Lumia 620 suddenly refuses to connect to home Wi-F...

My phone has been working great for three months now, but just as of two days ago it will not connect to my WiFi.
It just sits there, connecting, connecting, connecting and never ever actually connecting. Occasionally it says connection unsucessful.
My computers, as well as my family members' phones all connect with no issue.
Yes I have tried restarting router and phone, and trying to connect while phone is charging. Yes I took off the case then again with the back cover over. As well I removed the battery for two minutes then rebooted. Nothing.
No I did not change router settings, no I did not change phone settings regarding wifi.

Somethings to consider would be that some (cheaper) home WiFi enabled routers/modems can accommodate a limited amount of connections. Also if you are connecting at 802.11n it is well possible some other device also connecting on this speeds uses a slightly different protocol as 802.11n is not as standard as we would hope.
Especially Cisco routers are notorious at not allowing connections at some point and needing a reset. You can also try disabling 802.11n in the router and make sure you have the latest firmware for the router installed.
Lastly, try removing the connection details from the phone in Settings > WiFi > advanced settings where you tap and hold the connection, then select delete. Set the connection up again when done.

  • Lumia 620 & Windows Phone App Connection Problems

    I've been having problems with a Lumia 620 connecting to the Windows Phone App on my Windows 8 laptop. The App keeps reporting that the phone has a problem and is not playing nicely. I've eliminated the laptop as the issue as my Lumia 920 connects without a hitch. I'm guessing the issue is with the Lumia 620's software as it was recently updated in the past two months. Any solutions out there apart from resetting the phone?

    you could try to uninstall the windowsphone app from your laptop and reinstall it to see if maybe it wasn't connecting and loading the drivers correctly.

    I am trying to use Here City Lens 2.2.18.304 on Lumia 620, but it only works on 2G/data and refuses to work on wifi. It asks me to check my settings, which I believe, are correct.

  • Suddenly unable to connect to home network

    My new Macbook 2.0Ghz recognised our home wireless network within seconds of being set up, and has worked fine for 2 days. But today it is no longer connecting.
    The network appears under the airport icon in the menu bar, but when I click on it an alert box comes up after about 20 seconds saying ‘There was an error joining the airport network Netgear.’
    According to Network Diagnostics, all the network systems have failed. The Network icon in the Finder side bar no longer shows a server, and the System Profiler says ‘Wireless network not available’.
    We have 2 other Macs in the house, and they are both working fine. Any ideas about what’s suddenly gone wrong with my new Macbook, and how to fix it?
    Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

    I don't want to start fiddling around with the hardware on my new machine, Rick, but I've tried a few other things.
    I changed the channel on my router from 11 to 3 this morning, and it appeared to work - suddenly I could connect straight away, even with all the other computers using the internet. However, when I started my macbook up later on, it did not connect.
    It does seem that if I reboot the router and go online first (ie. with the other computers switched off), I can connect. But obviously that's not a proper fix!
    I've also downloaded iStumbler on all the computers, and it shows 0% noise for the connection on the others, but 9% on my macbook. I don't know if this is perhaps affecting my connection?
    I've also tried resetting the network settings (by removing the SystemConfiguration folder) and manually configuring my connection, but with no success.
    Has any one got any ideas?

  • Suddenly can't connect to home wireless network

    All of a sudden I can't connect to my home wireless network - always has worked perfectly.  Now I get a box asking for the password, and although I type it in correctly it keeps saying "incorrect password."  I thought I'd delete it and re-establish it, but it doesn't show up in the Managed Network settings.  Any ideas what is going on?

    On the problem computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and delete all instances of the printer.
    Next, print a Wireless Network Test from the front of the printer (Network menu).  Note the printer's IP address.
    1. Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by browsing to its IP address before continuing.
    2. Click >> Start >> Control panel >> Printers.
    3. Click the Add a printer
    4. Select Local printer
    5. Select Create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port and click Next button.
    6. Under Device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under Hostname or IP address, enter the printer's IP address. Click Next.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard from the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
    If your printer model was not listed, then select Have Disk, browse the HP CD that came with your printer and select the first file that starts with hp and ends with inf. Click Open then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If you are asked, use the currently installed driver.
    9. It will ask for the Printer name -- enter a new name or use the existing one. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. You may be asked to share the printer. Choose NO.
    11. The Print Test Page box appears. Go ahead and print it.
    12. Click Finish.
    Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • IMac suddenly refuses to connect to the internet...? What?

    Hello, everyone.
    Yesterday I ran into quite a pickle, and have yet to get out. I was on the computer just about all morning, and got off. The internet was working fine, and there were no issues at all. However I hear, shortly after I get off, my older sister complain that the internet was out.
    Being the tech-y of the house, I immediately responded to her issue. However, usually it's a simple fix, correct? Either the router is messed up, and I just have to restart it/go to the router's page and turn it on from there, or just simply connect the Mac back to the internet connection... however it lacked that simplicity.
    I've been trying just about all day, to get this working. I'm completely stumped, and that's all I really can say about it. I'm currently running in BootCamp to access the internet, meaning it's not my router, or the computers ability to connect, it's the Mac side itself, and that alone. Was there a flawed update that was released? Because this Mac is just about as up to date as you can get. We have a mini-mac downstairs, not as well updated, and it's able to connect just fine, all the PC's in the house can connect, just not the iMac...
    This was random, too. Like I said, I was on it all morning, and the suddenly it just stops working...
    I'd appreciate any help, and I do mean any help. As long as there's a possibility of getting my computer fixed, I'm all ears.

    On the Mac open System Preferences->Network pane and turn off the Airport card. Then while in the Network pane highlight the Airport in the left hand corner and near the bottom of the left hand side of the pane and click on the - button. Don't panic!
    Lastly while still in the System Preferences->Network pane hit the + button and re-add the Airport card. In the right hand of the pane hit the 'Apply' button and then try to rejoin the wireless network.
    Another trick in the Network pane is to make a new "Location', calling it whatever you want (i.e. Home), and hitting the 'Apply' button.
    One of these tricks might help. Good Luck.

  • HT4528 iPhone5 suddenly can't connect to home network

    I've turned my phone on and off, I've turned wifi on and off, I've clicked on static and back to DHCP, none of these suggestions from other posts have resolved my issue! Other iPhones and iPads are on home wifi. My phone just suddenly went to LTE and says "unable to join network"...

    There are two ends to a network connnection:  try rebooting the router. Just unplug the power for a few seconds. No settings are lost.

  • Users refused SSH connection of home directory server.

    I have an odd situation when using SSH connections for secure FTP file
    access on my NW6.5 servers.
    I've got two main data servers. Both are identical in setup: NW6.5SP8/eDir
    8.8SP5 VM's running on identical Dell PE1950's attached to a Hitachi SAN
    array.
    One server hosts the users' home folders, the other holds data shared across
    the enterprise.
    I have a third data server at a remote campus.
    With the server that hosts the user's home folders, I've several accounts
    that are not able to connect. The server logs indicate a failed password.
    That same user, however, can log in successfully to either the server that
    holds shared data or the server at the remote site.
    Due to the nature of how Novell implements SSH, once they've logged in,
    they're attached to their home folder on the server that will not allow them
    direct connection.
    Since this issue does not affect all users, I don't understand where the
    issue lies.
    The sshd_config file on both servers are identical.
    Not sure if it's applicable to this issue, but SDIDIAG reports no problems
    on either server.
    The entries from the respective log files:
    Home directory server:
    30 Mar - 19:02:36[0080892840] (4983b0e0)SSHD Session 1 <118429> : Failed

    In the past I've collected iMonitor traces, but could find anything concrete
    that points to a system issue.
    That said, I can't remember what all I set up in the trace configuration
    beyond NMAS and LDAP, so I may have been looking for the wrong thing.
    Any ideas of where to look for problems are welcome.

    My lumia 620 is unable to connect to my win 8.1 pc. Whenever I plugin my device it starts getting charged but nothing shows up so that I could access the files in my mobile. It was working all right till a couple of days back; then I came across this "Project my Screen app". As I was unable to project my device, I follwed the instructions as posted here . I deleted my drivers associated with windows phone just in hope to get it working, but I failed. I looked for troubleshoot and got this . I tried the each step mentioned but it didn't materialise. Kindly help me out.

    Hi Roshanrims,
    Thank you for reaching out to us. Let's go with the connectivity issue first. Are you getting the same issue when you connect your phone to another PC? To further isolate the issue, you can try other troubleshooting steps found on the below link:

  • IMac suddenly can't connect to wireless!

    My iMac suddenly refuses to connect to wireless! It worked fine before.
    Tried everything including resetting the wireless router.
    It always said that my password is invalid... My password is correct!
    Can anybody help me? Thanks!

    I'm having the same problem.  I have a time machine that I use for my wireless router.  I connect wirelessly using my Macbook Air.  It has worked fine for months.  Today, about 4 hours ago, my wireless connection stopped working.  When I connect via ethernet directly, it works.  I know it's not my router, because I also tried a spare Airport Express and that doesn't work either.  I'm going to try restoring the time machine to its factory settings and configure it from scratch to see if that works.  I'll post back with the results.

  • Suddenly unable to connect to my webserver

    Hi everyone.
    So I ran into a sticky situation on a swf that has been working quite well for several years and this morning out of the blue my test movie (local) suddenly refuses to connect to my web server. I think the culprit is the new flash debug player I installed last night. I upgraded to 10.1 from 9.something. After sifting through countless google searches and beating my head against my desk for the past few hours Im at a total loss as to what happened and how to get my local testing working once again. The really confusing thing is that I can publish and upload to my web server and it works just fine. (Not really an option as a compile/upload takes a bit less than 10 mins)
    Im running Flash Pro 8
    So the first thing I did was uninstall the new flash debug player. Ran a test movie, no luck (Error opening url()...)
    Next I downloaded and installed Flash player 9 content debugger (netscape-compatible browsers). Ran a test move, no luck
    Gotta be my server then, nope all directories/files and permissions are exactly the same.
    Hummm... I wonder if I can connect to my server at all? I uploaded a brand new test file (test.txt) to the server and open it in a browser to make sure its accessible. Created a new fla with the following code:
    var server:String = "http://www.campaign63.com/resources/test.txt";
    this.createTextField("params_txt", 10, 10, 10, 100, 21);
    params_txt.autoSize = "left";
    System.security.allowDomain(server); //shouldnt be necessary but I want to rule as much out as I can
    var my_lv:LoadVars = new LoadVars();
    my_lv.onLoad = function(success:Boolean) {
        if (success) {
            trace("text file successfully loaded");
            params_txt.text = my_lv.testValue;
        } else {
            params_txt.text = "unable to load text file";
    my_lv.load(server);
    with the local playback security set to "Access network only"
    Fails: "Error opening URL "http://www.campaign63.com/resources/test.txt""
    To rule out my code I change the first line to: var server:String = "test.txt"; it works (regardless of the local playback security setting)
    Im am at a total loss...
    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Yeah, I did that after thoroughly reading the page
    Still no luck. As I was doing that I noticed that I didnt get the "sandbox" message with the setting tab that would take you to the FP global setting page unless I tried to open the swf from windows explorer. Opening from Flash it just give the "error connecting to url..." message. Anyway I did add the local folder location that contains all the related project files. Also when I right click and "open with" I am only give the option to open with Flash Player 8.0 r22. I cant find the new Player that I just reinstalled (after a restart). Not even with a windows search. However if I verify my version I get 10,1,53,64 debug yes.
    Just to verify that something in flash could connect to the internet my old ftp login for "open from site" can connect. It has to be the player, right?
