Lumia 1520 Camera and SD Issues

I love my Lumia 1520. I'm a heavy user of camera and video. Since the upgrade to 8.1 I have had persistent issues. I have reflashed my device twice and the problems remain.
1. The Nokia Camera app intermittently takes 2 - 4 mins to load. It says "loading" and does some processing. Sometimes it opens, sometimes it doesn't.
2. After the above behavior, Saving the photo takes 60 seconds or more. If I navigate away while the photo is being "saved" the photo is lost.
3. My original SD card, purchased with the phone at the AT&T store, is saying "Scan SD card and fix errors". Saying Yes to this seems to do nothing.
The above behavior is intermittent. For example just now while writing this, I tried the Microsoft Phone camera app and was able to take pictures successfully and without issue. I switched back to the Nokia Camera App, which I prefer, and the app functioned normally.
Yesterday I missed several important shots because the Nokia Camera App wouldn't load quickly (less than 30 seconds in this case) and the moment was long over when the camera was functional.

To troubleshoot this, purchase another SD memory card, a reputable brand from a reputable store. 32GB Kingston Class 10 SDHC cards have worked reliably for me through 3 years and on 4 different Nokia phones, others have other favorites.
Backup everything, to the cloud and/or via USB to a PC.
Menu -> Settings -> storage sense -> SD card -> remove, shut down the phone, remove the old SD card, insert the new SD card straight from the packaging into the phone, start up the phone. The new card must be recognized and ready for use in the phone right away, without error messages or scan for errors notices, otherwise go directly to the second step.
1: If the new SD card works without issues then the original SD card is defective.
2: If the intermittent errors persist then the phone need repair or replacement.
A competent store should acknowledge the warranty claim on either the SD card or the phone after this.

hi mate, u will need to get in touch with your retailer that you bought it from and demand a replacement. otherwise try performing a hard reset first and if that doesn't work, then use Nokia Software Recovery Tool.

Lumia 1520 camera issue

I just switched my old 928 with this one and everything is perfect except my camera.The quality and resolution are so bad,at least worce than on my old phone.I checked SkyDrive options,searched for hours,but no luck.How can I fix this?Thank you.

Hi, popke. Thanks for sharing with us your concern. Your camera resolution will depend on the aspect ratio that is currently set on your camera. BTW, does this happen regardless of which app you're using? Can you describe the image quality being taken by your Lumia 1520? Since you already have the latest software version, how about resetting the phone? Go to Settings > about > reset your phone. As this will delete all your data, be sure to have a backup file: Back up my stuff. Keep us posted.

Nokia Lumia 1520 - Bluetooth and Data Connectivity...

Hi - i recently updated my Nokia lumia 1520 with a new firmware that Nokia tool told me being available. after that i have consistantly having bluetooth connectivity issues and Data connectivity issues.
i have a Jabra Clipper bluetooth headset which . i am no longer able to pair it. it detect and says jabra clipper, then starts pairing, then simply says couldn't connect.
if i have wifi on, if i go out of range of the WIFI signal, my data connection stops working as well. this is 100% of the time. i have to reboot my phone to get data connectivity back.

Because I am just an end-user like you and I do not have your hardware combination here, I can only give general advice. Could be a new interoperability issue between these two devices, introduced with Lumia Cyan. Could be a old wrong pair-key. Or could be interfering between your Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (Bluetooth Adaptive Channel Hopping). Therefore, let us start with the Bluetooth part:
on the Nokia Lumia 1520, Settings » Wi-Fi » Off (to avoid any interference)
on the Nokia Lumia 1520, Settings » Bluetooth » On
(status: paired) tap and hold your Jabra CLIPPER » delete (if paired already)
on the Jabra CLIPPER, press and hold the multi-function button until the indicator light is solid blue (approximately 6 seconds) to activate the paring mode
Your Bluetooth headset should appear in your phone now. After you tapped on it, it should be paired successfully. Does it?
If not, start over again and between step 1 and 2, power off both Jabra CLIPPER and Nokia Lumia 1520.
If it still does not work, start over and between step 1 and 2, please hold volume down + power until the Nokia Lumia 1520 turns off (soft reboot; do not forget to set your date/time afterwards).
If it still does not work, start over and between step 1 and 2, turn off your Wi-Fi access point.
Does it work now?

Samsung Note 3 Camera and Flash Issues

I have a Samsung Note 3 that is only a few months old and the Camera continues to not function correctly.
Android 4.4.2
* Flash will randomly turn off and I will need to restart my device to get it working again.
* Pictures taken with camera are slow and very often out of focus.
The camera flash issue is something most people might not notice until they absolutely need the flash.
The camera taking a long time to focus/take pictures I'm sure a lot of people have seen on a more regular basis.

Lumia 1520 Sim and MicroSD bay

Hello,
My Yellow 1520's sim and microSD bays are wobley and not secure. Is this common where they kind of wiggle around when you touch them when they are fully installed? I'm not sure if this is a common issue or if it is only unique to mine. If it is unique, can I perhaps get a replacement sim/sd door? Thanks!

don't believe it is, so if you are concerned about the build quality of the particular handset you received, take it back to your point of purchase. if they are being less than helpful, take your phone to Nokia Care for inspection.

Lumia 720 Jumping and Vibration issue.

Hi, my Lumia 720, bought 10 days back is automatically vibrating and jumping between windows, to bing and home screen, and stopping at app switcher screen or home screen, and touch stops working(display and 3 keys). It works only after I press power on/off. Initially its occurance was less frequent but now its more often. Did reset, contacted nokia care and they reinstalled the OS. Yet, its happening. Please advise on this.

My Lumia 720 which I bought recently suffers from a strange behaviour. It starts vibrating suddenly, wildly and on its own without any provocation and after jumping several screens in quick succession, stops at Bing. This activity lasts anywhere from 10 seconds to half a minute. During this time, everything that I have been doing, attending a call, writing email or whatever, stops and after this forced interruption, I am forced to go to Bing. I have tried various steps like setting Display+touch settings to normal ( from high) and stopped Bing from operating on its own, but the problem continues. Is it a hardware or oftware issue? I have also seen that there are several users experiencing this problem and reporting this issue for quite sometime. In any case, Nokia should be aware of this and issuing the approrpiate patch to correct this situation. I wonder, Is anybody at Nokia listening?

Nokia lumia 820 camera and flash not working

Hi, i have my phone for five months,and a couple of days ago my camera stoped working..it is not broken,there isnt any physical problem with it.the buttons are frozen and grey and the screen is black. I had a hard reset a couple of times,doesnt help. I went to a phone service,they dont now whats wrong.. Please help me if you had a similar problem!!

Take it to a nokia care point,whatever phone service said that should of been more concise.

Nokia Lumia 1520 Video recording/playback issues.

I seem to have issues with video recording. Video seems to have some pause "still" effects when taking video and playback in phone shows those stops very clearly as it freezes for while and jumps many seconds forward.
When I play same file in PC with video player the video plays better but still I can manage to see some small Glitch in video like my phone did stop recoding for some frames. I have been using SD card and phone memory and both have same problem.

No solution so far and it is my wife phone so haven't have much reason to play with it find solution. She only takes photos anyway.
This current phone has already broke down 2 sim cards also or wireless charging did brake those not sure after stop using wireless charging 3rd sim card have been fine.
someday when have I feeling to take this phone to warranty service I will try wireless charging again.

Lumia 1520 32GB - One Drive Issue

Just got this phone as a replacement for my 920 and, for some reason, media stored on OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive) will not play (Error Messge: We cannot play this file on your phone) until I log out of OneDrive and log back in. It will work after logging back in for a period of time and then will stop, requiring me to do the log off/ log on process again. I have reset the phone with no improvement in this issue. Never had a problem on my old 920.
Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, any workarounds?

Do you only get the error with a particular media file, or with all playable files saved on OneDrive? Are you using a downloaded OneDrive app, or the one integrated with the phone's software? When you say reset, are you referring to the one under Settings > About? Do you have a stable WiFi or mobile data connection when playing the media files? Playing Onedrive files require a good internet connection.
If you're using a downloaded app, try removing and reinstalling the app from the Store. If it's happening with a particular file only, try to remove and re-upload that file to Onedrive. Download it first to a PC to back up the original file.
Make sure that the phone's software and system apps are updated as well. Check it under Settings > Phone update. Try scanning the app codes shown at this link: Nokia Windows Phone 8 App Updates.
Let us know if this information has helped resolved the issue.

IOS 7 no camera and other issues

I have iphone 5 and just did the iOS 7 upgrade, now I have no camera, no safari, no itunes, no itunes store and that is only what I have noticed right away. How do I fix ??????

Go into settings -> general -> reset -> reset network settings. Should fix ou right up.

Lumia 1520 camera seems to have dyed on me

I got this phone just over a month ago so unfortunately I can't take it back but the camera seems to have died on me. When I try to use the camera the screen goes black for a couple seconds then jumps back to my home screen .
I did the camera reset, phone soft reset, and the phone hard reset and had no luck the camera was one of the biggest selling points about this phone and it no longer has one.

Blurry Camera- Lumia 1520

My Lumia 1520 camera recently started getting blurry photos and videos too.
It dropped once on the ground and its frame displaced a bit at its upper right corner . Resetting phone didn't help.
Unfortunately Nokia Care isn't available in my country (Iran).
May you help me?

Were you able to get your camera issue sorted? I have been using a Nokia Lumia 1520 since the last 10 months and have noticed the same problem as yours. Whenever I click a photo with a lot of tube lights and bulbs in the background, I see rays around the light making the picture very blurry.
This never happened earlier; only since the last 10-15 days.
I'm not sure if Nokia can fix that; its still under warranty.

Buttons not working Lumia 1520

After being on the wireless charger all night my phone had frozen early morning. I did a reset using the on/off and volume buttons. This worked. Then I noticed that all the buttons were unresponsive. Also the wireless charging was not working. I can charge via a USB though. Also the glance screen still works so i can at least use the phone.
Can anyone help?

Are you referring to the hard buttons on the right side of the phone, or to the soft keys (back, start, search) below its screen? Aside from charging the phone wirelessly overnight, did something happen to your Lumia 1520 prior to this issue? Make sure that the phone's software is updated. Check it by going to Settings > Phone update. Try also to check if all running background apps are closed to prevent frequent freezing.
BTW, do you have a wireless charging shell for the phone? The Lumia 1520 needs this shell to enable wireless charging. Lumia 1520s bought in the USA use PMA wireless charging shells, while phones made for other regions use Qi enabled shells. Also, charging the phone until it's full is recommended instead of doing it overnight.
