Lumia 1520 reboots when front camera is used

Hi all, I picked up an international version of the Lumia 1520 a couple of weeks back in India and I just realized that the phone reboots when ever I try to use the front camera. This is happening with all apps. The apps that i have tried till now are as follows
OneShot, Nokia Camera, Default camera app and Camera360.
The reboot happens with all the apps only when I try to use the front camera. I have tried hard resetting the phone but that too has not solved the problem. I have seen a couple of discusstions on this topic over here but none of them contained any helpful replies.
The handset is running the Lumia Black update. I'm wondering if this is a hardware issue or software issue. If it is a software issue I dont mind waiting for a patch, but if it is a hardware issue then I have no option but to reutrn to it. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I purchased a Nokia Lumia 1520 from Snapdeal. 2 days after using the phone, I inserted an SD card for data transfer and it didn't work with the phone. I tried to format the SD card as per Nokia forums and also tried to reset the phone but to no help. I took the handset to Nokia Care (Net Dot Solutions, Tilak Nagar, Delhi) and they tried to do a software upgrade but to no help.
I submitted the brand new working phone and the Nokia care kept it for 15 days. The only reply I ever got from them was that the set is in the factory with no status update at all. After 15 days I got response from Nokia care that the Phone is warranty devoid and not covered under warranty any more. There was no specific reason given for the warranty being devoid.
When I went to collect the set, it had minor scratches on the screen, which were not there when the set was submitted. The support personnel said that these are very minor and expected to be there. Very Strange! Also upon using the phone after I got it back from Nokia Care, I found that the front Camera is not working and the phone crashes each time the Camera is opened. Also the Auto-Brightness control (probably due to its sensor) is also not working.
Nokia care has damaged my phone in the 15 days they had it. Who is to be held responsible. And now they say my phone is warranty devoid and I need to pay for any repairs.

Hi, I bougth a 1520.3 on the april 5 2014 and it seems that the ffc is diffective because when i try to use it it reboots the phone.
I tried all the recommended steps mentioned on the Nokia care site with no success.
It's supposed to be a flagship phone, hope the support and goes with it...

They wont repair it. Don't waste your time. Nokia USA use third party repair centers, and will not repair any phone under warranty that are not made for the USA region. The 1520.3 is made for the latin America market and thus does not meet USA warranty. Trying to get my phone back now from the dallas repair center. They messed up on the shipping and no its stuck somewhere at their center. probably under a bunch of other non repairable lumias.

Hi, i just got my second lumia 1520.. Both of them reboots (restarts) at random times, most often when i am on my way to school with the train. (happens at home, in school and so on also, just not that often)
are more people having this problem? this problem is getting expensive, sens i have to spend 20 pund each time to send it back where i got it from.
Have tryd factory resets in the meny and so on..it dont work.

I have had a 1520 since December 2013. I am on my second phone and second SIM card, both restart many times each day, sometimes several times an hour. I have disabled Bing apps, and did a hard reset on each unit. I don't believe that I got 2 phones from the same bad batch because the first was from the local store and the second was shipped to me. I did a new setup on the second phone so nothing carried over from the first phone. I have unistalled most apps. I waited for the latest update, on 3-21-14, and that did not fix it. I am out of options at this point.

I am noticing this after applying the latest update.
If the phone is being charged, and at the same time music is being played (using the headset), the Lumia 800 seems to reboot after about every 10-15 minutes. Can confirm and reproduce this on my phone. Is this generally an issue, or only a problem with my handset?

I have read some post in Microsoft Answers on this issue. Seems like problem occurs when you play songs using Smart DJ mix with incomplete metadata(album artworks, bios..etc).
If songs in your collection cannot be recognized to by Zune Marketplace it forces the phone to reboot. I can give workarounds:
* Before syncing/adding music to your phone download all the metadata and exclude those who lacks.
* On your phone don't connect to zune if listening to those music not recognized by Zune Marketplace. That is going to phone Settings>Applications>music+videos toggle Connect to Zune to Off.
I am really disappointed on my Lumia 800, now I am working for my moneyback.
It appears that NokiaMS still not finished with WPBeta.
Nokia I didn't sign-up as a Beta tester. I am no guinea pig.

Iphone reboots when i try to use camera

here it is. explaining this is hard............
i try to use camera app/ phone reboots everytime !!!!!!!
when phone goes into "auto-lock"/ phone turns completely off (unless charging !)
when i cut off (tap top button once) phone turns completely off after like 15 seconds, (unless charging !) if i hit top button or home button within 15 seconds it does not turn completely off. Everything else works as it should.

i've had to turn auto-lock to "never" in order to use phone which causes short battery life. Please help this frigging ***** !!!!!!!!!!

No. With an iPhone, off is off...nothing works. If you want your alarm to work, you'll have to leave the phone in stand-by mode.

Lumia 1520 Crash/Rebooting

I have a new unlocked Lumia 1520. When I went to my phone operator for a new SIM, they advised their testing had shown the phone crashes to a restart when it has their SIM in (it was fine otherwise). This is the exact behaviour I have seen.
It seem that mostly the crashes occur when moving between 2G and 3G (we dont have 4G here yet), although, infrequently it will crash to a restart when just on 2G (or 3G). It seems less frequent when the internet APN is set to CHAP, but I cant be sure of this.
The firmware is fully updates, all the apps are fully updated etc...
Has any one else experianced that, or anything similar, and any idea on solutions. I really like the phone, so would like to keep with it if possible.

I feared that may be the case, I was wondering, is there any way of getting a crash report out of the phone, I am in contact with the Operator technical team, and it may help them.
As an aside, the non 2G/3G switching crashes seem to have been resolved by removing the Nokia App folders app.

They wanted me to register, so I registered (as my old apple ID) and then they asked if I want to restore backup, I did that too. after the restore back up process, the only things that aren't there were my music and apps! what should I do to get them into my new iPhone?

Try resetting your phone by holding down the home and off button until the apple symbol comes up. Then if still doing, restore your phone in itunes from your backup.

Lumia 1520.3 Front Camera Issue

As Lumia Denim update is expected on the last quarter of the year, will it fix the front camera issue of the Lumia 1520?
My phone is originally running on Lumia Black and the phone is working perfectly until i installed the dev prev. Regardless of what camera app, once front camera is called, app automatically close. Done soft reset, hard reset and Nokia Recovery Tool but to no avail, front camera is still useless.
Hope the next iteration of the software will fix this problem.

hi mate, sorry to hear of your problems. have u tried installing Lumia Cyan as this may fix your issues (i.e. has the correct optimisations and driver updates for your Nokia). i know it is a pain to hard reset and update manually to Lumia Cyan, but it may be the only option before taking your phone to Nokia Care for inspection

If you are talking about landscape pictures, hold the phone so the camera is at the top and the volume buttons on the bottom. If you hold it with the volume buttons on the top, the camera is upside down.

When you did the restore, did you restore from a backup or restore as new? The final step of user troubleshooting is to restore as a new device, not from a backup. If you restore as a new device and the camera still does not function, it is probably a hardware issue. Make an appointment at the Apple Store Genius Bar and have the device checked by a Genius.

If you restored the iPad to factory settings and the camera still locks up, you may have a hardware problem and it may be time to get Apple involved.
If it was just Skyoe, I would suggest deleting the app and reinstalling, but you can't delete FaceTime.
Can you use the camera otherwise - meaning to take photos and videos - front and back facing both work?
