and model A1429 (GSM) the same phone?

Apple is inconsistent on their information for the iphone 5. One the LTE info site (http://www.apple.com/iphone/LTE/) it lists three different models, specifically showing that there is both a GSM and CDMA version of Model A1429.
However, on the iphone 5 shopping FAQs (http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/shop_iphone/family/iphone) it specifically says:
Can I use an iPhone when traveling internationally?
iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S are both world phones, so you can use them almost anywhere. Whether you are a GSM or CDMA network customer, you can roam on GSM networks in 200 countries around the world. iPhone 4 for AT&T can also roam on other GSM networks around the world. iPhone 4 for Sprint will work in approximately 40 countries and iPhone 4 for Verizon Wireless will work in approximately 45 countries that use CDMA technology. Availability of LTE data on iPhone 5 varies in some countries and depends on carrier support for certain LTE radio frequencies. Contact your wireless carrier for more information regarding international roaming policies and rates.
As you can read in the bolded type above, the CDMA version of the phone will be capable of using GSM networks. Does this mean, for example, that an iphone purchased in Australia (LTE band 3 with Telstra) will be usable in the US (Sprint and Verizon LTE bands).
What I'm most interested in is using LTE in the US on an Australia purchased phone.
