Lumia 1020 focus assist light wont turn off

lumia 1020 focus assist light wont turn off. i've done a hard reset and a soft reset. ive also drained the battery but the little round light continues to be turned on .
i checked and it looks like ive still got warranty from nokia. will they still honour the warranty if ive updates the software?

I have the same problem, I tested everything, hard reset, soft reset, using recovery tool to back to Cyan version, still the light is ON.. what is tyhe problem, it is ridicolous that Microsoft/ Nokia do not give an answer to this problem as many users have the same problem........

Focus assist light wont turn off

This is the second time this has happene d and I am really frustrated. I placed my new Nokia 1020 in an arm carrier while at the gym and at the end of the workout, the focus assist light was on and I could not turn it off. The pressure of the spandex sleeve must have cuased some buttons to be pressed in some odd series or something.
To solve the problem I performed a soft reset, a hard reset, let the battery completely run out, and the light was still on. I finally gave up and returned it to the store for a replacement. I got a new phone and had the same problem occur today. So it is my fault for making the same mistake twice, but I had a Nokia 920 for two years and placed in the same carrier hundreds of times with no problem.
Does anyone know how i can resolve this? I really love my Nokia phone, but am going to abandon the platform if this does not get resolved easily. My wireless carrier is a nightmare to deal with on issues like this. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Same happened to my sons Lumia. The light was on for 6 months until he finally smashed it up at a party (accidentally). And the problem was due to moisture. Happened when he was camping.

Apple wireless keyboard caps lock light wont turn off

I have an apple wireless keyboard that came with my 2011 imac and up untill last month the caps lock light wont turn off even when i turn caps lock off and its draining my battery. usually the keyboard will turn off whenever the computer was off but now i have to turn the whole keyboard off everytime im not using it to save battery.

It is probably faulty. If you are close to one, I suggest you take it to an Apple store for diagnosis.

Hi I tried that but eventually contacted customer support who went through many resets and eventually restoring factory settings - light still wouldn't turn off so I have been to the Apple store who replaced the handset! Although, they did go through the whole procedure again even though I had a case number saying the phne was to be replaced. Thanks for the reply.

Red light wont turn off

I just got a BB 8900 and everytime I recieve a message the led light blinks but when I check the message it goes solid and then wont shut off. I can still function the phone but I really wont that light to go off because its annoying...any suggestions?

Camera light wont turn off on macbook

I turned my laptop on this morning and the glowing green light next to the built in camera was on. There are no applications or websites that use a camera open. I restarted it but the light is still on. How do I turn it off and why might it be on?

Click your Apple  top left in your screen.
From the drop down menu click Shut Down. (Do not click Restart)
Wait about ten seconds then startup your Mac as you normally would be pressing the power button.
Then see if the camera light is still on.

This happened to my lumia which is 1 day old. I returned it to the seller and I got another but I am afraid this will happen again.
The first unit I got was working fine then this happened and I was really **bleep** off for a premium phone having this flash problem.

i have this phone since 5 months and i have the same problem with the led since some days. I'm very sure that my phone didn't get wet. i don't work for a month to buy a phone just to let it get wet and I'm very careful with my things. i also read about rain ? what about it ? if it rains and u get a call , maybe from your old mother, u won't get the call ? the phone doesn't get so wet by just that. AND now its summer. In greece it has to rain since april. But maybe "rain" means that outside is raining and i dump the phone on the table like it was a fish ? come on lets get serious. Does nokia support their customers or not ? i sent my phone to fix it and they told me to pay 220 euro. hahaha... nice. I believe you can turn off this light by following the steps below:
1. From the home screen click Options > Screen/Keyboard options and look for LED Coverage Indicator. Make sure it is set to "Off"

Lumia 710 standby screen wont turn off

The standby screen of my nokia lumia 710 wont turn off. I powers off when i hit the standby button but when i recieve a new email/whatsapp the screen stays on for hours resulting in a battery life of max a half day. It started a week ago an I did a hard resut in order to solve the problem but it didn't help.
What can be a good solution?

Ipod shuffle 2nd gen wont turn off

my ipod shuffle wont turn off! it is 2nd gen i think it is silver with clip on on the back. when i pause it it will pause but when i turn switch to off green light still flashing and will still play if press play button any ideas? or do i buy another one . it is about 9 months old.

thanks for your reply. in the end i took it to an apple service centre and coz it only 8months old got it replaced for free in two days, seeing as im in darwin i was quite impressed!!. i agree it is made cheap but i use it for the gym and no other portable music player is equipped with the clip on the back which is the most simple design feature and no-one is catching on. have seen the new one , which looks brilliant, if my replacement craps itself after its 1 year warranty then i will just get the new one. thanks again for the reply.

Gt60 ond NB wont turn off

my NB gt60 OND wont turn off normally.... after the windows shutdown the screen goes black and the LED light of the keyboard is on with the light on the power button after that i need to force it... at first i thought it was the bios so i flash it to w8_E16F3IMS.70X (the NB came with w8_E16F3IMS.50X) but the problem is the same .... then i suspected it was the windows so i install the factory window but it continue.... so then i format all the disk and still have the problem.....
please anyone has a solution for my problem or i just keep forcing it to shutdown? but i think it is bad for the NB..

So I am back after testing all memory stick individually with MemTest86 v4.3.3 ( Dos version ) . All are fine according to the test.
After successfully installing Win7 x64 in Legacy mode, I was able to shut down the laptop but with a 15 seconds delay with a frozen ''Shutting down'' display in the Win7 background. ( spinning wheel was frozen ).
However, I did try the full sleep mode but wasnt able to get it out. It looks like its behaving just as the Win8 installation ( both EUFI and Lecacy ). Freezing on the Amber light. Its not that I can get out. Its not fully entering the sleep mode. I would presume that in hibernating mode the light would blink slowly showing the OS is powered down but laptop still receiving power. I need to hold the power to shut it down manually.
So we are back to square 1. Imo, the issue is from the motherboard but its not necessarly defective. Might need a BIOS upgrade. One Thing I've noticed ...was that if the windows installation has the keyboard light software installed, the keyboard stays on when the laptop if frozen trying to shutdown ( blackscreen ). As Luigi said , I can Activate and desactivate the GPU Fan and turbo ( like Luigi ) when in that state.

New BT keyboard wont turn off

I may be being a bit stupid here but my keyboard wont turn off. i press the power button on the side but when i press a key it works. i noticed the battery level got very low even though ive only used it for a few days.
any help would be most appreciated, as i dont want to have to take the batteries out everytime,

This is normal. To turn the keyboard off, you press and hold the power button for several seconds (about 4-5 seconds). When powering the keyboard back on, the green light will turn on for a few seconds and then will go off (not sure why the light goes off...to conserve battery?). Even though the light is off, the keyboard is actually still on. According to the documentation, the keyboard will go into a standby mode when not in use. It will "wake up" when a key is pressed. However, as mentioned above, to physically turn the keyboard off, you press and hold the power button.
