Lumia 620 video format - Panasonic TV

I had previously had problems with DLNA streamiing - http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-Lumia/Lumia-620-quot-Play-To-quot-app/td-p/1772318http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-Lumia/Lumia-620-quot-Play-To-quot-app/td-p/1772318 and have now been in discussion with Panasonic.
They seem to be claiming the Nokia Video format is not compatibile with their TV sets ( well mine anyway, a TX-L37DT30B ).
The Panasonic manual seems to say it can handle MP4 files of type H.264 BP/MP/HP with AAC/MP3 audio.
The Nokia web site for the 620 says "Video recording formats: MP4/H.264" and "Audio recording file formats: 3GP, 3G2"
The Panasonics DLNA "file manager" can see the video and reports it as 1280x720p MP4 file, but it stutters badly when played back via the 'Play To' Beta app.
So the questions basically are:
Am I missing something,
Are these video/Audio formats compatibile?
And more importantly, should the Lumia 620 be able to play back video on a Panasonic TV? (Any other panasonic users out there).
Thank you

Beta forum - that will have to wait then. I've had two attempts to post to it (from different browsers) and both failed. After pressing <submit> to make the post it gives a message "server unavailable" (or some such nonsense).
I tried to post:
I'm trying to stream Lumia 620 video to a panasonic TV using DLNA via a BT Home Hub 2B. The phone connects wirelessly to the router, and the TV connects via powerline Eth adapters to the router.
Whilst I can connect and see photos on the TV, video is just a stuttering slide show.
I originally posted here - http://discussions.nokia.com/t5/Nokia-Lumia/Lumia-620-video-format-Panasonic-TV/td-p/1810002 and was advised to post on the Beta discussion as well.
The video stutters when played by DLNA, but the same video transferred to an SD card via a PC, plays OK in the TV.
I've been on touch with Panasonic and they seem to be blaming the phones video format for not playing in the media server, yet their brochure for the TV claims it can play 720p MP4 videos.
Any ideas?
Should the Lumia be able to stream its own videos to a Panasonic TV?
Thank you.

  • Lumia 620 video sound

Hey, i noticed an annoying issue/problem whatever it is. So, after 8.1 update, everything ok, except the phone is strugeling in main screen etc. Example shut down a program so the phone goes to the main screen and the tiles update's slowly or are invisible and appears slowly. But the actual issue yeah, when watching a video and if i rew it backward or forward and it loads the video for a moment, then when the video continues a loud popping sound comes from speaker. There wasn't this before, annoying i would say... Sry possible bad English.

Hello, JP083.You're referring to the Lumia Cyan SW when you say '8.1 update', is that right? Does it happen to all videos that you're playing? After the update, have you also tried checking if the system apps are up-to-date?
Try scanning the QR codes shown at this link to verify: Nokia Windows Phone 8 App Updates. After this, try playing the same video and see if the same issue will happen. Try closing apps as well to verify if this step also helped resolved your first concern about shutting down programs.
Let us know how it will go.

  • Lumia 620 Video Recording Issues

I recorded this video today (link below) with my 620 and it came out horrible. I thought it might have been the shakiness of my filming but I even tried recording a steady pan of my living room afterwards and the video and audio were still choppy. And this is on my phone, this isn't some youtube problem. I recently did a hard reset and this is the first video I've recorded since then. Before the reset, videos came out great (second link below) but I don't know what happened and I don't wanna do another hard reset, those suck.
    http://youtu.be/el0qZ2aJ87g - post-hard reset
    http://youtu.be/bVJNAQZ38Ek - pre-hard reset
    Please help, thanks.

Hi, Canarg. Did you also perform a hard reset? Have you updated your device? How about all the lens apps installed on your phone? Ensure that all of them are up-to-date. It would also help if you can possibly attach a video like what hamidq did so we can also compare the quality.

  • Video Call for Lumia 620

can you get vedio call (USE SKYPE and without skype) use Nokia lumio 620 phone?

    Hi UDHITHA,
    Welcome to the forum!
Video calls through Skype is supported by Nokia Lumia 620 and other WP8 Lumia phones. But this is only possible if the person you want to video call is also using Skype application on his/her phone.

  • What file format can be used to play 3D videos on Panasonic TVPlasma3D with USB PenDrive?

What file format can be used to play 3D videos on Panasonic TVPlasma3D with USB PenDrive?
I writed to Panasonic Italy support about this question:
"What file format can be used to play 3D videos on Panasonic TVPlasma3D with USB PenDrive?"
Panasonic writed me in a very poor manner and said me:
"...riproduce formati: AVCHD (anche 3D), SD-Video, DivXHD, JPEG, MP3, AAC tramite USB e Slot SD/SDHC/SDXC card..."
"...formato : AVCHD estensione file nella SD: .MTS..."
I made a few videos edited with PremiereProCS5 and exported as H.264 Coding and .mp4 file extension, all side by side, with layout 1920x1080pixels that includes two stretched frames at 960x1080 pixels.
This is the same image layout that uses the Panasonic 3D consumer camcorder "HDC-SDT750", that record AVCHD videos with file extension .MTS.
I also tried to export another video as MPEG2 with .mpg file extension.
But at the store the tests failed, and I cannot see anything!
    My questions are:
    1) What format can be used by PremiereProCS5 for exporting the Stereoscopic 3D videoclip and play them via USB port on Panasonic TVPlasma3D such "TX-P46VT20"?
    2) What codec should be used? H.264? H.264-bluray?
    3) What file extension should have the movie file? .mp4?
    Many Thanks!
    Horsepower0171.

-I already read entirely those threads, but nothing about stereoscopic 3D AVCHD movies through USB port, on Panasonic TVPlasma3D.
(Also, Sony said me that is not possible to play 3D videos on your 3DTV through USB port).
I tried to made a H.264 videoclip, with .MP4 extension, at 960x1080p side-by-side layout, but nothing was displayed, and black screen.
I think that just the AVCHD movies, with .MTS extension, that comes from Panasonic consumer camcorder "HDC-SDT750", can play the 3D videos via HDMI cable, not USB port.
But not the exported videos from PremierePro via USB port.
I seen this tutorial from David K Helmly:
    http://www.youtube.com/user/dhelmly#p/a/u/1/_YtF0c2bmkw
Dave export the video from PremiereProCS5 as "MPEG2-bluray" format with "Match Source Attributes (HighQuality)" Preset, and build the Bluray Disc in EncoreCS5, with the footage as MPEG2 with .m2v file extension:
    1) Anyone tried to play correctly in 3D, those MPEG2-.m2v side-by-side files, in Panasonic3DTV, with BlurayDiscReader?
    2) Why MPEG2.m2v side-by-side?
    3) The official standard stereoscopic 3D format, is not the .MVC (MultiViewCoding) for Bluray3D Disc?
    I am confused!
    Help!

  • Video Sharing - Lumia 620

How do i share video on my lumia 620
Moderator's note: We have amended the subject as we provide a topic touch on the subject.

hi mate, simply open the thumbnail of the video you wish to share, and select the three white dots in the bottom right-hand corner of the scren and tap Share. options will then present to you of how to share your video. do bear in mind that if you wish to share over Bluetooth or NFC, you will need to have these options enabled in the Settings before they appear in the Share menu.

  • Video Format choices with Panasonic PV-GS320 camcorder

I have new Panasonic PV-GS320 -- I'm doing tests to feed into iMovie Video Editor application on my Macintosh G5. The "Video Format" importing choices into iMove are: DV, DV Widescreen, HDV 1080i, HDV 720p, MPEG 4 and iSight.
I'm confused as to WHAT is my new camera's "image definition" -- Cnet's review says the camera is "Panasonic's top MiniDV camcorder, and the company's only tape-based STANDARD-DEFINITION 3CCD model"
The spec detail says: Video may be recorded in both 4:3 and 16:9 aspect ratios at a frame size of 720 x 480 pixels. -- Does this indicate 720p ?
"Standard Definition" as opposed to High Definition? Meaning "Standard" vs. 720p or 1080i?
It might appear that my import selection into iMovie editor would either be "DV" or "720p" -- but not sure?
Another factor is that I am playing back/exporting the recorded tape out of a SONY player/recorder GV-D1000 via firewire into my Mac G5. I hope the GV-D1000 is faithfully exporting the same highest quality the Panasonic PV-GS320 had recorded?
    Thank you
    Mike in San Francisco

As Thomas says, you need only bother with DV and DV Widescreen.
HDV 1080i is for most "hi-definition" camcorders.
HDV 720p is for some early JVC-brand hi-def camcorders (which recorded 'progressive' instead of the more usual 'interlaced' video).
MPEG-4 is for other devices which record (usually) onto memory chips instead of tape.
iSight is for capturing video from an Apple "iSight" camera (either an older clip-on camera, or a camera built into a laptop or iMac).
(..And as Karsten says, your Mac will probably figure it out for itself, by examining the first clip it receives from your camera..)

  • Disappointed with my windows phone!!(lumia 620)

I bought a new lumia 620 as a back up to my android(htc one x+)..but I am very disappointed with some of these glitches..
    1. No notification centre..it's really a pain!
    2. Can't pay via SIM card to purchase an app..
    3. Can't play high mp4, mkv, flv videos though I think the snapdragon s4 is capable to do it..is Nokia waiting for a developer to put up such an app at the store?!!
    4. Limited file download size...!!! It's worst...I got an unlimited data plan and don't really have to care..why Microsoft has to protect me!! Instead they should turn it to a feature by allowing the user to decide the restriction..for example: if u have a 1 GB data plan you should be able to set a restriction which would protect you when your overall usage exceeds 1 GB! I feel as if windows is trying to follow APPLE blindly..why make it so complicated instead of user friendly!!
    5. My handset does crash and restarts at least once a day..
    6. Battery drains out too quickly..something which is not expected from Nokia
    7. Very few apps..most of them are **bleep**..if not they are too costly..I even feel Microsoft should reduce the price of app hosting
    8. Whenever I share via Bluetooth..my phone hangs for sure and there is no option other than removing my battery and restarting..
    9. If any unsupported file format is downloaded I don't know where is it stored..and eats up my memory...
I am even using APPLE IPOD with which I share a better experience than my lumia...
I am sure to ditch this useless paper weight within a month if no improvements appear..
Sorry if my language is rough but it's my frustration with lumia..and I am fed up..expecting a good update...
And these are what I know is all consumers want..Nokia and Microsoft should think about consumers satisfaction above all!!!
    Thanks

Paying through your mobile account for apps is the responsibilty of your network provider to support this feature for Windows Phone, so you need to take your complaint to them.

  • Lumia 620 : Stuttering/Crackling Speaker :(

Bought Lumia 620 about 2 weeks ago.But using it now. After a few audio n video playbacks, the speaker started to stutter/crackle. It is so much irritating and after buying Lumia 620 with so much excitement, i am now too much disappointed with this problem. What should i do now?Should i contact Nokia Care?Would i get the handset exchanged with a new one?

Take the device to a nokia care point where they can examine the phone, also just to note the source of video may also be a cause for distortion or the format they are in.
If  i have helped at all a click on the white star below would be nice thanks.

  • Lumia 620 music volume not changing..

I've lumia 620,sometimes the music volume is set on constant level but it is only for audio songs(downloaded from Nokia music or pc ). But if i play music from nokia music/or play videos,games,metrotube... The volume does changes except for music from music+videos. Restarting phone stops the issue for time being but it can not be a solution because it happens every day.(i have tried reseting the phone from settings->about) it doesn't solve the issue.

Go to nokia care when you are facing the problem DO NOT RESTART THE PHONE..(otherwise the issue will be solved for time being)... they will do so called software update..(its like formatting the phone only rarely a firmware update)  and the issue will be solved for some time but that is not a long term solution..(the issue comes again after some time).... i did it twice now gonna do it 3rd time if the issue pick again i am gonna pull them to consumer court...

  • Lumia 620 - connection speed to router ( BT (UK) H...

I have a UK BT Home Hub 2b.
My nettbook connects to it at either 54Mbps or occasionally 104Mbps, as reported by the router. The speed is usually 54 but occasionally when close to the router (or maybe on 'low noise' days) it hits 104.
My 620 always connects at 39Mbps as reported by the router never faster and never slower. Even if I'm right by the router or at the other end of the house, its 39Mbps as reported by the router.
This seems odd to me that the netbook, a few years old now, seems to connect faster than a phone purchased in the last month. I know 39Mbps is probably fast enough in reality for a phone, but was wondering if others have seen this speed differenece or if I have a setting somewhere incorrectly set (either on the router or the phone), or maybe the phone is faulty?
The networks is set for 'n' working. I have asked BT who were of little help.
    Any ideas?
Any Lumia 620 people on a BT hub of any type getting similar speeds (39Mbps) or connecting at faster speeds?
    Thanks in advance.

    aleisha11,
Thanks for the reply. I was more hoping that others would share their typical connection speeds. I realise its not (probably) possibly to make direct comparissons between a netbook and a phone, but they are the only two bits of wireless kit I have.
I only asked, because tucked away in the NOKIA FAQs was this gem:
When connecting Nokia mobile device (e.g. N8-00) to a WLAN access point using the IEEE 802.11n mode, connectivity issues have been observed with access points from certain vendors. Problems have been observed with at least the following WLAN products:
    FritzBox 7270
    Livebox 2
    BT HomeHub V2.0 Type B
    Netgear DGN1000
The issue is related to a WLAN chip used in these access points. To solve the problems, it is recommended to upgrade the access point firmware to the latest version.
If there is no firmware update available or the update doesn't help, the workaround is to disable the 802.11n mode and force the access points to use just the 802.11b/g mode.
And as it doesn't mention the specifics or the BT HH2b software level, I just wondered if the lower speed had an impact on my main issue - http://betalabs.nokia.com/trials/play-to-for-wp8/Discussion/Play-to-lumia-620-DLNA-panasonic-video-s...
I'd still be interested in anyone typical router connection speed if they would care to share.

  • I finished making an animated .gif image in FireWorks. My question is, how do I convert it into video so that when I edit video, that every video editing program recognizes it? Long story short, How do I convert animated .gif files into video formats?

I worked in Adobe FireWorks to make the animated .gif. What program do I use to convert the file from .gif to any video format: .mp4, .m4v, .avi, .wmv, etc. I want to convert it into video format, so that QuickTime Player plays the video, I can insert it into iMovie '11 and edit, and also insert it into Final Cut Pro X and edit video.

Thanks for getting back with me so promptly.  It has taken me this time to connect with the proper people to find out the information you requested.
The camera used to film the class was a Panasonic AG-HMC40P, owned by a local cable TV station; they use Kodak video encoding software, and a SD card was used to store the video.   The file extension is .mts, and the mime file is MPEG 2 transport.  He said I probably need an AVCHD converter, and the Mac app store lists 8 of those options, 4 free and 4 for up to $9.99.  He said I'll also need a converter for later plans of posting on YouTube or on the website, and while some of those in the app store might work for the later needs, he knows one app called "Compressor" that would work for the uploading later.  He also suggested I could try renaming the .mts file to .MP2T, but he wasn't sure that would work.
They don't work with Macs at the studio, but I had thought I could have some lessons there in editing, and apply what I learned to my iMac and iMovie.
First, though, I have to be able to see it and review it!
    Thanks again!

    Hi jeeby,
Have you tried reinserting and removing the memory card? You can also see this link: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windowsphone/develop to know more about the supported video formats.
You can also try to convert it to another supported format using a converter software then check if it will work.
