LTP & Prod. Versions validity

Hello,
Just wanted to confirm if there is a way to ignore the validity period of production versions during the long term planning run. The validity of our production versions is quite short around 6 to 8 months though the BOM  & Recipes validity is long.
We want to carry out the LTP run for around 18 months. Is there a way to ignore the validity of the production versions so that the LTP creates the proposal without any errors ( ie BOM not found messages - msg 52 ). any customizing or other entry to ignore the validity period of the production versions & just take the bom & recipe validity into account????
Many thx.

Dear Muhammad Sharf,
1.You can not ignore the validity dates of the Production version either in MRP or LTP.
2.This is not possible either by doing any settings in the background or in the front end.
3.Just check out this, remove the BOM slection method value 2 in the material master and let it be
blank, lock the production version and then run MS02 and check(I'm not sure whether this work).
Check and revert back.

  • For a particular material there are active valid Prod Versions.

    Hi all,
If there are two active Prod Versions for a material in R/3 for a PP-PI scenario.
Prod Version 0001 from Lot Size 1 to 17000 Kg
Prod Version 0002 from Lot Size 17001 to 340000 Kg
The BOM and  Master Recipes are different in both the Prod Versions.
In Order type dependent parameter the Selection of Prod version is set as manual selection of Prod Version.
    1. If the Material Master data Fixed Lot size is (Lot size data=FX for this material in MRP1 view ) maintained  as 17000 Kg. All the Planned Orders will be of 17000Kg. Then Prod Scheduler needs to change the Planned Order Qty manually every time for Prod version 0002 ?
    Please guide

    Dear,
IF the lot size is FX, then whatever may be the production qty as per the requirement system will create a planned order of size 1700.
Now let us say as per the MRP calculation if planned order requirement is 1600 qty, system will choose the production version 1 and the planned order qty as per the lot size will be 1700.
If the MRP calculated qty is 1701, then system will choose production version 2 and system will create two planned orders with qty of 1700.
Yes with setting the planned order qty has to be adjusted to get the realistic planned order qty.
Hence you can go for lot size EX, with this setting the above situation will be as below.
If the qty calculated  from MRP is 1600, production version 1 is selected and the planned order qty is 1600
If the calculated qty from MRP is 1701, production version 2 is selected and the planned order qty will be 1701.
Please let us know is it answered your question?

  • Planned order to prod order----order type and prod version/ routing

    Hi,
My client produces a material in three different locations. The process at all the locations is same. Each location has the set of same work centers. We have differentiated the workcenters at the three different locations by naming conventions. I am mainting three counters in the routing with different set of work centers.
We want different order types for the production orders processed at these three locations. Also I should be in a position to select the routing/ production version manually for the production orders processed at the three different locations. When I am creating a production order manually, I can select the order type and even the routing or production version.
But here I am converting the planned order to production order. The system is picking the order type as maintained in OPPE. In OPL8 I maintained manual  selection of prod version. But version 1 is selected default by the system. Can I have any control over the selection of order type and prod version/ routing?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Raghu

    Dear,
Selection of production version is only possible at manual creation of production order, but not when converting planned order to production order. you can manually change the production version if u want to in the planned order. When you have a planned order it would default contain a valid production version. So system would just take the Production version in the planned order to use the same in Production order. If you want to change the production version in production order then go to CO02-FunctionRead PP Master data and change it.
(Goto OPL8 and select Manual Selection of Production Order in Production Version field
And in MRP4 view of material master select - Selection only by production version as the option for the Selection method field )
    Hope clear to you.

  • How to assign BOM & Routing to Prod Version.

    Dear Frndz,
Pls tell me how to assign BOM & Routing to Prod Version. This is to execute the REM flow.
    Regards,
    Srini

    Hi,
    Step1. Create Material MM01
    Step2. Create BOM CS01
    Step3. Create Rate Routing CA21
Step4. In MM02 for the above material, go to MRP4 View and click on production version pushbutton, and give Version Number and description and the validity dates and rem allowd indicator and then double click on the version line, it will take u to another screen, there you Select rate routing and assign the group & group counter in Planning Data and then in BOM Data u enter Alt BOM & BOM Usage details. For rem tick on REM Allowed check box and then click on Check, if all the assignment is OK then it will give you a message saying BOM & ROUTING available. Save the material master.

  • Make to order with Prod version with object depedency

I m using 2 production version. In both case BOM & Routing having object dependency. Its make to order scenario. How can I select prod version in costing as well in configuration in sales order. Because by default its taking first version for both configuration & costing. How??
And if I select second version in sales order, in prod order it should automatically take second version. How??
    Thanks
    varun

    Hello Varun,
If you have two valid production versions for a part then by default system take the first available production version. You have give some selection criteria through quota arrangement.
In ck11n you have the option for selecting the vesion in the quantity structure tab so i think there will be no problem for costing.
For selection of production version in the production order you have work with planning strategy 82. Or incase of MTO (strategy 20) run MRP from MD50...your assigned production version in sales order will be planned.
    If helpful rewards your points

  • Prod Version Slection during conversion of planned order to production orde

    Dear Experts,
I have two BOM for a semi finished product. I have created two production version for the same. After MRP run, it created planned order for BOM1.  This is fine.
My requirement is, when I convert the planned order to production order, it should ask for selection of production order as it ask while creating the production order using CO01. I know that I can select the alternate prodution version by reading the PP master data. Can system ask for selection of production order while converting the planned order to production order.
    Thanking You,
    Chetan

    Dear Chetan,
If you have manual selection of production version set in OPL8 and if you have set the BOM selection method as 2 in
MRP 4 view of the material master then,
1.If you create a production order manually then the system displays the pop up to select a production version.
2.If you are converting the planned order into a production order then it picks up the one which is
present in the planned order. So obviously if 2 production versions are there with same lot size and
validity dates, then the system picksup the first one only during MRP run.
Even if it picks up the first prod.version in planned order, but while converting click on master data and
change the production version if required.
3.Otherwise what you can do is set the production version in MD61 itself ,so that its going to be
    considered during MRP run.
    Check out and revert back.

  • Sales Order Costing using prod version

    Hi Guru,
My client use MTO and have prod version 1000 & 2000.  When I create SO and choose prod.version 1000,  prod.order created using BOM/Routing in prod.version 1000, so the prod order cost plan.
But in costing SO, prod version 2000 is use as base in qty structure, it's mean SO plan cost is based on prod version 2000, not 1000.
How the logic of SO costing ? where config to be set in order to get SO costing based on prod version choosen.
Reward will given to any input.
    Thanks

You may want to have a look at OKK5 - Quantity structure determination.(QSD)
Choose the Quantity Structure control and double click. Then click on the BOM application. In there, there is section for override alternative selection from material master. There is a check box for production version. whose help reads as
This indicator shows that, when alternatives are selected automatically according to application, the production versions maintained in the material master record are used as selection criteria.
    Dependencies
<b>In the MRP view of the material master, in the requirements explosion data, the indicator for selecting alternative BOMs is maintained.
When you explode the  BOM, only the alternatives for which selection by production version (2) is defined are taken into account for selection.</b>

  • REM Prod Version: How to hide/disable Storage Location fields

    Hi,
    We are using REM.
For Issue storage locations, we are maitaining str location in BOM/MRP2 View.
For Receving Str locatiom, we are maitaining str location in MRP2 View.
Similarly, for REM assemblies, system provides str locations fields in Production Version.
Requst to guide on following points:
    1. What is the application and priority of Strorage locations in Prod Version (PV)?
    2. Can the Str locations in PV be hidden/disabled?
    Regards

    Hi NITIN,
<b>For receiving storage location of finished goods in REM system gives priority for selecting stor loc as below.</b>
Production version (Rec.stor.loc) -> MRP view (prod stoarge loc)
<b>For issue storage location of components  in REM system gives priority for selecting stor loc  as below.</b>
BOM (issue storage loc) --> MRP view (prod stoarge loc)  -->Production version (Rec.stor.loc)
why do u want disable the storage loc at production version.

  • Planned Order, with first Prod Version.

    Dear All,
I am Trying to use Production version for diffrent style of Production Req for same product.
When i Gave PV in MD61, for diff days, diff PVs,
Is is not reflecting in PLanned ORders.
Planned Order have only one PV. for all RIRs.
    Kindly let me know the,
    Where cud i miss .
In MRP 4 Selection is 3,
    Ind/Coll : 1
    Stratgy :40
    Regards
    Raghu

    Raghu,
1)check material master selection/explosion  of BOM is always by by production.
    2) lots size should not have oevrlapping.
    3) and you cant create PIR in same period with differnt versions.
4)You might want to check whether the In-house Prod Time in Material Master has been maintained. I would think that this is the cause of the inconsistencies.
By right, if you run MRP by lead time scheduling, you don't need to enter the In-house Prod Time in MRP 2 view, because MRP will calculate the prod time by using your routing data.
    5)Message no. MD425 ,
Please check the routing for all level in CA02 and do the consistance check through CA02ExtraConsistance check.
6)The error is talking about the Scheduling Master data.
What was the scheduling type selected during the MRP run
Basci scheduling: make sure the In house production data in material master is maintained.
Lead time scheduling: make sure the Scheduling data in routing is maintained properly.
7)Check the setting of *OPU5 *check the selection ID and also check setting in OPJH. And also check routing selction id COR4 . Also check the status usage and validity date of routings
another thing is , please describe what exact results you are expecting.

  • Routing / Prod Version - Issue

    Gurus
I have one doubt or may be i am not fully clear about it......
We have materials which are externally procured i.e. F & so there is no routing for them. But while doing settlement; we get error that "cannot find master recipe / routing for the order"......Why is it so? Was there some mistake while costing or how to rectify this
Seconly we have few materials with type E which have 2 BOM's & 2 routings but there was no production versions and while settlement it gave same error "cannot find master recipe / routing for the order"......
We have already settled and closed it but how will this impact from finance point of view & how to resolve them for future
Can you please comment on above issues and clear the doubt
    Rgds

    Hi vicky
During settlement the cost which are stored in production order should be settled to the FI account. It should be either Credit Or debit account.
For which we have to selecte the appropriate Receivers in settlement profile.
For externally procured items. It should be settled to material account not to the cost center account. Please check.
for your second question please in change mode CO02 . look your prod order details in operation over view and component over view whether BOM and Routing is selected.
Because it cannot tell in final settlement " cannot find master recipe / routing"   Error should be in the beginning itself while creating prod order.
Please check again the settlement receivers.
    Hope this is clear

  • Prod No validation at the field level attribute

    Hi,
I have a qualifying table, whose field refers to one of the product number in main table. It means, I can have a product number linked to another product number defined in the main table. Hence, I have defined the text field in the qualifying table to capture this related product number.
Now, how do I validate, if the product number entered is valid within Data Manager. Basically, it needs to validate if the product number specified is present in the main table.
Please let me know, if any suggestions to define such validations on a free-form text field.
    Thanks,
    Surendra

    Hi Surendra,
Make the prdt no as a unique field. If when ur gng to add any new record with the prdt no already in the main table then it will pop -up a message that record already present.
I think this may solve the issue (acc to my understanding)
If problem persists kindly explain the scenario in simple manner.
    Hope this amy help u.

  • MRP run with lot size as per prod. version and capacity levelling

    Dear PP experts,
Hi, We are working with strategy 10. For SFG and FG produced inhouse we have created BOM and recipe with production version.
    For example:
I have a production version with batch size as 100 Kg.
I load PIR for 500 Kg in MD61.
I have maintained lot size as EX in the material master but I have not defined mini. and max. lot size.
Is it possible during the MRP to consider the production version batch size if the mini. and max. lot size is not maintained in the system and create 5 Planned Order of 100 Kg each.
I know, how it can be done by using lot size in material master or by maintaining schedule lines in MD61 or by maintaining quota. But if nothing is maintained is it possible for the system to create 5 Planned orders as per the production version batch size.
Pl. check if this is possible and revert back.
    Regards,
    Prashant

    Hi
No, system will not consider the size that maintained in the production version  for the creation of planned order while the mrp run .
This lost size is used to validate the bom/ routing combiation for the particular  pv of the material

  • Selecting prod.version before MRP run

    hi all;
can any body know about-how  the production version selecting before MRP run?
for example: I have a material.it has 2 production version. when I run the MRP, MRP reads first production version(prd vers-1). but I want to select other production version(prd vers-2). how can I make this selection?
    Regards,
    Sema

    Hi,
If you want to select the perticular alternative BOM define it in production version.
Theree is option by which the PV is manually assiged
    Goto MD62
    Execute the report
    Goto Schedule line tab page
    Fallow the menu path
    Setting Production version
    Enter the Production version required
    Save
So system will select the perticular alternative BOm which maintain in that production version.

  • Exit or badi for prod version

    Hi,
My scenario is a make to order scenario. as and when we try to create sales order , production order gets created.
I am using BAPI to create sales order including variant config with success in bebug mode.
reason is i am passing the prd vesion ID(this value stores in prd order assignments section) in ordpar-verid in debug mode in include program
    sapfv45e
    fv45efma
    fv45efma_beschaffung_anlegen
    when eigen.
    perform beschaffung_fuellen using us_dialog
    da_dtatus
    space.
Here the ordpar are appending, so i included the version id here and able to create both SO and PO successfully.
if i run the program the BAPI will through error as CFG_IS_INCONSISTENT_OR_INCOMPLETE,, even though it is not related msg.
So, my issue now is i want to activate the appropriate user exit to pass the version id to ordpar sothat system will know which version to takke care of. (include sapfv45e)
does anyone used this kind of user exit? if so can anyone share the name with me
Hope i am clear with my doubt..

    check these exits .

  • Nested Queries in SQL Utility/Prod versions

Can you tell which XML product versions are in production....
we are implementing a custom XML solution for a B2B client, and are using
the 8i and the tools from oracle with quite a bit of custom code...
I have a couple of questions.
    1. as suggested , i was able to get the oraclexmlsql.jar from the servlet zip and loading
it solved the problem of the jdbc string being printed int he cursor
syntax . it works from the xmlgen utility withing pl/sql. but when using OracleXML in a java prog the
results still printout the jdbc string..
    any ideas...
    2. Is there anyway to supress the rownum attribute tag in the subquery (cursor) results...that is the setRowIdAttrName .... w/o using xslt
    3. We are implementing a solution using these tools.... we wanted to know which were the production versions.

XDK Components for XML and XSLT are production.
XML SQL Utility and XSQL Servlet are still Technical
