When will the denim update start rolling for Lumia 630 in India??? And when it will happen that applications will be allowed to run in background. Please don't make the OS with much limitation. At least think for the buyer's..

Hi, I'm using L630 locked to my local carrier(I'm from Bosnia). I saw that some models got Denim update, but there wasn't one for my phone, so I sent mail to microsoft support, and they said that denim was approved for my country and it was now up to my carrier. Sent them mail too, but they said that they don't have anything with software release. I got PfD and went to check for updates. There's now notification that there is update available, but how can I know if that update is Denim and not WP10 tp? I'm new to WP so have patience

Make sure that your system apps are up-to-date, especially the Extras+Info for it to display 'Lumia Denim'. You can scan the codes here: Windows Phone 8 App updates. Keep us posted.

Lumia 630 update problem

I am on developers preview, I get notification that update is available but after downloading 3% it Again says update available and starts over , this loop goes on, tried restarting but no help. Suggest something.

Let’s see what we can do to fix this, MaartenV. Make sure that the phone's system apps are updated. Go to Store>...>settings>check for updates. Hello,
you can check here ([1]) which release is available for your device. For the Lumia 630 in India that is the Cyan release.
[2] reads "For all other Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the update will start rolling out during Q4 2014, following partner testing and approvals", so I think
it is only a matter of time when the update is deployed to the Lumia 630 in India.

Trying to update Lumia 630 OS

My Lumia 630 is persistently asking me to connect to WiFi to download a critical update since some couple of months; a month ago I took it to Nokia care, they said I have to change its slightly cracked outside screen before they could update it for me bcos it is risky to update on a broken screen & change of screen costs 12600naira which I can't afford. Pls I want to know how else I could do update without changing d screen or can I just continuing ignoring d update notification? Pls help me out

Hi, DAYJEE. Updating the phone's software has nothing to do with the screen. Suggest connecting to a W-Fi connection & proceed with the software update. This link may also help you: How can I update my Lumia with Windows Phone 8?. However, it is still recommended to have your phone's screen fixed for you to enjoy using it. Back up your files to avoid data loss. We'd love to hear your response.

Lumia 630 denim update

I got the denim update on my Lumia 630 (dual sim). I heard a lot about it, specially about camera improvements. But I don't see any change in the camera app. It's still 4.9.3.0 and work like always. Soooo.... Can anyone help me ?

Lumia Denim update for Lumia 630DS

Microsoft told that all the Lumias will get denim update by the end of February but till now there is no denim update for Lumia 630 dual sim in India.

should be soon hopefully as other regions in Asia and Europe have already received the update. sit tight its coming.

i have problems with my lumia 630 DS, can't access the "find my phone" tab on settings, whenever i press it, it keeps coming back to the main settings tab,
i'm from PH, OS version 8.10.12397.895 and it says it's up to date

You are notified automatically by your phone, when the update is available. When there was no update till Easter, please, give us your ‘Nokia Product Code’ and we look into your firmware variant (and what is up).

There is no option to install local apps ,

Are you trying to install company apps from your SD card? Are the files saved as XAP? To install company apps in your Lumia 630, you must have a workplace account first. See this link for more information: Nokia Lumia 630 - Use your work phone.
Note that the link provided is for UK. If you're in a different region, best to search it in the local Nokia support page: Nokia Global.
BTW, which update are you trying to install? Is it for a particular app, or for the phone's software. The phone's SW can be updated via mobile data if your network settings allow it. Downloading apps and app updates can be done via mobile data as long as the file is less than 50 MB. Otherwise, you'll be ask to use Wi-Fi connection.

Lumia 630 Cortana

Hello,
So I just got a Lumia 630. I wanted something cheap after breaking yet another iPhone. I mainly got it for Cortana. Cortana looks cool. I say looks because I haven't actually used it. After searching I can only find outdated posts saying it isn't availible in the UK yet, which it is now right?
I got sim free (using giff gaff) and I'm in the UK. If i say look for updates the phones says there isn't one.
How on earth do I get Cortana on my phone? Help.

Very disappointed that after a big fanfare email and wading through various pages on the website that it appears there is no update available for my 630 yet. Nor are there any details of when such may be available. Makes the fanfare of the email etc a little pointless and premature for me...

Mhm. Microsoft Mobile updated the Windows Phone Update availability webpage. Now, the Nokia Lumia 735 is included. As you can see, the EE UK variant shall have the update already. I guess, that is their excuse for mentioning the Lumia Denim Update on the general Lumia 735 webpage. Why still nokia lumia black update is not yet avai...

Nokia has announced the GDR3 update for all of its windows 8 phones but still lumia 620 update availability shows waiting for approval. Lumia 620 has better specs than 520 but lumia 520 got the update ahead of 720 and 620. What may be the reason for this delay!!!?

If they tell you the reason is there something you can do about it? You will eventually still need to wait regardless of what the reason for the delay is. asking repeatedly about the availability will not expedite the release.

Windows 8.1 and Lumia Cyan Update

Hi Forum,
I bought a Nokia Lumia 925 from the UAE a year back.
I have signed up for the developer's preview of Windows Phone 8.1 and am presently using it.
Recently i read about another update to Windows Phone 8.1 along with firmware upgrades to Lumia named 'Cyan'.
For now, my phone came pre-loaded with the Lumia Black update.
I am now in the USA and have not subscribed to AT&T as a carrier.
I want to enjoy using the latest Windows Phone 8.1 and Lumia Cyan update in my phone but i am unable to do so.
How can i get the latest Windows and Cyan update to my phone?
I request your help with this.

You will need to reformat your device to factory, flash the device back to wp8, then get the over the air updated to wp8.1 and cyan should also come through, then reformat the device again and you should be able to pull your backup again. Then you can reinstall the preview for developers and then get the latest update with the folders capability too
