You may try using the Lumia System Updater app to check and update system applications on your phone. Regarding other third party applications, you can check manually or wait until the Store application receives notifications.

Lumia 1020 Black update in Sweden?

Does anyone know when the Lumia Black update is scheduled for release in Sweden?
To what I can read it shoulkd have been released but that the device needs get the go ahead from the serviceprovioder (phonecompany, in my case 3 Sweden).

The only thing that has been released so far is Microsoft's portion of the forthcoming "big" update, formerly known as GDR3, now simply known as "Update 3". But even that is only available as a developer preview that can be installed on developer unlocked phones.
It is, however, Nokia's "Lumia Black" part of the update that is going to provide DNG support, not Microsoft's "Update 3".

Update queries (Lumia 620 Black Update)

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone on here knew how long it should take between the update geting to the carrier and them pasiing on the update to the consumers?
I ask because mysef and others are STILL without the Update 3/Black update for the 620 ( in the UK), and are increasingly becoming annoyed (putting it lightly - don't want to get banned from the forum already) at this fact, especially since we know it is the carriers fault (I won't name and shame the carrier since it's in the link!)

The link above shows the interactions that have been made between those of us waiting for the update, and those at my carrier. In short, on the 2nd April, the foum dudes passed it on to those who deal with the updates. 8 days later (10th April, 3 weeks ago), the next reply was that they were in the latter stages of testing, and should be out "within the next few weeks". There have been NO updates since, hint the fact we are getting increasingly annoyed.
Surely, the fact they claim they were in the latter stages of testing 3 weeks ago mean we should have the update by now, especially since all other 620's in the UK had the update in March.

Rest assured, the Lumia Black release for Lumia 720 in NZ is not forgotten. It will follow the release timing for Lumia 720 Country variant in Australia. We've asked for the NZ Lumia Black availability table to be updated.
The update should be available to you, barring any unforeseen technical issues, by the end of next week.

Issue with Lumia 620 Black update

Hi everyone. Recently I've updated my L620 to Black and the ROM is EU-Spain. When I turn the " Double tap" on for unlocking the screen and put my phone into any of my pockets, the phone strongly hangs and there will be no way to unlock the screen except replacing battery. I think this is a bug and my phone can not recognize the hits in my pockets as temporary hits. I don't want to disable " double tap" but by this problem I cant work with my phone safety.help pls. thanks

Just to clarify, did the issue happen immediately after the Lumia Black update? If yes, try to verify if the update is successfully installed on your phone. Check if 'Lumia Black' shows up under Settings > Extras + Info. Try also to check if all system apps are updated by scanning the QR app codes shown at this link, especially the one for 'Touch': Nokia Windows Phone 8 App updates After that, check if the phone's 'Double tap to wake' feature and the overall performance of the touch screen will improve.

Lumia 920 - Black update problems, slow app respon...

I have had a lumia for well over a year in the UK, I updated to the black update a week ago, and the phone became completely unresponsive, similar to theDej's problem here: http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-Lumia/Phone-inoperative-after-lumia-black-update/m-p/2372351/h...
However, I contacted the carrier (EE) and they replaced the handset. I set up the replacement handset, which then prompted for the update, and I took the plunge and applied it again.
Now, although the handset mostly works, some apps have stopped functioning, and most importantly the WiFi settings and Bluetooth settings pages often become completely unresponsive, drop their connections, and dont show any available connections, so I cant reconnect to WiFi or bluetooth without restarting the phone. Also on some occasions, turning off the phone shows the "goodbye" screen, but either doesn't turn off and returns to the home screen or it magically restarts without me pressing the power button.
Has anyone come across any issues like this, is there anything I can do?

Please, try the Nokia Software Recovery Tool and report your results. We have a lot of Bluetooth/Wi-Fi issues reports since Lumia Black – no problem here. However, we have so many, sounds like several different issues.

Lumia 620 black update

I have conected my lumia 620 with wifi and black update is also released for my phone but it can not be downloaded there is written downloading 0% and not going up why ???
i am trying from one week but i could not download the update...

Lumia 620 Black Update, availability in Africa!

I have the Lumia 620. I have been waiting for the Black update since the rollout started. I have the phone that is the only one amongst all the other phones, based on the network provider I am using, that is still waiting for availability. My phone has been acting up, I am beginning to see problems arise. I mentioned this to one of Nokia's employees and I was told it could be due to I do not have the update. Therefore problem can't be within my fault per se. This is just one of many emails. Any communication would be appreciated.

Lumia 1020; app update error 80073cf6 after cyan ...

I updated my Lumia 1020 to the Nokia Cyan firmware today. Most of the app updates went fine but now some updates from the store are stuck with the error code 80073cf6.
I tried restarting the phone but that does not help. Any ideas?

The "error code 80073cf6" in Windows 8 on PC's suggest trouble in the store cache on the device, and there are procedures to reset and clear this on a PC - but this is only possible on Windows Phone by performing a factory reset.
I hesitate to advice a factory reset of the phone since it is a lot of work, and may not solve the problem! Also, since this is trouble between the Store and the phone, it may be solved in an update of the phone or the store later.
I would sit tight for a while (days or weeks ...) unless the apps are important here and now, and keep an eye on new updates to the phone, and retry the download once in a while, but it's your decision whether to try a factory reset.
Microsoft have information of devices failing to download apps from the store, and if your specific trouble affect enough people, changes are likely to be made (days or weeks ...)

Lumia 625 black update

I got update for my Lumia 625 ,I installed it and after been finished I can't find any difference and I opened the extras&info sill showing amber software how can I know that the black update is on my device know although its fully installed and the phone restarted and told me update is full

It's not obvious that your phone has been upgraded.
Go to settings > Extras + Info.
It'll tell you the software release version

Another BUT..... The Nokia Glance screen is not availble for the Nokia Lumia 625.
One wonders why Nokia doesn't tell you this, you have to search for stuff on their website and only at the bottom does it tell you that the Glance software isn't available - VERY Unimpressed.

Lumia 925 Black Update

After Black update of my Lumia 925 Glance screen does not always display the Time , though it is always on. Try to fix this bug. Soft reset couldn't solve the problem.

Have you updated all your system apps following the update? If not, download and install an app called Lumia System Updater and use it to update all the system apps. See if that helps.

Lumia 925 black-update phone stuck

I installed the black-update yesterday on my 925, in the beginnings no problems, but this morning when I tried to unlock my phone I typed my password but then the phone got stuck in the lock screen. After 3 minutes it automatically locked itself but now it is not unlocking anymore.
The strange thing is that my Glance is still working if I move my hand over the phone (peek). But I cannot unlock it via de unlock button (nothing is happening), I have double tap to wake switched off, and my cam app is ProCam so no chance of unlocking it via that as well. I also tried to call the phone but it is not receiving the call..
Also putting it on the charger or connection it to the computer doesn't help, screen stays black. My question is is this a software problem or is it just a coincidence and my unlock button broke during the night.. but this would't explain the not receiving calls part and also not that it is not 'unlocking' on charger or computer.
What you advice me to do now? And I don't wanna hard reset my phone...

I think you need to do a soft reset, many peoplr have reported issues with Glance screen pre and post Black update. Press and hold the Vol.down and power/screen lock keys together for few seconds till you see the 'Nokia' on the screen. You won't lose any data by doing this. I revived my L925 when I experienced same issue months back. Good luck.

Aio/Cricket Lumia 620 Black Update

Hello. I asked this question to AIO already and they of course don't have a clue. There are some nice enhancements in black and a few apps that I would like to run that require the update.
Is this update now not going to happen? Before the black update status page showed the AIO 620 update as "Waiting for Approval" Now it states "Not avaialable"! What's the deal here? Should I have not bought this phone? Does this mean the Cyan update is not going to happen for AIO 620 either?
Is there anyone that can shed some light on this?

Thanks for the info I have not heard of that tool. As for latest version I know it is not as the Extras+info on my phone reports as the Amber Update. The page I referenced states the black update is now Not Available for my AIO 620. Hopefully that changes because I would hate to think the update that was promised is never going to materialize.
I hate to use a comparison here with another phone manufacturer but ideally it would be far better if it worked like Apples iOS updates. They are released by Apple and do not need to wait for the carrier to release it independent.
Maybe with Microsoft now controlling the hardware and the software they could implement something like this. Otherwise all phone models are running different versions of windows 8 and while not as fractured as Android it does fracture the user base.

Lumia 920, Black update, and Internet sharing not ...

I have a pair of Lumia 920s, both the developer edition given out at Microsoft Build 2012. Both updated to Lumia Black/gddr3 yesterday without any issues, both running on AT&T.
however, on one of them, the Internet Sharing no longer works, while on the other, it still works fine. I have swapped sim cards, and the problem stays with the one specific phone, and is not tied to the line.
I have reset and wiped the phone, and tried to reconfigure it (including reinstalling the spanish/mexico keyboard, which has solved this problem in the past).
I have checked access point configuration, and both match. Both are running on LTE. I'm at a loss how to get it working again, as I've been through everything that I know of to make it work.
Any thoughts?

I have the same problem only on mobile. Keeps asking to upgrade. Its like the phone doesn't know I have this service. Or the tmo,servers do not know that my account has paid for this. Funny part is,the customer services people say they can see I,have this feature on my acct. Pls jeep me,posted if you get a fix for this

Lumia 925 Black update minor problem

Just wanted to send feedback about my update experience.
- I have Lumia 925
- I have developer account and related MS updates already installed
- When installing Lumia Black, installation started normally
- During first reboot my phone got stuck at "goodbye"
- I did soft reset (screen + volume down buttons)
- Phone continued updating normally

Have you updated all your system apps following the update? If not, download and install an app called Lumia System Updater and use it to update all the system apps. See if that helps.
