Lumia 520 black software

I have updated my nokia lumia 520 to amber software update. Now i want to update for black software update. But i have not received any update notification for this update and when i searched manually, then also no update was found. What to do now....?

Hope you are checking as per what you see under settings-->about-->carrier... and
settings-->extras+info-->more info-->Manufacturer Name / Mobile Operator .. and not where you are residing / using the phone.
...and by changing 'Region' under 'settings' these will not change.
BTW, Even if its satisfying these conditions, you need to wait since the roll-out is in phases.
If you are in a hurry, try your luck with Nokia Care whether they can update the phone !!

  • Lumia 520 uninstall software update

    After update a network+, my phone usually lose signal(no network). Is it imposible to uninstall it?

    Once you install an update, you cannot uninstall it. I suggest you to take out your sim card, clean it with a soft cloth and put it back in. Also check if there's any other system app updates using the Lumia System Updater or SysApp Pusher and update if there's any. 
    And do not forget to restart your phone after any update, the updates should work without a phone restart, but sometimes restarting really helps. You may restart (soft reset) your phone by  pressing volume down and power keys for 10-15 seconds, until the phone vibrates. Or you may remove the battery.
    If these suggestions doesn't  solve the problem, you may try a Phone Reset (hard reset). Do not forget to backup your data before reset and please read Restore a backup to my phone topic before doing a hard reset.

    you can see that the Lumia Black update is indeed available for the Lumia 520. However, its roll-out is done in stages so you may not receive the update yourself for another week or so. please keep checking back every day on the phone itself to see if the update is there.

    Hello, I have a Nokia Lumia 520.2 (GoPhone)
    I am eagerly awaiting the black update as I have heard in may include support for my bluetooth keyboard I would very much like to use.
    I am still showing "Lumia Amber" and I am wondering if I am getting glitched out of an update.

    i flashed to this 059S2D1 RM-915 LIGHT SWAP ENG GLOBAL rom to get Internet Sharing working on my Straight Talk sim but if this rom wont receive updates that worries me a little bit.

    What connection did you use when you updated your phone? Is it cellular data connection or Wi-Fi? Have you tried contacting your operator about this? Try to remove and reinsert your SIM and then reboot your phone.     Hi, I  bought my lumia 520 mounth ago, and still I'm not able to get any update , no amber or black update.

    Product CODE: 059S0P5
    Mobile Operator : 000-GB
    I have tryied NSU(4.1.0) software and it also says that there is no updat for my model and current OS is 8.0.10211.204 up to date...

    I have a Nokia lumia 520,,,,,it has a problem in its earphone.... When i plug my earphone,,,,my lumia does not it.,,,after that when i play a mp3 it will starting with its loudspeaker,, that means my lumia doesn't support earphone...after a restart all programs regarding earphone will be solved.......( this occurs occasionally and i am using lumia black) .......please help me to find out the problem.....

  • Nokia Lumia 520 Error: Unable to find bootable opt...

    My Nokia Lumia 520 unexpectadly shut down and reebotted as i proceeded to pause my music. now the only reaction i reiceve from it is a black screen which says Error: Unable to find bootable option. Press any key to shut down.

    If you are pertaining to Lumia phones that has the Windows Phone 8.1 software, yes, those are supported by the Nokia Software Recovery Tool. You can verify this info here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-ph/mobile/support/product/lumia520/faq/?action=singleTopic&topic=FA14298.... If the recovery tool is installed on your computer & it's still not recognizing your phone, try to uninstall it and install again. By the way, have you tried coordinating this with a different Nokia Care Point for a second opinion?

  • WiFi connectivity issues on Lumia 520

    So recently my 520 has been having problems with connecting to the WiFi. The network shows up as connected but whenever I open IE or another app that uses WiFi it says that my phone is not connected. This is happening on all network that I have tried to connect to.
    Note - The power button had stopped working, and the screen kept freezing so I had sent it in to repair. I got it back a couple weeks ago. I also updated to Lumia Black the day before the problem started.

    Welccome to the forum! 
    You mentioned that the issue started after the Lumia Black update. Can you verify if the software is successfully installed by going to Settings > Extras + Info? Lumia Black should show there.  Try also to check if all system apps are updated by scanning the QR codes shown at this link: Nokia Windows Phone 8 App Updates.
    You also said that you have tried connecting the phone to different networks. Are they all secured Wi-Fi networks, or open ones? We suggest that you try connecting to different network types to further verify the cause of the issue. If you have administrator access to a Wi-Fi network, try to restart the router, and then connect your Lumia 520 first before other devices. Make sure that you're always within the Wi-Fi's coverage area. It may show that your phone is still connected though the data transfer is very weak.

    I have lumia 520. when i update Lumia Black  in my Setting some of the settings apps does not  work. when i click this its return back the settings. i can't update it . how can i update or reinstall it.

    I had the same problem with a feature. It showed share instead of update and I knew there was an update out there. 
    I turned my phone all the way off, let it sit for a minute of so and turned it back on. The update then showed up with the updater.

  • Update queries (Lumia 620 Black Update)

    Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone on here knew how long it should take between the update geting to the carrier and them pasiing on the update to the consumers?
    I ask because mysef and others  are STILL without the Update 3/Black update for the 620 ( in the UK), and are increasingly becoming annoyed (putting it lightly - don't want to get banned from the forum already) at this fact, especially since we know it is the carriers fault (I won't name and shame the carrier since it's in the link!)

    The link above shows the interactions that have been made between those of us waiting for the update, and those at my carrier. In short, on the 2nd April, the foum dudes passed it on to those who deal with the updates. 8 days later (10th April, 3 weeks ago), the next reply was that they were in the latter stages of testing, and should be out "within the next few weeks". There have been NO updates since, hint the fact we are getting increasingly annoyed.
    Surely, the fact they claim they were in the latter stages of testing 3 weeks ago mean we should have the update by now, especially since all other 620's in the UK had the update in March.

  • Timescale for firmware updates Lumia 520 ?

    Can anyone explain why there is such a varience in which the same update gets released either from a phone supplier or Nokia.
    For example I am with O2 in the UK. I asked about the Amber upgrade and the replies varied from "what is that I've never heard of it" to " We are not imformed of release dates so do not know" to a straight "no idea". to " keep checking in settings-phone-update"
    AT & T have been selling the Lumia 520 for some time and their version has  Windows Phone 8 build 10327 (GDR2) and Nokia’s Amber firmware update already on board.
    I can not see Amber for example being different in USA and UK or Swaziland for the same phone.
    So why such a delay

    There is a difference between a sim,free (factory unlocked/unbranded) device and a carrier released version.
    your challenge with updates when you have a carrier branded device is that the carrier usually has very few updates to devices. And, their firmware versions are different, which include bloatware.
    it is either software they are paid to put in devices, or their own renditions of billing, WiFi calling, mapping, etc stuff. So, before they do any updates of firmware and push it out, they have to do their own version of QC whereas factory unlocked devices get updates when ever the phone manufacturer releases them, which is usually more often.
    even,if you get your device unlocked, it will still require that the carrier push the update. So the care reps are usually going to very uninformed unless they truly are involved in the tech side and have genuine interest to learn more. From a corporate perspective, they usually are scripted and clueless, which for the companies sake helps them not to create anymore confusion with the customer base then already is there.
    as for the varients of,different countries, good to think about the regulations each country has, as well as some of the functionality of the device. Some countries don't have 3 or 4g service, or MMS is different, or there are frequency differences or regulations on what can be done. This goes far more deeper than just having the language available.
