Lumia 1520 32GB - One Drive Issue

Just got this phone as a replacement for my 920 and, for some reason, media stored on OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) will not play (Error Messge: We cannot play this file on your phone) until I log out of OneDrive and log back in. It will work after logging back in for a period of time and then will stop, requiring me to do the log off/ log on process again. I have reset the phone with no improvement in this issue. Never had a problem on my old 920.
Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, any workarounds?

Welcome to the forum! 
Do you only get the error with a particular media file, or with all playable files saved on OneDrive? Are you using a downloaded OneDrive app, or the one integrated with the phone's software? When you say reset, are you referring to the one under Settings > About? Do you have a stable WiFi or mobile data connection when playing the media files? Playing Onedrive files require a good internet connection.
If you're using a downloaded app, try removing and reinstalling the app from the Store. If it's happening with a particular file only, try to remove and re-upload that file to Onedrive. Download it first to a PC to back up the original file.
Make sure that the phone's software and system apps are updated as well. Check it under Settings > Phone update. Try scanning the app codes shown at this link: Nokia Windows Phone 8 App Updates.
Let us know if this information has helped resolved the issue.

  • Lumia 1520 Camera and SD Issues

    I love my Lumia 1520. I'm a heavy user of camera and video. Since the upgrade to 8.1 I have had persistent issues. I have reflashed my device twice and the problems remain. 
    1. The Nokia Camera app intermittently takes 2 - 4 mins to load. It says "loading" and does some processing. Sometimes it opens, sometimes it doesn't. 
    2. After the above behavior, Saving the photo takes 60 seconds or more. If I navigate away while the photo is being "saved" the photo is lost.
    3. My original SD card, purchased with the phone at the AT&T store, is saying "Scan SD card and fix errors". Saying Yes to this seems to do nothing.
    The above behavior is intermittent. For example just now while writing this, I tried the Microsoft Phone camera app and was able to take pictures successfully and without issue. I switched back to the Nokia Camera App, which I prefer, and the app functioned normally.
    Yesterday I missed several important shots because the Nokia Camera App wouldn't load quickly (less than 30 seconds in this case) and the moment was long over when the camera was functional.

    To troubleshoot this, purchase another SD memory card, a reputable brand from a reputable store. 32GB Kingston Class 10 SDHC cards have worked reliably for me through 3 years and on 4 different Nokia phones, others have other favorites.
    Backup everything, to the cloud and/or via USB to a PC.
    Menu -> Settings -> storage sense -> SD card -> remove, shut down the phone, remove the old SD card, insert the new SD card straight from the packaging into the phone, start up the phone. The new card must be recognized and ready for use in the phone right away, without error messages or scan for errors notices, otherwise go directly to the second step.
    1: If the new SD card works without issues then the original SD card is defective.
    2: If the intermittent errors persist then the phone need repair or replacement.
    A competent store should acknowledge the warranty claim on either the SD card or the phone after this.

  • Lumia 1520.3 Front Camera Issue

    As Lumia Denim update is expected on the last quarter of the year, will it fix the front camera issue of the Lumia 1520?
    My phone is originally running on Lumia Black and the phone is working perfectly until i installed the dev prev. Regardless of what camera app, once front camera is called, app automatically close. Done soft reset, hard reset and Nokia Recovery Tool but to no avail, front camera is still useless.
    Hope the next iteration of the software will fix this problem.

    hi mate, sorry to hear of your problems. have u tried installing Lumia Cyan as this may fix your issues (i.e. has the correct optimisations and driver updates for your Nokia). i know it is a pain to hard reset and update manually to Lumia Cyan, but it may be the only option before taking your phone to Nokia Care for inspection

  • Lumia 925 ATT Here Drive+ issue after Cyan

    I've noticed that on my 925 Here Drive+ doesn't recognize addresses that it previously did. It can find the address just fine from Here Maps, and will give turn by turn directions when you start navigation from there, but not when you use the people hub to quickly navigate to an address from a contact. Pops up a dialog that says no address was found.
    I've done a soft reset etc, did a full erase and update, not from a backup, everything from scratch.
    I would appreciate any advice you might have, one if my most used features.

    Same problem here.
    Had the Lumia 925 for nearly a year - without any problems ever.
    Since the Cyan update the phone often freezes, which it never did before. The only way to bring it back to life is the Power+VolumeDown button combination.
    On the first few freezing occasions the glance screen was showing and stuck, and it was charging via USB.
    I have reset the phone (from Settings -> Phone), and turned the glance screen to "Peek", which appears to have reduced the occurrences of freezing, but it still happens.
    From my observation freezing is more likely during charging, but that may have been a coincidence. It has also occurred while not charging.
    3G, Data connection, and location were on in all cases of freezing, WiFi and NFC were off in all cases.
    This is a _very_ serious bug that should get lots of attention immediately! The threads about it fill in several locations, at wpcentral, MSDN, etc. (it apparently affects several Lumia models).
    Are there experiences with using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool? It will apparently reset the Lumia 925 to a pre Cyan state. If I then install the updates, including Cyan, again, will there be a chance of the freezing problem to be gone? Or should I refrain from installing the Cyan update again for the time being if I want the phone to be reliable?

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 Video recording/playback issues.

    I seem to have issues with video recording. Video seems to have some pause "still" effects when taking video and playback in phone shows those stops very clearly as it freezes for while and jumps many seconds forward.
    When I play same file in PC with video player the video plays better but still I can manage to see some small Glitch in video like my phone did stop recoding for some frames.  I have been using SD card and phone memory and both have same problem.

    No solution so far and it is my wife phone so haven't have much reason to play with it find solution. She only takes photos anyway.
    This current phone has already broke down 2 sim cards also or wireless charging did brake those not sure after stop using wireless charging 3rd sim card have been fine.
    someday when have I feeling to take this phone to warranty service I will try wireless charging again.

  • Buttons not working Lumia 1520

    After being on the wireless charger all night my phone had frozen early morning. I did a reset using the on/off and volume buttons. This worked. Then I noticed that all the buttons were unresponsive. Also the wireless charging was not working. I can charge via a USB though. Also the glance screen still works so i can at least use the phone.
    Can anyone help?

    Are you referring to the hard buttons on the right side of the phone, or to the soft keys (back, start, search) below its screen? Aside from charging the phone wirelessly overnight, did something happen to your Lumia 1520 prior to this issue? Make sure that the phone's software is updated. Check it by going to Settings > Phone update. Try also to check if all running background apps are closed to prevent frequent freezing.
    BTW, do you have a wireless charging shell for the phone? The Lumia 1520 needs this shell to enable wireless charging. Lumia 1520s bought in the USA use PMA wireless charging shells, while phones made for other regions use Qi enabled shells. Also, charging the phone until it's full is recommended instead of doing it overnight.

    I got the Cyan udpate to my 1520 a couple of weeks ago., it sovled many bugs and probably raised 1 or 2 new ones but overall its an great update.. you can check for the availbility of 8.1 Cyan at your Geo from Settings., I'm India, and Cyan here is being released for each model in time after time,,.. it took 1 hr+ with 700+mB data for my 1520.

  • My Nokia Lumia 1520 has a plethora of issues

    This is mainly about my Nokia Lumia 1520, but also some other Nokia Lumia phones.
    After I inherited my Nokia Lumia 1520 I had to wait a few weeks before I could install Windows Phone 8.1 (Blue) + Nokia Lumia Cyan on it, after doing so I signed in with my Microsoft-account (as it was of a deceased family member before, and I was using his Microsoft-account, so I had to factory reset it), after resetting it I noticed a plethora of issues that weren't present in Windows Phone 8, no offence to anyone at Microsoft, but Windows Phone 8 had absolutely 0 bugs I ever experienced, no crashes, no oddities, ever since the new operating system was released all my phones as well as my ex-girlfriend's and my girlfriend's phones have been experiencing issues, but none more than my Nokia Lumia 1520, here is a summation of each phone. Note that I am a huge Windows Phone fanboy, so I have purchased several devices for multiple people, and I'll write what they've told me down here too. Note that most are either Nokia Lumia or Microsoft Lumia, but one is by the Cantonese manufacturer, Huawei so I don't know if that will be considered (ir)relevant by the moderators.
    Nokia Lumia 1520:
    * Sometimes the touch-screen randomly doesn't respond (which is really annoying while playing Age of Empires: Castle Siege where I lost the chance to get several British banners due to this error), this recovers sometimes by going stand-by, but this alternates and seems completely random when the screen gets responsive again, and when not.
    * It randomly starts pressing physical buttons, and when I try to press them it's not recognized by the phone, and there is no way to turn my phone off or even put it in stand-by while it's doing this.
    * There is no back-up for settings and app data, it did this before but for some reason it does notify me that I haven't backed up in a while and any attempt to back it up is met with countless of errors, before my phone backs up my data again I don't want to factory reset it because I don't want important data to get lost, so please help me fix this. 
    * It sometimes starts crashing random applications with provocation.
    * Sometimes it won't charge.
    * It crashes randomly while playing videos on Google YouTube and other websites.
    * It can't download Lumia Help + Tips.
    * Sometimes the screen goes all black, and the camera stops to work, but here is the odd part, whenever I click on the back-button and hold it it shows me the ''open'' applications, but they all remain black.
    * Half of the time when I take pictures with it there is a 3 second delay, and most of the time those pictures aren't saved, so I only use it to take screenshots, and maybe 1 in every 10 screenshot is actually saved.
    * It won't show the profile pictures of my Microsoft Skype-contacts.
    * The calendar doesn't work on the lock-screen, and shows me the wrong information all the time.'
    * Cortana randomly starts in the middle of other things.
    * Internet Explorer Mobile randomly crashes and closes the tab I'm on at that moment.
    * Internet Explorer Mobile randomly opens tabs I didn't ask for.
    Nokia Lumia 920:
    * The phone sometimes won't restart after going completely off unless one would hard reset it.
    * There is no back-up for settings and app data, it did this before but for some reason it does notify me that I haven't backed up in a while and any attempt to back it up is met with countless of errors, before my phone backs up my data again I don't want to factory reset it because I don't want important data to get lost, so please help me fix this. (note for my Nokia Lumia 920 this happened after I returned from Hanoi, the issue has been constant on my Nokia Lumia 1520 even while it was in Europe)
    * Microsoft Skype crashes when I want to upload a picture or drawing (unique to this specific phone, it works seamless on all the other devices).
    * Microsoft Cortana often notifies me about news, but can't fetch anything when I click on the message in the Action Centre.
    * It can't download Lumia Help + Tips.
    * On some (Vietnamese) Wi-Fi connections it can't update nor download several applications regardless of size (for example an Angry Birds game called Angry Birds Go! that is nearly 1 G.B. nor an 8 M.B. N.O.R.A.D. Santa Tracker).
    * When there is a flippable protective case around it the cellular network will crash, and can only be restored after rebooting it, before I got S.I.M. errors on it nearly 5 times a day, each time it required me to restart my phone.
    * It permanently shows 2 unread mails in Microsoft Outlook and 8 in Google Mail for no reason, I have 0 mails in Yahoo! Mail but it does tell me that I have ''unread'' ones in several (NON-EXISTING) folders.
    * The Calendar doesn't appear on the lock-screen, and if it does it's either several weeks too late, or shows me messages for months about things that happened last year.
    * Sometimes one ear-plug goes without sound, rather than being a hardware problem it gets fixed by rebooting the phone.
    * Sometimes I can't copy or paste anything.
    * Internet Explorer Mobile often doesn't recognize images I want to save, while somehow it does recognize those same images either the day before and/or the next time.
    Nokia Lumia 520:
    * The phone sometimes won't restart after going completely off unless one would hard reset it.
    * It doesn't recognize the Micro-S.D. card it did before (it worked while on Lumia Cyan).
    * It can't download Lumia Help + Tips.
    * It sometimes won't charge.
    Nokia Lumia 530 Dual S.I.M.:
    * After inserting a Micro-S.D. card it can't download in-app videos (Microsoft Skype) or voice messages (WhatsApp-Messenger) or even links (Facebook Messenger).
    * It can't download Lumia Help + Tips.
    * Sometimes it doesn't recognize the 2nd S.I.M. Card.
    * Like before, the Calendar doesn't function on the lock-screen.
    Microsoft Lumia 353:
    * Touch related issues similar to the Nokia Lumia 1520 as expressed above.
    Huawei Ascend W1:
    * The phone will detect low storage even when there is lots of free space.
    Unrelated to these phones, but still ''Nokia'' hardware is the Nokia charger that comes with Nokia Lumia phones for some reason doesn't work, I mean like ever, and Microsoft forces me to buy new chargers, plus I still use the charger I had on my old H.T.C. Windows Phone for my Nokia Lumia 920. All the above phones have many more issues, but I just simply can't remember them right now.

    Confirm that Date / Time settings are correct.

    Hi , I had issues with my new nokia lumia 1520 and the issues are as follows: 1)Touch and display problem and screen flickering and doesnt let me use any app on the phone and even if im trying to unlock my phone, it inputs its own password and locks the phone again. 2)Apps not functions as if i click one app another app opens 3)Phone hangs 4)Phone gets heated up rapidly with usage of camera 5)Music volume control issue as with full volume, the phone is still not loud enough at times 6)Paint behind the phone is pealing off and Customer care people (Marathalli Nokia Care) took the phone and finally says that my screen guard is causing all these issue. whereas i was using this phone for 1.5 month without issues untill i updated it to latest firmware 1028.3562.1402.0001. please provide your views as to what can be done next as this phone is just 1.5month old and I have spent a lot on this phone?

    Remove the screen guard and take it back to Nokia Care, so they will not have a stupid excuse to refuse repair.

  • Software issues with lumia 1520 since wp8.1 update

    I have Lumia 1520 which I bought in may 2014. Last month I have updated to wp8.1. Initially it was doing fine but since last 10-15 days I have been facing a series of issues with my mobile. I suspect 8.1 update to be the reason as I never faced a glitch
    in my 3months of heavy usage on wp8.
    below are the problems I have faced so far,
    1) screen blacked out suddenly. No response whatsoever. It was working, I can receive calls and notifications but display does not work. Phone was continuously heating mean while. I visited the nearest,care center even they were clueless. Only thing they
    did was to hardreset my phone.
    2) volume automatically becomes 0. I try to change it someone value but the bar goes back to 0. Its like the volume is playing with me.annoying it was.
    3) the touch does not work sometimes. Its sporadic lock and unlock,it works fine.
    4) few minor issues.
    these issues really annoy me. These might be some minor bug fixes please take these up and resolve. I have gone through many forums and writing this. So
    many users facing similar issues. Thanks.

  • Lumia 1520 Battery Discharge Issue After Updating ...

    After updating to Denim, my Nokia Lumia 1520 started to experience the following symptoms:
    Phone charges to 100%, I disconnect and use an app like Instagram BETA, Internet Explorer, Lumia Camera, or any game--after no more than 5 minutes of use, the phone gives a "Critical Low Battery" alert and shuts down. If I try to restart phone immediately, it makes it to the AT&T splash screen or lockscreen and then same battery message appears and shuts down. If I wait 10-15 minutes after the shutdown to restart phone (without recharging) the phone will stay on, but battery level will report to be in the low 20s or 10s (whereas no more than 20 minutes ago, it was 100%).
    When phone is at 100% battery: I take 2-5 photos or record mere seconds of video and I get the same "Critical Low Battery" alert. Upon restarting, some of the photos or video are nonexistent or corrupt files and battery level is reported at 2-5%.
    However, if my phone is plugged in to charger, none of these "Critical Low Battery" alerts come up and I am able to use phone as usual. Considering that I cannot take a vacation and capture nature's beauty with an AC adapter always connected, this is a serious drawback.
    Steps I've Taken:
    Soft-reset
    Full factory-reset
    Moved all apps off microSD card (this improved situation maybe 5%)
    Disabled almost all background app use in Battery Saver
    Replaced microSD card when I thought this was a memory write/read issue
    Installed "Battery" app to monitor battery use. After 750 data points were logged, my average battery life is reported at "16 minutes," which sounds about right.
    My warranty should be expired since I purchased the phone December 2013, so I'm checking in here if anybody has had any luck with battery replacements or with a solution to this issue? At the same time, this issue arose strictly after updating to Denim and I've seen other users report this EXACT scenario. Is there any hope for Lumia 1520 users on this?

  • Pixma ip6000d windows 7 driver issue. How do you get one?

    Has anyone solved the windows 7 driver issue? The canon website does not have one yet is reported windows 7 capatable.

  • Issue with users trying to save reports to thier Documents on one drive.

    I am working
    on a 2013 SharePoint environment and users who use Power View reports.  I
    have a user who can create reports on a site I have set up (no problems
    there).  They can also save reports to PowerPivot Gallery they have added
    in their Newsfeed for their personal site (no problems here).  The problem
    is when they try to save the report and go to Documents on one Drive it fails
    with below error message.  I am an admin but can save just fine to my
    documents.  I know the error shows an access issue but not sure where or
    how to resolve this issue for users.  <o:p></o:p>

    issue happens before they even save button it happens when they see the My
    Documents and try to open it.  Again it is there personal SharePoint site

    It's strange that the User Profile Service Application is not available there. Please use PowerShell to check it, and you can run the command below:
    Get-SPServiceApplication | where-object{$_.DisplayName -like 'User Profile*'}
    Please ensure you are connecting to the correct farm, and open PowerShell with administrator permission. Meanwhile, add a test user in your Active Directory, and test to see whether the user's My Site can be created.
    If the User Profile Service Application can be listed by PowerShell, and the new user's My Site can be created, there might be an UI issue in your Central Administration. Otherwise, you may consider to recreate or restore your User Profile Service Application.

    Dear Nokia/Microsoft Team, can someone assist me on this issue. I was using my Nokia Lumia 1520 with W8. I got notification to update to W8.1. After update now Sim not getting active. I am unable to change from flight mode. Also I tried to downgrade to W8. But no luck. Buying such expensive phone was a major mistake I think I made.

  • Nokia Lumia 1520 signal issues

    Hello
    I bought my Nokia Lumia 1520 about 3 weeks ago. It has the international Hong Kong version. Since the first day I've been experiencing singnal issues. Sometimes I can't even get a 3G or H+ signal! It keeps dropping on Edge. I tried the same SIM card on my Samsung Galaxy S3 and it has perfect 3G signal ! I tried with a reset, manual preference  for network and it still gives the same output.. I tried the same SIM card even on Samsung Galaxy Core and Samsung Galaxy S4 mini and they still have a better signal.. 
    So..what should I do? Did anyone else have the same problem..is there any fix..?

    Nice to see you posting here in our community. I hope you are using a regular micro SIM card. BTW, have you tried using another SIM card? If no, try using it first. If yes, the last option is to contact the point of purchase for warranty options.
