Lumia 1020 with Cyan, disconnecting from Audi Blue...

My UK Lumia 1020 worked fine with my Audi RS4 (with 2010+ RNS-E update), until I upgraded it to Cyan - now it disconnects and reconnects about every 60-90 seconds. I've tried re-pairing the phone, even tried a reflash back to factory settings (with Nokia Software Recovery Tool) and it's still doing it.
I had an old HTC 8x that did the same on the previous navigation system I had in the car (a 2007 RNS-E) and that happened when a software update was pushed out - I had the device replaced and held off applying the update, and it stayed working.
My wife has a 1020 which has exactly the same OS software and firmware version number, and it works just fine in the same car.
Any ideas or other things I could try? It's driving me nuts...

Hi @ewand ,
There must be an option to make the Audi completely forget the phone, as well as removing the car from the list of known bluetooth devices on the phone, then start the pairing again. It is unclear from your previous post if this has been tried already? (Re-pairing can be interpreted in different ways).
I am puzzled why it would work on one phone and not the other similar phone.

  • Is it possible to sync Lumia 1020 with Windows Con...

I was considering a Lumia 1020 (or perhaps an upcoming version with same camera capability), but something seems to be wrong there.
For now I am still using a Nokia N8 together with Nokia Suite. I can sync my Windows Contacts *including the contact image for each contact* (where available). Also, when I am on my desk, I send and read received SMS messages exclussively on PC, phone connected via bluetooth. No cable, no cloud involved, I even don't have to touch or look at phone itself.
Some time ago, during one of the Nokia Suite upgrades, I remember it said something like „added compatibility with Lumia phones”. However, these days I read that Lumia is only compatible with Zune, which AFAIK is merely a multimedia sync platform.
I don't want to upload my contacts in cloud (any cloud, regardless the owner).
I don't want to install Outlook. I seem to remember that the Outlook version I already have cannot use the xml Windows Contacts, but only the older Address book or something. As for contact pictures, no way.
So, question: assuming I own a Lumia 1020, can I use Nokia Suite the same I was used to ?
If not, Zune is able to handle the Windows Contacts in same way ?
What about sending and reading received SMS messages using the PC ?

That I begin to understand. I don't care much about what brand, but for my work I do care about a very good phone camera with xenon flash and a good associated PC application where I can copy and paste strings to and from SMS messages (among other things). So it seems I have to look elsewhere.
Too bad. Nokia 808 was a perfect thing for this purpose, but unfortunately it was never marketed in my geographical location. Now things only gets worse.

Wrong. I tested direct contacts sync between a Samsung Galaxy tablet with my PC using their dedicated application, Kies. The contacts imported well into the tablet, *including contact pictures*, which is what I am looking for. I didn't checked the messaging since the tablet was not a phone, but I suspect that it also works. Unfortunately the actual photos taken with Samsung phone cameras that are equipped also with xenon flash are of lower quality than those taken with Nokia 808 or Lumia 1020.

If you feel this way you should actually not be on the internet anyway.
No really. I'm on internet since 1995 when only meteorological clouds were in existence and I didin't encounter any problem browsing the internet then because of that. In 2004 the software that accompanied my Motorola E398 was able to do both address book sync and handle SMS messages just pure and simple, via cable or BT. Then my Nokia N73 and later Nokia N8 were able to do same things through Ovi/Nokia Suite, still directly, including contact pictures sync if on Windows Vista or later.
Today (2015 already) I've been told that things have evolved, so I can no longer exchange some trivial information between two devices located near to each other, but instead I have to use thousands of miles distances, to have an account somewhere, to be logged in, etc., only to transfer something between myself and myself, actually the same something as yesterday.
Frankly I'm glad to hear that this internet is not for me.
Without wanting this specifically (on the contrary), it appears that I am forced to consider also this company not (or no longer) compatible with me.

  • IPhone 6 constantly disconnecting from Audi MMI

My iPhone 6 constantly (and, it appears, randomly) disconnects from the MMI system in my 2013 A6. I updated the cable to the latest version (genuine Audi) to see if this solved the issue but it continues to do so. I didn't have the problem with my iPhone 5 which I never bothered to upgrade to iOS 8, so I suspect it's an iOS 8 problem. I've tried multiple ways of connecting, phone off, connect, then switch on. Phone on, connect, MMI on etc. etc. to no avail. My current suspicion is it may be a charging issue as my phone was 100% charged this morning when I plugged it in, and everything worked fine but when I plugged in this evening (circa 45% charged) the constant disconnecting occurred again. It will connect, play a few seconds/minutes of a track, disconnect and then the process repeats.

I have the same problem with my 2014 Audi A5/iPhone 6 with the 4F0051510AD lightning cable. This cable has now been replaced with a new 4F0051510AL lightning cable which my Audi dealer has ordered so I will see if this fixes the problem. Apparently this new AL cable also transfers Album Art and Video unlike the AD cable. I don't think it is an Apple iOS issue as my iPhone 5 and iPod Touch 5th Gen don't disconnect and they all have 8.1.1 installed, so seems more like a hardware issue.
I currently have the 4F0051510R 30 Pin cable with the lightning adapter and it works fine with the iPhone 6 and transfers Album Art but not video due to the adapter not supporting video transfer.
I didn't realise the 4F0051510AD lightning cable stayed connected if the phone was charged but I have just tested this and it does seem to be the case, still not ideal though!

  • Connect Lumia 1020 with Sony wireless headphone

Is there any way I can connect my Sony MDR 1RBT wireless head phone with my Lumia 1020 using wireless blue tooth?
I was very happy with my Lumia 800 which connected perfectly with my Sony head phone wirelessly.
However, my newly bought Lumia 1020 does not connect.
It does not recognize the blue tooth "profiles".
    Someone please help me!
Is there any way to update my Lumia 1020 software, tweak it or mod it, so it will connect with my Sony head phone?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

They've both got A2DP so should work. Try resetting the headset and repair.

  • Nokia Lumia 1020 with three hot pixels on the CCD....

Okay, i have a two weeks old brand new Lumia 1020 and noticed that whenever i took a photo or record a video, i get an L-shape of three hot/bright pixels somewhere in the middle of the photos or videos themselves, which could mean these hot pixels are burned on the camera's CCD directly. I can also see them live on the Lumia's screen, though if i zoom in on the live view passed a certain level towards the maximum zoom, they vanish. But, on most zoom levels and of course when no zoom is used, i can see them clearly, unfortunately...
The attached image shows these three L-positioned bright pixels...
Also, check the video below for better understanding; i'm just shooting the black plastic frames in-between my two monitors, to get a dark area for easily spotting the three bright pixels. When i zoom in and out, you can see that passed a certain zoom point, they dissapear and reappear. Also, when i move the camera around, they follow along the movement. The video is a cropped-down version of the 1:1 1920x1080 original version, just to get a smaller file size: https://www.dropbox.com/s/g9zfcy3vivb1nku/HotPixels.mov
    So, i'm wondering...
Is this serious hardware mulfanction problem valid for a phone replacement, or this is something that warranty may not cover ?!
    Thanks...
    Greg

It's hardly deep hacking. The repair facility opens the phone, takes out the camera module and puts a new one in.
Your warranty does not entitle you to a full replacement unless the phone is not repairable (in genral) and this should be a painless and easy fix.
While in some countries you would be entitled to a new phone if a fault is detected shortly after buying the device you said you bought it a week ago which would generally be too much time gone by for that so I anm pretty sure it's a repair.

  • Lumia 1020 with bluetooth HF BH310 low volume

Hello. I have a problem. I onw lumia 1020 and bh310 handsfree and with BH310 call volume is too low. I was using it with my previous phone and louness was perfectly fine, but with lumia I have set volume 10/10 but in a car I can`t hear anyrhing. Also volume without hf is too low for me. I was searching nokia support because I want to send a report, but this discussions forum is only thing i found. Does anyone know a solution, or where can I report this?

    Hi paserack,
Do you have a friend that owns the same device? Can you try to use your Nokia BH-310 to that device and see if you'll have the same results? This is for us to identify if the problem is with the phone or with your Bluetooth headset. You can also try to clear the paired devices of your headset by following these steps:
    1. To switch the headset off, press and hold for 5 seconds.
    2. Press and hold for 9 seconds. The headset beeps twice, and the red and green indicator lights alternate.
    3. When the headset switches on, pairing mode is switched on automatically.
After that, try to reboot your phone and then pair the two devices. See if it will make nay difference.

  • Brightness Slider for Lumia 520 with cyan?

I officially updated my Lumia 520 to cyan and was searching for Brightness & Tint slider. Where is the Brightness & Tint slider under display setting? Has it been properly updated or I missed out something? I saw this feature in Lumia 630 which was running cyan update.

Thank you for your reply, as you mentioned  I checked under Settings > Display and I got 3 option under it, Sunlight readability, Battery saver brightness, and Colour profile, under Colour profile > Colour temperature & Colour saturation Sliders. My all system apps are up to date including display app, but I am not getting Brightness profile and tint option under it. Is the brightness profile option available to Lumia 520? If yes then why my lumia 520 doesn't show it? I have attached my Lumia 520 display setting screenshots, just have a look.
    Thank you!

  • Recovering photos from lumia 1020 with a mac

    Hi,
I have tried many applications to recovery my deleted photos, however, when I need to select the drive nokia's mobile never appears in finder. So, I can't select the right place to scan the images.

You can not recover deleted pictures.

  • IPod touch with ios7 disconnects from car stereo speakers

After upgrading my 2012 iTouch to ios7 It no longer automatically connects to my car stereo speakers when the car is restarted.  Rather it begins playing out of is own speakers.  I need to remove and then re insert the connector.
This was not a problem with ios6 nor Arlie devices.  I is an obvious ios7 bug.
    I would appreciate any suggestions

Sometimes this works. Otherwise you will have to wait for an updte to the car system or the iOS on the iPod
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset the car system
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
      - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • Lumia 1020 India LTE Support in USA

I bought a Lumia 1020 2 months ago from India
I have to go to US next month.
My question is, will this handset support LTE/4G network(if I put a LTE supported sim in my phone) there or I have to buy another Lumia phone to get the support.
I bought the phone as the nokia priority guys told Nokia 1020 is international standardized phone, so every thing will be supported including service around globe.

No, the best (which is still pretty fast) will be HSPA+
The phone you buy in India is the Global variant. I the US however carriers all use LTE bands specific to them and due to the way they control the devices on their network only phones bought through them will be allowed on or can work with their bands. Blame them for this pls and Nokia can't do anything about it (and neither can any other manufacturer).

  • WP 8.1 Nokia Lumia 1020 Freeze

My Lumia 1020 with WP 81. is freezing at least once a month. Each time this has happened is during night when the phone is connected to the charger. But if it is the time (night), or the charger, or the combination, causing the trouble I do not know. It may be pure random. I have to press Vol. down & On button for 10 seconds to make the phone live again. My network provider is OneCall (Norway).
There is also a bug in the Alarm App. I have set an alarm to reoccur once a week. This works fine the first time, but the following weeks the alarm is silent. I have to turn the phone off/on to make the alarm work again, or turn the particular alarm off/on. But this is not how an reoccuring alarm should work.
In combination with the randomly freezing phone during nights, I cannot trust the phone as an alarm clock.

Hi, Rasmus_R. Let's try to resolve that. You're currently using the Lumia Cyan on your phone, right? Did you download any apps prior to this? How long do you usually charge it? Are you using the charger that came in the sales package? You may also check which apps are running background tasks and block the ones you do not need. This can be done by going to Settings > battery saver and swipe to usage > show apps that can run in the background. For your next concern about the Alarm app, check if there's an update available from the Settings > swipe left, applications > store > check for updates. Rebooting your phone just to refresh its system may also help.
    Keep us posted.

  • Lumia 1020 (Nokia Play To) incompatible to play MP...

I had a Nokia N8 phone. With this phone and Nokia DLNA App I could send MP4 videos to my Philips Series 6000 TV with no issues.
I´ve bought a Lumia 1020 with WP8 and installed Nokia Play To. I´ve tried to send the same videos I used to, to the same TV and it says that the format is incompatible and cannot be played.
Tried with some JPG pictures and those were played correctly.
What´s the problem with the app? Why DLNA Nokia N8 could send MP4 files to the TV and Lumia 1020 can´t?
The TV has native support for MP4 files. I can play them by USB also or sending them by DLNA from a PC.

I know that. But, I am talking about the same videos that I used to play on the same TV by DLNA like charm,  and now I can't.
Including videos that were filmed by me with my own Nokia N8.
A lot of people is complaining about this on the forums. Check on BetaLabs (https://betalabs.nokia.com/trials/play-to-for-wp8/Bugreport/Dont-stream-a-video-to-philips-TV)
Is the same issue that I am having now.
The same Play To application for Symbian Belle refresh works perfect. Something is wrong if I can't play the videos that I filmed on my phone!!!
Also I've found out that some videos appear on Nokia Play To, but not on the Music and Video app collection. (videos filmed by me on Nokia N8)

  • How much Ram do we have in Lumia 1020?

I am a big Fan of Nokia and it's honest .I just found out something kind of wierd on my lumia 1020 with other ppl also wondering about same issue. We are meant to believe that our lumia 1020 comes with 2gb Ram that is accesible by the entire Os but how is it that when i use app like INSIDER to check system Info i only get 1gb as installed Ram and not 2Gb. Please am really hoping someone with the techincal knowhow can really explain to me how this 2gb Ram on the phone is implemented and why it's not available to the entire OS cause to me its seems like Nokia intentionally failed to mention that 1gb of the ram is hard wired to the camera module if what i have read on some forum is true which would techinally make this phone a 1gb ram phone and not 2gb as Nokia claims it is . So am really hoping someone with the techincal know how can help explain this better to me cause i really wanna believe nokia didnt intentional mislead me into believing i have a 2gb ram available to the entire phone. Reply would be highly Appreciated . thanks

I'll take the Nokia specs or official announcements over some 3rd party app. It's well possible the app just assumes there's not more than 2GB in any Windows Phone..
Maybe ask the app developer. If you want Nokia to answer you you're in the wrong place as this is a user to user support platform, try your direct contact uptions as seen HERE
