Lumia 620 camera viewfinder quality

I recently got my Lumia 620 and I'm very happy with it. However there seems to be a problem with the camera. In the first attachement, there is a screenshot of how my screen looks like when taking a picture. That doesn't seem right, does it? The picture itself looks just fine, as you can see in the second attachement (didn't really focus, but the difference is clear).
When I point the camera to a bright outdoors scene, the image improves until looks fine.
The front facing camera is just fine.
So, is this a known problem that might be solved with a firmware update in the future, or should I look into returning my camera?

Welcome to the forum!
You can try to perform a reset and let see if it will make any changes. To reset your phone, go to Settings > About > Reset your phone.
NOTE: Reset will delete all your data so make sure to backup your files. See this link for more info on how you can perform a backup.

You can't do that once you start recording.. You may first set the Zoom level and then start recording ..

Try this,
Go to settings, application>>photos+camera,
Change the default camera app to Nokia Camera or vice versa.
If this doesn't work reset the camera in the same page.

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Forum.
I understand that you're having issues with the camera on your phone. Just to verify, your phone crashes each time that you're trying to launch the camera by pressing and holding the camera button as well as by using lenses, right? For us to isolate the issue, did something happen to the phone before this issue started? What are the troubleshooting steps that you've done so far? Have you tried to reboot your phone by removing and reinserting the battery? If that didn't help you can check if there's an available software update for your phone by going to Settings, Phone Update and then Check for Updates.
About the Nokia City Lens, you can try to check if there's an update for the application by going to the Store. If the application is still up to date, you can try to un-install and then re-install it.

Camera lens protector for Lumia 620.

I need a lens protector for my lumia 620 camera but I don't where can I buy it in Kuching . I can get it from Nokia warranty ? Please kindly help me . It's urgent . I don't want my camera lens consist of any scratches . Thanks

Do you mean like a clear stick on screen protector? Don't think anyone uses them because they degrade the quality of the photographs taken through them. What you could do is to get a silicon case which should provide some protection to the lens by creating a recess for it.

Lumia 620 - HERE Maps refusing to install

So, my Lumia 620 came without HERE Maps (But it has HERE Drive+ and City Lens) so I decide to download it, it finishes downloading and it stops and tells me to open the download page and look at it, and it says that it could not be installed, showing the error 8103010d . I tried restarting the phone, and updating it (when the Lumia Black update came out) but it's still the same. Is there any other way, except resetting?

Sound like a reset is needed. You can also try to use the Nokia Software Recovery Tool to recover your phone if you have software or software update problems. If your phone is not responding, it appears to be stuck or is not starting you can try to recover it at home before initiating a repair.

Lumia 620 front facing camera

Hi,
i am unable to use the front facing camera on my lumia 620.
i have tried updating the software and it says there are no new updates as it is fully up to date, however i still cannot work out how to use the front facing camera. Everything else on the phone works fine, including the main camera and the flash. I can see it has a camera on the front and reviews have said it is a vga camera, but i am unable to use it, as i cannot work out how.

Lumia 620 option to select front camera has vanish...

Noob here so go easy on me, tried searching but couldn't find anything...
My Lumia 620 seemed to spend most of the weekend updating various things including windows 8.1 cyan. now when I select the camera function I haven't got the option anywhere to select the front camera. When I start the standard (Microsoft?) camera app either from the apps menu or by using the camera button I just get a choice of Video, Burst and Single Photo modes across the bottom, tapping on ... brings up photo and video settings but no option anywhere to change to front camera. The rear camera seems to work fine.
Is this likely to be related to the updates or could something else be up (I haven't tried to use the front camera for a while).
Any suggestions appreciated.

From within the camera settings, you can also change default camera app if you've installed other ones. The Nokia camera app and Nokia panorama app are free apps to concider if you like taking pictures
And if you're one of those selfie-junkies, you have the Nokia Glam me app

Lumia 620 In-app Camera Slow Start Up

Probem Description:
Push "Camera key", In-app Camera app start up. 4 icons appears as usual next to the Windows logo but the "Liveview" was nowhere to be seen. After 5-7 sec, the "Liveview" only appear. However by that time, the moment that I want to capture already gone.
What is the cause of the slugglishness of the camera start up?
Could it be:
1) insufficient RAM?
2) too many camera app in the phone?
3) outdated OS?
4) phone storage almost full?
Please provide solution or suggestion to overcome the issue.

Im using Nokia 525 which is 520 with 1gb ram and gdr3 black. I have same situation with you as well. Nokia camera app takes longer time to start (5-7s) compare with built-in camera app (2-4s). I will choose built-in app as default in case emergency photo shoot and manually run Nokia camera app for better customization when I am not in rush. I hope Nokia camera app can be improved soon, because this app is really awesome.

Camera stops working in Lumia 620

I have a Lumia 620 from more than a year. The camera stops working three days ago without reasons, because I hadn't installed or uploaded anything. Today I uploaded the phone at Windows 8.1, hoping it could solve my problem, but it actually didn't. I press the camera button and it crashes and if I use some app that require the camera, the screen stays black without showing anything.
There is anything I could do?

In addition to what @adrianhughes has advised, you can also try to uninstall and re-install those other cameraapplications that you have on the phone. Nokia Lumia 620 Product Fault

Hi,
I have a Nokia Lumia 620 that I brought in early Februrary from Expansys and a month later it got a broken power button. First I sent it to the Nokia service center in Canada and they said that it wasn't from Canada and they could not repair it. I can understand this. Then I sent it to Expansys USA and they had the phone for a bit and then they sent it to China. I am about to recive the phone and the power button has not been repaired because it has been demmed user damage. This is a product fault, look how many people have a broken button with the Nokia Lumia 620:

Lumia 620 Music problem with wired headset

Sometimes when I start listen music with my Lumia 620 using WH-208 headset (great price/quality ratio),music is only heard from left earpiece. Then I switch power off/on and it plays normally. This has happeded before and after Amber update.

Seen that happen on 925 as well. Restart fixed it, my 925 came with Amber pre-installed, not sure if it is some bug.

Lumia 620 screen problem.

I have been having this odd problem where the screen doesn't come on when I press the unlock button. At first I thought the phone had hung but after further investigation, I found that it was just the screen that wasn't coming on.
It would still ring when called(can't answer because touchscreen not activated), pressing the camera button would start the camera. I could see the af light coming on when I pressed the camera button but the screen would remain dark. I've been using soft reset to restart the phone.
This has happened 3-4 times in the last month and usually when there's an incoming notification from skype and I tap it to unlock the phone just as the screen goes dark. I'm also using battery widget on the lockscreen but have no idea if that affects anything.
It seems it might be a software problem but I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if it is a hardware problem that needs to be fixed. Thanks!

i am now pretty sure that it is a software issue. let me just tell you about a few scenarios where the screen is really quite slow to turn on.
sometimes i have my phone plugged in to a sound system and i use it as an mp3 player. quite regularly i have to wait up to 5 seconds till the screen turns on after pressing the button. sometimes i even have to press it another time. the weird thing is that if i unplug the 3,5mm plug while i wait for the screen turn on, it instantly comes on.strange...
most times the screen is slow to wake up after the phone hasn't been used for longer than 5 minutes. aftyerb having it turned on once, all successive clicks straight after the first one will activate the phone instantly. as if it was a bit sleepy after longer disuse.
i still havn't found any other coreelations between settings and the screen effect. maybe it's got something to do with flight mode, which i have turned on most of the time.
and maybe the upcoming lumia 620 firmware update will solve this problem anyway. who knows when that will actually be delivered though.

Lumia 620/920 with Nissan Navara integrated Hands ...

Hi all
My wife's Lumia 620 is causing a real problem with the (integrated) hands free in her Navara and I suspect my 920 will be the same (haven't checked yet) as they both support HFP 1.5. Specifically dreadfull transmission sound quality, the sound was never great with previous phones, but was at least acceptable. My suspicion is that the Nissan stereo uses an older profile and the phones don't support it. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution (other than fitting an aftermarket hands free kit (PITA))?
