    Future is here. where ????
help me if you can. anyway am not going to stay with nokia and wp.

Hi, vaissocial. Sorry to learn about your experience in updating your phone. Let's try to recover your phone through the following troubleshooting steps:
    1. Hardware Reset
Note: All information on your phone will be deleted and anything that has not been backed up will be lost during this process. If you cannot access your phone's menu, unfortunately you will not be able to backup any data.
    a. Make sure your phone is powered off.
    b. Press and hold the volume down button.
    c. Press the power button until the phone vibrates, then release the power button.
    d. Keep the volume down button held until you see an '!' on the screen, then release the volume down button.
When the ! appears, press the following buttons in order:
    volume up
    volume down
    power
    volume down
You should see rotating gears on your screen for around 5 minute and its display will then turn blank for 30 seconds while your phone restarts. It will take several minutes for it to restart. Once it has restarted, you will need to follow the on-screen instructions and complete the initial set-up process on your phone.
    2. If the issue remains, we suggest recovering your phone's software using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool. For more information, please check this link: http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/mobile/support/faq/?action=singleTopic&topic=FA142987.
BTW, the link is from the Nokia UK website. For future reference, please refer to your local Nokia website. Keep us posted with the outcome.

  • Lumia 620 can't connect to internet after system u...

I have a brand new Nokia Lumia 620, I've only had it for about a month. I saw there was a new system update this past Saturday, so I updated my phone. With the update came Data Sense, the option to block numbers from calling/texting me, and some other new options in the Settings menu. However I've noticed that I can't connect to the internet though my data plan anymore. I have 500 MB included on my plan and suddenly I can't use it. Connecting though wi-fi works fine. I looked through settings, it says my 3G connection is on and everything. I don't really know what to do.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Next thing to try involves a little more work. You need to contact your network and get the apn settings. Once you have the settings, goto Settings>Access points>+, then set up access point using the apn settings you got earlier.  Once you set it up, make sure to activate it and see if this works.

  • Problem in updating my Lumia 620 to black

    Hi,
Black update is available in my country for Lumia 620. But my phone is not getting black update. Whenever I check for update it says your phone is up to date.

@rdg4444  your phone is a Malaysia variant and after checking Availability in Asia Pacific, I can see that the 620 black update is not in distribution yet for Malaysia variant. The "Coming Soon" in availability page means that it's approved and will be in distribution in a few days.

  • Problem with the Update Nokia Lumia 620

The update was initialized on my Nokia Lumia 620 that I bought yesterday. When it started the phone was connected to WiFi. However, after 10 minutes I thought it stuck so I put the battery out and in again. But the update started again. The WiFi was still on. I waited an hour but nothing happened so again I put the battery out and in. Later the WiFi connection was shut down and the update still going. Later I tried to put the battery out and in all over again. I left the phone for the night, it lost all the battery so I plugged the charger in it and then the update started again! I have the 3G internet purchased, so when it's not on WiFi then it should be working. So my question is if the update is really going on (since 4am, that is almost 4 hours till now) or is something wrong. How long can it take on 3G in the situation I described? Will it ever end or should I go and return it to the service for them to fix it? Please help me! It's really urgent!

Update is possible thru' WiFi only.. It may take in excess of an hour for the whole update process to complete ..so once you start it (thru' WiFi) just leave it .. Don't go on removing the battery all the time ...Keep the phone on charging when you update. Additionally you may have settings-->WiFi--advanced ..and select 'Keep WiFi on when screen times out..' .
If you still get the problem visit Nokia Care to get it updated.

  • Lumia 620 fails to connect to car bluetooth - coll...

My lumia 620 did initially connect to my ford focus car audi/phone successfully.  However after about a week it failed to connect and I haven't been able to connect since. Defeats the object of hands-free!
Steps taken (which work with previous phones of various makes/models):
    Turn bluetooth on in car
    Turn on phone bluetooth connectivity
Car display finds my phone successfully and provides a PIN to enter in the phone
Phone bluetooth status says 'unable to connect to ford audio system' and times-out.
I've noticed that the 'tap to pair' message doesn't appear as it previously did and I can't find anywhere else to look for bluetooth settings.
A colleague who has an identical phone can successfully connect - it does show the 'tap to pair' message.
I have updated the ford audio system software and checked the other phone connects ok. I have also tried removing the phone battery several times but still no joy.
    Help please - thanks

  • Nokia Lumia 620 won't start up

    Hello everyone!
I'm writing you this because i have a problem with my Nokia Lumia 620.
Here's the story: I received the phone from italy as a gift, the phone wasn't new because my relatives actually bought the phone for them but they didn't like it because they had to create a microsoft account to import their contacts from sim, so they sent the phone to me.
When i received it, it was like brand new, out of the box, with stikers and all.
I made a reset, a microsoft account, then imported my contacts, installed some apps, played a lot with the phone untill i drained allmost all the batery(some battery low warnings appeared) but went to recharge it before it shut off, after this i went to sleep. I was woken up in the middle of the night because the phone started to vibrate, i went to see what was happening and when i tried to unlock the phone using the side buton i got no response because the phone was shut down. This is were all the trouble started, i realised there is a problem because when i started charging the battery, the phone was still on and there wasnt any way the phone couldve run out battery. I pressed the unlock button longer to turn on the phone, no luck, the on response was a slight vibration and a glimpse of white screen. The vibration and glimpse appear when  i have the at charging battery, if i pulld out the charger it wont respond to any comand. Because the phone was bought from another country, i cant go to a nokia store here, beacause the warranty is not valid.
From what i found on the internet the problem should be the motherboard, mainboard, etc.
What should i do? Sending the phone to italy is out of the question.
Sorry for the bad english, is not my first language, neither is italian.

    take a look at this
    http://www.nokia.com/ie-en/support/product/lumia620/troubleshooting/
if the battery is completely dead, just keep the phone connected to the charger, and wait about 30 mins before trying to turn it on
and fyi, if the charger is not powerful enough, lumia phones can drain the battery even if it's connected to the charger
also dont forget to take a look at this:

  • HELP - My new Nokia Lumia 620 won't boot up, even ...

I'm worried my Nokia Lumia 620 is a lemon, and the Care Centre will just keep taking it in for repair.  The reliability so far has been disappointing, especially as I was giving Nokia a try after a 10 year break, and also trying out Windows Mobile / Phone after a 6 year break.  I want to recommend it - I'm continually being asked by friends and colleagues what I think of my new phone.   Nokia will be smart to just replace it.
The details: my Nokia Lumia 620 won't boot up today (again).  It hung on boot  this morning with the Nokia Logo.  That was over 2 hours ago.  It had this problem during February, and I returned it twice for repair to the local Nokia Care Centre.  I guess I'll take it in again later today, but it just feels like a lemon handset so far.
    Timeline:
Handset purchased in local Nokia Store on Jan 29 2013 ( 7 weeks ago)
Handset gave "Exclamation-Mark-Screen-of-Death" on Feb 19 2013 (3 weeks old handset)
Local Nokia Store sent me to local Nokia Care Centre, handed in overnight "for repair"
Phone returned on Feb-20-2013 after software refresh.
Worked fine for 1 week.   Problem returned Feb 26 2013. (4 week old handset)
Nokia Care Centre "replaced motherboard" on Feb 27 2013.
Has worked fine for 3 weeks.   Now Lumia 620 won't boot this morning - no Exclamation Mark, instead it's the Nokia Logo on boot.
The handset is 7 weeks old.
Hard reset (side-button-combination) hasn't worked either.
Any advice on getting this working, repaired or replaced?

Update on the repair - it didn't work.   I returned the phone to the Yau Ma Tei Nokia Care Centre on March 20th, and was given what was termed a 'replacement' phone.   I was pretty happy.  All was well.  But two days later when I tried to make a phone call using my headphones, I noticed that only the left audio channel was working through the earphones.   I tried a second pair of earphones and the same problem.    The audio was only working through the left channel.  On a new phone.  How strange.
So was it really new?   My suspicion is that the repair centre has used old returned parts (parts they perhaps term as refurbished) - so in fact my replacement phone is my old phone assembled with old and refurbished parts.   Was it in fact a refurbished phone assembled from refurbished parts?   Frustrating when they tell me it's a replacement phone.
That was back in late March.  I posted a couple of tweets and Nokia responded.  They even phoned me to try and help.  However no offer of a new phone.  All they suggested was that I revisit the Nokia Service Centre.   For a 4th time.
That was about 6 weeks ago, and I simply haven't made the time to go to the Service Centre again.   It's hard to find the time when my last 3 visits have been so unsuccessful.
Sometimes you just get a lemon.   It happened to me once before with a different manufacturer when I was on a contract and had to live with a phone for 2 years that kept cutting out during calls.   Same problem - the manufacturer attempted to repair it, but it just never worked properly.   That was 10 years ago.  Now it's happening with my new Nokia.  Luckily I'm not on contract this time.  I've read good reviews for the Lumia 620, and overall it's a pretty decent handset in every other way.
But the issues this particular handset has been plagued with has overshadowed any positive feelings I have been having.   I'll probably be cutting my losses and changing handsets in the summer.

  • Problems on my Lumua 620 after Black update

The battery backup of Lumia 620 is really very very disappointing. I cant believe the Nokia manufactured phones will have such low battery backup. It hardly gives a backup of 7 hours. With WhatsApp, Hike and other messaging apps, data connection has to remain switched on all the time and i understand that with data connection on all the time, i cant expect a 2-3 days of backup. But at least it should give a backup of 16-18 hours. I can manage with that amount of backup. Moreover, i don't have any games on my phone and have allowed the least possible number of apps to perform background tasking, brightness is at the least, wifi and Bluetooth are swithched off except when used. So, where lies the problem??
Second, if i start chatting with some friend of mine in some app, the phone gets heated up unusually near the top of the back panel. The heat level rises alarmingly and bounds me to close the app. If the processor is so weak, then why didn't Nokia use a faster and a better processor on the phone.
Thir, the phone runs slow if i open two apps. It is really very disgusting.

Do you use an genuine Micro-SIM? Did you try the Nokia Software Recovery Tool via a Windows computer already? If the same happens after that and because this does not happen with mine, did you consider a hardware fault of your particular unit?

  • Lumia 620: bluetooth problems since Black update

My Lumia 620 did pair correctly with my car via bluetooth. This is a Citroen C5 with NaviDrive 3D system.
However, since the Black update I have the following problems:
    1) I can successfully pair the 620 once, but it does not reconnect after that.
    2) When I try to switch-off bluetooth after a unsuccessful pairing trial, it does not switch-off completely: the small dots in the screen upper area keep on running and the bluetooth switch stays greyed-out.
    3) When I switch-off the phone completely in this situation it often reboots instantly.
Is someone else recognising these issues?

Thanks for the update, @NL620NL. We can't comment yet if this issue will be addressed by the Lumia Cyan WP 8.1 update, though SW updates are released to fix reported bugs and improve the features of the phone's OS. If resetting the phone didn't work, try restoring its software using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool. See this link: Nokia Software Recovery Tool. The link for the recovery app will lead you to the Nokia UK website. Best to search it in the local Nokia support page: Way Finder - Nokia.
Note that this will wipe out all your phone's data, so making a backup is highly advised. Check this link for the steps on backing up your files: Nokia Lumia 620 - Back up and restore data on your phone.
Let us know how it will go.
