Lumia 2520 Windows RT 8.1 Tablet unable to activat...

About a week or so ago, my Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet with Power Keyboard (purchased through Telstra in Australia) wouldn't start and took me to the Windows RT 8.1 Recovery options. After unsuccessfully trying to use the recovery options to do a refresh, I decided to do a full Reset as all my data was either stored on a MicroSD card or in OneDrive.
Unfortunately, the device has not worked since. The cause of the problem is that when I reset the device (effectively doing a reset to factory default) and then going through the initial set up of Windows RT 8.1, I am advised that I need to activate the device, but the device failes activation and I am getting an error, Error code: 0xc004f012 the licensing software service reported that the call has failed because the value for the input was not found.
I am unable to use Microsoft Office as I am advised it isn't licensed and about 75% of Windows updates fail. I have now reset the device a few times, but I am getting nowwhere.
I rang and spoke to Nokia Australia Support today on 1300 366 733 and they advised me to search and run a command "slui 4", which started a wizard to perform a phone activation, but after selecting Australia as the country, the next windows, which is meant to provide the number to call and provide the installation ID from which I am meant to get an confirmation ID to enter. Unfortunately, the details of the telephone number and installation ID are never displayed, with the circling little dots going for ever!!
In essence, the Windows Activation process is looking for a Windows Product Key, which is not provided.  Consequently, I am being asked for a Product key for Windows RT 8.1 even though you don't get one.
Although I will try with Nokia Support again tomorrow, I am starting to getting desperate! Any help will be greatly appreciated.

DB Jones

Welcome to our community, reza2520. Any activity that you have done on the Lumia tablet prior to this issue? Have you already tried restarting it to see if there's any difference? Is it up-to-date? If you haven't tried checking it, here's how: Software Update for Lumia tablet with Windows RT. We look forward to your reply.

  • Lumia 2520 Windows key doesnt light up

    HI,
just received my Lumia 2520 from At&t yesterday and having a "little" but annoying issue with this otherwise great device:
The Windows key on the bezel does not light up. It is "ok" when it is bright and etc. but when it is dark around me, it would be most helpful to see where the key is at.
Is there any way to turn it off and on?
    Thank you for any help.
ps: my 920 buttons light up perfectly.

There isn't a light under that button so there is no way to make it light up. It doesn't light up on many other windows tablets either, guessing that's because of it being the only front button and being in an easy to remember location.

  • Installing Windows 8.1 on Ideapad - unable to activate

    Hi,
I've installed Windows 8.1 on my Ideapad z500 which I understand is a free update if you have Windows 8 (Which came pre-installed)
I've come to install it, and there's no product key on the machine. I've read that the Windows 8 key is in the bios and it will automatically activate ... but it keeps asking for the license key.
I notice that a large number of people have managed to install it ... what am I missing, where is the license key?
I'd appreciate any help or advice anyone can give.
    Thanks
    John

    Go to Solution.

Use RWEverything and write down the Windows 8 serial key from the ACPI > MSDM table.
    Next
Right-click the bottom left of the screen and open COMMAND PROMPT AS ADMINISTRATOR.
    Then enter these commands:
slmgr -ipk #####-#####-#####-#####-##### (serial key goes at hashes)
slmgr -ato (this command will activate Windows)
    This should and will work.
If having issues, do a clean Windows 8 install, and to the upgrade using Windows Store like it was meant to be. You shouldn't have any issues.
If you need more help let me know !

  • "Purchase couldn't be completed" on Windows RT 8.1 tablet. Error 0x80240017

I'm trying to get Revel installed on a Nokia Lumia 2520 (Windows RT 8.1 tablet), and it keeps throwing the error message "Your purchase couldn't be completed: Something happened and your purchase can't be completed. Error code 0x80240017."
The tablet is fully updated as of 11/28. I checked UAC and that's turned on, as well as automatic updates, and I even wiped the device out and reloaded everything. No dice.
Also checked, and KB2887595 is installed, so it's not that...
    Any ideas?

Revel is supported on windows 8 tablets and compuers, but is not currently supported on Windows RT.

  • Hardbuttons on Lumia 2520 tablet have stopped work...

Owned my tablet for about a week with absolutely no problems but then after trying to update software the update failed and so the tablet went to revert changes. Everything was fine until in the evening when I decided to install the update again and it did so successfully, however, after the update my lock, volume, and Windows buttons have stopped working.
The Windows button still vibrates but does nothing else. The lock button when held down long enough still restarts the tablet further leading me to believe this is a software fault not a hardware one.
Since the problem has arisen I have searched the internet for help but to no avail. I have of course tried numerous soft resets and even a complete hard reset. The problem has not gone away.
On some other websites other users have had this exact problem too.
This is just such a shame. Otherwise it is a great product and was really enjoying owning it but like so many of my Nokia things recently something catastrophic goes wrong!
This has effectively made the Lumia 2520 completely unusable as a tablet.

Hi, mattypaul. We appreciate your time visiting the Microsoft Mobile Community. We can't confirm if it's a software related issue, but there are troubleshooting steps we can try to further identify it. Can you confirm that the fixes you've already tried are the ones given here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/mobile/support/product/lumia2520/product-troubleshooting/? Note that the link is intended for the US, but it's still applicable regardless of your location. We'll wait for your reply.

  • Connection problem with Nokia Lumia 2520 tablet

I found the problem when connecting Nokia Lumia 2520 Tablet to Linksys EA4500 router WiFi network "Wireless-N" mode. TheInternet and local network  connection disappears after a few minutes, the ping test fails. In "Wireless-A" mode (5 GHz) and "Wireless-G" mode (2,4 GHz) connection is normal, but i need more speed!
When i have connect this tablet to the other routers in mode Wireless-N connectivity problems do not occur.
Reset the router and the tablet to the factory defaults does not help.
    Router firmware version - 2.1.39.145204
Nokia Lumia 2520 have Qualcomm Atheros AR6x04 WLAN Adapter

Disable 5ghz wireless and use only wireless N.

  • E-mail on Lumia 2520 Tablet

Tried to set up my comcast.net e-mail account on lumia 2520 in mail.  Seemed to take information, but does not work and cannot remove it or re-enter it.  also got message about not being able to do a POP 3 account.  Any suggestions

I just saw yes.. Did not actually know they removed that. Frankly however, I believe any modern day server will allow POP and IMAP anyway. Especially for a mailbox seen and used on multiple devices IMAP would IMO be a much better protocol.
Anyway, this is an 'issue'with the OS and if you want to hav ethis addressed there is really nothing anyone here (or an Nokia Care really) can do.

  • Nokia Lumia 2520 - stuck in updating mode.

I have a new Lumia 2520, which I began to commission today.  I got it to look for updates, and it found a large number to download and install including one for the firmware.  It appeared to download them, but then installation of all of them repeatedly failed, with the error message saying that an update was already in progress.  I left it for four hours, still the same.  Then from experience in commissioning Windows PCs I set it to restart and during the closedown sequence it came up with a blue screen and a message "Keep your PC on until this is done.  Installing update 1 of 5".
Nine hours later the same message is displayed.  The tablet is plugged into the charger, and is sitting adjacent to the wifi router: it has power and connectivity.  Online information suggests that no update to this device should take more than 25-30 minutes.  It just seems stuck: won't switch on, won't switch off.
What's wrong, and what can I do about it?
    Thank you.

Hi, auchindrain. How's your tablet now? If you're still having the same issue, best to try the troubleshooting steps shown at this link: Lumia 2520 - Need help in fixing a problem?. • Nokia Lumia 2520 Shut off after connected to keybo...

    Hello all,
I have a Lumia 2520 tablet which I've had for about 4 months now.  I initially purchased one of the power keyboards with my tablet which worked great at first.  Then the tablet stopped responding to tkeyboard.  I sent in the tablet for repairs and it was returned with a status "Not broken" or something like that.  The tablet still wouldn't respond to the keyboard, though.  thinking that the problem was most likely teh keyboard, I purchased another keyboard. (I really wanted the red one anyway).
At first, the tablet and keyboard was working just fine.  But two weeks later, the tablet started shutting off when connected to keyboard.  So here's the basic scenario.  If my tablet is docked in the keyboard, I won't turn on.  I've attempted to hold the power button down forcing a full shutdown, and then turn it on, but that doesn't work either.  If I remove the tablet from the keyboard, it still doesn't turn on.  But if I hold down the power button for approx 15 seconds, and then try to turn it on, it comes on without any problems.  Now, if I re-dock the tablet with the keyboard, it immediately shutdown.  As if it's going to sleep.  But once again, will not turn back on unless I repeat the remove and holding down the power button.
Is this a problem with the tablet, or the keyboard.
    Please help.
    thanks!!
    Steve

Yardi Systems supporter of Microsoft and creates program to run on IE. One such program is called Payscan. It allows users to scan Invoices and post into the system. After posting the image of such invoices are abailable for view, for that Yardi prompts to install GPI to view images. However Microsoft does not allow to run such programs in my Windows RT tablet. Is there a work around? The image could be exported as PDF and opened using Adobe, which is a waste of time and space constraints

  • Lumia 2520 Screen Jumping Problem

    Hi.
My Lumia 2520 (Bought in Jan 2014) keeps jumping back to the start screen even if I don't press the windows button. Problem started a few months ago and it is getting worse and worse. Sometimes it works without problems but every now and then it jumps back to start screen for several times (for example 20 times). It may jump back i.e. from IE, E-mail or Calendar. For example, during writing this message my device has jumped back to start screen (ans sometimes back to IE) for five times... When 'the jumping mode' is on moving the device seems to make the problem even worse. My device is up-to-date. Hardware problem / repair needed?
    Kind Regards, JR

    Hi, jrfin.
    Welcome to the forum!

  • When is the Lumia 2520 going to be back on sale in...

So I understand why the Lumia 2520 was withdrawn from the shelves, but isn't it time a modified charger was available?
Is there really nothing that can be said about when the product might be available again? Even a very rough guideline would be useful. Is it going to be days, weeks, months, years?

You need to contact Nokia UK directly to see what they say. Twitter is probably the best method for getting an answer out of them. They really have handled this very badly.
Personally i'd be looking at other tablets that run full Windows 8, not Windows 8RT as there's much more choice and they do a lot more. You may also want to see what Microsoft announce at their Surface event later today. With Microsoft buying Nokia's devices and services division the 2520 is probably going to be obsolete fairly quickly.

  • Lumia 2520: No battery sign

On my 2520 RT tablet it shows a red cross (not available) through the battery sign. The tablet works fine. However it should be nice to see how much power is remaining. I own this tablet since a week, and first the battery sign was available. It seems to appear (don't know for sure) after a windows update.
Does anyone how to solve this problem?

    Hi BolRob,
    Welcome to the forum.
You can try the solutions provided in this link: Lumia 2520 battery indicator issue. If that didn't work, we suggest doing the troubleshooting steps here: Nokia Lumia 2520 - Need help in fixing a problem?. We'll appreciate if you will update us with the outcome. Enjoy your day!
