Hi. I have a never ending issue with my nokia lumia 710 i need a activation code, ive contacted the support centre in South Africa (where i am situated) with a result of them telling me they will contact me with the code but as expected im not getting a response,The lady helping me working for nokia even had the nerve to get angry with me for following up on the situation.And cant give me any information apart from they will contact me with a code, they cant even tell me more or less how long it will take. this is so frustrating and i am regreting purchasing a nokia as it is rendered useless. PLEASE I NEED HELP. WHY WONT THEY CONTACT ME WITH A CODE< FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK     . I hate nokia i thought it was a good product but the people are rude and helpless towards me!!

Hi, vengien. Welcome to Microsoft Mobile Community. Each Windows Phone is created with an activation code as part of the manufacturing process. In rare cases, a new activation code is required to complete the Microsoft account sign-in process. In your case, does it mean you have successfully set up a Microsoft account yet you're still asked to put the code? Have you checked the resolution given by @Abi99? Let us know if these links didn't work so we can think of other resolutions for you.

    If your phone is asking for an activation code, you need to coordinate your concern with Nokia Support. They will coordinate this to Microsoft to provide you with an activation code. You can contact them here:

    I can let you know this is not a known issue with the Windows ecosystem as the Lumia range of devices, the hardware itself maybe different specification but the ecosystem is the same. Also I myself have 710 and have never had this issue and am based in the UK so the statement from your network provider is false. Who is your network provider?
    What I recommend you do is take your device to your nearest Nokia care point to have the device inspected. You can look at the link below for the nearest one:

    Also did you ask your network provider for a new sim? Was the phone purchased off line or part of a contract?
    Finally are you 100% sure your data plan is active? Also go into settings and mobile network and make sure data connection is on and highest speed is set to 3G

  • Lumia 710 video recording

    Just got my new Lumia 710 today. My last phone was a WP 6.5. The interface is very different.
    I tried video recording on the Lumia. I do not get any(or faint) sound recording during video recording. Can I confirm there is a mic at the rear of the phone? There is a tiny hole below the LED, could that be a mic? If I speak in front of the phone, while video recording, I could hear myself clearly. It seems the mic at the front of the phone is the active mic for sound recording. But this does not make sense as your subject is in front of the camera.
    Does any Lumia 710 owners face the same situation?

    I'm experiencing the same problem (1) with my Lumia 800. It started recently and does not always occur.

  • Proximity Sensor problem after update. Lumia 710

    Hi,
    Yesterday i received the update notification to Tango through Zune. After perform the update, I noticed that when making or receiving calls, the screen immediately turned off and is not turned on again until the other person hung up.
    I did the tests in the diagnostic menu, and the proximity sensor always shows "detected".

    I did a rollback to the previous version and the problem was solved, but went update to Tango again, the problem reappears. I notice that problem appears just after the firmware update from Nokia.

    can anybody help me.......i m facing issue with my proxomity sensor aa when i make or recive the call my phone (Nokia Lumia 710) screen gets disappear ant it comes only when other person disconnect the call. This happens only when i did update my phone with new updates. Can any one tell me hoe to roll back to previous version.

  • Nokia Lumia 710 Earphone Jack - Constant Static/Wh...

    Hello everyone,
    I have noticed, with a majority ofNokia devices that there is a static noise in the background when the sound card of the device is activated. I wish to seek a fix because I use in ear earphones and it gets really annoying having to put up with the noise when I use in ear earphones to block out noise. Is there an easy fix and/or explanation for this?

    No, not hardware. My Lumia 710 is working fine.
    Try see if the audio port is clean. If it isn't, you can try clean it again (Not with a tissue or water).
    If it still doesn't work well, try use your headphones on the other phone. If it doesn't work, you can bring it on Nokia Care to ask for a replacement (On warranty).

    Hi Adisht, I tried  your steps and am facing same problem. Dont have a solution yet. the internet sharing works fine with my laptop but doesnt work on my lumia 710 itself. Please share if you arrived to a solution.

    Welcome to the forum! 
    Do you have a stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection when trying to access the Marketplace? Are you able to browse mobile websites or use other internet-based apps? When did this issue start to happen? Do you get any error code or message when trying to download apps?
    Try to check if your Windows Live (or Microsoft) account is working fine by going to Settings > Email + Account > Windows Live. Tap and hold your account, and then select Sync. You may also try to retype your password to update it. After that, try to access the Marketplace and download apps again. Mae sure that the internet connection is stable when downloading apps. If the issue continues, try to reboot the phone by removing and re-placing the battery before turning the phone on.
    Let us know how it will go.

    Here's an example for you to understand.
    Let say, you just bought a phone with the earliest firmware. And you planned to upgrade your phone to the latest firmware. When you update it through Zune, it will automatically update the first update, then second update, third update until the latest update. It will update all those one by one and it will tell you to unplug your phone when the latest update is updated on your phone.
    Your friend's phone is updated, but probably not on the latest one.
    Anyway, you might want to check your phone for the latest update. It is available for your phone according on your product code. If your phone has camera extras, Internet Sharing and Flip-To-Silence features, it means your phone is fully updated to the latest update.

  • Lumia 710 boots sometimes while charging

    I usually charge my Lumia 710 while I'm sleeping. It is happened now twice that during the night Lumia vibrates and restarts itself. After that it will ask PIN code and so on. This does not happen every time and never when not being charged.
    I talked today with Nokia via Chat and the person there said that this is a feature but it sounds a bit weird? It is annoying to wake up because the phone is making noise and nobody could call you because the phone is asking PIN code.
    Has anybody else noticed this kind of behavior?

    Do you mean the phone restarts or starts when charging?
    If you mean 'starts' it is indeed by design (or a feature if you like). Windows Phone is an always on-design, meaning it only has two modes on or off.
    Charging also occurs in on-mode. There is no charge-mode (other than when the battery is very low, then it has a special animation it shows before booting into the main OS). So if you plug in a charger it will switch to on, and boot the main OS.
    If you want to use overnight charging and not being disturbed, just put the phone in airplaine mode or just silence the ringer.
    if you however mean that it 'restarts' in the sense that your phone is already on, and restarts during charging it is a bug and not a feature.

  • Lumia 710 /Carkit112/Contacts transfer/Bluetooth

    Just taken a Lumia 710 and want to connect to existing carkit112. Phone recognises the kit's existence but just says "cannot connect" No option to enter password given. Anybody got any clues?
    Also can't transfer phone book from old Samsung by bluetooth using Contacts transfer. It goes through preparation, recognises the phone, sends it a code then just says "cannot transfer"  

    All later versions of bluetooth are backward compatible and should work, albeit with reduced functionality and lower speeds. 
    However, bluetooth profiles may cause problems if not supported. Lumia 710 only supports the following profiles but am unable to check CARK112 profiles. Profile supported by Mumia 710 are A2DP 1.2, AVCTP 1.0, AVCTP 1.3, AVDTP 1.0, AVDTP 1.2, AVRCP 1.0, GAP, GAVDP 1.2, HFP 1.5, HSP 1.1, IOP, L2CAP, PBAP 1.0, RFCOMM 1.0, SDP.

  • Looking for a sort of "activity code" in transactions ME51N/ME52N/ME53N

    Hi all experts, got an - I hope - interesting question to ask you.
    I have an user exit that is executed on every step done in creation/modify of a Purchase requisition. In this code (custom), executed from the transactions ME51(n)/ME52(n) and ME53(n) there's something like:
    GET PARAMETER ID 'BAN' FIELD r_banfn. "Purchase Requisition number
    GET PARAMETER ID 'BFC' FIELD r_frgab. "Release strategy
    r_banfn should contain the number of the purchase requisition I'm working on. So far, so good.
    The problem is that if in ANY transaction I press the New Document button, I can notice in debug that r_banfn contains the number of the purchase requisition that WAS active before pressing the "create new" button.
    That's not good because that r_banfn value is then used to some checks, and should then be blank in case of creation of a new purchase requisitions.
    I'm then asking you if there's a way in my user exit to distinguish between the two cases, which are:
    -1- I'm modifying an existing purchase requisition (so, the field in r_banfn IS correct);
    -2- I'm CREATING a new document (so, r_banfn value is NOT correct and should be set to blank).
    This distinction must be coded into the previously cited user exit and should affect ME51(n), ME52(n) and ME53(n), from which the user can either create a new RdA or modify an existing one.
    We tried to manage the situation as follow, but without success:
    IF NOT r_banfn IS INITIAL.
      CALL FUNCTION 'ENQUEUE_EMEBANE'
           EXPORTING
                banfn          = r_banfn
           EXCEPTIONS
                foreign_lock   = 1
                system_failure = 2
                OTHERS         = 3.
      IF sy-subrc NE 0.
    * Can't lock --> means I'm actually working in modify mode on it

        CLEAR r_banfn.
      ENDIF.

    The code is quite self-explaining but doesn't work because it seems that the "enqueue" phase goes ok even tho we're working on modification on the purchase requisition.
    I'm guessing if there's a sort of "activity code" (create? modify? view?) I can catch @ runtime to solve this task.

  • Lumia 710 signal and Internet sharing problem

    I've been using Lumia 710 since 3 months. Even though the initial experience was good now I'm facing a serious signal problem with the phone. We recently moved to a high-rise building where the signal is weak inside the rooms. If the phone looses the signal it doesn't pick-up the signal even though network is available. This is causing a serious a trouble to me as I don't receive or make calls during the period. I either need to switch-off and switch-on again or I need to turn-on and turn-off  flight mode for the phone to pick up the signal. Sometime even though the signal shows 3/4 bars I won't be able to make/receive the calls.
    I'm also facing a issue with Internet sharing option. Even though devices are able to connect they are not able to use the internet/data from phone. I was using the same SIM with other phone of different make and it was working pretty fine. I rely a lot on internet sharing option and now I can't even swap my SIM with old phone as Lumia uses micro SIM.
    Please let me know the solutions to both these issues.

    That is not normal though. Bring your phone to your local Nokia Care Center and let them have a look at it.
    Internet Sharing on Edge/G is not working very well, try and find a 3G connection (which is fast enough) and you will get a better experience.
