Lumia 520 internal storage shows 'media-2gb' but t...

I have this lumia 520 and yesterday after watching hoards of videos on youtube i discovered in storage check that media and files has reached 2.6 gb and i don't know how! as I have an 8 gb micro sd for storing media and internal memory has no media. now I m left with only 2 gb of free space in internal memory. what is happening? and yes! i do not download videos from youtube. here is a pic attached.

I noted from your screenshot that you are using the built-in storage check app but you can install the Lumia storage check app from Beta labs that also allows you to move map data from the internal storage to an SD card to free up a bit more space.

You cannot install apps on SD card, but you can move photos, videos and music files to SD card. Select SD card from Settings->Phone storage, then copy your files to SD card using your PC.

Lumia 520, message storage?

Hi there,
I am thinking of getting a Lumia 520 ,but a rather strange question I have is, around how many messages can the phone store at any one time? I do a lot of texting throughout the day, my current phone holds about 1000 messages, but I find that its just a pain having to sort through all those messages to delete them (yes I know, I could just delete them all ). I am looking for a...cheapish but yet decent and tough phone, that can withstand a few minor bangs etc.
I mostly use my current phone for texting,and photos which is about it but as Im upgrading, I would like to get a phone that has a decent camera (my current, has a 2MP I think it is), good for checking emails on, perhaps playing games, checking things up on google etc. Would this be a good phone for me does anyone think? or would another suit my needs better?

Timeline thumbnails show media offline, but media is not offline.

Short version: I opened a project today that I had been working on for a long time. Some of the thumbnails in one of my timelines show up as the red "Media off-line" image. But the media is not off-line. I can play the clips just fine. Everything else seems (more or less -- see below) normal except for a handful of these off-line thumbnails. It's not a disaster, but it makes it hard to find my way around. And I'm worried that it's a sign of something more serious wrong under the surface.
Long version: I'm using an older Macbook Pro with an ESATA expresscard. My media is all on external ESATA drives. My project file is on the Macbook's internal hard drive.
I use my Macbook as a desktop machine. The computer sits on a dedicated shelf on my desk. My cat makes a habit of sleeping on top of the machine. (You can probably guess where this is going.) Most of the time this is not a problem, but about a week ago he decided to stretch in just the wrong way and pushed the expresscard out of its slot. After screaming and throwing the cat across the room, I saved the project file, remounted the disks, re-opened the project file, and breathed a big sigh of relief when everything seemed to be fine. I quit FCP again and put the project on hold for about a week.
Today I reopened the same project file and the trouble started. At first all the timeline thumbnails showed up as media-offline, even thought all indications were that it was on-line. In addition, all my audio and video renderings were gone. I re-did them, and after a while some of the thumbnails restored themselves as well. But not all of them.
All of which has me a little flustered.
Has anyone encountered anything like this before? Is there a way to force FCP to refresh the timeline thumbnails? It's hard to find my way around now that all the clips look the same.

i've experienced this before, but i can't really remember how i sorted it,
i may have deleted the thumbnails out of the scratch disc, or it may have been that i switched the timeline view to name only saved and closed down, then opened it up again and switched them back on to refresh
but i know on no refresh thumbnails button in fcp itself

Brightness Slider for Lumia 520 with cyan?

I officially updated my Lumia 520 to cyan and was searching for Brightness & Tint slider. Where is the Brightness & Tint slider under display setting? Has it been properly updated or I missed out something? I saw this feature in Lumia 630 which was running cyan update.

Thank you for your reply, as you mentioned I checked under Settings > Display and I got 3 option under it, Sunlight readability, Battery saver brightness, and Colour profile, under Colour profile > Colour temperature & Colour saturation Sliders. My all system apps are up to date including display app, but I am not getting Brightness profile and tint option under it. Is the brightness profile option available to Lumia 520? If yes then why my lumia 520 doesn't show it? I have attached my Lumia 520 display setting screenshots, just have a look.

How to connect Lumia 520 to Zune

i've recently bought a new nokia lumia 520.
the phone is amazing!
On my pc i have windows xp service pack 3
i installed zune and connected the mobile to pc but zune is not detecting it.
how do i connect the 520 to zune?

you don't use zune for wp8.
just connect your device with a usb cable to your pc and it should auto--detect, then auto-install the drivers and then you can just go to "My Computer" and you will see "Lumia 520"
it will show up as a drive and you can just drag and drop mp3/docs/etc to your device now.

Lenovo s920 internal storage problems

hi, i bought a lenovo s920 3 months ago, and i found that the internal storage is getting lower and lower. I tried uninstalling the apps that I have installed previously, the internal storage did move up, but not long after that, the internal storage is running low again. Further, i just note that when i clear my mobile browser cache, the internal storage reduces even more instead of increasing (which should not be the case). I have just lost 5mb of internal storage after i cleared the cache for the browser. May i know why is that so? and what is eating up the internal storage even though i have uninstalled most of the apps? I used the browser to surf the web very frequently, does this reduces my internal storage as well, despite that i have cleared all the cache and data? I would be grateful if someone could provide with a solution to free the internal storage as i have only 15mb internal storage left. thank you.

I doubt that the lenovo guys ever come on as I have never seen them before. Anyway I have this phone as well as the 32gb SD card but my phone was one of the earlier batch with only 2GB internal storage, so I have even worse problems faced by those with the newer S920 with 4GB internal storage. Do follow the steps of what was mention earlier by ong6633- install app cache cleaner , use it frequently
- uninstall some apps which never use , eg:google news stand , google play books ( which i never use) , the ram will increased to 100mb++ , so you manage to update apps at this time...
-the google news stand and play book will auto update again because it is a default android apps.
-manually clean cache, system> setting>apps>choose apps which data you dun need > clear data.. then it will release some ram. Also on the settings, Apps "Move to External Storage" for everything possible. Some Apps dont allow you to do so and you cant uninstall them. So for those apps that you dont use and cant be uninstalled (example Google Play Books, Google XXXX) - Uninstall updates and clear data & cache. It will free up some space.

3G Network Connectivity problem on lumia 520

I have been using lumia 520 since the last 10 days but since the last few days once I switch the data connection to off,then switch it back again later I am only able to recieve 2G connectivity eventhough I switched the high connection speed to 3G.After 5-6 attempts by turning high connection speed from 2g to 3g I am able to recieve 3G but it again changes to 2G with the E symbol after sometime.Also my network is always on the lower side once I switch on 3G data connection.I have cut my SIM to MICRO SIM.Please help me with this issue.

You have to contact your operator for you to get a microSIM card. The possible cause of the issue is that you're not using an original microSIM card. Also, cutting your standard SIM to microSIM is not advisable as using it to your phone may damage the internal parts of the phone.

Amber update is not working in my lumia 520

i have installed new update in my lumia 520 .it installed fully and successfully but i cannot find of new features in my phone !!?? features like call+sms filter ,radio and so on.., how can i solve this problem.

Perhaps a more helpful answer is to install "Lumia System Updater". That app will allow you to check and update all the system apps on your phone (such as "extras+info", "about" etc.) that are required for the Amber/GDR2 update to be "seen".

Javascript disabled on my nokia lumia 520

I have just bought a Nokia lumia 520 and downloaded the EBAY app but can use it properly when i try to reply to messages it all is says is JavaScript disabled you must enable it but i havnt got a clue how to do it

The official eBay app? I haven’t tried myself, however, this is a bug in the app itself, additionally the error message is misleading. I would contact their support. Did you do that, already?

Sequence Shows Media Pending when clips are linked

Hi Everyone,
I have a sequence that includes some nested sequences in the timeline.
When I load up the project, the nested sequence clips show "media pending." When I open up the sequences that are nested, the clips in that sequence also show media pending, but when I click on the clips and open them in the source window, they are available and I see the picture.
So the bottomline is that the source video is linked in the project but somehow during the process of nesting these sequences something breaks down and it gives me the media pending.
Any help would be appreciated!

The source footage is 5D and 7D
I also have some other sources of video such as pro-res material
I am also working with some sequences that are used as clips and turned into multi-camera clips.

I'm using a PC, Pentium 4, single core processor, hyperthreaded. A 500 series Pentium. FSB 800MHz. DDR2 at 566 MHz. I'm using Windows XP, SP3. Your PC looks to be very new -- I don't think hardware has any connection to this bug. Maybe people on Macs don't see this, but for PC's, it will come and go. I haven't tried your settings yet. I've been so frustrated by Premiero Pro CS4 that I've stopped using it.
I don't blame Adobe's R&D engineers for this. Management saw an economic slowdown coming, and obviously made the decision to do a fast release and get the revenue in. And hoped they could follow up soon enough with bug fixes to keep from losing too many customers.
The reputation they have now gotten for themselves is now so severely damaged, I think they are too late to recover from this debacle. It will take them a good 2 or 3 future releases, maybe by CS6, before they can restore goodwill from their customer base.
I didn't post an update, but a couple days ago, I found the problem would go away sometimes. Restarting the computer, then relaunching PrPro CS4 would sometimes get me to where the yellow "media pending" problem on rendered segments would not occur.

at my location my lumia 520 doesn't get 3g network. but my friend's android gets good 3g coverage. why is this happening...

Plug iphone 4S in PC with Win 7 showing empty DCIM folder, but up one level see the Internal storage with multi tens GB occupied. how to fix? thx

2/ window explorer open and see "Apple iPhone" icon and clicked
3/ see internal storage icon telling me GBs of ize used
4/ click in and see DCIM folder

Are there pictures in your camera roll? Windows does not handle viewing the iPhone in Explorer very well. It will give you an idea of how much space is being utilized in the phone, but it is not really that accurate. You do not have access to anything else via Explorer except photos that are in the Camera Roll. No other files can be accessed and you cannot add files to the phone via Explorer.

It is possible to flash 2GB A1 version to the newest ICS from OTA .... but .... after that we have only 240 MB internal storage available. Is there any fix for that possible ?
And please add same feature as in Cyanogenmod 7 to switch mount points for internal sd and external sd drives ....

I wouldn't install it unless you think you can get all the apps you want in 240mb. HC/ICS forces apps to use internal memory. They create an "internal SD" that is really just a folder on the internal memory.

My internal storage is showing as near full on windows vista!

Plugged iPhone 4s into laptop yesterday and in my computer, i clicked on iphone and showed my internal storage was near full.
I have the latest itunes and using windows vista.
I imported all my photos and videos and now my phone shows having 9gb free, but my laptop still showing the internal memory is nearly full!
Any idea how to get my laptop to see I have cleared off my iphone?
