Lumia 520 weird reboots

Hey guys,
my Lumia 520 started acting weird. It randomly reboots but only while locked and idling. While I keep it busy (ppt presentations, surfing the net, music, playing games...) it doesn't reboot.
And when it reboots it sometimes wakes up in airplane mode, and that can't be turned off I need to reboot it to get it out of airplane mode.
I did a hard reset and recovered it via nokia recovery tools, same behaviour persists.
Anyone got an idea what I could do. I can't take it to a repair shop cause it won't be done in time (I'm off to an exchange semester in 10 days, will be on the other side of Europe by the time any shop could fix it around here).
I mostly use it as a testing device, deploying apps to test on 512 MB devices, but it's still annoying seeing it restart randomly once in a while.

Probability is low.. but still try putting a paper packing in the Battery compartment to eliminate 'lose contacts' issue.

I recently bought the Nokia lumia 520 and am disappointed that it doesn't have 1gb ram so i cant play games like fifa (my fav) but i heard that there was going to be a Nokia lumia 520 reboot where it will change from 512mb ram to 1gb, is it true and when will it happen?

It's already happened, the model with 1GB ram is called the Lumia 525 and it's already on sale in some countries. If it's not yet available in your country you will need to contact a retailer or Nokia directly in your country for more information.

My Lumia 520 had a problem with push notification system,,,,,how do I reboot the phone?

Simply switch the phone 'off' and 'on' ..or a Soft Reset : Press and hold Power + Volume(down) keys until the phone vibrates (about 8-10 seconds).

Lumia 520 rebooting several times a day

I have a Lumia 520 that asks for the SIM PIN several times a day. I noticed in app System Information by Eyjo that when that happens, the operating time is very low. I never witnessed it but I assume it rebooted.
What can I do? Thanks.

Confirm that the Battery contacts are not loose .. Put a paper packing along with the Battery to rule out this possibility.
Other major reason for this to happen is a faulty SIM. If your SIM is old or cut from a regular SIM, get one which is a ready Micro SIM.

Lumia 520 won't boot + Charging looks weird

Hi,
My 10 days old Lumia 520 turned off suddenlt in a middle of a call.
Since then, It doesn't boot.
When I plug in a charger, it shows a red a color inside the battery animation.
I tried to remove battery/ Sim / etc.
Also tried the "Power + volume down" hot key- didn't help.
What can I do?

Hope you are trying the Reset correctly ..Press Power + Volume(down) keys until the phone vibrates (about 8-10 seconds).
If nothing works, Nokia Care is the solution

Problem with internet in Lumia 520

I bought my Lumia 520 few days back. I use wifi connection of BSNL BB. It was working fine these days. But now what ever the address i type in IE it opens the webpage "Georgia Pacific" and none other apps installed could use the internet. please help me to solve this issue. I have attached the screenshot.

Thank you for the information you have provided. You may also try checking if all the system apps are updated. Store>...>settings>check for updates. Try rebooting it by pressing and holding the power and the volume down keys simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.

Lumia 520,It get's hot

Hi Nokia,I own a Nokia Lumia 520 and now in summer I have problem with my device.When I'm charging It and play games at the same time or sometimes just play It get's really hot the upper spot from the camera.
I read that for safety reasons It will close the open apps or it will reboot.I'm worry about that because I'm afraid that it will burn and have to buy a new one.Also at Nokia's facebook page they said that it is normal to get hot but if it gets really hot they said that I had to check it if there is any problem or I can discusses it here.

As long as it cools down after you stop playing games or other power-intensive activities it should be OK. After all you are holding the equivalent of small computer which does not have the benefit of a cooling fan and can only dissipate heat through the handset case.

Lumia 520 Bluetooth Stutter

I am an IT Pro with numerous users with mobile devices. I recently started purchasing Lumia 520s as a replacement phone when users break their existing phones. I handed out three last week and all three users describe the same problem when using their device paired with their car audio system. Each user has a distinct vehicle with a different connectivity system.
The Lumia pair successfully with the car audio system and works properly for some amount of time. Then seemingly without warning when they are on a call (during or at the beginning) the phone audio begins to violently stutter. It cuts in and out rapidly (~ twice per second) to the point where audio is unintelligible. The only solution is to reboot the phone or turn bluetooth off/on.
All three users seem to be on the latest software release. I am very puzzled because of the consistency of the issue, but I can find no consistent chatter of this issue on the Internet and that seems odd to me given the statistics that I am experiencing.
Any thoughts?

have you tried performing a soft reset? if that does not work, then you may need to perform a hard reset, and failing that, a trip to Nokia Care is in order.

Wallpaper Lumia 520

Good afternoon, my name is Bruno, I got a Lumia 520, after the last update Lumia Black, I can not insert my photos or any wallpaper on the main screen to download apps thought could enter them on my smartphone, but accused the application need to upgrade
to windows 8.1, tried the update and the same application, accused the same request, I wonder if some limitation because my device there is the entry model or whether I have to wait for the final update?

When did the problem start to happen? Did something happen to your phone prior to this concern? Have you tried removing the back cover and battery and putting it back in? Is your phone's software up-to-date? When was the last time that you have charged your phone? Is there any charging indicator whenever the phone is connected to the charger.
Charge the phone first until it gets enough battery then try rebooting the phone again by pressing and holding both the 'volume down' and 'power key' until the phone vibrates. You may try removing the battery, put it back in and make sure that the back cover is properly inserted. Try to use different battery and charger to further isolate the case.
If the above troubleshooting will not work, then you may consider visiting the nearest Care point in your place to have your phone evaluated.

Nokia Lumia 520 saying 'incorrect password' after ...

I downloaded the 'Mobile accessibility' app yesterday, it required a reboot and i agreed . After that i entered my password as usual but it say ' incorrect password'
I kept on trying and it said ''try again in 2 minutes'' and i did. But it said it's incorrect and i must try again in 4 minutes. I then took out the battery and put it band. And now it says '' try again in 12 312 minutes''.
Im using a Nokia Lumia 520, please help! What must i do?

The app requires diffferent instructions to operate.
You need to double-tap the numbers. So if your PIN is 1234 you need to type 11223344.

Lumia 520 hangs on regular basis and needs battery...

It's a quite new phone and not much installed on it, however a few days ago it started to hang on a daily basis. When it hangs nothing can be done, no button works or screen and the phone become basically useless. battery must be removed in order to reboot it.
is there any known issue with the lumia 520 or would that be my phones problem warranty covered?

have you tried to hard format the device through the settings?
if it still continues to do this after a hard format, then i would bring it in...frozen and request a replacement device, especially if you just purchased this device. you should not have to deal with this issue if it is that new.

Calender not opening in lumia 520

Calender is not opening after 8.1 update in Lumia 520. And no current events are displayed when the phone is in locked mode .

Have you tried rebooting the phone by pressing and holding the Power and Volume Down keys simultaneously for 10-15 seconds. Release and the phone will restart. After this operation, you may need to set the date and time on the phone. If the problem persists, you may try performing a full reset on the phone by going to settings> about> reset device. Note that this will delete all the information saved on your phone, make sure to make a backup by going to Settings> backup.

What connection did you use when you updated your phone? Is it cellular data connection or Wi-Fi? Have you tried contacting your operator about this? Try to remove and reinsert your SIM and then reboot your phone. Can not turn on Nokia Lumia 520 after Microsoft up...

Hi, I've got Nokia Lumia 520 with Windows Phone 8
before yesterday Microsoft update appeared on display and wanted me to instal. So I clicked on "instal" button and after that there was "restarting..." on the display for a while and phone went off. Since that I can't turn on my phone. I tried keep it on charger for a long time, I tried take off battery for a long time, I tried to hold all buttons combinations, but my phone is still dead. Do you have some advises or there is only one option to send that to Nokia for service?

First try rebooting by ressing and holding the vol down + power button for around 10 seconds. If it works, the phone should vibrate and restart. If this does not work you could try hard resetting, instructions as per link below. Faiuling that, you will need to get it to your local Nokia Care Point.
