Lumia 2520 Power Keyboard - running with lid close...

Hi,
I have a 2520 and Power Keyboard.  When I am at home at my desk I would like to plug it into my KVM switch to use my full size keyboard, mouse and large monitor.  If I leave the 2520 in the power keyboard and close it up, the screen blanks and I can't do anything.
Is there a setting somewhere to enable me to treat it more like a docking station?

go to windows power options. (right click the battery charge icon)
select change plan settings
select change advanced power settings
expand power buttons and lid
expand lid clos action
select do nothing in pluged in field
done

  • Lumia 2520 Power Keyboard Battery Level

Apologies to those of you who are still waiting/looking for one of these. Got my free one this week. For those that do have one, I guess you have noticed that the Battery icon in the system tray on the desktop lets you see both the tablet and the keyboard power status, Charged, percentage, not charging, etc.
My tablet gets to 100% just fine. The keyboard has never seen above 87%, and at that point actually says 'not charging'. I can drain it some, and plug it back in and it will show the keyboard charging, but it hasn't got above 85-87% and then says it has quit. What do you guys see? Normal? Problem?

My Lumia 2520 with Nokia Power Keyboard shows Battery #1: Fully charged (100%) and Battery #2: 0% available (plugged in, charging). However, even after more than 8 hours plugged in and showing "charging", Battery #2 never shows more than 0%.
The tablet was a used gift, but the keyboard is new, ordered online from Verizon. It has done this from the first time using the tablet with the new keyboard. As far as I know, the tablet never had a keyboard attached until now. All keyboard functions appear to work properly and all tablet functions appear to work properly. I used the tablet with the keyboard for several hours unplugged and the Battery #1 disharged to about 80%. When I plugged it in, Battery #1 charged up to 100% and then it showed Battery #2 plugged in and charging, but never changed from 0% available on Battery #2.
I have tried the Power button and +Volume button technique with no change. It does go throught the stages of showing 0%, not charging on both batteries and then after resetting it goes back to showing the same issue of never showing an increase in Battery #2charge % beyond 0%.
Nokia telephone tech support had me go through that same exercise with no fix. I also refreshed Windows to see if a driver was corrupt with no joy.
None of the nearby Verizon, AT&T or Microsoft stores have the Nokia Porwe Keyboard in stock so I ordered another keyboard from Verizon and if it works then will get a refund on this one that isn't working.
If anyone has any other ideas on how to get the keyboard battery to show that it is charged beyond 0% then please let me know so I won't be returning a good keyboard thinking it is defective.

  • Nokia Lumia 2520 Power Keyboard

Hey Everyone. I have a slight problem. I recently purchased this tablet (Nokia Lumia 2520) because I was looking for neither a tablet or laptop. I wanted both. So I came to contact my Verizon dealer, who recommended this tablet because "It comes with a keyboard out of the box." However, as you may know, I opened the box and of course no keyboard!
I've been researching how to aquire this keyboard, and I've come to no avail. I can't buy it and I can't get my free one.
I'm greatly satisfied with the tablet so far. I have no doubts it's a fantastic product.
However, I've come to a crossroads with the keyboard. I'm greatly disappointed in the false advertisement.
What do you recommend I do?
I'd like to keep the tablet, but I'm not about to pay upwards of $120 for something that was supposed to come with it. I'll return it before that happens.

your only option of those peovided is to return it. you may recommend further training for the sales reps as well. the rep will hopeflly learn as $500 is a decent chunk of commission lost.

  • Running with lid closed, no external monitor?

Is it possible to run with the display closed without having an external monitor connected? Closing the display without external monitor hooked up always seems to cause computer to go to sleep. Do they do this for heat reasons?

It is just a feature when you close the lid the comp goes to sleep. If you have a external keyboard have you attempted to wake your laptop by pressing a few keys? I know this will wake the laptop if you have a external monitor connected, you may also just click the mouse button to.

  • 10.4.10 problem running with lid closed

Installed 10.4.10 last night, and now I'm having a problem running with the lid closed.
Every day at work, I connect my PowerBook G4 1.33GHz to an external display and USB keyboard/mouse (through a USB hub). I have plenty of room on the external display so I don't use the attached LCD panel - I just close the lid and tuck the computer under the monitor riser. It takes a couple seconds for everything to "adjust" when I connect all the hardware (screen turns on and off once or twice), but it always settled down within 10-15 seconds.
After installing 10.4.10, this configuration is totally unusable. After the external display wakes up, I only have a few usable seconds before the computer goes back to sleep. I can wake it again immediately by moving the mouse or hitting a key on the keyboard, but it never stays awake.
I've tried two different USB hubs as well as directly connecting the keyboard and mouse to the laptop, but I get the same behavior in all cases. If I open the lid, the LCD panel comes on and everything works fine (I can use the USB keyboard/mouse and the external display).
Has anyone had a similar problem since updating to 10.4.10? Like a fool, I rushed right into installing the update without doing a backup, so I'm stuck unless the problem gets fixed or I do a rebuild with 10.4.9.

  • [SOLVED] Power button and laptop lid close rules not followed (KDE)

I'm using KDE 4.9.1, and the rules I set for the power button and lid close events in the KDE power management settings are not followed.
Currently, I have the power button press event set to trigger hibernation, and the lid close event set to turn off the display. Instead, the power button causes the laptop to power down immediately, as if the 'poweroff' command was issued. Closing the lid causes the system to suspend to ram.
This problem seemed to have started when I installed 'laptop-mode-tools' and 'acpid'. The problem persisted even when I uninstalled the said packages from the system. Most solutions on the internet involve adjusting the contents of files in /etc/acpi/, but that directory does not exist on my system. I also tried deleting the power management configuration files in the ~/.kde4/share/config directory, but that didn't fix the problem either.
Hibernation works if I choose 'hibernate' from the KDE menu.
    Thanks for any help.

    That's not a good solution.
Changes in systemd default behaviour are reasonable. It guarantees that if your graphical enviroment has no suspend support, it will still suspend when the lid is closed.
For example, closing the laptop lid at KDM login screen will now suspend the laptop. I remember a topic when someone nearly killed his notebook battery with overheat in that situation (the laptop did not suspend when the lid was closed at kdm screen).
This change also brings native (non-acpid) suspend support to lighweight desktop enviroments.
The source of the «double suspend» problem is in acynchronized update of systemd and KDE.
Updating KDE to 4.9.2 (which will be released in several days) will fix this without editing the config file.
Make sure you restore the original logind.conf after updating to KDE 4.9.2.

  • Macbook Pro 13" 2010 wireless keyboard/mouse with lid open?

Can one use a wireless keyboard and/or mouse with a Macbook Pro when the lid is open?
I'm planning to purchase a 13" mbp soon and will have an external monitor attached. There will be times when typing on a wireless keyboard will be preferred. I know that you can use a wireless keyboard and mouse in clamshell mode, buy can't find any notes re: their use with the lid open.
    Thanks.
p.s. I've really appreciated reading the postings in the forums when researching my upcoming purchases.

Certainly. It should work just fine.

  • Mirroring possibilities for Lumia 2520 into TV?

I want to mirror my videos (i.e. Online ondemand movies) and etc into my LED TV. What are the best solutions at the moment for Lumia 2520?
I also got iPad and Apple TV and I'm looking for solution which handles mirroring into TV as easy as with iPad.
Lumia 2520 is awesome tablet by the way. Forget iPad Retina screen quality, Nokia Lumia 2520 goes far further with its brilliant screen.

Several sources confirm that Lumia 2520 has Miracast support.

"... When you use wireless display, you have a source and a receiver: your Windows 8.1 device is the source, while your TV or projector is the receiver. If your display already has Miracast support, you are ready to go. If not, Miracast adapters provide an economical way to add wireless display to your existing TV or projector.
Wireless display works on new Windows 8.1 wireless PCs. This includes Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2, Nokia Lumia 2520, and Intel Atom Generation 3 (“Bay Trail”) and Intel Core Generation 4 (“Haswell”) systems. ..."

“Similarly, we’ve created a special version of Nokia Music for the Lumia 2520. We offer free full track streaming, just like on your Lumia smartphone, and we’ve really taken advantage of the great screen size to use high quality artist images to make the app look as good as it sounds.
USB 3.0 support and Micro-HDMI connectors, together with support for DLNA and Miracast, make it easy to connect the Lumia 2520 to larger screens and audio systems."

  • Lumia 2520 / Keyboard...

I'm in the UK to start with.
So I bought my 2520 tablet in the UK when they first came out. Disappointed that they did not do the cyan colour here (or anywhere?). Also disappointed it took about 6 months before the powerkeyboard was sold (and only in black)
Does anywhere actually sell the red keyboard for anywhere close to what John Lewis sells the black one (£99).
It seems strange that it was marketed against the Air as having the keyboard and never really had one available for months. To me Nokia messed up the launch of this tablet and appear to have given up on it, without supporting it properly with a launch of the accessories.
Has anyone got the white or cyan version? Was the powerkeyboard made available in other places at a reasonable price?

    Hi, Serton.
Welcome to the Nokia Support Discussions!
The Nokia Power Keyboard for Lumia 2520 has two colors, black and red. To buy one, go here: http://www.nokia.com/gb-en/accessories/accessory/su-42/. However, availability of color may vary depending on their stocks.
It is also available in some regions where the Lumia 2520 has been released, but we recommend buying it in your region as Nokia does not have an international warranty.
    Good day!

  • Lid close = LCD with no signal

Hey guys, I hope someone can help me with this problem,
I have a 2 Macbooks Air 11'' , one from mid 2011 and the other from mid 2013. Before I had the mid 2013 Macbook Air I worked with the other Macbook plugged and connected with a Mini DisplayPorto to VGA Adapter to a LCD monitor, a Apple Wireless Keyboard and a Magic Mouse. I was also using a BookArc wich means the lid was closed. It worked and still works very well with any of the 2 LCD monitors I have.
With the Macbook Air from mid 2013 it's a diffente story, I can connect to any of the LCD monitors, it displays the image, but when I close the lid the signal that LCD receves is lost. My first thought was that the Macbook Air was in sleep mode, but if I open the text editor and start typing anything in the Wireless Keyboard and with the lid still closed it is detected by the Macbook Air.
Anyone have a clue what the problem can be?
    Thanks for the help

Probably it's an issue with HDCP. What OS are you running?
