Lumia 2520 USB

Has anybody else hooked up the 2520 to a Windows 8.1 pc? I've plugged it in and get nothing, my pc doesnt even acknowledge its been plugged in. I cant find any drivers on the Nokia support page either unless I'm missing something. Seems this tablet is having several issues right out of the box and might headed back to the store for a return.

I see no reason that it shouldn't. I just ordered the same connector from the same supplier. How long did it take to get it? You should be able to see all of the information you would on your computer in file explorer or my computer. Of course when you first plug it in be on the desk top not start and you'll get a quiry on the right upper corner asking you what you want to do. I woud imagine you want to see the contents of the drive. The nice thing about the WD app is that it catagorizes the drive content and lets you easily find your music, etc. with Icons containing samples of the pictures, etc.
The more I work with this 2520, the more I like it! Even with the glitches, I think it is going to exceed my expectations.I was looking at a new Aston Martin in England in 1970 when I was close to getting out of the Army and the salesman asked me if I could stay in England for a month after I bought the car. I asked him why and he said that it would be best as the car may have some "teething" problems. I feel like we have purchased a very high quality computer at the introduction of the model and just neeed to get through th teething problems!

Looking for a functioning Micro USB 3.0 adapter for the 2520. I've tested different cable adapter. The most are working, but without the full USB 3.0 power. I get only 2.0 speed. Does anyone have a suggestion for me much light?

Not much from Nokia, but the cables/adapters are available, you just need to get the right ones for sure.

  • Nokia Lumia 2520 Charger

    I bought a Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablet
One charger comes in the box. The tablet doesnt charge through usb port (data only).
There appears to be no chargers on sale (anywhere!) for this tablet.
    What happens if:
The one I have breaks, is faulty, is lost, left at a hotel etc etc etc.
I want to charge the tablet in my car
Where can I get another charger from??? The current situation leaves me in a very precarious situation. If i was to lose my charger - my tablet would be unusable as I would never be able to charge it again - £400 down the drain.
Can someone please tell me where I can get a charger from?

No guarantees, but found this at Amazon. Right specs, looks like the right connector.  2520 Charger
Another one  Just chatted with the MS Store and they suggested calling them at 800-642-7676 and see if they can find one. Good luck.  Looks like Verizon and AT&T bailed on them. Might try calling their support, especially if you bought from one of them.
BTW, be careful. There are tons of chargers that claim to be Lumi 2520 cell phone chargers, etc, that clearly are 5v, i.e. USB, chargers. The 2520 does NOT charge off USB, as you probably know. The two I linked are the proper voltage at least, 20v.
And there is a thread here that says the Samsung series 7 slate charger works. It is 19v, but that could actually work. If it were me, I think I'd risk the Samsung. Got an actual confirmation from a real guy.

  • AC-300 Charger for Lumia 2520

    Hello,
Can anyone tell me where I can buy one of these?
My charger has already been replaced through the product recall but is now broken.
John Lewis (where I bought the device) and my local Nokia Care shop have both said they don't stock this charger. No other phone/tablet shop I have tried does either.
I have tried buying one online but I keep getting sent micro USB chargers which don't fit the device.
I cannot find the link to buy one on the Nokia site or any direct way to contact Nokia (apart from here) to ask about buying one.
My tablet has not been used for over two weeks now as I can't charge it so I appreciate any help.
    Thanks,
    Kevin

You could try to contact Nokia support in your country or local Nokia service.
Or buy it from some e-shop. I've made some quick search and found:

  • Lumia 2520 Auto Accessories?

Has anyone found any solutions, other than using an inverter, for charging a Lumia 2520 in your car?  Perhaps a USB->3.5mm adapter?
    Thanks

Hate to be a killjoy here, but I'd bet against finding an adapter that fits the coaxial plig for the charger and adapts to the Lumia. You'd likeluy have to make one, in which case cutting off the current one and soldering on the right one for Lumia would be easier, assuming you have a soldering iron, and a voltmetter to get the polarity right. That's after you acquire the right plug.
I'd suggest an inverter actually. That's a device that turns your car 12v DC into 110 AC. ( I assume 220 ones exist if that's your normal standard.  Here's a search at Amazon.  Mount something like this in your car and you should be golden, for about anything. You aren't running your girl friend's hair dryer off it, but you could charge your Lumia.
Just a rough rule of thumb. volts times amps equals watts. ( yes, there are power factors, inductance, yadda yadda, but basically...) So the output for the Lumia charger, 20v * 1.5A is about 30 watts. The input to the charger says 100-240v @ 0.65A , so that is 65 to 156 watts. Why the big difference? Well the input is what you need to ensure the source to the charger (the wall outlet) can deliver, so the charger is guaranteed to pull less so you don't run the risk of burning up the source. Typically that is overspec'd for safety. (The say they draw more than they expect so if you meet it you are safe) The output of the charger is what it can safely deliver, underspec'd for safety. That is, if you draw every bit of that, you can't hurt it.  There are some losses in the conversion so what comes out is always less than what goes in. In any case, an inverter that promises 200w is more than enough. I am a little hesitant about the size of the 12v wire on that thing, because to get 200W you'd need to draw 16Amps, and that suggests house wiring wire sizes to me, but hey, what do I know, just a BSEE. So, I wouldn't plug three Lumias into it, but one and a Windows Phone or two on the USB, is reasonable. There are lots of options. I would lean towards the ones with one or two AC outlets and a metal shell. Better for heat dissapation.

Lumia 1020 -> The apotheosis of Nokia

Hi everybody. I'll copy the same thing I posted in WindowsCentral forums here hoping that someone will be able to help me:
I just received my Lumia 2520 and as soon as I got my tablet activated, downloaded a couple of apps it suddenly switched off. When I switched it back on again it showed the 'sad face' BSOD (Attached Image 1).
Then it kept restarting and showing the same message over and over again with a few exceptions when it showed some particular errors instead of the one above (and hanged for 10+ minutes at 100%) (Image 2).
This kept on going but then I managed to get to the 'Diagnosing your PC' screen followed by 'Choose an option' screen (Image 3) where I would be able to reset my device to the state it was when it got out of factory...if I had the Recovery Image written on an USB drive!
The question is, could someone who has the 2520 create the image and share it with me, please?

  • Mirroring possibilities for Lumia 2520 into TV?

I want to mirror my videos (i.e. Online ondemand movies) and etc into my LED TV. What are the best solutions at the moment for Lumia 2520?
I also got iPad and Apple TV and I'm looking for solution which handles mirroring into TV as easy as with iPad.
Lumia 2520 is awesome tablet by the way. Forget iPad Retina screen quality, Nokia Lumia 2520 goes far further with its brilliant screen.

Several sources confirm that Lumia 2520 has Miracast support.

If your display already has Miracast support, you are ready to go. If not, Miracast adapters provide an economical way to add wireless display to your existing TV or projector.
Wireless display works on new Windows 8.1 wireless PCs. This includes Surface 2 and Surface Pro 2, Nokia Lumia 2520, and Intel Atom Generation 3 (“Bay Trail”) and Intel Core Generation 4 (“Haswell”) systems. ..."

USB 3.0 support and Micro-HDMI connectors, together with support for DLNA and Miracast, make it easy to connect the Lumia 2520 to larger screens and audio systems."

  • Lumia 2520 Windows RT 8.1 Tablet unable to activat...

About a week or so ago, my Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet with Power Keyboard (purchased through Telstra in Australia) wouldn't start and took me to the Windows RT 8.1 Recovery options. After unsuccessfully trying to use the recovery options to do a refresh, I decided to do a full Reset as all my data was either stored on a MicroSD card or in OneDrive.
Unfortunately, the device has not worked since. The cause of the problem is that when I reset the device (effectively doing a reset to factory default) and then going through the initial set up of Windows RT 8.1, I am advised that I need to activate the device, but the device failes activation and I am getting an error, Error code: 0xc004f012 the licensing software service reported that the call has failed because the value for the input was not found.
I am unable to use Microsoft Office as I am advised it isn't licensed and about 75% of Windows updates fail. I have now reset the device a few times, but I am getting nowwhere.
I rang and spoke to Nokia Australia Support today on 1300 366 733 and they advised me to search and run a command "slui 4", which started a wizard to perform a phone activation, but after selecting Australia as the country, the next windows, which is meant to provide the number to call and provide the installation ID from which I am meant to get an confirmation ID to enter. Unfortunately, the details of the telephone number and installation ID are never displayed, with the circling little dots going for ever!!
In essence, the Windows Activation process is looking for a Windows Product Key, which is not provided.  Consequently, I am being asked for a Product key for Windows RT 8.1 even though you don't get one.
Although I will try with Nokia Support again tomorrow, I am starting to getting desperate! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Nokia Lumia 2520 - stuck in updating mode.

I have a new Lumia 2520, which I began to commission today.  I got it to look for updates, and it found a large number to download and install including one for the firmware.  It appeared to download them, but then installation of all of them repeatedly failed, with the error message saying that an update was already in progress.  I left it for four hours, still the same.  Then from experience in commissioning Windows PCs I set it to restart and during the closedown sequence it came up with a blue screen and a message "Keep your PC on until this is done.  Installing update 1 of 5".
Nine hours later the same message is displayed.  The tablet is plugged into the charger, and is sitting adjacent to the wifi router: it has power and connectivity.  Online information suggests that no update to this device should take more than 25-30 minutes.  It just seems stuck: won't switch on, won't switch off.
What's wrong, and what can I do about it?
    Thank you.

  • Nokia Lumia 2520 Shut off after connected to keybo...

    Hello all,
I have a Lumia 2520 tablet which I've had for about 4 months now.  I initially purchased one of the power keyboards with my tablet which worked great at first.  Then the tablet stopped responding to tkeyboard.  I sent in the tablet for repairs and it was returned with a status "Not broken" or something like that.  The tablet still wouldn't respond to the keyboard, though.  thinking that the problem was most likely teh keyboard, I purchased another keyboard. (I really wanted the red one anyway).
At first, the tablet and keyboard was working just fine.  But two weeks later, the tablet started shutting off when connected to keyboard.  So here's the basic scenario.  If my tablet is docked in the keyboard, I won't turn on.  I've attempted to hold the power button down forcing a full shutdown, and then turn it on, but that doesn't work either.  If I remove the tablet from the keyboard, it still doesn't turn on.  But if I hold down the power button for approx 15 seconds, and then try to turn it on, it comes on without any problems.  Now, if I re-dock the tablet with the keyboard, it immediately shutdown.  As if it's going to sleep.  But once again, will not turn back on unless I repeat the remove and holding down the power button.
Is this a problem with the tablet, or the keyboard.
    Please help.
    thanks!!

Yardi Systems supporter of Microsoft and creates program to run on IE. One such program is called Payscan. It allows users to scan Invoices and post into the system. After posting the image of such invoices are abailable for view, for that Yardi prompts to install GPI to view images. However Microsoft does not allow to run such programs in my Windows RT tablet. Is there a work around? The image could be exported as PDF and opened using Adobe, which is a waste of time and space constraints

  • Adapter micro HDMI to VGA for Nokia Lumia 2520

could someone tell me which adapter micro HDMI to VGA is suitable for Nokia Lumia 2520 please?

  • Hardbuttons on Lumia 2520 tablet have stopped work...

Owned my tablet for about a week with absolutely no problems but then after trying to update software the update failed and so the tablet went to revert changes. Everything was fine until in the evening when I decided to install the update again and it did so successfully, however, after the update my lock, volume, and Windows buttons have stopped working.
The Windows button still vibrates but does nothing else. The lock button when held down long enough still restarts the tablet further leading me to believe this is a software fault not a hardware one.
Since the problem has arisen I have searched the internet for help but to no avail. I have of course tried numerous soft resets and even a complete hard reset. The problem has not gone away.
On some other websites other users have had this exact problem too.
This is just such a shame. Otherwise it is a great product and was really enjoying owning it but like so many of my Nokia things recently something catastrophic goes wrong!
This has effectively made the Lumia 2520 completely unusable as a tablet.

Hi, mattypaul. We appreciate your time visiting the Microsoft Mobile Community. We can't confirm if it's a software related issue, but there are troubleshooting steps we can try to further identify it. Can you confirm that the fixes you've already tried are the ones given here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/mobile/support/product/lumia2520/product-troubleshooting/? Hello,
I'm a student from europe and keen to buy a tablet. I'm looking @ the lumia 2520 and must say that so far it is looking good! Most of all, I'm interested in  the " enhanced outdoor readibility " and since I'm often on the go or outside that would be one of my prime concerns. I didn't realize that it was available until after I saw the ad with the dog.
I'd like to know, if anybody could explain to me a little more what that "enhanced outdoor readibility" actually is?
Because I still have my doubts! (not to mention the limited RT operating system) Is there a technology behind it or does it merely have do with good resolution and the 650 nits that you can also see in the specs. Does it go by a name...?
I'd like to learn a little more about it before I make a choice.
