Lumia 520,It get's hot

Hi Nokia,I own a Nokia Lumia 520 and now in summer I have problem with my device.When I'm charging It and play games at the same time or sometimes just play It get's really hot the upper spot from the camera.
I read that for safety reasons It will close the open apps or it will reboot.I'm worry about that because I'm afraid that it will burn and have to buy a new one.Also at Nokia's facebook page they said that it is normal to get hot but if it gets really hot they said that I had to check it if there is any problem or I can discusses it here.

As long as it cools down after you stop playing games or other power-intensive activities it should be OK. After all you are holding the equivalent of small computer which does not have the benefit of a cooling fan and can only dissipate heat through the handset case.

I don't see the difference. But I understand the marketing idea, to sell the same hardware with different prices and some software restriction.
well, they both use the same CPU (Qualcomm Snapdragon s4 Plus MSM8227), so does Sony Xperia M and Lumia 720 but can u also say that Xperia has same hardware as L520?

Each time I try to download WatsApp or BBM on my Lumia 520 I get d msg dat the Microsoft account services is not available at d moment. What should I do? I tried to log in but yet could not.

Welcome to the Microsoft Mobile Community.
Does it happen regardless the connection you are using? Try checking the date and time of your phone if these are set correctly. Also, check your account details by going to account.live.com. After that, tap and hold your Microsoft Account, and select Sync. If it is still the same, try rebooting your phone by pressing and holding the volume down and the power keys for 10 to 15 seconds. Release and your phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to set the date and time again. Switch Set automatically to Off, and tap Time zone. Check if it is set correctly. Observe if the issue will still persists.

Lumia 520 music player gets stopped with headphone...

Hi folks
I have a problem with my nokia lumia 520. When I am playing music with my headphones the music gets paused. It has been happening for the last week. It works fine on speakers but not with headphones. I have tried several headphones, did a soft-reset, uninstalled nokia music, but nothing is working so far. Phone wasn´t crashed or dropped to the floor, it is happening for no apparent reason. Any ideas?

Hi, Sedejaballevar. What's the model of your headphone & the other headphones you've tested with your Lumia 520? Does the issue happen when transitioning from one song to another or randomly during a song? Are your songs from your phone memory, memory card, offline mix or through online source (online mix)? Lumia 520. How to get it to recognize my old numbe...

Hi. I recently bought a Lumia 520 and a new SIM only contract from a new supplier. I had my old number transferred over to the new network from my old. However, my 520 still shows the number of the SIM I was supplied with even though I receive calls on my old number. How can I fix this?

Lumia 535 getting very hot while playing basic

Hi I have been using Lumia 535 for about 2 months and now its getting very hot while playing basic games like subway surfer etc. for atleast 10 to 15 minutes, it was alright before but the problem started couple of days back.

Hello, GyaniT. Rebooting your phone would help the issue. Note that this is normal for the phone to feel warm. For example, when you are using multiple high-performing apps, listening to music for an extended time, or when it is charging. To avoid getting too warm and to protect itself, it may automatically slow down, close apps and, if necessary, switch itself off. Let us know if you have any clarification.

Nokia Lumia 520 "Find my Phone"

I cannot get the find my Phone functionality working consistently on my Nokia Lumia 520.
I have a data and Wifi connection.
I am not in airplane mode.
I have SMS functionality.
Location Services are On.
Services/Find my Phone is Off. When I slide the option to On, it remains off when I go back into settings!
Any ideas what I am doing wrong?

Timescale for firmware updates Lumia 520 ?

Can anyone explain why there is such a varience in which the same update gets released either from a phone supplier or Nokia.
For example I am with O2 in the UK. I asked about the Amber upgrade and the replies varied from "what is that I've never heard of it" to " We are not imformed of release dates so do not know" to a straight "no idea". to " keep checking in settings-phone-update"
AT & T have been selling the Lumia 520 for some time and their version has Windows Phone 8 build 10327 (GDR2) and Nokia’s Amber firmware update already on board.
I can not see Amber for example being different in USA and UK or Swaziland for the same phone.
So why such a delay

There is a difference between a sim,free (factory unlocked/unbranded) device and a carrier released version.
your challenge with updates when you have a carrier branded device is that the carrier usually has very few updates to devices. And, their firmware versions are different, which include bloatware.
it is either software they are paid to put in devices, or their own renditions of billing, WiFi calling, mapping, etc stuff. So, before they do any updates of firmware and push it out, they have to do their own version of QC whereas factory unlocked devices get updates when ever the phone manufacturer releases them, which is usually more often.
even,if you get your device unlocked, it will still require that the carrier push the update. So the care reps are usually going to very uninformed unless they truly are involved in the tech side and have genuine interest to learn more. From a corporate perspective, they usually are scripted and clueless, which for the companies sake helps them not to create anymore confusion with the customer base then already is there.
as for the varients of,different countries, good to think about the regulations each country has, as well as some of the functionality of the device. Some countries don't have 3 or 4g service, or MMS is different, or there are frequency differences or regulations on what can be done. This goes far more deeper than just having the language available.

Nokia lumia 520 push notification problem with wha...

I have a Lumia 520, and i find that i do not receive push notifications for my whatsapp messages. I have to open the application before the messages come through. I would like to know how to correct this. I have checked all my settings.

On a HTC-forum I saw the next solution, and it works also for Nokia Lumia! That means it is a Microsoft Issue!
1) Unpin Windows store from start
2) ERASE Internet Explorer History
3) ADD new language to the keyboard (Settings-->keyboard-->add keyboards
(CHOOSE A LANGUAGE THAT REQUIRE DOWNLOAD)
4) When downloading is finished, it will ask to restart and install
5) After installation and restart do the following;
A) UNINSTALL WHATSAPP
B) REINSTALL WHATSAPP (you can get conversation history back when asked, so no problem)
After this the push function works, but there is still a delay up to 10 minutes! So when you test, be patient.
NO BETTER PRESSURE MEDIUM THAN ANTI ADVERTISING SO AFTER THIS EXPEDITION PLEASE CHANGE YOUR STATUS TEXT TO:
USING WINDOWS; THAT MEANS DELAY UP TO 10 MINUTES
When all Window Phone users display that message, Microsoft has to come with a final solution!

Lumia 520 won't boot + Charging looks weird

Hi,
My 10 days old Lumia 520 turned off suddenlt in a middle of a call.
Since then, It doesn't boot.
When I plug in a charger, it shows a red a color inside the battery animation.
I tried to remove battery/ Sim / etc.
Also tried the "Power + volume down" hot key- didn't help.
What can I do?

Hope you are trying the Reset correctly ..Press Power + Volume(down) keys until the phone vibrates (about 8-10 seconds).
If nothing works, Nokia Care is the solution

Lumia 520 : No new features added after amber upda...

I updated my Lumia 520 through OTA. After the process I could not find any new features and the about section does not show "Amber".
What should I do?

The 'Amber' version is found in Settings > extras+info and make sure you get the additional apps required which you can all find HERE

Lumia 520 weird reboots

Hey guys,
my Lumia 520 started acting weird. It randomly reboots but only while locked and idling. While I keep it busy (ppt presentations, surfing the net, music, playing games...) it doesn't reboot.
And when it reboots it sometimes wakes up in airplane mode, and that can't be turned off I need to reboot it to get it out of airplane mode.
I did a hard reset and recovered it via nokia recovery tools, same behaviour persists.
Anyone got an idea what I could do. I can't take it to a repair shop cause it won't be done in time (I'm off to an exchange semester in 10 days, will be on the other side of Europe by the time any shop could fix it around here).
I mostly use it as a testing device, deploying apps to test on 512 MB devices, but it's still annoying seeing it restart randomly once in a while.

Probability is low.. but still try putting a paper packing in the Battery compartment to eliminate 'lose contacts' issue.

Nokia lumia 520 screen zooms in too much

I purchased Lumia 520 about a week ago but after two three days the problem started. The lock screen zooms in so much that it is impossible to attend any incoming call also it is impossible to see the incoming number's digits because they are so much zoomed in that they just don't fit on to the screen. Everytime this problem occurs,I simply restart the phone and it gets fixed up but I can't do this everytime ad this is very inconvenient to. Please help me to get rid of this piece of junk.

There is a very simple solution to this problem and explains why my phone screen is always enlarging. Instead of restarting the phone, which I hated doing all the time, simply double tap the phone using 2 fingers in the middle of the screen. I guarantee this will work and will return your screen back to it's normal size. I hope this helps!
