Lumia 520 Cannot send or receive pictures

I am able to access the internet but cannot send or receive pictures on my Lumia 520. My phone provider has done a lot of work on this and is sure the phone settings are correct and it is not a network probem. The phone has the current update. Any ideas?

Hi, Aka123. Were you able to solve the MMS issue with your Lumia 520? If so, we'd appreciate you sharing how you fixed it. If no, check this link: Nokia Lumia 520 - Troubleshooter and try the workarounds listed. Are you also having issues with your SMS, voicemail, and calls? To verify, your phone has the official Lumia Cyan update, correct? To confirm, you should see 'Lumia Cyan' under Settings> extras+info. We look forward to your reply and welcome to our communtiy, BTW.

The thing is, before the update, I ALWAYS had my wifi on, and I had my mobile data off.  Worked flawlessly until the update.

  • My iPhone 4s cannot send or receive picture message

I cannot send or receive picture message

Had the same prob w/ pics not sending.  Spent hours on phone and finally got problem solved.  Hopefully this will help other people experiencing this problem.
First, go Settings, then select Phone.  Under "My number" it should say your current number.  If it doesn't (as it didn't in my case) call sprint (dial *2 on your phone).  Tell the sprint agent you would like your Name assigned to your number.
In my case, I had been added to an existing family plan.  I was assigned a random new cell phone number, but then later changed it to my old existing phone number from AT&T.  So if you are like me and brought your old cell phone number with you when you switched to Sprint, then this may be the issue.
When I was experiencing the problem with my pictures not sending, the wrong phone number was showing as my number on the phone (even though people could call and text me using my current number).

  • Cannot send nor receive pictures.

Okay, so my iChat currently does not allow me to send nor receive pictures. Every time I try to do so it comes up with a "proxy error." My connection is set to 443 so what's up?

    Hi,
It sound like you are trying to do File Transfers over a Jabber account.
Most Likely you are going to have to use a third Party app like Psi and enable the Proxy65 Jabber server item on their Server.
This pic is about Service Discovery on the Jabber.me.uk server

If you do the same thing with a Googletalk ID then there is little info and you cannot change the settings  (The issue is at the server end and you cannot change it with this app)

  • Updated my 3GS to 6.0.1 now I cannot send or receive picture text unless I'm wi-fi with I message. ??

Updated my iPhone 3GS to 6.0.1 and now can't send or receive picture messages unless using wi-fi iMessage. ???

Notify your carrier.  Make sure MMS is provisioned for your account.  Also be sure it's enabled in your setting menu

  • Cannot send or receive pictures from iPhone 5c

I am unable to send or receive picture messages from my iphone 5c

    Two things:
    1.  Settings > Messages > MMS Messaging must be "On".
    2.  Your cellular carrier account must be set up to send/receive MMS (may well cost extra).

  • Cannot send or receive picture or video messages

    Hello!
My LG dare is not able to send or receive picture or text messages.  Just wondering if anyone else has had this trouble, and if there is a way to fix it.  I've tried programming the phone with *228 with no luck.  It is a preowned phone, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.  Thanks.

    Hello Keeblergirl,
I apologize for the delayed response. I can imagine the frustration that not being able to message can cause. At this time has your messaging capability been restored? Are you receiving a specific error message when trying to send the messages? Have your voice services been working as normal? Do you typically use data on this device? Does the web browser or Media Center work? How long have you had the device? Does it show any signs of physical or liquid damage? I would like to make sure that you have found a resolution to this concern. If needed, please PM me your name and cell number and we can work to get you messaging! I look forward to hearing from you.

  • IPod touch 4G cannot send, only receive picture messages

As the title says.  I am able to send and receive normal messages, am connected to wifi, etc.  The only function that is not working is the ability to SEND picture messages.  I am able to receive them just fine - after yet another picture message failed, I had a friend send me a test picture, and immediately after successfully receiving it, I attempted to resend - failure, again.  It also has been taking up to a couple minutes for the "!" failed notification to appear on the messages.
Things I have tried already today:
    - "renew lease" on wifi
    - toggled iMessages on and off
    - reset my iPod
    - upgraded to iOS 6.1.3 (from 6.0.1; hadn't seen a need to since I first got the iPod)
All with no success.  It stopped working sometime between June 5th and June 10th.  It is driving me absolutely MAD and I cannot find any helpful and recent information.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • I cannot send or receive pictures via iMessage data roaming enable 3G and cellular data all switched on

I Cannot send pictures or receive them via iMessage cella data ,data roaming and 3G all switched on

    Hello there, Blackpool1.
The following Knowledge Base article offers some great, in-depth steps for troubleshooting issues with sending MMS type messages with your iPhone:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2755
Start with these steps and then move down from there if the issue persists:
If you can't send and receive MMS
You will need these to send and receive MMS:
    An iPhone 3G or later
    iOS 3.1 or later
A cellular data connection (MMS isn't available if you're using only Wi-Fi)
A domestic MMS plan from your cellular provider. You might need an international messaging plan to send MMS to an international contact (Contact your carrier for more information.)
A roaming MMS when using a cellular provider's network that is different from your billing cellular provider's network (Learn more about roaming and contact your carrier for more information.)
To resolve issues with sending and receiving MMS, follow these steps
Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
Go to Settings > Messages and turn MMS Messaging on.
Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data on.
Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Data Roaming on if you're roaming on a cellular provider network that is different from your billing provider's network.
Make sure that you have a cellular data connection in the status bar of your iPhone.
Go to Settings and turn Wi-Fi off. Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify that you have a data connection. Turn Wi-Fi back on to continue using Wi-Fi for other features. If your cellular data connection isn't available, follow these steps.
Make sure that you can send and receive SMS. If you can't send and receive SMS, see the "Issues with sending and receiving SMS" section, above. MMS might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports.
    Restart your iPhone.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
Remove your SIM card and insert it again.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Pedro.

  • Cannot send or receive picture, video, or voice messages?

About a year ago my parents disabled mobile web from my phone to save money. After that, I was no longer able to send or receive multimedia messages--I have an enV3. Does mobile web include multimedia applications, or is that texting only? Would we have to pay extra in order to get it back, without me using Mobile Web? I'd really like to have picture and video messaging back..
I'm not sure about our plan but it's a family plan and I have about 1,500 texts, I believe.

What likely happened is a total data block was put on the phone. You can remove the total block and then selectively block Mobile Web, application downloads, etc.
Call customer service (or have your parents do so; you may not have authority to make changes) and tell them you want to block web access but still allow MMS messaging.

  • I Can't Send Or Receive Pictures On My Phone.

I cannot send or receive pictures on my phone. I do not have internet on my phone but I never did and didn't have this problem until now. Someone please help me ASAP! (:

pictures = data = needing a data plan.
BlackBerrys require the BlackBerry Data Plan for data, such as MMS messages.
On Tmobile, you might call them and see if the Tmobile BlackBerry "Feature Enabler" will enable MMS picture messaging. I don't recall if it will, but they will know.

  • Cannot send or receive pic messages (lg cosmos)

my husband and i both have lg cosmos phones.  we're on vacation (still in the US) and cannot send or receive picture messages all of a sudden.  we can send and receive TEXT messages, just not picture messages.  the same thing happened to my mom when she was here (she has a samsung).  is it just the area we're in or what?  why can we send texts and not pic messages???

Check your signal and type of coverage... if it's 1X then all you have is text messages; if it says 3G then pics (which actually use a data connection, but count as text messages) are OK.  if it says Extended coverage or Extended network or Roaming, then pics won't go until you reach an area where there is a strong enough DATA signal to send/receive pics.

I cannot send or receive group text messages and picture messages / MMS.  The settings on Messages are already set to receive group texts but it does not help. What should I do?

Wow, 1yerdua. That's far too long to be having this messaging trouble. We want to find the resolution fast! If you turn off your Lumia's WiFi (Menu > Settings > WiFi), are you still able to access data-oriented applications like Internet Explorer? Have you been to other areas of the state/country and experienced the same trouble?

  • My iPhone 4S has stopped receiving iMessages, cannot send/load any pictures over whatsapp, cannot join the wifi in my house anymore. What has happened to my iPhone i haven't made any changes?

My iPhone 4S has stopped receiving/sending iMessages, cannot send/load any pictures over whatsapp and cannot join the wifi in my house anymore.
Essentially all the things I use my phone for have now stopped working. I constantly have 3G connected (even though i dont want to use it, i want to connect to the wifi in my house) but still when I try to download/ send a picture over whatsapp it comes up with an error message saying the server is unverified, or something equally ridiculous.
I deleted the app so i could reinstall it (as if that would help), but the app store is started saying "unable to connect", despite 3G, so that bright idea died out pretty sharpish.
Whenever i try to turn on iMessage, it asks for my Apple ID password, which I know I've typed in correctly because I reset the **** thing about 4 times due to it apparently being "incorrect". Even so, it repeatedly asks for the password over and over as soon as I've entered it, saying it was "unable to connect" before a final "incorrect password" message pops up just to add an extra smack of annoyance.
I haven't changed a single setting on my iPhone whatsoever. It just suddenly started spiralling into what is now £28/month-worth of pure frustration.
I don't even have any music or photos on it as I had to free up 3.5GB of space on the **** thing to allow it to update, naively thinking that would solve the problem, but alas it did not.
I have seen a few questions posted like this one, usually just one of the problems I have, but I seem to have rounded up the whole bunch (lucky me). None of the previously posted questions have received any replies.
Can some please help me! Honestly, if i see another "unable to..." or "unverified source" pop up again I'll probably smash the thing against the side of my house.
    Cheers.

On your iPad, go to [Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings] Once that is done, re-connect your iPad to your wifi network.
