Lumia 620 and other storage problem

Hi,
I own a L620 and I'm having a lot of problems with the "Other" storage. Currenty it is occupying 2GB. I have reflash it and hard reset it a lot of times but it always keep growing...
Is there any fix? What can I do?
I'm thinking in but another mobile phone because of this...

Have you tried copying many files to the intrenal storage? this should make the phone release space from other storage and once freed it will remain so. After this you can simply remove the files you copied.
Otherwise a reset would be the only thing I can think of. This is an OS issue and it's MSFT who will (and should) be fixing this.

We understand what you are asking, it's just that the Class10 UHS-I specs are way beyond what is required for the purpose of the SD card in a mobile phone and so it would stand to reason Nokia does not design the interface to take this spec into account, if only for the added cost to the device. Also the MicroSD 'standard' is far from that (a standard) and there is plenty of variation..
In general a regular Class 6 microSD card will be able to deal with anything you can throw at it, with room to spare, when used in the 620 so anything above that would be overkill and would only mean you are wasting money on a more expensive card that may or may not work.

Hi guys, I am new to this forum. I am planning to buy a SDcard for my lumia 620. I am getting vague reviews about class 10 support with 620. Its working for some and not working for few. Kindly help me out. I know class 6 is prefered for my kind of device but in my region, class 6 and 10 costs both same, so going for class 10.

USB connection Lumia 620 and Peugeot 5008

Hello,
my Lumia 620 is not recognized by my Peugeot 5008. The display of the car reports : fault USB device. Because the phone is not recognized, it will not charge either. My phone is equiped with 32 Gb SD card (removing the card is no option because my navigation data and music is installed on the SD card). I have been to the garage to check the USB software of the car. This was the latest available. Can anybody help? Must Nokia change the 'authentication' of the phone or must Peugeot update there USB software? The Peugeot dealer told be there were more problems , also with HTC phones. Please help...
PS: connecting the phone to the USB of a laptop will charge the battery. For the time being I have a USB sigaret charger which also works.

Lumia 620 and bluetooth

I am having an issue with a new Lumia 620. It cannot maintain a bluetooth connection.
Watching this guy here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XHaJmTxi5zU shows how it should be: Connect phone to computer via bluetooth and maintain connection.
What happens to me is that the phone gets connected but will disconnect after 10 -20 seconds. What can I do?

I recently brought Nokia lumia 620 , My first impression was very bad i was not able to connect to another mobile Samsung note2 mobile over blutooth
I was able to pair and connect 620 mobile with Note 2
But the connection stays just 2 seconds .. Dont give some reply that it wont work with other phones..
Please create a phone OS which is userfriendly and stop giving ad on paper and TV that windows 8 phone is awesome...
If you claim Windows 8 is awesome then please make basic features of usage like file transfer over bluetooth very simple..
THis OS not even support bulk files transfer also ... I know this is not very tough for a company like Microsoft to incorportate in these phones..
I see many people commenting here that there phone just stays connected with other device just 3 seconds . But instead of giving reply that works i see all irrevelant details..

Sync issues with iPhone 6 and "other" storage

I have been having multiple problems with syncing music on my iPhone 6. In short some of the music and album art aren't synching even though they are checked.
I did some research and decided to follow the advice below from other users:
• Uncheck “sync music” in iTunes
• On phone, Delete all Music (General > Usage > Manage Storage)
• Re-check “sync music”
• Sync
The problem is once I unchecked the "sync music", it deleted all the music on my phone, but the actual space it was taking up is now in the "other" storage on the summary screen in iTunes. Now my "other" storage is over 81GB. I checked the Usage on my phone and even though there are no music files it is still showing I'm using this 81GB as used. When I go to "manage storage" I can't find this amount anywhere.
I figured if I re-checked "sync music" that would fix it, but instead iTunes tells me I can't sync because I'm over capacity.
So now I'm stuck because I can't sync but I also can't figure out how to get rid of the ghost storage.

Hi. I promised to myself that I wont give up and I looked for a solution to all SB Li've! 5. OEM (0220 and others) problem not detecting the card by the new drivers ! AND HERE IT IS !! Gee, I think it's catching on. I was VERY dissapointed when I wasted my money on the SB Li've! 24bit PCI. That card apparently isn't a Li've! card, it's got a different chipset. It performs horribly with games and there are no other drivers to use for it. Not even the Audigy 2 hack and the kX audo project will work with it. This is like the **bleep** child of all Sound Blasters. No support, no reasonable performance, and horrible drivers. I just joined this forum today and this is the 5th topic related to SB Li've! 24 bit issues that I've seen yet. And what does creative take into initiati've about it's Nothing. I believe it's because Windows which don't have a visible parent frame are, by default, not focusable. Therefore they're never activated or focused.
For the window to become focusable it needs a visible parent. Have a look at Window.isFocusableWindow method's Javadoc for information about how this works.
There's also no point trying to force the window to be focusable using setFocusableWindowState - it still won't work without the visible parent frame.
What's the problem with JPopupMenu? It seems unlikely that you'll write something better than that.
Alternatively, you could try using an undecorated JDialog. Personally, I'd try resolving your differences with JPopupMenu!

HT201250 Do I need to partition my external hard drive if I'm using Time Machine and other storage?

I never used Time Machine before. I was storing select files on my external hard drive as well as using my libraries (IPhoto, ITune, IMovies) directly off of the external hard drive. That hard drive is giving me problems, so I bought a new one. I want to set up Time Machine on this one, but I also want to keep my active libraries on it. Do I need to partition the external hard drive?

You can partition the new drive, just don't make one of the partitons a TimeMachine drive, save a TM for a entire drive with more space than the boot drive as it saves "states" thus requires more room than most people expect.
I highly advise one drive to one drive for backups, and not placing too many backup eggs in one vulnerable hardware basket basically.
Drives are cheap, data is not. Hardware can fail just as often as software, so you need a multiple backup and storage stragedy to protect even against theft and fire.

Why is Verizon dragging its feet in the release of Windows Phone 8.1 for Nokia Lumia 822 and other phones?

I went to the Windows site and they sent me to the Nokia site. Nokia said it was a Verizon problem. Everyone seems to want to pass the buck. I suppose Verizon is going to blame it on either Nokia or Windows.

Really?! Apparently, you're not reading many forums. The number of forum users wanting WP8.1 on Verizon's site alone outnumbers those of you claiming that "no one really cares." From these forums alone, I know of about 6 users (you included) who claim not "to care about the update." Whereas I can count at least 6 times that number who claim otherwise. And that is just in these forums.
Regardless of the update, my complaint is not about "getting the update" or even so much the amount of time to get the update. My complaint is the total disregard, carelessness and outright rudeness Verizon has for its paying customers by not informing us on ANYTHING regarding updates. Even if Verizon were to just come out and say, "We are working on something, but due to legal reasons, we cannot discuss it," at least that would be some sort of acknowedgement of our questions regarding these updates. But to dismiss us, and ignore our pleas for information is just plan rude and not very good customer service.

Missing files using the same library on two different macs and other minor problems

Hi everybody,
I'm working on a long documentary and I'm new to FCPX (coming from Avid NC and Edius)...I have and external HD where I stored all the media I'm working with (about 1/2T - 1000 clips)...The library (about 100gb) is stored on the internal drive of my iMac and into the iCloud.
Yesterday, I received my new MacBook and today I tried to work on it. I followed this steps: I downloaded from iCloud the same library I was working with, I put it on the same folder (movies) it was stored on my iMac and I connected my external HD with all the media...Results? All the clips where gone and the red missing file warning was all over the place.
FIRST QUESTION: How can I work on both computer overcoming this missing files problem? I know I should have put the library on the same external drive but It was a move aiming to
SUB QUESTION 1:
I went back to my iMac and everything worked fine except for a warning about one of my events (the exclamation point) as you can see from this pic:
I tried to relink the file...but no files to be linked popped up in the relink file window....HOW CAN I KNOW what's wrong in that event in order to fix it?
SUB QUESTION 2:
I checked the Library info and - as you can see in the pic below - there are 43mb of media in my internal HD...is this maybe the problem preventing me from working on different macs? I tried to consolidate everything to the external HD but still the 43mb thing persist in being on the internal HD. How can I find where exactly it is located? How can I move it to the external HD given that the consolidate option isn't working?

I'm not clear what procedure you're using here. Using a cloud for storage might change some file tags. Generally users I think keep the library on the same drive as the media, keeping the library backups on the system. There is no real benefit in keeping the media in a separate location. Often users will keep the library in the same folder as the media. It makes backing up using tools like Carbon Copy Cloner very efficient.
1a) This can be difficult to find as there sometimes is no obvious indicator. It might be a missing element in a compound clip, a missing or altered layer in a graphics file, a missing font, a missing effect. These will show up inside the item involved, but may not be apparent in the browser. A missing transition for instance will not be seen until you skim over the project or try to export it.
2) The 43 MB is a small amount of optimized media. This never prevents relinking. The library is always looking for original media, or proxy media if you're in proxy playback. It never looks for optimized media. If it has it, it uses it, if it doesn't, it uses the original media. If you are using original/optimized playback, you must have the original files. The optimized files are not enough.

Lumia 630 and treasure tag problem

Hello,
I justa purchased a tresure tag WS-2 and connected it to my Nokia Lumia 630.
Bluetooth on my phone is on. I can setup the tag (i.e. name it).
Software seams not to work properly.
When i get away from the tag, the tag makes the sound, but my phone doesnt make any sound nor any written notification. Also there is no option to locate the tag in the Here map.
Any suggestions or similar problems?

All notifications are set "on"
Do you think my location may be an issue?
I am in Greece and the phone is set in greek.

Recharge Lumia properly and Amber's problem.

Hi,
My Lumia 520 have been updated to Amber couple of days ago. I've noticed some problems:
- Battery seems to discharge quicker than before. When battery is fully charged, there's 27hrs left, while it was 30hrs left before Amber update.
- WiFi was not automatically turned off when I locked the screen.
Btw, I wonder how to recharge Lumia properly.
- I've read some articles about how to recharge Li-ion battery. They said that the battery should be maintained 40%-80%, and I should not charge my phone 100% and leaving it unused for hours.
However, on Nokia product support site, they said "always charged your phones fully" to extend battery life (???)
- On WP forums, people advised me to unplug the recharger as soon as the battery is full. Because, unlike Symbian, Windows Phone could not shut the circuit down and prevent electricity from going through the phone, which harms the battery and the hardware (???)
Please show me how to fix these problems and how to recharge tmy Lumia 520 properly.

The update probably reset the battery calibration, just use the phone and it will re-calibrate.
You should just charge when you know you'll have a few hours to charge and the battery is around 20-30%. You can charge to full without a problem and there is no need to disconnect a Nokia charger when the battery has been charged fully. Obviously whatever is applicable for 3rd party chargers is your own risk.

Safari stops responding when I try to bookmark (and other slow problems!)

Two weeks ago my logicboard died, so I sent my ibook out to Apple for it to be fixed. Ever since I got it back this past Tuesday, my Safari has been extremely slow, but nothing else is wrong with my computer. Here are the problems:
- The biggest issue is that Safari stops responding when I try to make a bookmark. The popup appears to select the bookmark's destination and to enter the name, but when you hit ok, the rainbow wheel comes up and it stops responding, so I have to reset Safari, and now I can't make new bookmarks at all.
- It lags when it tries to open new windows, especially new tabs.
- If a new page loads that scrolls at all, and then I try to scroll down, the wheel appears for several seconds until it can load the rest of the page. It's as though it gets stuck before it can scroll.
- Sometimes when typing, it will also start to lag behind my typing speed, or if I try to click on a new field, it will not immediately allow me to type on occasion.
All these things have never happened before I sent it out. I have reset my cache, and I have tried entering the open DNS addresses in my networks, which has improved loading speed, but hasn't fixed any of these problems. Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong and how I can fix anything?

Try verifying the hard disk.
Boot from your restore disk while holding down the C key until you see the Apple logo, then let go of the C key. You'll see an Installation window, select English. From the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Disk Utility. Select MacintoshHD 10.x.x in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab, then click Verify. If DU reports errors, click Repair. If Disk Utility cannot repair the disk you have several options. One is DiskWarrior or
TechToolPro If Disk Utility can repair any errors, go back to the Menu Bar, click Utilities/Startup Disk. In the Startup Disk window select MacintoshHD 10.x.x and click Restart.
If you don't have a restore disk, try booting into Safe Mode
