Lumia 630 faults following 8.1 update

Since updating mu 630 today, O cannot copy and paste any text other than that I have entered. Eg I can't now copy text from any web page.
And, entering dialogue on a blog site has become difficult - the dialogue box either unresponsive or moving when trying to enter text. Help, I'm pulling my hair out!

Thanks for coming back and to answer your questions, on advice from Nokia Tech Support, the 630 was reset to factory settings and the update installed from there - the faults appeared again.
I subsequently took the andset to a Nokia Care Centre where they seemed aware of post-update problems. They wiped the phone and installed what I was told was the latest softrware.
After configuring the phone at home the phone seemed fine for a little while until........ I received and email from Microsoft inviting me to install and 'urgent update' which I did. The post-update faults (occasionally insensitive touch-screen, inability to highlight text to copy and paste, falling out of a web site and the screen reverting to the home page, occasional failure to respond to taps on web 'favourites' to move from a website to another etc).
Clearly there is a fault either with my 630 handset or could there be bugs in the Denim update which it cannot cope with?
I have talked to my phone retailer which refuses to replace the phone as I've had it for more than 28 days. The Nokia Care Centre are willing to return it to Nokia for attention but are unable to provide a phone on loan with similar functionality. I do not have a spare thus I would be without a phone for up to two weeks.
I am disappointed that my 630 has developed these faults and wonder whether that model is able to cope with the Denim enhancements. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't appear to be only one experiencing post-Denim difficulites and neither do they appear to be confined to the 630.
As is, my options appear to be to revert to pre-Demin software, put up with the post-Denim frustrations or return the handset to Nokia and be phoneless for a couple of weeks. Disappointing to say the least.
Are there bugs in the post-Denim software? Is the 630 not able to handle it? Do Microsoft have a fix or do I just bin the Nokia and thus never get another?

Hello,
you can check here ([1]) which release is available for your device. For the Lumia 630 in India that is the Cyan release.
[2] reads "For all other Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the update will start rolling out during Q4 2014, following partner testing and approvals", so I think
it is only a matter of time when the update is deployed to the Lumia 630 in India.

Trying to update Lumia 630 OS

My Lumia 630 is persistently asking me to connect to WiFi to download a critical update since some couple of months; a month ago I took it to Nokia care, they said I have to change its slightly cracked outside screen before they could update it for me bcos it is risky to update on a broken screen & change of screen costs 12600naira which I can't afford. Pls I want to know how else I could do update without changing d screen or can I just continuing ignoring d update notification? Pls help me out

Hi, DAYJEE. Updating the phone's software has nothing to do with the screen. Suggest connecting to a W-Fi connection & proceed with the software update. This link may also help you: How can I update my Lumia with Windows Phone 8?. However, it is still recommended to have your phone's screen fixed for you to enjoy using it. Back up your files to avoid data loss. We'd love to hear your response.

When will the denim update start rolling for Lumia 630 in India??? And when it will happen that applications will be allowed to run in background. Please don't make the OS with much limitation. At least think for the buyer's..

I got the denim update on my Lumia 630 (dual sim). I heard a lot about it, specially about camera improvements. But I don't see any change in the camera app. It's still 4.9.3.0 and work like always. Soooo.... Can anyone help me ?

SD Card in Lumia 630

Hay to all
In my new Lumia 630, when I look at the contents of my SD card through "storage insight" it shows the SD card, and when choosing it it shows the sublabels e.g. photos,pictures, music and such. But I cannot SEE any further,so I don't see the actual files.
Furthermore,when taking a picture, the option "save to SD card "is grey...non-selectable.
Only "save to phone" is available.
Strange,seen the fact that I've clearly choosen to save everything to the SD card in the storage settings.

1. Switch off the phone and then remove the memory card. For information on how to remove the memory card, see your Nokia phone's user guide.
2. Connect the memory card to a PC with a USB or SD card adapter; your memory card should appear as a separate drive on the computer:
If the memory card problem message box appears, follow the on-screen instruction to fix the problem.
If the memory card is not recognised by the PC, it may be broken or password protected by the previous device where it was used. Neither Windows nor Windows Phone support password protection. Remove the password from the memory card with the previously used device.
3. Format the memory card on a PC. Before formatting the memory card, make sure you have a backup of the data as it is lost during formatting:
Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the removable storage on the computer, right-click the memory card and select Format.
For 4-32GB cards, select the file system FAT32 and allocation unit size 32 kilobytes and press Start. For 64GB cards, select the file system exFAT and allocation unit size 128kB.
Confirm the data loss warning message. When the formatting process is complete, press OK.
Restore only the data that is compatible with your phone (JPEG or MP4 in the photos folder or MP3 in the music folder).
Right-click the memory card, select Eject, and wait until it is safe to remove the card.
Insert the memory card into the slot in the phone until it locks into place.

i have problems with my lumia 630 DS, can't access the "find my phone" tab on settings, whenever i press it, it keeps coming back to the main settings tab,
i'm from PH, OS version 8.10.12397.895 and it says it's up to date
still waiting for the lumia denim update, any ideas when it'll be released in PH ?

You are notified automatically by your phone, when the update is available. When there was no update till Easter, please, give us your ‘Nokia Product Code’ and we look into your firmware variant (and what is up).

Are you trying to install company apps from your SD card? Are the files saved as XAP? To install company apps in your Lumia 630, you must have a workplace account first. See this link for more information: Nokia Lumia 630 - Use your work phone.
Note that the link provided is for UK. If you're in a different region, best to search it in the local Nokia support page: Nokia Global.
BTW, which update are you trying to install? Is it for a particular app, or for the phone's software. The phone's SW can be updated via mobile data if your network settings allow it. Downloading apps and app updates can be done via mobile data as long as the file is less than 50 MB. Otherwise, you'll be ask to use Wi-Fi connection.

Lumia 630 email subfolder sync problem

I recently bought a Lumia 630 phone and to my annoyance I have noticed that it does not sync my Exchange subfolders. I have configured the Exchange account correctly and I get all of my emails from inbox synced exactly like they should but I can’t get anything from folders. The phone starts synchronizing folders as it should but after the synchronization is completed there are no emails in that folder. This happens even if I set the ‘Download email from’ setting to ‘any time’.
All my other Windows phones (Lumia 825 and Samsung GT8700) and other portable devices are able to retrieve email from the folders, so this behavior is new to me. Also it seems to only impact Exchange as the subfolder downloads work perfectly from Yahoo and Gmail.
I have re-created the Exchange account multiple times but the behavior still remains the same.
The OS version that is installed to my phone is: 8.10.12359.845
Would appreciate any help to solve this problem.

Is these the steps how you created your account?
Exchange can be set up only if your company has a Microsoft Exchange server. In addition, your company IT administrator must have activated Microsoft Exchange for your account.
Before starting the setup, make sure you have the following:
A corporate mail address
Your Exchange server name (contact your company IT department)
Your network domain name (contact your company IT department)
Your office network password
Depending on the Exchange server configuration, you may need to type in additional info during the setup. If you don't know the correct info, contact your company IT department.
During the setup, you can define how often you want your phone to sync the content with the server. Only content defined when setting up the account is synced. To sync additional content, change the Exchange account settings.
With Exchange, it may be mandatory to use the lock code.

Lumia 630 and saved maps On a microsd card

hello all,
I am currently using a lumia 630 and i am having the following problem... I travel a lot around europe and i want to have all the map information about europe installed to my phone. The problem is that the phone's memory is limited and if i download all the information i want there will be no space left for anything else!!! Is there a way to download all map information to a microsd card???

At the moment there is not. I use the 630 as a secondary phone and would love to use it for Maps but just like you I hit the memory problem. I have all maps stored in my 1020, but that can't maintain battery for long journeys. Until they change it so that maps can be stored on memory card, the phones with 8GB memory are not good options for serious map users.

Lumia 630 Cortana

So I just got a Lumia 630. I wanted something cheap after breaking yet another iPhone. I mainly got it for Cortana. Cortana looks cool. I say looks because I haven't actually used it. After searching I can only find outdated posts saying it isn't availible in the UK yet, which it is now right?
I got sim free (using giff gaff) and I'm in the UK. If i say look for updates the phones says there isn't one.
How on earth do I get Cortana on my phone? Help.

Ut of box Lumia 630 missing calendar

Hi, Cant seem to locate any trace of calendar/scheduler nor appointment or task buttons on brand new 630.
Followed Nokia support page how to create an appointment but alas no calender option is available on the Home screen inital left swipe menu listed A -Z.
Calculator & camera are present but no calendar...also been through setting one section by one and i'm totally stumped..
Also too many websites hence this posting.
kinda need this function - as it'll go back if i cant switch this on.

We did have one Lumia 630 in the office that exhibited this symptom. It appears to be something happening in the initial boot-up, and the cause is under investigation; however as a workaround in the meantime we can confirm that performing a device reset did resolve this in our device.

iii. In your response to #5, after all the computation in the INCLUDE, what comes back to the Update rule i.e. what comes back to become the value of 0GR_QTY?
