Lumia 630 software update

This morning I received an update after which one wasn't able to enter some functions in settings menu(it's motion data and display options in settings menu)! Any idea what' the case?

Welcome to the forum!
Did you receive a notification that the software update installation was successful? Do you get any error where trying to access the Motion data and Display options under Settings? Aside from @thalion's suggestions, you can also reboot the phone by pressing and holding the power keys for 10 seconds.

Lumia 920 Software Update problems

I have a Nokia Lumia 920 on Orange in UK.
I installed the software update provided by Nokia last weekend - 02/02/2013. Since then I have only experienced issues.
Since the update my signal has been intermittant. For every 10 seconds i have signal, I go 30 minutes without. A no entry sign appears over the signal. I have checked with Orange and run numerous diagnostics over the phone and in store with Orange, the coverage from the netwrok is fine.
Tried a soft and hard reset with no improvement!! The hard reset almost stopped the phone working completely, getting stuck on the gears rotating for 5 hours.
Any ideas? Seems to have been caused by the software update!? Phone also completely blacked out and required soft restart to begin yesterday.
I want a normal phone back, nothing but problems with this 920, especially since the update?
How can i get a clear signal again, and off this forum to catch some much needed daylight!

Nokia Lumia 525 Software Update. Wifi problem.

Hello Nokia users. I recently bought a Nokia Lumia 525. Heard that Software Update would come by September. So i learned how to update my phone by seeing Nokia videos and articles. I got to know that we need a WiFi connection to perform a Software Update.
the problem is i don't have a WiFi connection in my place. Can i download the update using Mobile Network ? I saw this " YOUR PHONE WILL AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOAD UPDATES IF YOUR DATA SETTINGS ALLOW IT" what does that mean ? How can i make my data settings allow it to download my update ? Can i pause and resume my download ?
i heard that we can Update our phone at your nearest Nokia Care center... If yes how much it will cost ?
please don't get angry on my questions,, im sorry that I've asked so many questions... Please answer me.

Nokia Lumia 800 - Software Update

I have tried loading the Windows Phone software update on mu Nokia Lumia 800 and every single time I have done this through Zune software my phone runs through the majority of tasks it has to do and then locks up at task 9 out of 10 as it re-starts my phone. I had left this going over night but still it hangs on 9 out of 10 tasks completed.
Has anyone else had this problem and did you overcome it?
My current firmware version is 1750.0805.8773.12220
My current OS version is 7.10.8773.98
The latest versions are:-
Firmware 1750.0823.885x.124x0
OS Version 7.10.8862.144
Very frustrated as I have to start my phone again and restore it back to previous version.

This could be that the server could be down or busy. You can also try disabling any firewalls and anti virus software and try again.Also have a look at the following links:

Lumia 820 software update problem

I got notified via mail that phone update for Lumia 820 is released and available now for my device but when i manually tried to search it shows "we are unable to check for updates" plz some solution would be appreciated....Help!!!

Try a soft reset by holding both Volume Down and Power buttons pressed until phone vibrates and restarts. You will not lose any data or settings except possibly date and time.
If that doesn't help, try resetting the camera from settings > applications > photos+camera > reset camera.
If that doesn't help, try a hard reset from settings > about > reset your phone
If that doesn't help, try a full clean firmware reinstall using the Nokia Software Recovery Tool
If that doesn't help, take your handset to a Nokia Care Point to have it checked/repaired.

Lumia 929 Software update for WP8.1

I have a Nokia LUMIA ICON/929 with the following OS info
OS Version - 8.0.10521.155
Firmware revision # - 1028.3566.1417.0047
Hardware revision # - 1.0.0.0
Fitbit has finally come out with an app that works on Windows Phone, however it is only for devices with WP8.1...when i go to the Windows Phone app store to download the Fitbit app, I got an error message that reads:
"This app is not available for your device. Tap here for more info. [which i did and it came back with] APP NOT AVAILABLE. This might be because your phone software needs to be updated, the app is exclusive to a different mobile provider, or the app is not available in your country/region."
What do i need to do get the OS update for WP 8.1, and if it is not out, when will it be?

You didn't mention the carrier you're using. I'm using Elisa here in Finland and my MMS messages don't work with DP WP8.1. That's a bummer but I've used WhatsApp and Facebook messenger as a workaround to send and receive photos.
I sincerely hope Verizon would release official WP8.1 to Lumia Icon ASAP but there are either economical, strategical or technical issues why they still haven't released it. Now it's gotten to the point the customers are gonna write directly to the CEO of Verizon (just take a look at Verizon wireless community website) because nobody @ Verizon doesn't seem to know whether they even have this update nor when it's gonna be released.
I've also done some research whether it would be possible to flash Lumia 930's WP8.1 ROM to my Lumia Icon. No results yet but a guru @ XDA Developers told me he'd have a trick how to flash this ROM to my device. 
Yeah, and spare me from the mumbo-jumbo that I'll void the warranty of my phone. 1) Lumia Icon doesn't have a valid warranty within EU and 2) even though it'd have, flashing your phone (here in EU) won't void the warranty of your phone if the new ROM is not doing permanent harm to your phone. If it can be reverted back to its original ROM and thus get it fully functional, that's not jeopardizing the warranty of the phone. A friend of mine is an Android developer and he has studied the aforementioned thing. End result was like I've written here above. Of course if I'd brick my phone my flashing non-original ROM to it, then it's not within warranty anymore.

Your software is ‘Windows Phone 8.1 Update’ and your firmware indicates Lumia Denim, indeed. That higer OS version, was just a minor update not every phone model did get. We have a lot of reports of wrong display in extra+info. Therefore, I would not worry too much. To double-check go for menu » store » options » settings » check for updates.

I got the Cyan udpate to my 1520 a couple of weeks ago., it sovled many bugs and probably raised 1 or 2 new ones but overall its an great update.. you can check for the availbility of 8.1 Cyan at your Geo from Settings., I'm India, and Cyan here is being released for each model in time after time,,.. it took 1 hr+ with 700+mB data for my 1520.

The release for updates is phased. Your 720 will be offered the update when it gets to its turn. Incidentally none of my WP8 devices have been offered the update yet.

Another request for Lumia 830 Denim update information

I have the AT&T variant of the Lumia 830 and am waiting for a firmware update to fix two issues. However, there has been no communication as to when this firmware update will be released. I have only a short window to return this device and if I do not know when the firmware will be released, I would prefer to return it now and buy something else rather than waiting for several months. Let me be clear. I'm looking for specific availability dates and not a vague assurance that it's coming "soon" and that I should keep checking to see if it's out. If this information is not available now to Customer Support, please make the effort to reach out to the responsible team that does have this information. Even a date range specified in terms of days, months, or weeks would be helpful, along with any details that can help us understand why there is a delay. Of course, even better than knowing the release date would be having the firmware update pushed to my phone today. So that you can understand why I am eager to get this update, I've provided additional information below. I realize that this issue has been raised in other threads, but I'm adding as much detail as possible here so that I can refer to this post from support calls and any attempts to escalate my issue. Thanks for replying. While I was half-hoping that my lengthy plea might have been the straw that broke the camel's back, I can't say I honestly expected AT&T to change their policy and suddenly start delivering more timely releases of firmware updates with greater transparency about the process. As for me, I only had a small window of time to return the handset to AT&T. Having heard nothing, I figured that the safest course of action was to buy a carrier-unlocked RM-985 from a reputable retailer. After it shows up tomorrow, I'll still have time to return the AT&T variant. With Windows Phone 10 arriving shortly, this should ensure that I get that upgrade at least a month or two before users with the AT&T branded device. I'll also be able to lower the monthly bill, so that's a big side benefit. It's unfortunate that this is how AT&T operates. I imagine that they get more than a few returns of the device from people who couldn't get Netflix working and this has to be costing them some money. It certainly makes Windows Phone/Microsoft look bad as well, although they did ship the device with buggy firmware in the first place, even if they did provide a fix. Supposedly with Windows 10, Microsoft will no longer be allowing carriers to block phone updates, so the situation should improve. M

you can check here ([1]) which release is available for your device. For the Lumia 630 in India that is the Cyan release.
[2] reads "For all other Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the update will start rolling out during Q4 2014, following partner testing and approvals", so I think
it is only a matter of time when the update is deployed to the Lumia 630 in India.

Trying to update Lumia 630 OS

My Lumia 630 is persistently asking me to connect to WiFi to download a critical update since some couple of months; a month ago I took it to Nokia care, they said I have to change its slightly cracked outside screen before they could update it for me bcos it is risky to update on a broken screen & change of screen costs 12600naira which I can't afford. Pls I want to know how else I could do update without changing d screen or can I just continuing ignoring d update notification? Pls help me out

Hi, DAYJEE. Updating the phone's software has nothing to do with the screen. Suggest connecting to a W-Fi connection & proceed with the software update. This link may also help you: How can I update my Lumia with Windows Phone 8?. However, it is still recommended to have your phone's screen fixed for you to enjoy using it. Back up your files to avoid data loss. We'd love to hear your response.
